Caín y Abel
4 El hombre se unió con su esposa Eva. Ella quedó embarazada y dio a luz a su hijo Caín, y dijo: «Ya tengo un hijo varón. El Señor me lo ha dado.» 2 Después dio a luz a Abel, hermano de Caín. Abel se dedicó a criar ovejas, y Caín se dedicó a cultivar la tierra.
3 Pasó el tiempo, y un día Caín llevó al Señor una ofrenda del producto de su cosecha. 4 También Abel llevó al Señor las primeras y mejores crías de sus ovejas. El Señor miró con agrado a Abel y a su ofrenda, 5 pero no miró así a Caín ni a su ofrenda, por lo que Caín se enojó muchísimo y puso muy mala cara. 6 Entonces el Señor le dijo: «¿Por qué te enojas y pones tan mala cara? 7 Si hicieras lo bueno, podrías levantar la cara; pero como no lo haces, el pecado está esperando el momento de dominarte. Sin embargo, tú puedes dominarlo a él.»
8 Un día, Caín invitó a su hermano Abel a dar un paseo, y cuando los dos estaban ya en el campo, Caín atacó a su hermano Abel y lo mató. 9 Entonces el Señor le preguntó a Caín:
—¿Dónde está tu hermano Abel?
Y Caín contestó:
—No lo sé. ¿Acaso es mi obligación cuidar de él?
10 El Señor le dijo:
—¿Por qué has hecho esto? La sangre de tu hermano, que has derramado en la tierra, me pide a gritos que yo haga justicia. 11 Por eso, quedarás maldito y expulsado de la tierra que se ha bebido la sangre de tu hermano, a quien tú mataste. 12 Aunque trabajes la tierra, no volverá a darte sus frutos. Andarás vagando por el mundo, sin poder descansar jamás.
13 Entonces Caín respondió al Señor:
—Yo no puedo soportar un castigo tan grande. 14 Hoy me has echado fuera de esta tierra, y tendré que vagar por el mundo lejos de tu presencia, sin poder descansar jamás. Y así, cualquiera que me encuentre me matará.
15 Pero el Señor le contestó:
—Pues si alguien te mata, será castigado siete veces.
Entonces el Señor le puso una señal a Caín, para que el que lo encontrara no lo matara. 16 Caín se fue del lugar donde había estado hablando con el Señor, y se quedó a vivir en la región de Nod, que está al oriente de Edén.
Los descendientes de Caín
17 Caín se unió con su mujer, y ella quedó embarazada y dio a luz a Henoc. Luego Caín fundó una ciudad, a la que le puso por nombre Henoc, como a su hijo. 18 Henoc fue el padre de Irad, Irad fue el padre de Mehujael, Mehujael fue el padre de Metusael, y Metusael fue el padre de Lámec. 19 Lámec tuvo dos esposas: una de ellas se llamaba Adá, y la otra se llamaba Silá. 20 Adá dio a luz a Jabal, de quien descienden los que viven en tiendas de campaña y crían ganado. 21 Jabal tuvo un hermano llamado Jubal, de quien descienden todos los que tocan el arpa y la flauta. 22 Por su parte, Silá dio a luz a Tubal-caín, que fue herrero y hacía objetos de bronce y de hierro. Tubal-caín tuvo una hermana que se llamaba Naamá.
23 Un día, Lámec les dijo a sus esposas Adá y Silá:
«Escuchen bien lo que les digo:
he matado a un hombre por herirme,
a un muchacho por golpearme.
24 Si a Caín lo vengarán siete veces,
a mí tendrán que vengarme
setenta y siete veces.»
El tercer hijo de Adán y Eva
25 Adán volvió a unirse con su esposa, y ella tuvo un hijo al que llamó Set, pues dijo: «Dios me ha dado otro hijo en lugar de Abel, al que Caín mató.»
26 También Set tuvo un hijo, al que llamó Enós. Desde entonces se comenzó a invocar el nombre del Señor.

4 亚当和他妻子夏娃同房，夏娃便怀孕，生了该隐。她说：“耶和华让我得了一个男孩。” 2 后来，夏娃又生了该隐的弟弟亚伯。长大后，亚伯做了牧羊人，该隐做了农夫。
3 到了收成的时候，该隐把地里的出产当祭物献给耶和华， 4 亚伯也把羊群中头生的羊及其最肥美的部分献给耶和华。耶和华悦纳亚伯和他的祭物， 5 却不悦纳该隐和他的祭物。该隐便非常恼火，面带怒容。 6 耶和华问该隐：“你为什么恼火？为什么面带怒容？ 7 如果你做得对，难道不会蒙悦纳吗？如果你做得不对，罪就蹲在你的门口要控制你，但你必须制服罪。”
8 该隐对弟弟亚伯说：“我们去田间吧！”[a]他们在田间的时候，该隐动手打亚伯，把他杀了。
9 后来，耶和华问该隐：“你弟弟亚伯在哪里？”他说：“我不知道！难道我是弟弟的看护人吗？” 10 耶和华说：“你做了什么事？你弟弟的血从地里向我哭诉。 11 地张开口从你手上接受了你弟弟的血，你在地上必受咒诅。 12 你种地，地却不会再为你长出任何东西，你必在地上四处漂泊。” 13 该隐对耶和华说：“这惩罚太重！我承受不了。 14 今天你把我赶出去，使我不能再见你的面。我在地上四处漂泊，见到我的人都会杀我。” 15 耶和华对他说：“不会的，因为凡杀你的，必遭受七倍的报应。”于是，耶和华在该隐身上留下一个记号，免得见到他的人杀他。 16 该隐离开耶和华，来到伊甸东边的挪得住下来。
该隐的后代
17 该隐和妻子同房，他的妻子就怀孕，生了以诺。该隐建了一座城，用他儿子的名字给这城取名叫以诺。 18 以诺生以拿，以拿生米户雅利，米户雅利生玛土撒利，玛土撒利生拉麦。 19 拉麦娶了两个妻子，一个叫亚大，另一个叫洗拉。 20 亚大生了亚八，亚八是游牧民族的祖先， 21 亚八的弟弟犹八是吹奏乐器之人的鼻祖。 22 洗拉生了土八·该隐，他是打造各种铜铁器具的匠人[b]，他的妹妹叫拿玛。
23 一天，拉麦对他的两个妻子说：
“亚大，洗拉，你们听我的声音；
拉麦的妻子啊，侧耳听我的话，
有人伤我，我杀了他，
青年打我，我宰了他。
24 杀该隐的遭受七倍的报应，
杀拉麦的遭受七十七倍的报应。”

Cain Murders Abel(A)
4 Now Adam knew Eve his wife, and she conceived and bore [a]Cain, and said, “I have acquired a man from the Lord.” 2 Then she bore again, this time his brother [b]Abel. Now (B)Abel was a keeper of sheep, but Cain was a tiller of the ground. 3 And [c]in the process of time it came to pass that Cain brought an offering of the fruit (C)of the ground to the Lord. 4 Abel also brought of (D)the firstborn of his flock and of (E)their fat. And the Lord (F)respected Abel and his offering, 5 but He did not respect Cain and his offering. And Cain was very angry, and his countenance fell.
6 So the Lord said to Cain, “Why are you angry? And why has your countenance fallen? 7 If you do well, will you not be accepted? And if you do not do well, sin lies at the door. And its desire is [d]for you, but you should rule over it.”
8 Now Cain [e]talked with Abel his [f]brother; and it came to pass, when they were in the field, that Cain rose up against Abel his brother and (G)killed him.
9 Then the Lord said to Cain, “Where is Abel your brother?”
He said, (H)“I do not know. Am I (I)my brother’s keeper?”
10 And He said, “What have you done? The voice of your brother’s blood (J)cries out to Me from the ground. 11 So now (K)you are cursed from the earth, which has opened its mouth to receive your brother’s blood from your hand. 12 When you till the ground, it shall no longer yield its strength to you. A fugitive and a vagabond you shall be on the earth.”
13 And Cain said to the Lord, “My [g]punishment is greater than I can bear! 14 Surely You have driven me out this day from the face of the ground; (L)I shall be (M)hidden from Your face; I shall be a fugitive and a vagabond on the earth, and it will happen that (N)anyone who finds me will kill me.”
15 And the Lord said to him, [h]“Therefore, whoever kills Cain, vengeance shall be taken on him (O)sevenfold.” And the Lord set a (P)mark on Cain, lest anyone finding him should kill him.
The Family of Cain
16 Then Cain (Q)went out from the (R)presence of the Lord and dwelt in the land of [i]Nod on the east of Eden. 17 And Cain knew his wife, and she conceived and bore Enoch. And he built a city, (S)and called the name of the city after the name of his son—Enoch. 18 To Enoch was born Irad; and Irad begot Mehujael, and Mehujael begot Methushael, and Methushael begot Lamech.
19 Then Lamech took for himself (T)two wives: the name of one was Adah, and the name of the second was Zillah. 20 And Adah bore Jabal. He was the father of those who dwell in tents and have livestock. 21 His brother’s name was Jubal. He was the father of all those who play the harp and [j]flute. 22 And as for Zillah, she also bore Tubal-Cain, an instructor of every craftsman in bronze and iron. And the sister of Tubal-Cain was Naamah.
23 Then Lamech said to his wives:
“Adah and Zillah, hear my voice;
Wives of Lamech, listen to my speech!
For I have [k]killed a man for wounding me,
Even a young man [l]for hurting me.
24 (U)If Cain shall be avenged sevenfold,
Then Lamech seventy-sevenfold.”
A New Son
25 And Adam knew his wife again, and she bore a son and (V)named him [m]Seth, “For God has appointed another seed for me instead of Abel, whom Cain killed.” 26 And as for Seth, (W)to him also a son was born; and he named him [n]Enosh. Then men began (X)to call on the name of the Lord.

1 Afterward the man knew Eve his wife which [a]conceived and bare Cain, and said, I have obtained a man [b]by the Lord.
2 And again she brought forth his brother Abel, and Abel was a keeper of sheep, and Cain was a tiller of the ground.
3 ¶ And in process of time it came to pass, that Cain brought an [c]oblation unto the Lord of the fruit of the ground.
4 And Abel also himself brought of the firstfruits of his sheep, and of the fat of them, and the Lord had respect unto (A)Abel, and to his offering,
5 But unto Cain and to his offering he had no [d]regard: wherefore Cain was exceedingly wroth and his countenance fell down.
6 Then the Lord said unto Cain, Why art thou wroth? and why is thy countenance cast down?
7 If thou do well, shalt thou not be [e]accepted? and if thou doest not well, sin lieth at the [f]door: also unto thee his [g]desire shall be subject, and thou shalt rule over him.
8 ¶ Then Cain spake unto Abel his brother. And (B)when they were in the field, Cain rose up against Abel his brother, and slew him.
9 Then the Lord said unto Cain, Where is Abel thy brother? Who answered, I cannot tell. [h]Am I my brother’s keeper?
10 Again he said, What hast thou done? the [i]voice of thy brother’s blood crieth unto me, from the earth.
11 Now therefore thou art cursed [j]from the earth, which hath opened her mouth to receive thy brother’s blood from thine hand.
12 When thou shalt till the ground, it shall not henceforth yield unto thee her strength: a [k]vagabond and a runagate shalt thou be in the earth.
13 Then Cain said to the Lord, [l][m]My punishment is greater than I can bear.
14 Behold, thou hast cast me out this day from [n]the earth, and from thy face shall I be hid, and shall be a vagabond, and a runagate in the earth, and whosoever findeth me shall slay me.
15 Then the Lord said unto him, Doubtless whosoever slayeth Cain, he shall be [o]punished seven fold. And the Lord set a [p]mark upon Cain, lest any man finding him, should kill him.
16 Then Cain went out from the presence of the Lord, and dwelt in the land of Nod toward the East side of Eden.
17 Cain also knew his wife, which conceived and bore Enoch: and he built a [q]city, and called the name of the city by the name of his son, Enoch.
