¹⁷有些牧人来了，把她们赶走；摩西却起来，救了她们，也给她们的羊群喝水。 ¹⁸她们回到父亲流珥那里，父亲问：“今天你们为甚么赶着回来呢？” ¹⁹她们说：“有一个埃及人救我们脱离了牧羊人的手，而且还为我们打水给羊群喝。”

New International Version

¹⁷Some shepherds came along and drove them away, but Moses got up and came to their rescue^(A) and watered their flock.^(B)

¹⁸When the girls returned to Reuel^(C) their father, he asked them, “Why have you returned so early today?”

¹⁹They answered, “An Egyptian rescued us from the shepherds. He even drew water for us and watered the flock.”

¹⁷Then the ^(A)shepherds came and ^(B)drove them away; but Moses stood up and helped them, and ^(C)watered their flock.

¹⁸When they came to ^(D)Reuel^[a] their father, ^(E)he said, “How is it that you have come so soon today?”

¹⁹And they said, “An Egyptian delivered us from the hand of the shepherds, and he also drew enough water for us and watered the flock.”

¹⁷And the shepherds came and drove them away: but Moses stood up and helped them, and watered their flock.

¹⁸And when they came to Reuel their father, he said, How is it that ye are come so soon to day?
