瑪拿西做猶大王

21 므낫세는 열두 살에 왕이 되어 예루살렘에서 오십오 년 동안 다스렸다. 그의 어머니의 이름은 헵시바였다. 2 그는 주께서 보시기에 악한 일을 하였다. 그는 주께서 이스라엘 백성 앞에서 쫓아내신 민족들의 역겨운 관습을 그대로 따랐다. 3 그는 자기 아버지 히스기야가 헐어 버린 산당들을 다시 지었다. 그리고 이스라엘 왕 아합이 한 것처럼 제단을 쌓아 바알에게 바치고 아세라 장대를 만들어 세웠다. 그는 하늘의 모든 별에게 절하고 그것들을 섬겼다. 4 일찍이 주께서는 “내가 예루살렘에 나의 이름을 두겠다.”라고 말씀하셨다. 그런데 그는 주의 성전에도 우상을 섬기는 제단을 만들었다. 5 그리고 주의 성전에 있는 두 개의 뜰에는 하늘의 모든 별을 섬기는 제단을 만들었다. 6 그는 자기 아들을 불살라 바칠 뿐만 아니라, 주문을 외우고 점을 치고, 영매와 강신술사[a]를 시켜 귀신을 불러 물어보기도 하였다. 그는 이렇게 주께서 보시기에 악한 일을 하여 주의 화를 돋우었다.
7 그는 자신의 손으로 직접 새겨 만든 아세라 장대를 성전 안에 두었다. 그러나 주께서는 일찍이 이 성전을 두고 다윗과 그의 아들 솔로몬에게 이렇게 말씀하셨다. “내가 이스라엘의 모든 가문 가운데서 택한 이 성전과 이 예루살렘에 나의 이름을 영원토록 두겠다. 8 만일 이스라엘 자손이 삼가 내가 명령한 모든 것을 지키고, 나의 종 모세가 일러 준 모든 율법을 지키면 내가 다시는 그들의 조상에게 준 땅에서 그들을 쫓아내지 않겠다.” 9 그러나 이스라엘 백성은 그 말씀에 귀를 기울이지 않았다. 오히려 므낫세는 주께서 그들 앞에서 멸망시킨 민족들보다도 악한 일을 더 많이 하도록 백성을 잘못 이끌었다.
10 주께서 당신의 종 예언자들을 통하여 이렇게 말씀하셨다. 11 “유다 왕 므낫세가 이처럼 혐오스러운 죄를 지었다. 그는 그보다 앞서 있었던 아모리 사람들보다 더 악한 일을 하고 우상을 만들어 유다가 죄를 짓도록 이끌었다. 12 그러므로 나 주 이스라엘의 하나님이 말한다. ‘내가 예루살렘과 유다에 재앙을 내리겠다. 이 소식을 듣는 사람마다 깜짝 놀라 가슴이 철렁 내려앉을 것이다. 13 내가 사마리아를 잰 측량줄과 아합 궁에 쓴 다림줄을 예루살렘에도 쓰겠다[b]. 또 사람이 접시를 깨끗이 닦아 엎어놓는 것처럼 내가 예루살렘을 깨끗이 닦아 버리겠다. 14 나는 내 소유인 내 백성 가운데, 살아남은 자들마저도 버리겠고 그들을 원수의 손에 넘겨주겠다. 그러면 그들은 모든 원수에게 털리고 약탈을 당할 것이다. 15 그들이 내가 보기에 악한 일을 하고, 그들의 조상이 이집트에서 나온 날부터 오늘에 이르기까지 나의 화를 돋우었기 때문이다. 16 므낫세는 유다로 하여금 나 주가 보기에 악한 일을 하도록 잘못 인도하는 죄를 지었다. 거기다가 그는 죄 없는 사람을 너무 많이 죽여서 예루살렘을 이 끝에서부터 저 끝까지 피로 가득 채웠다.’”
17 므낫세가 다스리는 동안에 일어난 일들과 그가 지은 죄를 비롯하여 그가 한 모든 일이 ‘유다 왕들의 역사’에 기록되어 있다. 18 므낫세는 죽어서 그의 궁궐 안에 있는 웃사의 정원에 묻혔다. 그의 아들 아몬이 그의 뒤를 이어서 왕이 되었다.

19 아몬은 스물두 살에 왕이 되어 예루살렘에서 두 해 동안 다스렸다. 그의 어머니는 욧바 사람 하루스의 딸 므술레멧이었다. 20 그는 자기 아버지 므낫세가 한 것과 같이 주께서 보시기에 악한 일을 하였다. 21 그는 자기 아버지가 걷던 길을 모두 따라 걸으며, 그의 아버지가 섬기던 우상들을 예배하고 그것들에게 절하였다. 22 그는 그의 조상들이 섬기던 주 하나님을 버리고 주의 길을 따라 살지 않았다.
23 결국 아몬의 신하들이 역모하여 궁궐 안에서 그를 암살하였다. 24 그러나 그 땅의 백성이 아몬 왕에게 반역한 신하들을 모두 죽이고, 그의 아들 요시야를 왕으로 세웠다.

Manassés reina em Judá
21 Manassés tinha 12 anos quando começou a reinar, e reinou em Jerusalém por 55 anos. Sua mãe se chamava Hefzibá. 2 Manassés fez o que era mau aos olhos do Senhor e seguiu as práticas detestáveis das nações que o Senhor havia expulsado de diante dos israelitas. 3 Reconstruiu os santuários idólatras que seu pai, Ezequias, havia destruído. Construiu altares para Baal e ergueu um poste de Aserá, como Acabe, rei de Israel, havia feito. Também se curvou diante de todos os astros dos céus e lhes prestou culto.
4 Construiu altares idólatras no templo do Senhor, sobre o qual o Senhor tinha dito: “Meu nome permanecerá em Jerusalém para sempre”. 5 Nos dois pátios do templo do Senhor, construiu altares para os astros do céu. 6 Manassés também sacrificou seu filho no fogo. Praticou feitiçaria e adivinhação e consultou médiuns e praticantes do ocultismo. Fez muitas coisas perversas aos olhos do Senhor e, com isso, provocou sua ira.
7 Manassés chegou a fazer uma imagem esculpida da deusa Aserá e colocá-la no templo, sobre o qual o Senhor tinha dito a Davi e a seu filho Salomão: “Meu nome será honrado para sempre neste templo em Jerusalém, a cidade que escolhi dentre todas as tribos de Israel. 8 Se os israelitas tiverem o cuidado de obedecer a meus mandamentos, todas as leis que meu servo Moisés lhes deu, não os expulsarei desta terra que dei a seus antepassados”. 9 Mas o povo se recusou a ouvir, e Manassés os levou a fazer coisas piores do que as nações que o Senhor tinha destruído quando os israelitas entraram na terra.
10 Então o Senhor disse por meio de seus servos, os profetas: 11 “Manassés, rei de Judá, fez muitas coisas detestáveis. É ainda mais perverso que os amorreus que habitavam nesta terra antes de Israel e fez o povo de Judá pecar com seus ídolos.[a] 12 Portanto, assim diz o Senhor, o Deus de Israel: Trarei desgraça tão grande sobre Jerusalém e Judá que fará tinir os ouvidos daqueles que ouvirem a respeito. 13 Julgarei Jerusalém de acordo com o mesmo critério que usei para julgar Samaria[b] e a família de Acabe. Limparei Jerusalém como quem limpa um prato e depois o vira de cabeça para baixo. 14 Rejeitarei até mesmo o remanescente de meu povo e o entregarei a seus inimigos como despojo. 15 Pois eles fizeram o que era mau aos meus olhos e provocaram minha ira desde que seus antepassados saíram do Egito”.
16 Além de levar o povo de Judá a pecar e fazer o que era mau aos olhos do Senhor, Manassés assassinou muitos inocentes, até encher Jerusalém do sangue deles, de uma extremidade à outra.
17 Os demais acontecimentos do reinado de Manassés e tudo que ele fez, incluindo os pecados que cometeu, estão registrados no Livro da História dos Reis de Judá. 18 Quando Manassés morreu e se reuniu a seus antepassados, foi sepultado no jardim de seu palácio, o jardim de Uzá. Seu filho Amom foi seu sucessor.
Amom reina em Judá
19 Amom tinha 22 anos quando começou a reinar, e reinou em Jerusalém por dois anos. Sua mãe se chamava Mesulemete e era filha de Haruz, de Jotbá. 20 Fez o que era mau aos olhos do Senhor, como seu pai, Manassés, havia feito. 21 Seguiu o exemplo de seu pai e adorou os mesmos ídolos que ele. 22 Abandonou o Senhor, o Deus de seus antepassados, e não andou nos caminhos do Senhor.
23 Os próprios oficiais de Amom conspiraram contra ele e o assassinaram em seu palácio. 24 Mas o povo da terra matou todos que haviam conspirado contra o rei Amom e proclamou rei seu filho Josias.
25 Os demais acontecimentos do reinado de Amom e tudo que ele fez estão registrados no Livro da História dos Reis de Judá. 26 Ele foi sepultado em seu túmulo no jardim de Uzá. Seu filho Josias foi seu sucessor.

Manasseh King of Judah(A)(B)
21 Manasseh was twelve years old when he became king, and he reigned in Jerusalem fifty-five years. His mother’s name was Hephzibah.(C) 2 He did evil(D) in the eyes of the Lord, following the detestable practices(E) of the nations the Lord had driven out before the Israelites. 3 He rebuilt the high places(F) his father Hezekiah had destroyed; he also erected altars to Baal(G) and made an Asherah pole,(H) as Ahab king of Israel had done. He bowed down to all the starry hosts(I) and worshiped them. 4 He built altars(J) in the temple of the Lord, of which the Lord had said, “In Jerusalem I will put my Name.”(K) 5 In the two courts(L) of the temple of the Lord, he built altars to all the starry hosts. 6 He sacrificed his own son(M) in the fire, practiced divination,(N) sought omens, and consulted mediums and spiritists.(O) He did much evil in the eyes of the Lord, arousing(P) his anger.
7 He took the carved Asherah pole(Q) he had made and put it in the temple,(R) of which the Lord had said to David and to his son Solomon, “In this temple and in Jerusalem, which I have chosen out of all the tribes of Israel, I will put my Name(S) forever. 8 I will not again(T) make the feet of the Israelites wander from the land I gave their ancestors, if only they will be careful to do everything I commanded them and will keep the whole Law that my servant Moses(U) gave them.” 9 But the people did not listen. Manasseh led them astray, so that they did more evil(V) than the nations(W) the Lord had destroyed before the Israelites.
10 The Lord said through his servants the prophets: 11 “Manasseh king of Judah has committed these detestable sins. He has done more evil(X) than the Amorites(Y) who preceded him and has led Judah into sin with his idols.(Z) 12 Therefore this is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says: I am going to bring such disaster(AA) on Jerusalem and Judah that the ears of everyone who hears of it will tingle.(AB) 13 I will stretch out over Jerusalem the measuring line used against Samaria and the plumb line(AC) used against the house of Ahab. I will wipe(AD) out Jerusalem as one wipes a dish, wiping it and turning it upside down. 14 I will forsake(AE) the remnant(AF) of my inheritance and give them into the hands of enemies. They will be looted and plundered by all their enemies; 15 they have done evil(AG) in my eyes and have aroused(AH) my anger from the day their ancestors came out of Egypt until this day.”
16 Moreover, Manasseh also shed so much innocent blood(AI) that he filled Jerusalem from end to end—besides the sin that he had caused Judah(AJ) to commit, so that they did evil in the eyes of the Lord.
17 As for the other events of Manasseh’s reign, and all he did, including the sin he committed, are they not written in the book of the annals of the kings of Judah? 18 Manasseh rested with his ancestors and was buried in his palace garden,(AK) the garden of Uzza. And Amon his son succeeded him as king.
Amon King of Judah(AL)
19 Amon was twenty-two years old when he became king, and he reigned in Jerusalem two years. His mother’s name was Meshullemeth daughter of Haruz; she was from Jotbah. 20 He did evil(AM) in the eyes of the Lord, as his father Manasseh had done. 21 He followed completely the ways of his father, worshiping the idols his father had worshiped, and bowing down to them. 22 He forsook(AN) the Lord, the God of his ancestors, and did not walk(AO) in obedience to him.
23 Amon’s officials conspired against him and assassinated(AP) the king in his palace. 24 Then the people of the land killed(AQ) all who had plotted against King Amon, and they made Josiah(AR) his son king in his place.
25 As for the other events of Amon’s reign, and what he did, are they not written in the book of the annals of the kings of Judah? 26 He was buried in his tomb in the garden(AS) of Uzza. And Josiah his son succeeded him as king.
