10 以色列王说：“哀哉！耶和华召集我们这三王，是要交在摩押人的手里。” 11 约沙法说：“这里不是有耶和华的先知吗？我们可以托他求问耶和华。”以色列王的一个大臣回答说：“这里有沙法的儿子以利沙，就是从前服事以利亚的[a]。” 12 约沙法说：“他必有耶和华的话。”于是以色列王、约沙法和以东王都下去见他。

10 “What!” exclaimed the king of Israel. “Has the Lord called us three kings together only to deliver us into the hands of Moab?”
11 But Jehoshaphat asked, “Is there no prophet of the Lord here, through whom we may inquire(A) of the Lord?”
An officer of the king of Israel answered, “Elisha(B) son of Shaphat is here. He used to pour water on the hands of Elijah.[a](C)”
12 Jehoshaphat said, “The word(D) of the Lord is with him.” So the king of Israel and Jehoshaphat and the king of Edom went down to him.
