Dios Habla Hoy
La Creación
1 En el comienzo de todo, Dios creó el cielo y la tierra. 2 La tierra no tenía entonces ninguna forma; todo era un mar profundo cubierto de oscuridad, y el espíritu de Dios se movía sobre el agua.
3 Entonces Dios dijo: «¡Que haya luz!»
Y hubo luz. 4 Al ver Dios que la luz era buena, la separó de la oscuridad 5 y la llamó «día», y a la oscuridad la llamó «noche». De este modo se completó el primer día.
6 Después Dios dijo: «Que haya una bóveda que separe las aguas, para que estas queden separadas.»
Y así fue. 7 Dios hizo una bóveda que separó las aguas: una parte de ellas quedó debajo de la bóveda, y otra parte quedó arriba. 8 A la bóveda la llamó «cielo». De este modo se completó el segundo día.
9 Entonces Dios dijo: «Que el agua que está debajo del cielo se junte en un solo lugar, para que aparezca lo seco.»
Y así fue. 10 A la parte seca Dios la llamó «tierra», y al agua que se había juntado la llamó «mar».
Al ver Dios que todo estaba bien, 11 dijo: «Que produzca la tierra toda clase de plantas: hierbas que den semilla y árboles que den fruto.»
Y así fue. 12 La tierra produjo toda clase de plantas: hierbas que dan semilla y árboles que dan fruto. Y Dios vio que todo estaba bien. 13 De este modo se completó el tercer día.
14-15 Entonces Dios dijo: «Que haya luces en la bóveda celeste, que alumbren la tierra y separen el día de la noche, y que sirvan también para señalar los días, los años y las fechas especiales.»
Y así fue. 16 Dios hizo las dos luces: la grande para alumbrar de día y la pequeña para alumbrar de noche. También hizo las estrellas. 17 Dios puso las luces en la bóveda celeste para alumbrar la tierra 18 de día y de noche, y para separar la luz de la oscuridad, y vio que todo estaba bien. 19 De este modo se completó el cuarto día.
20 Luego Dios dijo: «Que produzca el agua toda clase de animales, y que haya también aves que vuelen sobre la tierra.»
Y así fue. 21 Dios creó los grandes monstruos del mar, y todos los animales que el agua produce y que viven en ella, y todas las aves.
Al ver Dios que así estaba bien, 22 bendijo con estas palabras a los animales que había hecho: «Que tengan muchas crías y llenen los mares, y que haya muchas aves en el mundo.»
23 De este modo se completó el quinto día.
24 Entonces Dios dijo: «Que produzca la tierra toda clase de animales: domésticos y salvajes, y los que se arrastran por el suelo.»
Y así fue. 25 Dios hizo estos animales y vio que todo estaba bien.
26 Entonces dijo: «Ahora hagamos al hombre a nuestra imagen. Él tendrá poder sobre los peces, las aves, los animales domésticos y los salvajes, y sobre los que se arrastran por el suelo.»
27 Cuando Dios creó al hombre,
lo creó a su imagen;
varón y mujer los creó,
28 y les dio su bendición:
«Tengan muchos, muchos hijos;
llenen el mundo y gobiérnenlo;
dominen a los peces y a las aves,
y a todos los animales que se arrastran.»
29 Después les dijo: «Miren, a ustedes les doy todas las plantas de la tierra que producen semilla, y todos los árboles que dan fruto. Todo eso les servirá de alimento. 30 Pero a los animales salvajes, a los que se arrastran por el suelo y a las aves, les doy la hierba como alimento.»
Así fue, 31 y Dios vio que todo lo que había hecho estaba muy bien. De este modo se completó el sexto día.

The Message
Heaven and Earth
1 1-2 First this: God created the Heavens and Earth—all you see, all you don’t see. Earth was a soup of nothingness, a bottomless emptiness, an inky blackness. God’s Spirit brooded like a bird above the watery abyss.
3-5 God spoke: “Light!”
And light appeared.
God saw that light was good
and separated light from dark.
God named the light Day,
he named the dark Night.
It was evening, it was morning—
Day One.
6-8 God spoke: “Sky! In the middle of the waters;
separate water from water!”
God made sky.
He separated the water under sky
from the water above sky.
And there it was:
he named sky the Heavens;
It was evening, it was morning—
Day Two.
9-10 God spoke: “Separate!
Water-beneath-Heaven, gather into one place;
Land, appear!”
And there it was.
God named the land Earth.
He named the pooled water Ocean.
God saw that it was good.
11-13 God spoke: “Earth, green up! Grow all varieties
of seed-bearing plants,
Every sort of fruit-bearing tree.”
And there it was.
Earth produced green seed-bearing plants,
all varieties,
And fruit-bearing trees of all sorts.
God saw that it was good.
It was evening, it was morning—
Day Three.
14-15 God spoke: “Lights! Come out!
Shine in Heaven’s sky!
Separate Day from Night.
Mark seasons and days and years,
Lights in Heaven’s sky to give light to Earth.”
And there it was.
16-19 God made two big lights, the larger
to take charge of Day,
The smaller to be in charge of Night;
and he made the stars.
God placed them in the heavenly sky
to light up Earth
And oversee Day and Night,
to separate light and dark.
God saw that it was good.
It was evening, it was morning—
Day Four.
20-23 God spoke: “Swarm, Ocean, with fish and all sea life!
Birds, fly through the sky over Earth!”
God created the huge whales,
all the swarm of life in the waters,
And every kind and species of flying birds.
God saw that it was good.
God blessed them: “Prosper! Reproduce! Fill Ocean!
Birds, reproduce on Earth!”
It was evening, it was morning—
Day Five.
24-25 God spoke: “Earth, generate life! Every sort and kind:
cattle and reptiles and wild animals—all kinds.”
And there it was:
wild animals of every kind,
Cattle of all kinds, every sort of reptile and bug.
God saw that it was good.
26-28 God spoke: “Let us make human beings in our image, make them
reflecting our nature
So they can be responsible for the fish in the sea,
the birds in the air, the cattle,
And, yes, Earth itself,
and every animal that moves on the face of Earth.”
God created human beings;
he created them godlike,
Reflecting God’s nature.
He created them male and female.
God blessed them:
“Prosper! Reproduce! Fill Earth! Take charge!
Be responsible for fish in the sea and birds in the air,
for every living thing that moves on the face of Earth.”
29-30 Then God said, “I’ve given you
every sort of seed-bearing plant on Earth
And every kind of fruit-bearing tree,
given them to you for food.
To all animals and all birds,
everything that moves and breathes,
I give whatever grows out of the ground for food.”
And there it was.
31 God looked over everything he had made;
it was so good, so very good!
It was evening, it was morning—

1 In the beginning Elohim created heaven and earth.
2 The earth was formless and empty, and darkness covered the deep water. The Ruach Elohim was hovering over the water.
3 Then Elohim said, “Let there be light!” So there was light. 4 Elohim saw the light was good. So Elohim separated the light from the darkness. 5 Elohim named the light day, and the darkness he named night. There was evening, then morning—the first day.
6 Then Elohim said, “Let there be a horizon in the middle of the water in order to separate the water.” 7 So Elohim made the horizon and separated the water above and below the horizon. And so it was. 8 Elohim named what was above the horizon sky. There was evening, then morning—a second day.
9 Then Elohim said, “Let the water under the sky come together in one area, and let the dry land appear.” And so it was. 10 Elohim named the dry land earth. The water which came together he named sea. Elohim saw that it was good. 11 Then Elohim said, “Let the earth produce vegetation: plants bearing seeds, each according to its own type, and fruit trees bearing fruit with seeds, each according to its own type.” And so it was. 12 The earth produced vegetation: plants bearing seeds, each according to its own type, and trees bearing fruit with seeds, each according to its own type. Elohim saw that they were good. 13 There was evening, then morning—a third day.
14 Then Elohim said, “Let there be lights in the sky to separate the day from the night. They will be signs and will mark religious festivals, days, and years. 15 They will be lights in the sky to shine on the earth.” And so it was. 16 Elohim made the two bright lights: the larger light to rule the day and the smaller light to rule the night. He also made the stars. 17 Elohim put them in the sky to give light to the earth, 18 to dominate the day and the night, and to separate the light from the darkness. Elohim saw that it was good. 19 There was evening, then morning—a fourth day.
20 Then Elohim said, “Let the water swarm with swimming creatures, and let birds fly through the sky over the earth.” 21 So Elohim created the large sea creatures, every type of creature that swims around in the water and every type of flying bird. Elohim saw that they were good. 22 Elohim blessed them and said, “Be fertile, increase in number, fill the sea, and let there be many birds on the earth.” 23 There was evening, then morning—a fifth day.
24 Then Elohim said, “Let the earth produce every type of living creature: every type of domestic animal, crawling animal, and wild animal.” And so it was. 25 Elohim made every type of wild animal, every type of domestic animal, and every type of creature that crawls on the ground. Elohim saw that they were good.
26 Then Elohim said, “Let us make humans in our image, in our likeness. Let them rule the fish in the sea, the birds in the sky, the domestic animals all over the earth, and all the animals that crawl on the earth.”
27 So Elohim created humans in his image.
In the image of Elohim he created them.
He created them male and female.
28 Elohim blessed them and said, “Be fertile, increase in number, fill the earth, and be its master. Rule the fish in the sea, the birds in the sky, and all the animals that crawl on the earth.”
29 Elohim said, “I have given you every plant with seeds on the face of the earth and every tree that has fruit with seeds. This will be your food. 30 I have given all green plants as food to every land animal, every bird in the sky, and every animal that crawls on the earth—every living, breathing animal.” And so it was.
31 And Elohim saw everything that he had made and that it was very good. There was evening, then morning—the sixth day.

3 Gud sade: "Varde ljus!" Och det blev ljus. 4 Gud såg att ljuset var gott, och han skilde ljuset från mörkret. 5 Gud kallade ljuset dag, och mörkret kallade han natt. Och det blev afton och det blev morgon. Det var den första dagen.
6 Gud sade: "Varde mitt i vattnet ett valv som skiljer vatten från vatten!" 7 Gud gjorde valvet och skilde vattnet under valvet från vattnet ovan valvet. Och det skedde så. 8 Gud kallade valvet himmel. Och det blev afton och det blev morgon. Det var den andra dagen.
9 Gud sade: "Vattnet under himlen skall samlas till en enda plats så att det torra blir synligt." Och det skedde så. 10 Gud kallade det torra land, och vattensamlingen kallade han hav. Och Gud såg att det var gott. 11 Gud sade: "Jorden skall frambringa grönska och fröbärande örter. Fruktträd, som efter sina slag bär frukt med frö i sig, skall växa upp på jorden." Och det skedde så. 12 Jorden frambringade grönska, fröbärande örter efter sina slag och träd som efter sina slag bär frukt med frö i sig. Och Gud såg att det var gott. 13 Och det blev afton och det blev morgon. Det var den tredje dagen.
14 Gud sade: "Varde på himlavalvet ljus som skiljer dagen från natten!" De skall vara tecken som utmärker särskilda tider, dagar och år, 15 och de skall vara ljus på himlavalvet som lyser över jorden." Och det skedde så. 16 Gud gjorde de två stora ljusen, det större att härska över dagen och det mindre att härska över natten, likaså stjärnorna. 17 Han satte dem på himlavalvet till att lysa över jorden, 18 till att härska över dagen och natten och till att skilja ljuset från mörkret. Och Gud såg att det var gott. 19 Och det blev afton och det blev morgon. Det var den fjärde dagen.
20 Gud sade: "Vattnet skall vimla av levande varelser, och fåglar skall flyga över jorden under himlavalvet." 21 Och Gud skapade de stora havsdjuren och alla levande varelser som rör sig i vattnet och som vattnet vimlar av, alla efter deras slag, likaså alla bevingade fåglar efter deras slag. Och Gud såg att det var gott. 22 Gud välsignade dem och sade: "Var fruktsamma och föröka er och uppfyll vattnet i haven. Också fåglarna skall föröka sig på jorden." 23 Och det blev afton och det blev morgon. Det var den femte dagen.
24 Gud sade: "Jorden skall frambringa levande varelser efter deras slag, boskapsdjur, kräldjur och jordens vilda djur efter deras slag." Och det skedde så. 25 Gud gjorde jordens vilda djur efter deras slag, boskapsdjuren efter deras slag och alla kräldjur på marken efter deras slag. Och Gud såg att det var gott.
26 Gud sade: "Låt oss göra människor till vår avbild, till att vara lika oss. De skall råda över fiskarna i havet och över fåglarna under himlen, över boskapsdjuren och över hela jorden och över alla kräldjur som rör sig på jorden." 27 Och Gud skapade människan till sin avbild, till Guds avbild skapade han henne, till man och kvinna skapade han dem. 28 Gud välsignade dem och sade till dem: "Var fruktsamma och föröka er och uppfyll jorden! Lägg den under er och råd över fiskarna i havet, över fåglarna under himlen och över alla djur som rör sig på jorden!" 29 Och Gud sade: "Se, jag ger er alla fröbärande örter på hela jorden och alla träd med frukt som har frö. Detta skall ni ha till föda. 30 Men åt alla djur på jorden, åt alla fåglar under himlen och åt allt som krälar på jorden, åt allt som har liv ger jag alla gröna örter till föda." Och det skedde så. 31 Gud såg på allt som han hade gjort, och se, det var mycket gott. Och det blev afton och det blev morgon. Det var den sjätte dagen.
