蝗虫之灾
10 耶和华对摩西说：“你去见法老，我已使他和他臣仆的心刚硬，好在他们当中行我这些神迹。 2 这样，你就可以把我如何严惩埃及人以及我在他们当中所行的神迹告诉你的子孙，好叫你们知道我是耶和华。”
3 摩西和亚伦便进宫去见法老，对他说：“希伯来人的上帝耶和华说，‘你要到什么时候才肯在我面前谦卑下来，让我的子民离开这里去事奉我？ 4 这次你若再不答应，明天我要使蝗虫飞入你的国境。 5 它们铺天盖地，要吃光冰雹过后田间所剩的，包括一切树木。 6 你的王宫及臣仆和所有埃及人的房屋都要布满蝗虫，这是你祖祖辈辈从未见过的蝗灾。’”摩西说完，便转身离开法老。
7 臣仆对法老说：“这个人还要给我们添多少麻烦呢？让他们离开去事奉他们的上帝耶和华吧！埃及已经快崩溃了，你不知道吗？” 8 法老便召摩西和亚伦进宫，对他们说：“你们去事奉你们的上帝耶和华吧！但你们谁要去呢？” 9 摩西回答说：“我们男女老幼都要去，还有我们的牛群和羊群，因为我们要去守耶和华的节期，向祂献祭。” 10 法老听后，说：“我若让你们带走妇女和孩子，最好耶和华能保护你们！你们真是居心叵测。 11 不行！只有男子可以去事奉耶和华，这是你们一直要求的。”法老说完，便下令把他们赶出去。
12 耶和华对摩西说：“你向埃及伸杖，使蝗虫飞来吃尽冰雹过后剩下的植物。” 13 摩西就向埃及伸杖。耶和华使东风在埃及境内刮了整整一天一夜，到早晨，东风带来了蝗虫。 14 埃及到处都布满了蝗虫，数目之多实在是空前绝后。 15 整个埃及铺满蝗虫，地上一片黑暗。这些蝗虫吃尽了冰雹过后剩下的农作物和树上的果子，没有留下一点青绿。 16 法老急忙召见摩西和亚伦，对他们说：“我得罪了你们的上帝耶和华，又得罪了你们。 17 现在求你饶恕我的罪，就这一次，为我祈求你们的上帝耶和华撤去这场死亡之灾吧！” 18 摩西就离开法老出去祈求耶和华， 19 耶和华就把风向倒转，变成猛烈的西风，把蝗虫刮走，吹进红海。埃及境内一只蝗虫也没留下。 20 可是，耶和华又使法老心硬，不让以色列人离开埃及。

21 耶和华对摩西说：“你向天伸杖，使埃及全境漆黑一片，那黑暗浓得甚至可以摸到。” 22 摩西向天伸杖，埃及全境便漆黑了三天之久。 23 埃及人彼此看不见，谁也不敢移动半步。可是，以色列人住的地方却有光。 24 法老把摩西召来，对他说：“去吧，带着你们的妇女和孩子去事奉耶和华吧，但你们要把牛羊留下。” 25 摩西回答说：“你要让我们带走牛羊，因为它们是献给我们上帝耶和华的祭物和燔祭牲。 26 我们要带走所有的牲畜，一只蹄子也不留下，因为我们要从其中选一些来献给我们的上帝耶和华。我们抵达目的地前，还不知道把哪些献给祂。” 27 但耶和华使法老的心刚硬，不肯让以色列百姓离开。 28 法老对摩西说：“给我滚出去！不要再让我见到你，因为你再见我面之日必死。” 29 摩西回答说：“你说得好，我必不再见你的面。”

10 耶和華對摩西說：「你去見法老，我已使他和他臣僕的心剛硬，好在他們當中行我這些神蹟。 2 這樣，你就可以把我如何嚴懲埃及人以及我在他們當中所行的神蹟告訴你的子孫，好叫你們知道我是耶和華。」
3 摩西和亞倫便進宮去見法老，對他說：「希伯來人的上帝耶和華說，『你要到什麼時候才肯在我面前謙卑下來，讓我的子民離開這裡去事奉我？ 4 這次你若再不答應，明天我要使蝗蟲飛入你的國境。 5 牠們鋪天蓋地，要吃光冰雹過後田間所剩的，包括一切樹木。 6 你的王宮及臣僕和所有埃及人的房屋都要佈滿蝗蟲，這是你祖祖輩輩從未見過的蝗災。』」摩西說完，便轉身離開法老。

The Eighth Plague: Locusts(A)
10 Now the Lord said to Moses, “Go in to Pharaoh; (B)for I have hardened his heart and the hearts of his servants, (C)that I may show these signs of Mine before him, 2 and that (D)you may tell in the hearing of your son and your son’s son the mighty things I have done in Egypt, and My signs which I have done among them, that you may (E)know that I am the Lord.”
3 So Moses and Aaron came in to Pharaoh and said to him, “Thus says the Lord God of the Hebrews: ‘How long will you refuse to (F)humble yourself before Me? Let My people go, that they may (G)serve Me. 4 Or else, if you refuse to let My people go, behold, tomorrow I will bring (H)locusts into your territory. 5 And they shall cover the face of the earth, so that no one will be able to see the earth; and (I)they shall eat the residue of what is left, which remains to you from the hail, and they shall eat every tree which grows up for you out of the field. 6 They shall (J)fill your houses, the houses of all your servants, and the houses of all the Egyptians—which neither your fathers nor your fathers’ fathers have seen, since the day that they were on the earth to this day.’ ” And he turned and went out from Pharaoh.
7 Then Pharaoh’s (K)servants said to him, “How long shall this man be (L)a snare to us? Let the men go, that they may serve the Lord their God. Do you not yet know that Egypt is destroyed?”
8 So Moses and Aaron were brought again to Pharaoh, and he said to them, “Go, serve the Lord your God. Who are the ones that are going?”
9 And Moses said, “We will go with our young and our old; with our sons and our daughters, with our flocks and our herds we will go, for (M)we must hold a feast to the Lord.”
10 Then he said to them, “The Lord had better be with you when I let you and your little ones go! Beware, for evil is ahead of you. 11 Not so! Go now, you who are men, and serve the Lord, for that is what you desired.” And they were driven (N)out from Pharaoh’s presence.
12 Then the Lord said to Moses, (O)“Stretch out your hand over the land of Egypt for the locusts, that they may come upon the land of Egypt, and (P)eat every herb of the land—all that the hail has left.” 13 So Moses stretched out his rod over the land of Egypt, and the Lord brought an east wind on the land all that day and all that night. When it was morning, the east wind brought the locusts. 14 And (Q)the locusts went up over all the land of Egypt and rested on all the territory of Egypt. They were very severe; (R)previously there had been no such locusts as they, nor shall there be such after them. 15 For they (S)covered the face of the whole earth, so that the land was darkened; and they (T)ate every herb of the land and all the fruit of the trees which the hail had left. So there remained nothing green on the trees or on the plants of the field throughout all the land of Egypt.
16 Then Pharaoh called (U)for Moses and Aaron in haste, and said, (V)“I have sinned against the Lord your God and against you. 17 Now therefore, please forgive my sin only this once, and (W)entreat[a] the Lord your God, that He may take away from me this death only.” 18 So he (X)went out from Pharaoh and entreated the Lord. 19 And the Lord turned a very strong west wind, which took the locusts away and blew them (Y)into the Red Sea. There remained not one locust in all the territory of Egypt. 20 But the Lord (Z)hardened Pharaoh’s heart, and he did not let the children of Israel go.
The Ninth Plague: Darkness
21 Then the Lord said to Moses, (AA)“Stretch out your hand toward heaven, that there may be darkness over the land of Egypt, [b]darkness which may even be felt.” 22 So Moses stretched out his hand toward heaven, and there was (AB)thick darkness in all the land of Egypt (AC)three days. 23 They did not see one another; nor did anyone rise from his place for three days. (AD)But all the children of Israel had light in their dwellings.
24 Then Pharaoh called to Moses and (AE)said, “Go, serve the Lord; only let your flocks and your herds be kept back. Let your (AF)little ones also go with you.”
25 But Moses said, “You must also give [c]us sacrifices and burnt offerings, that we may sacrifice to the Lord our God. 26 Our (AG)livestock also shall go with us; not a hoof shall be left behind. For we must take some of them to serve the Lord our God, and even we do not know with what we must serve the Lord until we arrive there.”
27 But the Lord (AH)hardened Pharaoh’s heart, and he would not let them go. 28 Then Pharaoh said to him, (AI)“Get away from me! Take heed to yourself and see my face no more! For in the day you see my face you shall die!”
29 So Moses said, “You have spoken well. (AJ)I will never see your face again.”

Octava plaga: la langosta
10 El SEÑOR dijo a Moisés:
—Ve al faraón, porque yo he endurecido su corazón y el corazón de sus servidores para manifestar entre ellos estas señales mías, 2 y para que cuentes a tus hijos y a tus nietos las cosas que yo hice en Egipto, las señales que yo hice en medio de ellos, para que sepan que yo soy el SEÑOR.
3 Entonces Moisés y Aarón fueron al faraón y le dijeron:
—El SEÑOR, el Dios de los hebreos, ha dicho así: “¿Hasta cuándo rehusarás humillarte ante mí? Deja ir a mi pueblo para que me sirva. 4 Si rehúsas dejarlo ir, he aquí mañana yo traeré la langosta a tu territorio; 5 y cubrirá la superficie de la tierra, de modo que esta no pueda verse. Devorará el resto de lo que ha escapado, lo que les ha quedado del granizo. Devorará también todos los árboles que crecen en el campo. 6 Y llenará tus casas, las casas de tus servidores y las casas de todos los egipcios, como nunca vieron tus padres ni tus abuelos desde que existieron sobre la tierra, hasta el día de hoy”.
Moisés dio media vuelta y salió de la presencia del faraón. 7 Entonces los servidores del faraón le dijeron:
—¿Hasta cuándo ha de sernos este una trampa? Deja ir a esos hombres para que sirvan al SEÑOR su Dios. ¿Todavía no te das cuenta de que Egipto está destruido?
8 Moisés y Aarón volvieron a ser traídos ante el faraón, quien les dijo:
—Vayan y sirvan al SEÑOR vuestro Dios. ¿Quiénes son los que han de ir?
9 Moisés respondió:
—Hemos de ir con nuestros niños y con nuestros ancianos, con nuestros hijos y con nuestras hijas; hemos de ir con nuestras ovejas y con nuestras vacas, porque tendremos una fiesta del SEÑOR.
10 Y él les dijo:
—¡Sea el SEÑOR con ustedes, si yo los dejo ir a ustedes y a sus niños! ¡Vean cómo sus malas intenciones están a la vista! 11 ¡No será así! Vayan ustedes los varones y sirvan al SEÑOR, pues esto es lo que ustedes han pedido.
Y los echaron de la presencia del faraón. 12 Entonces el SEÑOR dijo a Moisés:
—Extiende tu mano sobre la tierra de Egipto, para que la langosta suba sobre la tierra de Egipto. Ella devorará toda la hierba de la tierra y todo lo que ha dejado el granizo.
13 Moisés extendió su vara sobre la tierra de Egipto, y el SEÑOR trajo un viento del oriente sobre el país, todo aquel día y toda aquella noche. Al amanecer, el viento del oriente trajo la langosta. 14 Esta subió sobre toda la tierra de Egipto y se posó muy densamente en todos los rincones del país. Nunca antes hubo tal plaga de langosta, ni la habrá después. 15 Cubrieron la superficie de toda la tierra, de modo que la tierra se oscureció[a]. Devoraron toda la hierba de la tierra y todo el fruto de los árboles que había dejado el granizo. En toda la tierra de Egipto no quedó nada verde ni en los árboles ni en la hierba del campo.
16 Entonces el faraón hizo llamar apresuradamente a Moisés y a Aarón, y les dijo:
—He pecado contra el SEÑOR su Dios y contra ustedes. 17 Pero ahora perdonen[b], por favor, mi pecado solo una vez más y rueguen al SEÑOR su Dios para que él aparte de mí solamente esta mortandad.
18 Moisés salió de la presencia del faraón y oró al SEÑOR. 19 El SEÑOR hizo soplar un fortísimo viento del occidente que llevó la langosta y la arrojó al mar Rojo[c]. Ni una sola langosta quedó en todo el territorio de Egipto. 20 Pero el SEÑOR endureció el corazón del faraón, y este no dejó ir a los hijos de Israel.
Novena plaga: las tinieblas
21 El SEÑOR dijo a Moisés:
—Extiende tu mano hacia el cielo para que haya tinieblas sobre la tierra de Egipto, tinieblas que hasta puedan ser palpadas.
22 Moisés extendió su mano hacia el cielo, y hubo densas tinieblas por toda la tierra de Egipto, durante tres días. 23 No se podían ver unos a otros ni nadie se movió de su lugar durante tres días. Pero todos los hijos de Israel tenían luz en sus moradas. 24 Luego el faraón hizo llamar a Moisés y le dijo:
—Vayan y sirvan al SEÑOR. Vayan también sus niños con ustedes. Solamente que sean dejadas sus ovejas y sus vacas.
25 Moisés respondió:
—Entonces tú nos tendrás que dar animales para sacrificar y ofrecer en holocausto al SEÑOR nuestro Dios. 26 ¡También nuestro ganado irá con nosotros! No quedará ni una pezuña de ellos, porque de ellos hemos de tomar para servir al SEÑOR nuestro Dios. No sabemos con qué hemos de servir al SEÑOR, hasta que lleguemos allá.
27 Pero el SEÑOR endureció el corazón del faraón, y no quiso dejarlos ir. 28 Y el faraón dijo a Moisés:
—¡Retírate de mi presencia! ¡Guárdate de volver a ver mi cara; porque el día en que veas mi cara, morirás!
29 Y Moisés respondió:
—Bien has dicho. ¡Jamás volveré a ver tu cara!

The Plague of Locusts
10 Then the Lord said to Moses, “Go to Pharaoh, for I have hardened his heart(A) and the hearts of his officials so that I may perform these signs(B) of mine among them 2 that you may tell your children(C) and grandchildren how I dealt harshly(D) with the Egyptians and how I performed my signs among them, and that you may know that I am the Lord.”(E)
3 So Moses and Aaron went to Pharaoh and said to him, “This is what the Lord, the God of the Hebrews, says: ‘How long will you refuse to humble(F) yourself before me? Let my people go, so that they may worship me. 4 If you refuse(G) to let them go, I will bring locusts(H) into your country tomorrow. 5 They will cover the face of the ground so that it cannot be seen. They will devour what little you have left(I) after the hail, including every tree that is growing in your fields.(J) 6 They will fill your houses(K) and those of all your officials and all the Egyptians—something neither your parents nor your ancestors have ever seen from the day they settled in this land till now.’”(L) Then Moses turned and left Pharaoh.
7 Pharaoh’s officials said to him, “How long will this man be a snare(M) to us? Let the people go, so that they may worship the Lord their God. Do you not yet realize that Egypt is ruined?”(N)
8 Then Moses and Aaron were brought back to Pharaoh. “Go, worship(O) the Lord your God,” he said. “But tell me who will be going.”
9 Moses answered, “We will go with our young and our old, with our sons and our daughters, and with our flocks and herds, because we are to celebrate a festival(P) to the Lord.”
10 Pharaoh said, “The Lord be with you—if I let you go, along with your women and children! Clearly you are bent on evil.[a] 11 No! Have only the men go and worship the Lord, since that’s what you have been asking for.” Then Moses and Aaron were driven out of Pharaoh’s presence.
12 And the Lord said to Moses, “Stretch out your hand(Q) over Egypt so that locusts swarm over the land and devour everything growing in the fields, everything left by the hail.”
13 So Moses stretched out his staff(R) over Egypt, and the Lord made an east wind blow across the land all that day and all that night. By morning the wind had brought the locusts;(S) 14 they invaded all Egypt and settled down in every area of the country in great numbers. Never before had there been such a plague of locusts,(T) nor will there ever be again. 15 They covered all the ground until it was black. They devoured(U) all that was left after the hail—everything growing in the fields and the fruit on the trees. Nothing green remained on tree or plant in all the land of Egypt.
16 Pharaoh quickly summoned(V) Moses and Aaron and said, “I have sinned(W) against the Lord your God and against you. 17 Now forgive(X) my sin once more and pray(Y) to the Lord your God to take this deadly plague away from me.”
18 Moses then left Pharaoh and prayed to the Lord.(Z) 19 And the Lord changed the wind to a very strong west wind, which caught up the locusts and carried them into the Red Sea.[b] Not a locust was left anywhere in Egypt. 20 But the Lord hardened Pharaoh’s heart,(AA) and he would not let the Israelites go.
The Plague of Darkness
21 Then the Lord said to Moses, “Stretch out your hand toward the sky so that darkness(AB) spreads over Egypt—darkness that can be felt.” 22 So Moses stretched out his hand toward the sky, and total darkness(AC) covered all Egypt for three days. 23 No one could see anyone else or move about for three days. Yet all the Israelites had light in the places where they lived.(AD)
24 Then Pharaoh summoned Moses and said, “Go,(AE) worship the Lord. Even your women and children(AF) may go with you; only leave your flocks and herds behind.”(AG)
25 But Moses said, “You must allow us to have sacrifices and burnt offerings(AH) to present to the Lord our God. 26 Our livestock too must go with us; not a hoof is to be left behind. We have to use some of them in worshiping the Lord our God, and until we get there we will not know what we are to use to worship the Lord.”
27 But the Lord hardened Pharaoh’s heart,(AI) and he was not willing to let them go. 28 Pharaoh said to Moses, “Get out of my sight! Make sure you do not appear before me again! The day you see my face you will die.”
29 “Just as you say,” Moses replied. “I will never appear(AJ) before you again.”
