17 耶和华上帝又对亚当说：
“因为你听从妻子的话，
吃了我吩咐你不可吃的果子，
地必因你而受咒诅。
你必终生艰辛劳苦，
才能吃到地里出产的食物。
18 地必给你长出荆棘和蒺藜，
你要吃田间长出来的菜蔬。
19 你必汗流满面，才有饭吃，
一直到你归回尘土。
因为你是尘土造的，
也必归回尘土。”
20 亚当给他的妻子取名叫夏娃，因为她是众生之母。 21 耶和华上帝做了皮衣给他们夫妇穿。 22 耶和华上帝说：“看啊，那人已经与我们相似，能分辨善恶。现在，恐怕他会伸手去摘生命树的果子吃，那样他就会永远活着。” 23 因此，耶和华上帝就把亚当赶出伊甸园，让他去开垦土地——他的本源。 24 上帝赶走了亚当以后，就派遣基路伯天使驻守在伊甸园东边，又用一把旋转的火剑守护在通往生命树的路上。

17 耶和華 神又對亞當說：“因為你聽從了你妻子的話，吃了我吩咐你不可吃的那樹上的果子；
地就必因你的緣故受咒詛；
你必終生勞苦，才能從地裡得吃的。
18 地要給你長出荊棘和蒺藜來；
你也要吃田間的蔬菜；
19 你必汗流滿面，
才有飯吃，
直到你歸回地土，
因為你是從地土取出來的；
你既然是塵土，就要歸回塵土。”
被逐出伊甸園
20 亞當給他的妻子起名叫夏娃，因為她是眾生之母。 21 耶和華 神為亞當和他的妻子做了皮衣，給他們穿上。
22 耶和華 神說：“那人和我們中間的一個相似，能知善惡；現在恐怕他伸出手來，摘取生命樹上的果子吃，就永遠活著。” 23 耶和華 神就把他趕出伊甸園，去耕種他自己也是從那裡出來的地土。 24 於是把亞當驅逐出去，又派基路伯在伊甸園的東邊，拿著旋轉發火燄的劍，把守到生命樹去的路。

17 To Adam he said, “Because you listened to your wife and ate fruit from the tree about which I commanded you, ‘You must not eat from it,’(A)
“Cursed(B) is the ground(C) because of you;
through painful toil(D) you will eat food from it
all the days of your life.(E)
18 It will produce thorns and thistles(F) for you,
and you will eat the plants of the field.(G)
19 By the sweat of your brow(H)
you will eat your food(I)
until you return to the ground,
since from it you were taken;
for dust you are
and to dust you will return.”(J)
20 Adam[a] named his wife Eve,[b](K) because she would become the mother of all the living.
21 The Lord God made garments of skin for Adam and his wife and clothed them.(L) 22 And the Lord God said, “The man has now become like one of us,(M) knowing good and evil. He must not be allowed to reach out his hand and take also from the tree of life(N) and eat, and live forever.” 23 So the Lord God banished him from the Garden of Eden(O) to work the ground(P) from which he had been taken. 24 After he drove the man out, he placed on the east side[c] of the Garden of Eden(Q) cherubim(R) and a flaming sword(S) flashing back and forth to guard the way to the tree of life.(T)
