希蘭聽見所羅門的話,就很高興,說:「今日耶和華是應當稱頌的,因為他賜給大衛一個有智慧的兒子,治理這眾多的百姓。」 希蘭送信給所羅門,說:「你派人向我所提的那事,我已聽見了;論到香柏木和松木,我必照你一切的心願去做。 我的僕人必把這木料從黎巴嫩運到海裏,我會把它們紮成筏子浮在海上,運到你告訴我的地方,在那裏拆開,你就可以收取;你也要照我的心願做,把食物給我的家。」

When Hiram heard Solomon’s message, he was greatly pleased and said, “Praise be to the Lord(A) today, for he has given David a wise son to rule over this great nation.”

So Hiram sent word to Solomon:

“I have received the message you sent me and will do all you want in providing the cedar and juniper logs. My men will haul them down from Lebanon to the Mediterranean Sea(B), and I will float them as rafts by sea to the place you specify. There I will separate them and you can take them away. And you are to grant my wish by providing food(C) for my royal household.”
