46 以色列帶著他所有的一切起程，到了別是巴，就向他父親以撒的 神獻祭。 2 神在夜間的異象中對以色列說：“雅各，雅各。”雅各說：“我在這裡。” 3 神說：“我是 神，就是你父親的 神；你不要怕下埃及去，因為我必使你在那裡成為大國。 4 我要親自與你一同下到埃及去，也必把你帶上來。約瑟要親手合上你的眼給你送終。” 5 雅各就從別是巴起程。以色列的眾子，用法老為雅各送來的車輛，接載他們的父親雅各，以及他們的孩子和妻子。 6 他們又帶著牲畜，和他們在迦南地所得的財物，來到埃及。這樣，雅各和他所有的子孫，都一同來了。 7 雅各把他的眾兒子、孫子、女兒、孫女和他所有的後裔，都一同帶到埃及去了。
雅各的子孫
8 來到埃及的以色列人，就是雅各和他的子孫，名單記在下面：雅各的長子是流本。 9 流本的兒子是哈諾、法路、希斯崙和迦米。 10 西緬的兒子是耶母利、雅憫、阿轄、雅斤、瑣轄和迦南女子所生的掃羅。 11 利未的兒子是革順、哥轄和米拉利。 12 猶大的兒子是珥、俄南、示拉、法勒斯和謝拉，但是珥和俄南都在迦南地死了。法勒斯的兒子是希斯倫和哈母勒。 13 以薩迦的兒子是陀拉、普瓦、雅述（按照《按照馬拉文本》，“雅述”作“喲伯”；現參照《撒瑪利亞五經》和《七十士譯本》翻譯；參民26:24及代上7:1）和伸崙。 14 西布倫的兒子是西烈、以倫和雅利。 15 以上這些人是利亞在巴旦．亞蘭給雅各生的兒子，另外還有女兒底拿。這些子孫一共三十三人。 16 迦得的兒子是洗非芸、哈基、書尼、以斯本、以利、亞羅底和亞列利。 17 亞設的兒子是音拿、亦施瓦、亦施韋和比利亞，還有他們的姊妹西拉。比利亞的兒子是希別和瑪結。 18 以上這些人是拉班給女兒利亞作婢女的悉帕給雅各生的子孫，一共十六人。 19 雅各的妻子拉結，生了約瑟和便雅憫。 20 約瑟在埃及地生了瑪拿西和以法蓮，就是安城的祭司波提非拉的女兒亞西納給約瑟生的。 21 便雅憫的兒子是比拉、比結、亞實別、基拉、乃幔、以希、羅實、母平、戶平和亞勒。 22 以上這些人是拉結給雅各生的子孫，一共十四人。 23 但的兒子是戶伸。 24 拿弗他利的兒子是雅薛、沽尼、耶色和示冷。 25 以上這些人是拉班給女兒拉結作婢女的辟拉給雅各生的子孫，一共七人。 26 所有從雅各所生、與雅各一同來到埃及的人，除了他的兒婦之外，一共六十六人。 27 另外還有約瑟在埃及所生的兩個兒子。雅各家來到埃及的所有成員，一共七十人。
約瑟到歌珊迎接父親
28 雅各派猶大先到約瑟那裡去，請約瑟指教他去歌珊的路。於是他們來到歌珊地。 29 約瑟預備了車，上去歌珊迎接他的父親以色列。約瑟一看見他，就伏在他的頸項上，在他的頸項上哭了很久。 30 以色列對約瑟說：“這一次我看見了你的面，知道你還在，我死了也甘心。” 31 約瑟對他的兄弟們和他的父家說：“我要上去告訴法老，對他說：‘我在迦南地的兄弟們和我的父家，都到我這裡來了。 32 這些人都是牧羊人，以牧養牲畜為生。他們把自己的牛羊和一切所有的，都帶來了。’ 33 法老召見你們的時候，如果問你們：‘你們是作甚麼的？’ 34 你們就要回答：‘僕人們從幼年直到現在，都是以牧養牲畜為生。我們和我們的祖先都是一樣。’這樣，你們就可以住在歌珊地，因為埃及人厭惡所有牧羊的人。”

Jacob Goes to Egypt
46 So Israel(A) set out with all that was his, and when he reached Beersheba,(B) he offered sacrifices(C) to the God of his father Isaac.(D)
2 And God spoke to Israel(E) in a vision at night(F) and said, “Jacob! Jacob!”
“Here I am,”(G) he replied.
3 “I am God, the God of your father,”(H) he said. “Do not be afraid(I) to go down to Egypt,(J) for I will make you into a great nation(K) there.(L) 4 I will go down to Egypt with you, and I will surely bring you back again.(M) And Joseph’s own hand will close your eyes.(N)”
5 Then Jacob left Beersheba,(O) and Israel’s(P) sons took their father Jacob and their children and their wives in the carts(Q) that Pharaoh had sent to transport him. 6 So Jacob and all his offspring went to Egypt,(R) taking with them their livestock and the possessions(S) they had acquired(T) in Canaan. 7 Jacob brought with him to Egypt(U) his sons and grandsons and his daughters and granddaughters—all his offspring.(V)
8 These are the names of the sons of Israel(W) (Jacob and his descendants) who went to Egypt:
Reuben the firstborn(X) of Jacob.
9 The sons of Reuben:(Y)
Hanok, Pallu,(Z) Hezron and Karmi.(AA)
10 The sons of Simeon:(AB)
Jemuel,(AC) Jamin, Ohad, Jakin, Zohar(AD) and Shaul the son of a Canaanite woman.
11 The sons of Levi:(AE)
Gershon,(AF) Kohath(AG) and Merari.(AH)
12 The sons of Judah:(AI)
Er,(AJ) Onan,(AK) Shelah, Perez(AL) and Zerah(AM) (but Er and Onan had died in the land of Canaan).(AN)
The sons of Perez:(AO)
Hezron and Hamul.(AP)
13 The sons of Issachar:(AQ)
Tola, Puah,[a](AR) Jashub[b](AS) and Shimron.
14 The sons of Zebulun:(AT)
Sered, Elon and Jahleel.
15 These were the sons Leah bore to Jacob in Paddan Aram,[c](AU) besides his daughter Dinah.(AV) These sons and daughters of his were thirty-three in all.
16 The sons of Gad:(AW)
Zephon,[d](AX) Haggi, Shuni, Ezbon, Eri, Arodi and Areli.
17 The sons of Asher:(AY)
Imnah, Ishvah, Ishvi and Beriah.
Their sister was Serah.
The sons of Beriah:
Heber and Malkiel.
18 These were the children born to Jacob by Zilpah,(AZ) whom Laban had given to his daughter Leah(BA)—sixteen in all.
19 The sons of Jacob’s wife Rachel:(BB)
Joseph and Benjamin.(BC) 20 In Egypt, Manasseh(BD) and Ephraim(BE) were born to Joseph(BF) by Asenath daughter of Potiphera, priest of On.[e](BG)
21 The sons of Benjamin:(BH)
Bela, Beker, Ashbel, Gera, Naaman, Ehi, Rosh, Muppim, Huppim and Ard.(BI)
22 These were the sons of Rachel(BJ) who were born to Jacob—fourteen in all.
25 These were the sons born to Jacob by Bilhah,(BN) whom Laban had given to his daughter Rachel(BO)—seven in all.
26 All those who went to Egypt with Jacob—those who were his direct descendants, not counting his sons’ wives—numbered sixty-six persons.(BP) 27 With the two sons[f] who had been born to Joseph in Egypt,(BQ) the members of Jacob’s family, which went to Egypt, were seventy[g] in all.(BR)
28 Now Jacob sent Judah(BS) ahead of him to Joseph to get directions to Goshen.(BT) When they arrived in the region of Goshen, 29 Joseph had his chariot(BU) made ready and went to Goshen to meet his father Israel.(BV) As soon as Joseph appeared before him, he threw his arms around his father[h] and wept(BW) for a long time.(BX)
30 Israel(BY) said to Joseph, “Now I am ready to die, since I have seen for myself that you are still alive.”(BZ)
31 Then Joseph said to his brothers and to his father’s household, “I will go up and speak to Pharaoh and will say to him, ‘My brothers and my father’s household, who were living in the land of Canaan,(CA) have come to me.(CB) 32 The men are shepherds;(CC) they tend livestock,(CD) and they have brought along their flocks and herds and everything they own.’(CE) 33 When Pharaoh calls you in and asks, ‘What is your occupation?’(CF) 34 you should answer, ‘Your servants(CG) have tended livestock from our boyhood on, just as our fathers did.’(CH) Then you will be allowed to settle(CI) in the region of Goshen,(CJ) for all shepherds are detestable to the Egyptians.(CK)”

Jacob’s Journey to Egypt(A)
46 So Israel took his journey with all that he had, and came to (B)Beersheba, and offered sacrifices (C)to the God of his father Isaac. 2 Then God spoke to Israel (D)in the visions of the night, and said, “Jacob, Jacob!”
And he said, “Here I am.”
3 So He said, “I am God, (E)the God of your father; do not fear to go down to Egypt, for I will (F)make of you a great nation there. 4 (G)I will go down with you to Egypt, and I will also surely (H)bring you up again; and (I)Joseph [a]will put his hand on your eyes.”
5 Then (J)Jacob arose from Beersheba; and the sons of Israel carried their father Jacob, their little ones, and their wives, in the [b]carts (K)which Pharaoh had sent to carry him. 6 So they took their livestock and their goods, which they had acquired in the land of Canaan, and went to Egypt, (L)Jacob and all his descendants with him. 7 His sons and his sons’ sons, his daughters and his sons’ daughters, and all his descendants he brought with him to Egypt.
8 Now (M)these were the names of the children of Israel, Jacob and his sons, who went to Egypt: (N)Reuben was Jacob’s firstborn. 9 The (O)sons of Reuben were Hanoch, Pallu, Hezron, and Carmi. 10 (P)The sons of Simeon were [c]Jemuel, Jamin, Ohad, [d]Jachin, [e]Zohar, and Shaul, the son of a Canaanite woman. 11 The sons of (Q)Levi were Gershon, Kohath, and Merari. 12 The sons of (R)Judah were (S)Er, Onan, Shelah, Perez, and Zerah (but Er and Onan died in the land of Canaan). 26 (AI)All the persons who went with Jacob to Egypt, who came from his body, (AJ)besides Jacob’s sons’ wives, were sixty-six persons in all. 27 And the sons of Joseph who were born to him in Egypt were two persons. (AK)All the persons of the house of Jacob who went to Egypt were seventy.
Jacob Settles in Goshen
28 Then he sent Judah before him to Joseph, (AL)to point out before him the way to Goshen. And they came (AM)to the land of Goshen. 29 So Joseph made ready his (AN)chariot and went up to Goshen to meet his father Israel; and he presented himself to him, and (AO)fell on his neck and wept on his neck a good while.
30 And Israel said to Joseph, (AP)“Now let me die, since I have seen your face, because you are still alive.”
31 Then Joseph said to his brothers and to his father’s household, (AQ)“I will go up and tell Pharaoh, and say to him, ‘My brothers and those of my father’s house, who were in the land of Canaan, have come to me. 32 And the men are (AR)shepherds, for their occupation has been to feed livestock; and they have brought their flocks, their herds, and all that they have.’ 33 So it shall be, when Pharaoh calls you and says, (AS)‘What is your occupation?’ 34 that you shall say, ‘Your servants’ (AT)occupation has been with livestock (AU)from our youth even till now, both we and also our fathers,’ that you may dwell in the land of Goshen; for every shepherd is (AV)an[o] abomination to the Egyptians.”
