3 “人献供物为平安[a]祭,若是从牛群中献,无论是公的是母的,必用没有残疾的献在耶和华面前。 2 他要按手在供物的头上,宰于会幕门口。亚伦子孙做祭司的,要把血洒在坛的周围。 3 从平安祭中,将火祭献给耶和华,也要把盖脏的脂油和脏上所有的脂油, 4 并两个腰子和腰子上的脂油,就是靠腰两旁的脂油,与肝上的网子和腰子,一概取下。 5 亚伦的子孙要把这些烧在坛的燔祭上,就是在火的柴上,是献于耶和华为馨香的火祭。
6 “人向耶和华献供物为平安祭,若是从羊群中献,无论是公的是母的,必用没有残疾的。 7 若献一只羊羔为供物,必在耶和华面前献上, 8 并要按手在供物的头上,宰于会幕前。亚伦的子孙要把血洒在坛的周围。 9 从平安祭中,将火祭献给耶和华,其中的脂油和整肥尾巴都要在靠近脊骨处取下,并要把盖脏的脂油和脏上所有的脂油, 10 两个腰子和腰子上的脂油,就是靠腰两旁的脂油,并肝上的网子和腰子,一概取下。 11 祭司要在坛上焚烧,是献给耶和华为食物的火祭。
12 “人的供物若是山羊,必在耶和华面前献上, 13 要按手在山羊头上,宰于会幕前。亚伦的子孙要把血洒在坛的周围。 15 又把盖脏的脂油和脏上所有的脂油,两个腰子和腰子上的脂油,就是靠腰两旁的脂油,并肝上的网子和腰子,一概取下,献给耶和华为火祭。 16 祭司要在坛上焚烧,作为馨香火祭的食物。脂油都是耶和华的, 17 在你们一切的住处,脂油和血都不可吃,这要成为你们世世代代永远的定例。”

Laws for Peace Offerings
3 “If his offering is (A)a sacrifice of peace offering, if he offers an animal from the herd, male or female, (B)he shall offer it (C)without blemish before the Lord. 2 And (D)he shall lay his hand on the head of his offering and kill it at the entrance of the tent of meeting, and Aaron's sons the priests shall throw the blood against the sides of the altar. 3 And from the sacrifice of the peace offering, as a food offering to the Lord, he shall offer (E)the fat covering the entrails and all the fat that is on the entrails, 4 (F)and the two kidneys with the fat that is on them at the loins, and the long lobe of the liver that he shall remove with the kidneys. 5 Then Aaron's sons (G)shall burn it on the altar on top of the burnt offering, which is on the wood on the fire; it is a food offering with a pleasing aroma to the Lord.
6 “If his offering for a sacrifice of peace offering to the Lord is an animal from the flock, male or female, he shall offer it (H)without blemish. 7 If he offers a lamb for his offering, then he shall offer it before the Lord, 8 lay his hand on the head of his offering, and kill it in front of the tent of meeting; and Aaron's sons shall throw its blood against the sides of the altar. 9 Then from the sacrifice of the peace offering he shall offer as a food offering to the Lord its fat; he shall remove the whole (I)fat tail, cut off close to the backbone, and the fat that covers the entrails and all the fat that is on the entrails 10 and the two kidneys with the fat that is on them at the loins and the long lobe of the liver that he shall remove (J)with the kidneys. 11 And the priest shall burn it on the altar as (K)a food offering to the Lord.
12 “If his offering is a goat, then he shall offer it before the Lord 13 and lay his hand on its head and kill it in front of the tent of meeting, and the sons of Aaron shall throw its blood against the sides of the altar. 14 Then he shall offer from it, as his offering for a food offering to the Lord, the fat covering the entrails and all the fat that is on the entrails 15 and the two kidneys with the fat that is on them at the loins and the long lobe of the liver that he shall remove (L)with the kidneys. 16 And the priest shall burn them on the altar as a (M)food offering with a pleasing aroma. (N)All fat is the Lord's. 17 It shall be a statute forever throughout your generations, in all your dwelling places, that you eat neither (O)fat nor (P)blood.”

The Fellowship Offering
3 “‘If a person’s ·fellowship [or peace; well-being] offering [C demonstrated fellowship because the meat was to be eaten by the worshipers] to the Lord is from the herd, it may be a male or female, but it must ·have nothing wrong with it [be unblemished]. 2 The person must ·put [lay] his hand on the animal’s head [1:4] and ·kill [slaughter] it at the entrance to the Meeting Tent. Then Aaron’s sons, the priests, must ·sprinkle [dash] the blood on all sides of the altar. 3 From the ·fellowship [or peace; well-being] offering he must make a sacrifice by fire to the Lord. He must offer the fat of the animal’s inner organs (both the fat that is in them and that covers them), 4 both kidneys with the fat that is on them near the ·lower back muscle [loins], and the ·best part [appendage] of the liver, which he will remove with the kidneys. 5 Then the priests will ·burn these parts [L turn these into smoke] on the altar, on the whole burnt offering that is on the wood of the fire. It is an offering made by fire, and its smell is pleasing to the Lord.

It is an offering made by fire, and its smell is pleasing to the Lord. All the fat belongs to the Lord [see v. 17].
17 “‘This ·law [statute; ordinance; requirement] will continue for people ·from now on [forever], ·wherever you live [L in all your habitations/settlements]: You must not eat any fat [C perhaps considered the location of an animal’s strength; 7:22–25] or ·blood [C the source of life; 7:26–27; 17:10; 19:26; Gen. 9:4; Deut. 12:16, 23; 15:23].’”
