4 摩西回答：“看哪，他們必不信我，也不聽我的話；因為他們必說：‘耶和華並沒有向你顯現。’” 2 耶和華問摩西：“那在你手裡的是甚麼？”他說：“是手杖。” 3 耶和華說：“把它丟在地上。”摩西把它一丟在地上，它就變了蛇；摩西就逃跑，離開了牠。 4 耶和華對摩西說：“伸出你的手來，捉住蛇的尾巴。”摩西就伸出手來，緊握著牠，牠在摩西的掌中又變回了手杖。 5 “這樣就使他們相信耶和華他們祖宗的 神，就是亞伯拉罕的 神、以撒的 神、雅各的 神曾向你顯現了。” 6 耶和華又再對摩西說：“現在把你的手放進懷裡。”摩西就把手放進懷裡；等他把手抽出來的時候，手就長滿了痲風，像雪那樣白。 7 耶和華說：“把你的手再放進懷裡。”摩西就把手再放進懷裡；等他把手從懷裡抽出來的時候，手就恢復過來，像身上別處的肉一樣。 8 耶和華又說：“如果他們不信你，也不聽從頭一個神蹟的話，他們必信隨後來的神蹟。 9 如果連這兩個神蹟他們也不信，也不聽你的話，你就從河裡取些水，倒在旱地上；你從河裡取來的水就必在旱地上變成血。”

10 摩西對耶和華說：“主啊，我不是個會說話的人；以前不是，自從你對僕人說話以後也不是；因為我本是拙口笨舌的。” 11 耶和華對他說：“誰造人的口呢？誰使人口啞、耳聾、眼明、眼瞎呢？不是我耶和華嗎？ 12 現在去吧，我必賜你口才，指教你當說的。” 13 摩西說：“主啊，請你差派你願意差派的人。” 14 耶和華向摩西發怒，說：“不是有你的哥哥利未人亞倫嗎？我知道他是有口才的；他現在出來要迎接你。他看見了你，心裡就快樂。 15 你要對他說話，把你要說的話放在他的口裡；我必與你的口同在，也與他的口同在；我必指教你們當行的事。 16 他要替你向人民說話，他要作你的口，你要作他的 神。 17 這手杖你要拿在手裡，用來行神蹟。”

18 於是，摩西起程回到他岳父葉忒羅那裡，對他說：“請你容我離開這裡，回到我在埃及的同胞那裡，看看他們是否還在。”葉忒羅對摩西說：“你可以平平安安地去吧。” 19 耶和華在米甸對摩西說：“你要起程，回到埃及去，因為那些尋索你命的人都死了。” 20 摩西就帶著他的妻子和孩子，讓他們騎在驢上，向著埃及地回去了；摩西手裡拿著 神的杖。 21 耶和華對摩西說：“你起程回到埃及去的時候，要留意我交在你手裡的一切奇事，把它們行在法老面前；我卻要使他的心剛硬，他就不讓人民離開。 22 你要對法老說：‘耶和華這樣說：以色列是我的長子。 23 我曾對你說，要讓我的兒子離開這裡，好叫他事奉我。你還是拒絕讓他離開，看哪！我必殺你的長子。’”
24 在路上住宿的地方，耶和華遇見了摩西，就想要殺他。 25 西坡拉就拿了一把石刀，把她兒子的包皮割下來，把它丟到摩西的腳上，說：“你真是我的血郎了！” 26 這樣，耶和華才放了他。那時西坡拉說：“你是血郎，是因為割禮的緣故。”

4 摩西回答說：「他們不會相信我或聽我的話，他們會說，『耶和華根本沒有向你顯現。』」 2 耶和華對摩西說：「你手裡拿的是什麼？」摩西說：「是一根手杖。」 3 耶和華說：「把它丟在地上！」於是，摩西把杖丟在地上，杖變成了一條蛇。摩西連忙跑開。 4 耶和華說：「你伸手抓住牠的尾巴！」摩西就伸手抓蛇的尾巴，蛇在他手中變回了杖。 5 耶和華說：「這樣，他們就會相信他們祖先的上帝耶和華，就是亞伯拉罕、以撒和雅各的上帝，曾經向你顯現。」
6 耶和華又說：「把手放進懷裡。」摩西把手放進懷裡，手抽出來的時候，竟患了痲瘋病，像雪一樣白。 7 耶和華說：「再把手放進懷裡。」摩西又把手放進懷裡，這次再抽出來的時候，手已經復原，跟其他地方的皮肉一樣。 8 耶和華說：「縱然他們不聽你的話，不信第一個神蹟，也必定相信第二個神蹟。 9 如果他們兩個神蹟都不相信，還是不聽你的話，你就從尼羅河裡取些水來倒在旱地上，那水就會在旱地上變成血。」
10 摩西對耶和華說：「主啊！我向來不善言辭，即使你對僕人說話以後，我還是不善言辭，因為我是個拙口笨舌的人。」 11 耶和華對他說：「是誰造人的口舌？是誰使人變成啞巴或聾子？是誰使人目明或眼瞎？不都是我耶和華嗎？ 12 去吧！我必賜給你口才，指示你說什麼話。」 13 但是摩西說：「主啊，請派其他人去吧。」 14 耶和華向摩西發怒說：「利未人亞倫不是你哥哥嗎？他是個能言善辯的人，正要來迎接你。他見到你一定很歡喜。 15 你要把該說的話傳給他，我會賜你們口才，教你們如何行事。 16 他要替你向百姓說話，做你的發言人，你對他來說就像上帝一樣。 17 你要把手杖帶在身邊，以便行神蹟。」
18 摩西回到家裡，對他的岳父葉忒羅說：「求你讓我回埃及去探望我的親人，看看他們是否在世。」葉忒羅說：「你平安地去吧。」 19 耶和華在米甸對摩西說：「你只管放心回埃及去，想害你性命的人都已經死了。」 20 於是，摩西拿著上帝的杖，帶著妻子和兒子騎驢返回埃及。 21 耶和華對摩西說：「你到了埃及，見到法老的時候，務要照我賜給你的能力在法老面前行神蹟。但我要使他的心剛硬，他必不讓百姓離開。 22 那時，你就告訴法老，『耶和華說，以色列是我的長子， 23 我對你說過讓我的長子出去事奉我，但你執意不肯。看啊，我要殺你的長子。』」
24 摩西在途中夜宿的時候，耶和華遇見摩西，想要殺他。 25 他的妻子西坡拉拿起鋒利的火石，割下兒子的包皮，放在摩西腳前，說：「你真是我的血郎。」 26 這樣，耶和華才沒殺他。當時，西坡拉說「血郎」是指割禮一事。
27 耶和華對亞倫說：「你到曠野去迎接摩西。」他就在上帝的山上遇見摩西，並親吻他。 28 摩西把耶和華吩咐他的以及要他行的神蹟都告訴了亞倫。 29 摩西和亞倫一起回去招聚以色列的眾長老， 30 亞倫把耶和華對摩西的吩咐詳細地告訴他們。摩西又在百姓面前行了那些神蹟， 31 百姓相信了。以色列人聽見耶和華眷顧他們、看到了他們的苦難，都俯伏敬拜祂。

4 And Moshe answered and said, But, what if they will not believe me, nor pay heed unto my voice but will say, Hashem hath not appeared unto thee.
2 And Hashem said unto him, What is that in thine yad? And he said, A matteh (a rod, staff).
3 And He said, Cast it on the ground. And he cast it on the ground, and it became a nachash; and Moshe fled from before it.
4 And Hashem said unto Moshe, Put forth thine yad, and take it by the tail. And he put forth his yad, and caught it, and it became a matteh in his yad;
5 That they may believe that Hashem Elohei Avotam, Elohei Avraham, Elohei Yitzchak, and Elohei Ya’akov, hath appeared unto thee.
6 And Hashem said furthermore unto him, Put now thine yad into thy kheyk. And he put his yad into his kheyk; and when he took it out, hinei, his yad was leprous as snow.
7 And He said, Put thine yad into thy kheyk again. And he put his yad into his kheyk again; and plucked it out of his kheyk, and, hinei, it was turned again as his other basar.
8 And it shall come to pass, if they will not believe thee, neither pay heed to the voice of haOt Harishon, that they will believe the voice of haOt haAcharon.
9 And it shall come to pass, if they will not believe also these two otot, neither pay heed unto thy voice, that thou shalt take of the mayim of the Nile, and pour it upon the yabashah (dry land); and the mayim which thou takest out of the Nile shall become dahm upon the yabashah.
10 And Moshe said unto Hashem, O Adonoi, I am not an ish devarim, neither heretofore, nor since Thou hast spoken unto Thy eved; but I am slow of speech, and of a slow lashon.
11 And Hashem said unto him, Who hath made man’s peh (mouth)? Or who maketh dumb, or deaf, or seeing, or blind? Is it not I, Hashem?
12 Now therefore go, and Eh-heh-yeh (I will be) with thy mouth, and teach thee what thou shalt say.
13 And he said, O Adonoi, send, now, by the yad of him whom Thou wilt send.
14 And the Af Hashem was kindled against Moshe, and He said, Is there not Aharon thy ach the Levi? I know that he can speak well. And also, hinei, he cometh forth to meet thee; and when he seeth thee, he will be glad in his lev.
15 And thou shalt speak unto him, and put words in his mouth; and Eh-heh-yeh (I will be) with thy mouth, and with his mouth, and will teach you what ye shall do.
16 And he shall be thy spokesman unto the people; and he shall be, even he shall be to thee instead of a mouth, and thou shalt be to him instead of Elohim.
17 And thou shalt take this matteh in thine yad, wherewith thou shalt do haOtot.
18 And Moshe went and returned to Yitro his khoten (father-in-law), and said unto him, Let me go, now, and return unto my achim which are in Mitzrayim, and see whether they be yet alive. And Yitro said to Moshe, Lech l’shalom (go in peace).
19 And Hashem said unto Moshe in Midyan, Go, shuv (return) into Mitzrayim; for all the anashim are dead which sought thy life.
20 And Moshe took his isha and his banim, and set them upon a donkey, and he returned to Eretz Mitzrayim; and matteh HaElohim in his yad.
21 And Hashem said unto Moshe, When thou goest to return into Mitzrayim, see that thou do all those mofetim before Pharaoh, which I have put in thine yad: but I will harden his lev, that he shall not let HaAm go.
22 And thou shalt say unto Pharaoh, Thus saith Hashem, Yisroel is beni (My son), even My bechor (first-born):
23 And I say unto thee, Let beni (My son) go, that he may serve Me: and if thou refuse to let him go, hinei, I will slay thy ben, even thy bechor.
24 And it came to pass on the derech at the malon, that Hashem met him, and sought to kill him.
25 Then Tzipporah took a sharp stone, and cut off the arlat ben (foreskin of son) of her, and cast it at his feet, and said, Surely a choson damim (a bridegroom of blood) art thou to me.
26 So He let him go; then she said, A choson damim thou art, because of the circumcision (i.e., [bris] milah).
27 And Hashem said to Aharon, Go into the midbar to meet Moshe. And he went, and met him in the Har HaElohim, and kissed him.
28 And Moshe told Aharon kol divrei Hashem who had sent him, and all haOtot He had commanded him.
29 And Moshe and Aharon went and assembled together kol Ziknei Bnei Yisroel;
30 And Aharon spoke all hadevarim which Hashem had spoken unto Moshe; and he did haOtot before the eyes of HaAm.
31 And HaAm believed; and when they heard that Hashem had visited the Bnei Yisroel, and that He had looked upon their oni, then they bowed their heads and worshiped.

4 ENTONCES Moisés respondió, y dijo: He aquí que ellos no me creerán, ni oirán mi voz; porque dirán: No te ha aparecido Jehová.
2 Y Jehová dijo: ¿Qué es eso que tienes en tu mano? Y él respondió: Una vara.
3 Y él le dijo: Échala en tierra. Y él la echó en tierra, y tornóse una culebra: y Moisés huía de ella.
4 Entonces dijo Jehová á Moisés: Extiende tu mano, y tómala por la cola. Y él extendió su mano, y tomóla, y tornóse vara en su mano.
5 Por esto creerán que se te ha aparecido Jehová, el Dios de tus padres, el Dios de Abraham, Dios de Isaac, y Dios de Jacob.
6 Y díjole más Jehová: Mete ahora tu mano en tu seno. Y él metió la mano en su seno; y como la sacó, he aquí que su mano estaba leprosa como la nieve.
7 Y dijo: Vuelve á meter tu mano en tu seno: y él volvió á meter su mano en su seno; y volviéndola á sacar del seno, he aquí que se había vuelto como la otra carne.
8 Si aconteciere, que no te creyeren, ni obedecieren á la voz de la primera señal, creerán á la voz de la postrera.
9 Y si aún no creyeren á estas dos señales, ni oyeren tu voz, tomarás de las aguas del río, y derrámalas en tierra; y volverse han aquellas aguas que tomarás del río, se volverán sangre en la tierra.
10 Entonces dijo Moisés á Jehová: ¡Ay Señor! yo no soy hombre de palabras de ayer ni de anteayer, ni aun desde que tú hablas á tu siervo; porque soy tardo en el habla y torpe de lengua.
11 Y Jehová le respondió: ¿Quién dió la boca al hombre? ¿ó quién hizo al mudo y al sordo, al que ve y al ciego? ¿no soy yo Jehová?
12 Ahora pues, ve, que yo seré en tu boca, y te enseñaré lo que hayas de hablar.
13 Y él dijo: ¡Ay Señor! envía por mano del que has de enviar.
14 Entonces Jehová se enojó contra Moisés, y dijo: ¿No conozco yo á tu hermano Aarón, Levita, y que él hablará? Y aun he aquí que él te saldrá á recibir, y en viéndote, se alegrará en su corazón.
15 Tú hablarás á él, y pondrás en su boca las palabras, y yo seré en tu boca y en la suya, y os enseñaré lo que hayáis de hacer.
16 Y él hablará por ti al pueblo; y él te será á ti en lugar de boca, y tú serás para él en lugar de Dios.
17 Y tomarás esta vara en tu mano, con la cual harás las señales.
18 Así se fué Moisés, y volviendo á su suegro Jethro, díjole: Iré ahora, y volveré á mis hermanos que están en Egipto, para ver si aún viven. Y Jethro dijo á Moisés: Ve en paz.
19 Dijo también Jehová á Moisés en Madián: Ve, y vuélvete á Egipto, porque han muerto todos los que procuraban tu muerte.
20 Entonces Moisés tomó su mujer y sus hijos, y púsolos sobre un asno, y volvióse á tierra de Egipto: tomó también Moisés la vara de Dios en su mano.
21 Y dijo Jehová á Moisés: Cuando hubiereis vuelto á Egipto, mira que hagas delante de Faraón todas las maravillas que he puesto en tu mano: yo empero endureceré su corazón, de modo que no dejará ir al pueblo.
22 Y dirás á Faraón: Jehová ha dicho así: Israel es mi hijo, mi primogénito.
23 Ya te he dicho que dejes ir á mi hijo, para que me sirva, mas no has querido dejarlo ir: he aquí yo voy á matar á tu hijo, tu primogénito.
24 Y aconteció en el camino, que en una posada le salió al encuentro Jehová, y quiso matarlo.
25 Entonces Séphora cogió un afilado pedernal, y cortó el prepucio de su hijo, y echólo á sus pies, diciendo: á la verdad tú me eres un esposo de sangre.
26 Así le dejó luego ir. Y ella dijo: Esposo de sangre, á causa de la circuncisión.
27 Y Jehová dijo á Aarón: Ve á recibir á Moisés al desierto. Y él fué, y encontrólo en el monte de Dios, y besóle.
28 Entonces contó Moisés á Aarón todas las palabras de Jehová que le enviaba, y todas las señales que le había dado.
29 Y fueron Moisés y Aarón, y juntaron todos los ancianos de los hijos de Israel:
30 Y habló Aarón todas las palabras que Jehová había dicho á Moisés, e hizo las señales delante de los ojos del pueblo.
31 Y el pueblo creyó: y oyendo que Jehová había visitado los hijos de Israel, y que había visto su aflicción, inclináronse y adoraron.

Moses Given Powerful Signs
4 Then Moses answered, “But behold, they will not believe me or listen to my voice, for they will say, ‘The Lord did not appear to you.’” 2 The Lord said to him, “What is that in your hand?” He said, (A)“A staff.” 3 And he said, “Throw it on the ground.” So he threw it on the ground, and it became a serpent, and Moses ran from it. 4 But the Lord said to Moses, “Put out your hand and catch it by the tail”—so he put out his hand and caught it, and it became a staff in his hand— 5 “that they may (B)believe that the Lord, (C)the God of their fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, has appeared to you.” 6 Again, the Lord said to him, “Put your hand inside your cloak.”[a] And he put his hand inside his cloak, and when he took it out, behold, his hand was (D)leprous[b] like snow. 7 Then God said, “Put your hand back inside your cloak.” So he put his hand back inside his cloak, and when he took it out, behold, (E)it was restored like the rest of his flesh. 8 “If they will not believe you,” God said, “or listen to the first sign, they may believe the latter sign. 9 If they will not believe even these two signs or listen to your voice, you shall take some water from the Nile and pour it on the dry ground, and the water that you shall take from the Nile (F)will become blood on the dry ground.”
10 But Moses said to the Lord, “Oh, my Lord, I am not eloquent, either in the past or since you have spoken to your servant, but (G)I am slow of speech and of tongue.” 11 Then the Lord said to him, “Who has made man's mouth? Who makes him mute, or deaf, or seeing, or blind? Is it not I, the Lord? 12 Now therefore go, and (H)I will be with your mouth and teach you what you shall speak.” 13 But he said, “Oh, my Lord, please send someone else.” 14 Then the anger of the Lord was kindled against Moses and he said, “Is there not Aaron, your brother, the Levite? I know that he can speak well. Behold, (I)he is coming out to meet you, and when he sees you, he will be glad in his heart. 15 (J)You shall speak to him and (K)put the words in his mouth, and (L)I will be with your mouth and with his mouth and will teach you both what to do. 16 (M)He shall speak for you to the people, and he shall be your mouth, and (N)you shall be as God to him. 17 And take in your hand (O)this staff, with which you shall do the signs.”
Moses Returns to Egypt
18 Moses went back to (P)Jethro his father-in-law and said to him, “Please let me go back to my brothers in Egypt to see whether they are still alive.” And Jethro said to Moses, “Go in peace.” 19 And the Lord said to Moses in Midian, “Go back to Egypt, for (Q)all the men who were seeking your life are dead.” 20 So Moses took (R)his wife and his sons and had them ride on a donkey, and went back to the land of Egypt. And Moses took (S)the staff of God in his hand.
21 And the Lord said to Moses, “When you go back to Egypt, see that you do before Pharaoh all the (T)miracles that I have put in your power. But (U)I will harden his heart, so that he will not let the people go. 22 Then you shall say to Pharaoh, ‘Thus says the Lord, (V)Israel is my (W)firstborn son, 23 and I say to you, “Let my son go that he may serve me.” If you refuse to let him go, behold, I (X)will kill your firstborn son.’”
24 At a lodging place on the way (Y)the Lord met him and (Z)sought to put him to death. 25 Then (AA)Zipporah took a (AB)flint and cut off her son's foreskin and touched Moses'[c] feet with it and said, “Surely you are a bridegroom of blood to me!” 26 So he let him alone. It was then that she said, “A bridegroom of blood,” because of the circumcision.
27 The Lord said to Aaron, “Go into the wilderness (AC)to meet Moses.” So he went and met him at the (AD)mountain of God and kissed him. 28 And Moses (AE)told Aaron all the words of the Lord with which he had sent him to speak, and all (AF)the signs that he had commanded him to do. 29 Then Moses and Aaron (AG)went and gathered together all the elders of the people of Israel. 30 (AH)Aaron spoke all the words that the Lord had spoken to Moses and did the signs in the sight of the people. 31 And the people (AI)believed; and when they heard that the Lord had (AJ)visited the people of Israel and that he had (AK)seen their affliction, (AL)they bowed their heads and worshiped.
