26 從前在亞伯拉罕的時候，曾經有過一次饑荒，現在那地又有饑荒，以撒就到基拉耳去，到非利士人的王亞比米勒那裡。 2 耶和華向以撒顯現，說：“你不要下到埃及去，要住在我所指示你的地方。 3 你要寄居在這地，我必與你同在，必賜福給你，因為我要把這全地都賜給你和你的後裔，履行我向你父親亞伯拉罕所起的誓。 4 我必使你的後裔增多，好像天上的星那樣多；我必把這全地都賜給你的後裔；地上的萬國都必因你的後裔得福。 5 這是因為亞伯拉罕聽從了我的話，遵守了我的吩咐、我的命令、我的條例和我的律法。” 6 於是，以撒就住在基拉耳。 7 那地方的人問起他的妻子，他就回答：“她是我的妹妹。”因為他不敢說：“她是我的妻子。”他心裡想：“恐怕這地方的人，因利百加的緣故把我殺了，因為她容貌美麗。” 8 以撒在那裡住了很久。有一天，非利士人的王亞比米勒從窗戶裡向外觀望，看見以撒正在愛撫他的妻子利百加。 9 亞比米勒於是把以撒召了來，對他說：“你看，她實在是你的妻子，你怎麼說是你的妹妹呢？”以撒回答他：“因為我心裡想：‘恐怕我因她的緣故喪命。’” 10 亞比米勒說：“你向我們作的是甚麼事呢？人民中間險些有人與你的妻子同睡，那你就把我們陷在罪惡裡了。” 11 於是，亞比米勒吩咐全國人民，說：“凡是觸犯這人或是他的妻子的，必被處死。”

你不要怕，因為我與你同在；
我必為了我僕人亞伯拉罕的緣故，
賜福給你，使你的後裔增多。”
25 以撒就在那裡築了一座祭壇，呼求耶和華的名；又在那裡支搭帳棚；以撒的僕人也在那裡挖了一口井。

26 亞比米勒和他的朋友亞戶撒，以及他的軍長非各，從基拉耳來到以撒那裡。 27 以撒問他們：“你們既然恨我，把我從你們中間趕出來，為甚麼又到我這裡來呢？” 28 他們回答：“我們實在看見耶和華與你同在，因此我們想：‘不如我們雙方起誓。’讓我們與你立約吧； 29 你不要傷害我們，正如我們從來沒有觸犯你，只有善待你，讓你平平安安地離開。現在你是蒙耶和華賜福的了。” 30 以撒就為他們擺設筵席，他們就一起吃喝。 31 第二天，他們清早起來，彼此起誓；以撒就送他們走，他們平平安安地離開他走了。 32 那一天，以撒的僕人來把他們挖井的事告訴他，說：“我們找到水了。” 33 以撒就給那井起名叫示巴，因此那城名叫別是巴，直到今日。

26 В земле был голод, – не тот прежний голод, который был при Иброхиме, – и Исхок пошёл к Абималику, царю филистимлян, в Герар. 2 Вечный явился Исхоку и сказал:
– Не иди в Египет; живи на той земле, где Я скажу тебе жить. 3 Поселись на этой земле на время, и Я буду с тобой и благословлю тебя, потому что Я исполню клятву, которую дал твоему отцу Иброхиму, и дам все эти земли тебе и твоим потомкам. 4 Я сделаю твоё потомство многочисленным, как звёзды на небе, и дам им все эти земли, и через твоё потомство[a] получат благословение все народы на земле, 5 потому что Иброхим слушался Меня и хранил Мои повеления, заповеди, уставы и законы.
6 И Исхок поселился в Гераре. 7 Когда жители того места спросили у него о его жене, он сказал: «Это моя сестра», потому что боялся сказать: «Это моя жена». Он думал: «Жители этого места могут убить меня из-за Рабиги, потому что она красива».

Спор с филистимлянами о колодцах
12 Исхок засеял поля в той земле и в тот же год собрал урожай стократно, и Вечный благословил его: 13 он разбогател, и состояние его всё росло, пока он не стал очень богатым. 14 У него были такие большие стада мелкого и крупного скота, и столько слуг, что филистимляне завидовали ему. 15 Они засыпали землёй все колодцы, которые ещё во времена его отца выкопали слуги отца его Иброхима.
16 И Абималик сказал Исхоку:
– Уходи от нас; ты стал слишком силён для нас.
17 Исхок ушёл оттуда, поселился в Герарской долине и обосновался там. 18 Исхок расчистил колодцы, которые были выкопаны во времена его отца Иброхима, а затем засыпаны филистимлянами после его смерти, и дал им те же названия, какие прежде дал его отец.

25 Исхок построил там жертвенник и призвал имя Вечного, и поставил там шатёр, а его слуги выкопали колодец.
26 Абималик пришёл к нему из Герара вместе с Ахуззатом, своим личным советником, и Фихолом, начальником его войска. 27 Исхок спросил их:
– Зачем вы пришли, ведь вы были враждебны ко мне и прогнали меня?
28 Они ответили:
– Теперь нам ясно, что с тобой Вечный, и мы решили: у нас должно быть клятвенное соглашение, между нами и тобой. Давай заключим договор, 29 что ты не причинишь нам вреда, как и мы не тронули тебя, но всегда обходились с тобой хорошо и отпустили тебя с миром. А теперь ты благословлён Вечным.
30 Исхок устроил для них пир, и они ели и пили. 31 На другой день рано утром они дали друг другу клятву; Исхок простился с ними, и они ушли от него с миром.
32 В тот же день слуги Исхока пришли и рассказали ему о колодце, который они выкопали. Они сказали:
– Мы нашли воду!
33 Он назвал его Шева («клятва»), и до сего дня имя этого города – Беэр-Шева («колодец клятвы», «колодец семи»).
Жёны Эсова
34 Когда Эсову было сорок лет, он женился на Иегудифи, дочери хетта Беэри, и на Басемафе, дочери хетта Елона; 35 и от них было много огорчения Исхоку и Рабиге.

Isaac and Abimelech
26 There was a famine in the land, besides (A)the first famine that was in the days of Abraham. And Isaac went to (B)Abimelech king of the Philistines, in Gerar.
2 Then the Lord appeared to him and said: (C)“Do not go down to Egypt; live in (D)the land of which I shall tell you. 3 (E)Dwell in this land, and (F)I will be with you and (G)bless you; for to you and your descendants (H)I give all these lands, and I will perform (I)the oath which I swore to Abraham your father. 4 And (J)I will make your descendants multiply as the stars of heaven; I will give to your descendants all these lands; (K)and in your seed all the nations of the earth shall be blessed; 5 (L)because Abraham obeyed My voice and kept My charge, My commandments, My statutes, and My laws.”
6 So Isaac dwelt in Gerar. 7 And the men of the place asked about his wife. And (M)he said, “She is my sister”; for (N)he was afraid to say, “She is my wife,” because he thought, “lest the men of the place kill me for Rebekah, because she is (O)beautiful to behold.” 8 Now it came to pass, when he had been there a long time, that Abimelech king of the Philistines looked through a window, and saw, and there was Isaac, [a]showing endearment to Rebekah his wife. 9 Then Abimelech called Isaac and said, “Quite obviously she is your wife; so how could you say, ‘She is my sister’?”
Isaac said to him, “Because I said, ‘Lest I die on account of her.’ ”
10 And Abimelech said, “What is this you have done to us? One of the people might soon have lain with your wife, and (P)you would have brought guilt on us.” 11 So Abimelech charged all his people, saying, “He who (Q)touches this man or his wife shall surely be put to death.”
12 Then Isaac sowed in that land, and reaped in the same year (R)a hundredfold; and the Lord (S)blessed him. 13 The man (T)began to prosper, and continued prospering until he became very prosperous; 14 for he had possessions of flocks and possessions of herds and a great number of servants. So the Philistines (U)envied him. 15 Now the Philistines had stopped up all the wells (V)which his father’s servants had dug in the days of Abraham his father, and they had filled them with earth. 16 And Abimelech said to Isaac, “Go away from us, for (W)you are much mightier than we.”
17 Then Isaac departed from there and [b]pitched his tent in the Valley of Gerar, and dwelt there. 18 And Isaac dug again the wells of water which they had dug in the days of Abraham his father, for the Philistines had stopped them up after the death of Abraham. (X)He called them by the names which his father had called them.
19 Also Isaac’s servants dug in the valley, and found a well of running water there. 20 But the herdsmen of Gerar (Y)quarreled with Isaac’s herdsmen, saying, “The water is ours.” So he called the name of the well [c]Esek, because they quarreled with him. 21 Then they dug another well, and they quarreled over that one also. So he called its name [d]Sitnah. 22 And he moved from there and dug another well, and they did not quarrel over it. So he called its name [e]Rehoboth, because he said, “For now the Lord has made room for us, and we shall (Z)be fruitful in the land.”
23 Then he went up from there to Beersheba. 24 And the Lord (AA)appeared to him the same night and said, (AB)“I am the God of your father Abraham; (AC)do not fear, for (AD)I am with you. I will bless you and multiply your descendants for My servant Abraham’s sake.” 25 So he (AE)built an altar there and (AF)called on the name of the Lord, and he pitched his tent there; and there Isaac’s servants dug a well.
26 Then Abimelech came to him from Gerar with Ahuzzath, one of his friends, (AG)and Phichol the commander of his army. 27 And Isaac said to them, “Why have you come to me, (AH)since you hate me and have (AI)sent me away from you?”
28 But they said, “We have certainly seen that the Lord (AJ)is with you. So we said, ‘Let there now be an oath between us, between you and us; and let us make a [f]covenant with you, 29 that you will do us no harm, since we have not touched you, and since we have done nothing to you but good and have sent you away in peace. (AK)You are now the blessed of the Lord.’ ”
30 (AL)So he made them a feast, and they ate and drank. 31 Then they arose early in the morning and (AM)swore an oath with one another; and Isaac sent them away, and they departed from him in peace.
32 It came to pass the same day that Isaac’s servants came and told him about the well which they had dug, and said to him, “We have found water.” 33 So he called it [g]Shebah. (AN)Therefore the name of the city is [h]Beersheba to this day.
34 (AO)When Esau was forty years old, he took as wives Judith the daughter of Beeri the Hittite, and Basemath the daughter of Elon the Hittite. 35 And (AP)they were a grief of mind to Isaac and Rebekah.
