亞當的後代
5 以下是關於亞當後代的記載。
上帝造人的時候，是照祂自己的形像造的。 2 祂造了男人和女人，又賜福給他們，在創造他們的那日稱他們為「人」。 3 亞當一百三十歲生了一子，長相酷似自己，給他取名叫塞特。 4 亞當生了塞特以後，又活了八百年，生兒育女， 5 九百三十歲去世。
6 塞特一百零五歲生以挪士， 7 之後又活了八百零七年，生兒育女， 8 九百一十二歲去世。
9 以挪士九十歲生該南， 10 之後又活了八百一十五年，生兒育女， 11 九百零五歲去世。
12 該南七十歲生瑪勒列， 13 之後又活了八百四十年，生兒育女， 14 九百一十歲去世。
15 瑪勒列六十五歲生雅列， 16 之後又活了八百三十年，生兒育女， 17 八百九十五歲去世。
18 雅列一百六十二歲生以諾， 19 之後又活了八百年，生兒育女， 20 九百六十二歲去世。
21 以諾六十五歲生瑪土撒拉， 22 之後與上帝親密同行三百年，生兒育女， 23 共活了三百六十五年。 24 以諾與上帝親密同行，後來被上帝接去，不在世上了。
25 瑪土撒拉一百八十七歲生拉麥， 26 之後又活了七百八十二年，生兒育女， 27 九百六十九歲去世。
28 拉麥一百八十二歲生了一個兒子， 29 取名叫挪亞[a]，他說：「耶和華咒詛了大地，以致我們艱辛勞苦，這孩子必使我們從艱辛勞苦中得安慰。」 30 拉麥生挪亞之後，又活了五百九十五年，生兒育女， 31 七百七十七歲去世。
32 挪亞五百歲生閃、含和雅弗。

5 Þetta er ættarskrá Adams: Þegar Guð skapaði Adam, gjörði Guð hann sér líkan.
2 Hann skóp þau mann og konu og blessaði þau og nefndi þau menn, er þau voru sköpuð.
3 Adam lifði hundrað og þrjátíu ár. Þá gat hann son í líking sinni, eftir sinni mynd, og nefndi hann Set.
4 Og dagar Adams, eftir að hann gat Set, voru átta hundruð ár, og hann gat sonu og dætur.
5 Og allir dagar Adams, sem hann lifði, voru níu hundruð og þrjátíu ár. Þá dó hann.
6 Þegar Set var orðinn hundrað og fimm ára gamall gat hann Enos.
7 Eftir að Set gat Enos lifði hann átta hundruð og sjö ár og gat sonu og dætur.
8 Og allir dagar Sets voru níu hundruð og tólf ár, þá andaðist hann.
9 Enos var níutíu ára, er hann gat Kenan.
10 Og eftir að Enos gat Kenan lifði hann átta hundruð og fimmtán ár og gat sonu og dætur.
11 Og allir dagar Enoss voru níu hundruð og fimm ár, þá andaðist hann.
12 Þá er Kenan var sjötíu ára, gat hann Mahalalel.
13 Og Kenan lifði, eftir að hann gat Mahalalel, átta hundruð og fjörutíu ár og gat sonu og dætur.
14 Og allir dagar Kenans urðu níu hundruð og tíu ár, þá andaðist hann.
15 Er Mahalalel var sextíu og fimm ára, gat hann Jared.
16 Og Mahalalel lifði, eftir að hann gat Jared, átta hundruð og þrjátíu ár og gat sonu og dætur.
17 Og allir dagar Mahalalels voru átta hundruð níutíu og fimm ár, þá andaðist hann.
18 Er Jared var hundrað sextíu og tveggja ára, gat hann Enok.
19 Og Jared lifði, eftir að hann gat Enok, átta hundruð ár og gat sonu og dætur.
20 Og allir dagar Jareds voru níu hundruð sextíu og tvö ár, þá andaðist hann.
21 Er Enok var sextíu og fimm ára, gat hann Metúsala.
22 Og eftir að Enok gat Metúsala gekk hann með Guði þrjú hundruð ár og gat sonu og dætur.
23 Og allir dagar Enoks voru þrjú hundruð sextíu og fimm ár.
24 Og Enok gekk með Guði og hvarf, af því að Guð nam hann burt.
25 Er Metúsala var hundrað áttatíu og sjö ára, gat hann Lamek.
26 Og Metúsala lifði, eftir að hann gat Lamek, sjö hundruð áttatíu og tvö ár og gat sonu og dætur.
27 Og allir dagar Metúsala voru níu hundruð sextíu og níu ár, þá andaðist hann.
28 Er Lamek var hundrað áttatíu og tveggja ára, gat hann son.
29 Og hann nefndi hann Nóa og mælti: "Þessi mun hugga oss í erfiði voru og striti handa vorra, er jörðin, sem Drottinn bölvaði, bakar oss."
30 Og Lamek lifði, eftir að hann gat Nóa, fimm hundruð níutíu og fimm ár og gat sonu og dætur.
31 Og allir dagar Lameks voru sjö hundruð sjötíu og sjö ár, þá andaðist hann.
32 Og er Nói var fimm hundruð ára, gat hann Sem, Kam og Jafet.

From Adam to Noah
5 This is the written account(A) of Adam’s family line.(B)
When God created mankind, he made them in the likeness of God.(C) 2 He created them(D) male and female(E) and blessed them. And he named them “Mankind”[a] when they were created.
3 When Adam had lived 130 years, he had a son in his own likeness, in his own image;(F) and he named him Seth.(G) 4 After Seth was born, Adam lived 800 years and had other sons and daughters. 5 Altogether, Adam lived a total of 930 years, and then he died.(H)
6 When Seth had lived 105 years, he became the father[b] of Enosh.(I) 7 After he became the father of Enosh, Seth lived 807 years and had other sons and daughters. 8 Altogether, Seth lived a total of 912 years, and then he died.
9 When Enosh had lived 90 years, he became the father of Kenan.(J) 10 After he became the father of Kenan, Enosh lived 815 years and had other sons and daughters. 11 Altogether, Enosh lived a total of 905 years, and then he died.
12 When Kenan had lived 70 years, he became the father of Mahalalel.(K) 13 After he became the father of Mahalalel, Kenan lived 840 years and had other sons and daughters. 14 Altogether, Kenan lived a total of 910 years, and then he died.
15 When Mahalalel had lived 65 years, he became the father of Jared.(L) 16 After he became the father of Jared, Mahalalel lived 830 years and had other sons and daughters. 17 Altogether, Mahalalel lived a total of 895 years, and then he died.
18 When Jared had lived 162 years, he became the father of Enoch.(M) 19 After he became the father of Enoch, Jared lived 800 years and had other sons and daughters. 20 Altogether, Jared lived a total of 962 years, and then he died.
21 When Enoch had lived 65 years, he became the father of Methuselah.(N) 22 After he became the father of Methuselah, Enoch walked faithfully with God(O) 300 years and had other sons and daughters. 23 Altogether, Enoch lived a total of 365 years. 24 Enoch walked faithfully with God;(P) then he was no more, because God took him away.(Q)
25 When Methuselah had lived 187 years, he became the father of Lamech.(R) 26 After he became the father of Lamech, Methuselah lived 782 years and had other sons and daughters. 27 Altogether, Methuselah lived a total of 969 years, and then he died.
28 When Lamech had lived 182 years, he had a son. 29 He named him Noah[c](S) and said, “He will comfort us in the labor and painful toil of our hands caused by the ground the Lord has cursed.(T)” 30 After Noah was born, Lamech lived 595 years and had other sons and daughters. 31 Altogether, Lamech lived a total of 777 years, and then he died.
32 After Noah was 500 years old,(U) he became the father of Shem,(V) Ham and Japheth.(W)
