掃羅之死
10 非利士人與以色列人交戰，以色列人敗逃，許多人在基利波山被殺。 2 非利士人窮追掃羅及其眾子，殺了掃羅的兒子約拿單、亞比拿達和麥基舒亞。 3 掃羅周圍的戰鬥非常猛烈，他被弓箭手發現、射成重傷， 4 就對為他拿兵器的人說：「拔出你的刀來刺死我吧！免得那些未受割禮的人來凌辱我。」但拿兵器的人非常害怕，不敢動手，掃羅就自己伏刀自盡。 5 拿兵器的人看見掃羅已死，也伏刀自盡了。 6 這樣，掃羅和他的三個兒子及全家都死了。 7 住在山谷中的以色列人看見以色列軍敗逃、掃羅及其眾子已死，都棄城而逃。於是，非利士人佔領了那些城邑。 8 次日，非利士人來剝陣亡者的衣物，發現掃羅及其眾子橫屍基利波山， 9 就剝下掃羅的盔甲，割下他的頭顱，並派人到非利士四境向他們的偶像和民眾通告消息。 10 他們將掃羅的盔甲放在他們的神廟裡，把他的頭顱掛在大袞神廟中。 11 基列·雅比人聽見非利士人對掃羅的所作所為， 12 他們所有的勇士就去把掃羅和他兒子們的屍體運到雅比，葬在雅比的橡樹下，並禁食七天。 13 掃羅死了，因為他對耶和華不忠，不聽從祂的教誨，甚至去求問靈媒， 14 而不求問耶和華。因此，耶和華使他被殺，把王位交給了耶西的兒子大衛。

Muerte de Saúl y de sus hijos
10 Los filisteos combatieron contra Israel, y los hombres de Israel huyeron delante de los filisteos y cayeron muertos en el monte Gilboa. 2 Los filisteos persiguieron de cerca a Saúl y a sus hijos; y mataron a Jonatán, a Abinadab y a Malquisúa, hijos de Saúl.
3 La batalla arreció contra Saúl, y los que tiran con el arco lo encontraron; y fue herido gravemente por los arqueros. 4 Entonces Saúl dijo a su escudero: “Saca tu espada y atraviésame con ella, no sea que vengan esos incircuncisos y hagan mofa de mí”. Pero su escudero no quiso, porque tenía mucho miedo. Entonces Saúl tomó la espada y se dejó caer sobre ella. 5 Al ver su escudero que Saúl estaba muerto, él también se dejó caer sobre su espada y murió. 6 Así murió Saúl, y sus tres hijos y todos los de su casa murieron junto con él. 7 Y al ver todos los hombres de Israel que estaban en el valle que los de Israel[a] habían huido, y que Saúl y sus hijos habían muerto, abandonaron sus ciudades y huyeron. Entonces los filisteos fueron y habitaron en ellas.
8 Aconteció que al día siguiente, cuando los filisteos fueron para despojar a los muertos, hallaron a Saúl y a sus hijos caídos en el monte Gilboa. 9 Lo despojaron, tomaron su cabeza y sus armas, y enviaron mensajeros por toda la tierra de los filisteos para dar la buena noticia a sus ídolos y al pueblo. 10 Después pusieron sus armas en el templo de sus dioses, y clavaron su cabeza en el templo de Dagón.
11 Cuando todos los de Jabes, en Galaad, oyeron todo lo que los filisteos habían hecho con Saúl, 12 todos los hombres valientes se levantaron y tomaron el cadáver de Saúl y los cadáveres de sus hijos, y los llevaron a Jabes. Enterraron sus restos debajo de la encina en Jabes y ayunaron siete días.
13 Así murió Saúl por la infidelidad que cometió contra el SEÑOR, respecto a la palabra del SEÑOR, la cual no guardó, y porque consultó a quien evoca a los muertos pidiendo consejo, 14 en lugar de pedir consejo al SEÑOR. Por esta causa él lo hizo morir y transfirió el reino a David hijo de Isaí.

10 Now the Philistines fought against Israel; and the men of Israel fled from before the Philistines, and fell down slain in mount Gilboa.
2 And the Philistines followed hard after Saul, and after his sons; and the Philistines slew Jonathan, and Abinadab, and Malchishua, the sons of Saul.
3 And the battle went sore against Saul, and the archers hit him, and he was wounded of the archers.
4 Then said Saul to his armourbearer, Draw thy sword, and thrust me through therewith; lest these uncircumcised come and abuse me. But his armourbearer would not; for he was sore afraid. So Saul took a sword, and fell upon it.
5 And when his armourbearer saw that Saul was dead, he fell likewise on the sword, and died.
6 So Saul died, and his three sons, and all his house died together.
7 And when all the men of Israel that were in the valley saw that they fled, and that Saul and his sons were dead, then they forsook their cities, and fled: and the Philistines came and dwelt in them.
8 And it came to pass on the morrow, when the Philistines came to strip the slain, that they found Saul and his sons fallen in mount Gilboa.
9 And when they had stripped him, they took his head, and his armour, and sent into the land of the Philistines round about, to carry tidings unto their idols, and to the people.
10 And they put his armour in the house of their gods, and fastened his head in the temple of Dagon.
11 And when all Jabeshgilead heard all that the Philistines had done to Saul,
12 They arose, all the valiant men, and took away the body of Saul, and the bodies of his sons, and brought them to Jabesh, and buried their bones under the oak in Jabesh, and fasted seven days.
13 So Saul died for his transgression which he committed against the Lord, even against the word of the Lord, which he kept not, and also for asking counsel of one that had a familiar spirit, to enquire of it;
14 And enquired not of the Lord: therefore he slew him, and turned the kingdom unto David the son of Jesse.
