6 The priests then brought the ark of the Lord’s covenant(A) to its place in the inner sanctuary of the temple, the Most Holy Place,(B) and put it beneath the wings of the cherubim.(C) 7 The cherubim spread their wings over the place of the ark and overshadowed(D) the ark and its carrying poles. 8 These poles were so long that their ends could be seen from the Holy Place in front of the inner sanctuary, but not from outside the Holy Place; and they are still there today.(E)

6 And the priests brought in the ark of the covenant of the Lord unto his place, into the oracle of the house, to the most holy place, even under the wings of the cherubims.
7 For the cherubims spread forth their two wings over the place of the ark, and the cherubims covered the ark and the staves thereof above.
8 And they drew out the staves, that the ends of the staves were seen out in the holy place before the oracle, and they were not seen without: and there they are unto this day.
