21 玛拿西登基的时候是十二岁；他在耶路撒冷作王五十五年，他的母亲名叫协西巴。

2 他行耶和华看为恶的事，好象耶和华在以色列人面前赶走的民族所行的可憎恶的事。 3 他重新建造邱坛，就是他父亲希西家所拆毁的；又为巴力建立祭坛，做亚舍拉，好象以色列王亚哈所做的，并且敬拜事奉天上的万象。 4 他又在耶和华的殿内建造祭坛，耶和华曾指着这殿说：“我要立我的名在耶路撒冷。” 5 他又在耶和华殿的两院中为天上的万象建造祭坛。 6 他又把他的儿子用火烧为祭（“把他的儿子用火烧为祭”直译是“使他的儿子经过进入火中”），并且算命、观兆，交鬼和行巫术；多行耶和华看为恶的事，惹他发怒。 7 他又把自己所做的亚舍拉雕像安放在圣殿中，耶和华曾对大卫和他的儿子所罗门论到这殿说：“我要在这殿和我从以色列众支派中拣选的耶路撒冷，立我的名，直到永远。 8 只要以色列人谨守遵行我吩咐他们的一切，就是我的仆人摩西吩咐他们的一切律法，我必不会再使他们的脚离开我赐给他们祖先的土地，流离飘荡。” 9 但是他们没有听从。玛拿西引诱他们去作坏事，比耶和华从以色列人面前消灭的外族人更厉害。
10 于是耶和华借着他的仆人众先知说： 11 “因为犹大王玛拿西所作这些可憎恶的事，比在他以前的亚摩利人所行的恶更坏，并且以他的偶像使犹大人犯罪。 12 所以，耶和华以色列的 神这样说：‘看哪，我要把灾祸降在耶路撒冷和犹大，使听见的人，双耳都要刺痛。 13 我要用量度撒玛利亚的准绳和测试亚哈家的铅锤，测量耶路撒冷；我要抹净耶路撒冷，像人抹净盘子一样。抹完了，就把盘子翻转过来。 14 我要舍弃我的产业的余民，把他们交在他们的仇敌手上；他们要成为他们的仇敌的掠物和战利品。 15 因为自从他们的祖先从埃及出来的那天，直到今日，他们一直行我看为恶的事，惹我发怒。’”

Evil Manasseh Reigns after Godly Hezekiah
21 Manasseh was twelve years old when he began to reign, and he reigned fifty-five years in Jerusalem. The name of his mother was Hephzibah. 2 He did evil in the eyes of Yahweh, according to the detestable things of the nations that Yahweh had driven out from the presence of the Israelites.[a] 3 He returned and rebuilt the high places which Hezekiah his father had destroyed. He erected altars for Baal and made a pole of Asherah worship just as Ahab king of Israel had made, and he bowed down to all of the host of heaven and served them. 4 He built altars in the temple of Yahweh about which Yahweh had said, “I will put my name in Jerusalem.” 5 He built an altar to all of the host of heaven in the two courtyards of the temple of Yahweh. 6 He made his son pass through the fire, practiced soothsaying and divination, and dealt with mediums and spiritists. He increased the doing of evil in the eyes of Yahweh to provoke him. 7 He put the image of the Asherah that he had made in the temple which Yahweh had said to David and to Solomon his son, “In this temple and in Jerusalem which I have chosen from all of the tribes of Israel, I will put my name forever. 8 I will not again make the feet of Israel wander from the land which I have given to their ancestors,[b] if they only observe to do according to all that I have commanded them, as far as the law that Moses my servant commanded them.” 9 But Manasseh did not listen and tempted them to do evil more than the nations that Yahweh destroyed before the presence of the Israelites.[c]
Yahweh Sends a Rebuke to Manasseh
10 So Yahweh spoke by the hand of his servants the prophets, saying, 11 “Because Manasseh the king of Judah committed these detestable things and did evil more than the Amorites did who were before him and caused even Judah to sin with his idols, 12 therefore, thus says Yahweh the God of Israel, ‘Look, I am bringing disaster upon Jerusalem and Judah about which the two ears of all who hear it will tingle. 13 I will stretch out over Jerusalem the measuring line of Samaria and the plumb line of the house of Ahab, and I will wipe Jerusalem as one wipes the dish; he wipes it and turns it on its face. 14 I will give up the remainder of my inheritance, and I will give them into the hand of their enemies. They shall become as prey and as spoil for all their enemies, 15 because they have done evil in my eyes and were provoking me from the day that their ancestors[d] came out from Egypt up to this day.’”
16 Moreover, Manasseh shed very much innocent blood until he filled Jerusalem from one end to another,[e] apart from his sin which he caused Judah to sin by doing evil in the eyes of Yahweh. 17 The remainder of the acts of Manasseh and all that he did and his sin that he committed, are they not written on the scroll of the events of the days of the kings of Judah? 18 Then Manasseh slept with his ancestors[f] and was buried in the garden of his palace, in the garden of Uzza. Amon his son became king in his place.
Amon Reigns in Judah Only Two Years
19 Amon was twenty-two years old when he began to reign, and he reigned two years in Jerusalem. The name of his mother was Meshullemeth the daughter of Haruz from Jotbah. 20 He did evil in the eyes of Yahweh as Manasseh his father had done. 21 He walked in all of the way which his father had walked, and he served the idols which his father had served and bowed down to them. 22 He abandoned Yahweh the God of his ancestors[g] and did not walk in the way of Yahweh. 23 The servants of Amon conspired against him and killed the king in his palace. 24 But the people of the land killed all who conspired against the king and made Josiah his son king in his place. 25 The remainder of the acts of Amon that he did, are they not written on the scroll of the events of the days of the kings of Judah? 26 They buried him in his tomb in the garden of Uzza, and Josiah his son became king in place of him.

21 Manasse aveva dodici anni quando iniziò a regnare, e regnò cinquantacinque anni a Gerusalemme. Sua madre si chiamava Heftsibah.
2 Egli fece ciò che è male agli occhi dell'Eterno, secondo le abominazioni delle nazioni che l'Eterno aveva scacciato davanti ai figli d'Israele.
3 Egli ricostruí gli alti luoghi che Ezechia suo padre aveva distrutto, eresse altari a Baal, fece un'Ascerah come aveva fatto Achab, re d'Israele; e adorò tutto l'esercito del cielo e lo serví.

7 Mise addirittura un'immagine scolpita di Ascerah, che aveva fatto, nel tempio, di cui l'Eterno aveva detto a Davide e a Salomone suo figlio: «In questo tempio e a Gerusalemme, che ho scelto fra tutte le tribú d'Israele, porrò il mio nome per sempre;
8 e non farò piú errare il piede d'Israele lontano dal paese che ho dato ai loro padri, purché essi abbiano cura di mettere in pratica tutto ciò che ho loro comandato e tutta la legge che il mio servo Mosè ha loro prescritto».
9 Ma essi non ascoltarono, e Manasse li indusse a fare peggio delle nazioni che l'Eterno aveva distrutto davanti ai figli d'Israele.
10 Allora l'Eterno parlò per mezzo dei suoi servi, i profeti, dicendo:
11 «Poiché Manasse, re di Giuda, ha commesso queste abominazioni (ha fatto maggior male di tutto quello fatto dagli Amorei, che furono prima di lui, e mediante i suoi idoli ha pure fatto peccare Giuda),
12 cosí dice l'Eterno, il DIO d'Israele: "Ecco, io faccio venire su Gerusalemme e su Giuda una tale sciagura, che chiunque ne sentirà parlare ne avrà entrambe le orecchie rintronate.
13 Stenderò su Gerusalemme la cordicella di misurazione di Samaria e il piombino della casa di Achab, e ripulirò Gerusalemme come si ripulisce un piatto che, una volta ripulito, lo si capovolge.
14 Cosí abbandonerò il residuo della mia eredità e li darò nelle mani dei loro nemici, ed essi diventeranno preda e bottino di tutti i loro nemici,
15 perché hanno fatto ciò che è male ai miei occhi e mi hanno provocato ad ira dal giorno che i loro padri uscirono dall'Egitto fino ad oggi"».
16 Manasse versò pure moltissimo sangue innocente, fino a riempire Gerusalemme da una estremità all'altra, oltre al suo peccato di far peccare Giuda, facendo ciò che è male agli occhi dell'Eterno.
17 Il resto delle gesta di Manasse, tutto ciò che fece e i peccati che commise, non è scritto nel libro delle Cronache dei re di Giuda?
18 Cosí Manasse si addormentò con i suoi padri e fu sepolto nel giardino del suo palazzo, nel giardino di Uzza. Al suo posto regnò suo figlio Amon.
19 Amon aveva ventidue anni quando iniziò a regnare, e regnò due anni a Gerusalemme. Sua madre si chiamava Meshullemeth, figlia di Haruts di Jotbah.
20 Egli fece ciò che è male agli occhi dell'Eterno, come aveva fatto suo padre Manasse.
