20 以下是上帝的训示：
2 “我是你的上帝耶和华，曾把你领出埃及，使你不再受奴役。
3 “除我以外，你不可有别的神。
4 “不可为自己雕刻神像，不可仿照任何飞禽走兽或水族的样子造神像， 5 不可跪拜它们，也不可供奉它们，因为我——你的上帝耶和华痛恨不贞，我必追讨背弃我之人的罪，从父到子直到三四代。 6 但那些爱我、遵守我诫命的人，我必以慈爱待他们，直到千代。
7 “不可妄用你上帝耶和华的名，违者必被耶和华定罪。
8 “要记住安息日，守为圣日。 9 你一周可工作六天， 10 但第七天是你的上帝耶和华的安息日，这一天你和儿女、仆婢、牲畜及你那里的外族人不可做任何工。 11 因为耶和华用六天造了天、地、海和其中的万物，第七天便休息了，所以耶和华赐福这日，把它定为圣日。
12 “要孝敬父母，以便在你的上帝耶和华赐给你的土地上享长寿。
13 “不可杀人。
14 “不可通奸。
15 “不可偷盗。
16 “不可作伪证陷害人。
17 “不可贪恋别人的房屋，不可贪恋别人的妻子、仆婢、牛驴或其他任何物品。”
18 那时雷电交加，号角嘹亮，山上冒烟，百姓看见此情景，都吓得浑身颤抖，不敢挨近。 19 他们对摩西说：“求你跟我们说话，我们必听从。不要让上帝直接跟我们说话，恐怕我们会丧命！” 20 摩西对百姓说：“不用害怕，上帝降临是要试验你们，好让你们时时敬畏祂，不致犯罪。”
21 百姓都站得远远的，摩西独自走进上帝所在的密云中。 22 耶和华吩咐摩西对以色列百姓说：“既然你们已经亲眼看见我从天上向你们说话， 23 除了敬拜我之外，不可为自己制造金银神像。 24 你们要为我筑一座土坛，把你们的牛羊献在坛上作燔祭和平安祭。凡是我使自己的名号被尊崇的地方，我会亲临那里赐福给你们。 25 你们若为我筑石坛，不可用凿刻的石头，因为用工具凿刻的石头会玷污祭坛。 26 不可踩着台阶登我的祭坛，免得露出你们的下体。

20 神吩咐以下這一切話，說：
2 “我是耶和華你的 神，曾經把你從埃及地，從為奴之家領出來。
3 “除我以外，你不可有別的神。
4 “不可為自己做偶像，也不可做天上、地下和地底下水中各物的形象。 5 不可跪拜它們，也不可事奉它們，因為我耶和華你們的 神是忌邪的 神；恨惡我的，我必追討他們的罪，從父親到兒子，直到三四代。 6 愛我和遵守我誡命的，我必向他們施慈愛，直到千代。
7 “不可妄稱耶和華你 神的名，因為妄稱耶和華的名的，耶和華必不以他為無罪。
8 “要記念安息日，守為聖日。 9 六日要勞碌，作你一切工作。 10 但第七日是耶和華你的 神的安息日；這一日，你和你的兒女，你的僕婢和牲畜，以及住在你城裡的寄居者，不可作任何的工。 11 因為耶和華在六日之內造天、地、海和其中的萬物，第七日就歇息了；所以耶和華賜福安息日，定為聖日。

13 “不可殺人。
14 “不可姦淫。
15 “不可偷盜。

18 全體人民都看見打雷、閃電、角聲和冒著煙的山；人民看見了，就顫抖，遠遠地站著。 19 他們對摩西說：“求你和我們說話吧，我們必定聽你的話，不可讓 神和我們說話，恐怕我們死亡。” 20 摩西回答人民：“不要懼怕，因為 神降臨是要試驗你們，叫你們常常敬畏他，不至犯罪。” 21 於是，人民遠遠地站著，摩西卻走近 神所在的幽暗之中。
築壇的條例
22 耶和華對摩西說：“你要對以色列人這樣說：‘你們親自看見我從天上和你們說話了。 23 你們不可做銀的神像和金的神像和我相比，你們決不可為自己做這些神像。 24 你要為我築一座土壇，把你的燔祭、平安祭和牛羊獻在壇上；在我使人記念我名的地方，我都必到你那裡去賜福你。 25 你若是為我築一座石壇，不可用鑿過的石頭來建築，因為你在石頭上一動用工具，就把壇污穢了。 26 你上我的壇，不可用梯級，免得在壇上露出你的下體來。’”

The Ten Commandments
20 Then God spoke all these words:
2 I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the place of slavery.(A)
3 Do not have other gods besides Me.(B)
4 Do not make an idol(C) for yourself, whether in the shape of anything in the heavens above or on the earth below or in the waters under the earth. 5 You must not bow down to them or worship them; for I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God,(D) punishing the children for the fathers’ sin, to the third and fourth generations(E) of those who hate Me, 6 but showing faithful love to a thousand generations of those who love Me and keep My commands.(F)
7 Do not misuse the name of the Lord your God, because the Lord will not leave anyone unpunished who misuses His name.(G)
8 Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy:(H) 9 You are to labor six days and do all your work,(I) 10 but the seventh day is a Sabbath to the Lord your God. You must not do any work—you, your son or daughter, your male or female slave, your livestock, or the foreigner who is within your gates.(J) 11 For the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and everything in them in six days; then He rested on the seventh day. Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and declared it holy.
12 Honor your father and your mother(K) so that you may have a long life in the land that the Lord your God is giving you.
13 Do not murder.(L)
14 Do not commit adultery.(M)
15 Do not steal.(N)
16 Do not give false testimony against your neighbor.(O)
17 Do not covet your neighbor’s house. Do not covet your neighbor’s wife, his male or female slave, his ox or donkey, or anything that belongs to your neighbor.(P)
The People’s Reaction
18 All the people witnessed[a] the thunder and lightning, the sound of the trumpet, and the mountain surrounded by smoke. When the people saw it[b] they trembled and stood at a distance.(Q) 19 “You speak to us, and we will listen,” they said to Moses, “but don’t let God speak to us, or we will die.”(R)
20 Moses responded to the people, “Don’t be afraid, for God has come to test you, so that you will fear Him and will not[c] sin.”(S) 21 And the people remained standing at a distance as Moses approached the thick darkness where God was.(T)
Moses Receives Additional Laws
22 Then the Lord told Moses, “This is what you are to say to the Israelites: You have seen that I have spoken to you from heaven.(U) 23 You must not make gods of silver to rival Me; you must not make gods of gold for yourselves.[d](V)
24 “You must make an earthen altar for Me and sacrifice on it your burnt offerings and fellowship offerings, your sheep and goats, as well as your cattle. I will come to you and bless you in every place where I cause My name to be remembered.(W) 25 If you make a stone altar for Me, you must not build it out of cut stones. If you use your chisel on it, you will defile it.(X) 26 You must not go up to My altar on steps, so that your nakedness is not exposed on it.
