13 以利亚听见后,就用外袍蒙着脸出去站在洞口。那声音问他:“以利亚,你在这里做什么?” 14 以利亚回答说:“我一向热心事奉万军之上帝耶和华。但以色列人背弃你的约,拆毁你的祭坛,残杀你的先知。现在只剩下我一个人,他们还要杀我。” 15 耶和华吩咐他说:“你原路返回,前往大马士革附近的旷野,到了之后要膏立哈薛做亚兰王。

1 Kings 19:13-15
New International Version
13 When Elijah heard it, he pulled his cloak over his face(A) and went out and stood at the mouth of the cave.
Then a voice said to him, “What are you doing here, Elijah?”
14 He replied, “I have been very zealous for the Lord God Almighty. The Israelites have rejected your covenant, torn down your altars, and put your prophets to death with the sword. I am the only one left,(B) and now they are trying to kill me too.”
15 The Lord said to him, “Go back the way you came, and go to the Desert of Damascus. When you get there, anoint Hazael(C) king over Aram.

13 So it was, when Elijah heard it, that (A)he wrapped his face in his mantle and went out and stood in the entrance of the cave. (B)Suddenly a voice came to him, and said, “What are you doing here, Elijah?”
14 (C)And he said, “I have been very zealous for the Lord God of hosts; because the children of Israel have forsaken Your covenant, torn down Your altars, and killed Your prophets with the sword. I alone am left; and they seek to take my life.”
15 Then the Lord said to him: “Go, return on your way to the Wilderness of Damascus; (D)and when you arrive, anoint Hazael as king over Syria.
