神向摩西顯現
3 那時，摩西正在牧放他岳父米甸祭司葉忒羅的羊群。有一次，他把羊群領到曠野的盡頭去，到了 神的山，就是何烈山。 2 耶和華的使者從荊棘叢裡的火燄中向摩西顯現。摩西觀看，看見荊棘被火燒著，卻沒有燒毀。 3 摩西說：“我要到那邊去，看看這大異象，這荊棘為甚麼燒不掉？” 4 耶和華見摩西要到那邊去觀看， 神就從荊棘叢裡呼叫他，說：“摩西，摩西。”摩西說：“我在這裡。” 5 耶和華說：“不可過到這裡來；要把你腳上的鞋脫掉，因為你所站的地方是聖地。” 6 又說：“我是你父親的 神、亞伯拉罕的 神、以撒的 神、雅各的 神。”摩西因為怕見 神，就把自己的臉蒙住了。
摩西的使命
7 耶和華說：“我的子民在埃及所受的痛苦，我實在看見了；他們因受督工的轄制所發的呼聲，我也聽見了；他們的痛苦，我是知道的。 8 所以我下來，要救他們脫離埃及人的手，領他們脫離那地，到美好寬闊之地，到流奶與蜜之地，就是到迦南人、赫人、亞摩利人、比利洗人、希未人和耶布斯人的地方。 9 現在以色列人的呼聲已經達到我的面前，我也看見了埃及人對他們所施的壓迫。 10 所以現在你來，我要派你到法老那裡去，使你可以把我的人民以色列人從埃及領出來。” 11 摩西對 神說：“我是誰，竟能到法老那裡去，把以色列人從埃及領出來呢？” 12 神回答：“我必與你同在；你把人民從埃及領出來的時候，你們要在這山上事奉 神；這就是我派你去的憑據。”
13 摩西對 神說：“我到以色列人那裡，對他們說：‘你們祖宗的 神差遣我到你們這裡來’，他們必問我：‘他叫甚麼名字？’我要對他們說甚麼呢？” 14 神回答摩西：“我是‘自有永有者’。”又說：“你要對以色列人這樣說：‘那自有者派我到你們這裡來。’” 15 神又對摩西說：“你要對以色列人這樣說：‘耶和華你們祖宗的 神，就是亞伯拉罕的 神、以撒的 神、雅各的 神，差遣我到你們這裡來；這就是我永久的名字，也是世世代代中我被記念的名字。’ 16 你去召集以色列的長老，對他們說：‘耶和華你們祖宗的 神，就是亞伯拉罕的 神、以撒的 神、雅各的 神，向我顯現，說：“我實在眷顧了你們，和鑒察了你們在埃及所遭遇的。” 17 我也曾說：“我要把你們從埃及的痛苦中領出來，到迦南人、赫人、亞摩利人、比利洗人、希未人、耶布斯人之地去，就是到流奶與蜜之地去。”’ 18 他們必聽你的話；你和以色列的長老要到埃及王那裡去，對他說：‘耶和華希伯來人的 神遇見了我們。現在求你讓我們走三天的路程到曠野去，好獻祭給耶和華我們的 神。’ 19 我也知道，如果不施行大能的手（“如果不施行大能的手”或譯：“雖然施行大能的手”），埃及王決不會讓你們走的。 20 因此，我要伸手，用我在埃及快要施行的一切異能，擊打埃及；然後他才會讓你們離去。 21 我必叫這民在埃及人的眼前蒙恩。因此你們離去的時候，就不至於空手而去。 22 但每個婦女要向她鄰居的婦女，和寄居在她家中的婦女索取銀器、金器和衣服，要給你們的兒女穿戴；這樣，你們就把埃及人的財物掠奪了。”

3 Now Moshe was ro’eh (shepherding) the tzon of Yitro his khoten (fatherin- law), the kohen Midyan; and he led the tzon to the backside of the midbar, and came to the Har HaElohim, even to Chorev.
2 And the Malach Hashem appeared unto him in a flame of eish out of the midst of a bush; and he looked, and, hinei, the bush burned with eish, and the bush was not consumed.
3 And Moshe thought, I will now turn aside, and see this mareh hagadol, why the bush is not burned up.
4 And when Hashem saw that he turned aside to see, Elohim called out unto him out of the midst of the bush, and said, Moshe, Moshe. And he said, Hineni.
5 And He said, Draw not nearer here; put off thy na’alayim (sandals) from off thy raglayim, for hamakom whereon thou standest is admat kodesh.
6 Moreover He said, I am Elohei Avicha, Elohei Avraham, Elohei Yitzchak, and Elohei Ya’akov. And Moshe hid his face; for he was afraid to look upon HaElohim.
7 And Hashem said, I have surely seen the oni ami (affliction of My people) which are in Mitzrayim, and have heard their cry by reason of their nogesim (taskmasters); for I know their makhovim (sufferings);
8 And I am come down to deliver them out of the yad Mitzrayim, and to bring them up out of that land unto an eretz tovah, a spacious eretz zavat cholov udevash; unto the place of the Kena’ani, and the Chitti, and the Emori, and the Perizzi, and the Chivi, and the Yevusi.
9 Now therefore, hinei, the cry of the Bnei Yisroel is come unto Me; and I have also seen the oppression wherewith the Egyptians oppress them.
10 Come now therefore, and I will send thee unto Pharaoh, that thou mayest bring forth My people the Bnei Yisroel out of Mitzrayim.
11 And Moshe said unto HaElohim, Who am I, that I should go unto Pharaoh, and that I should bring forth the Bnei Yisroel out of Mitzrayim?
12 And He said, Certainly Eh-heh-yeh (I will be [see verse below]) with thee; and this shall be haOt (the Sign) unto thee, that I have sent thee: when thou hast brought forth HaAm out of Mitzrayim, ye shall serve HaElohim upon this Har.
13 And Moshe said unto HaElohim, Hinei, when I come unto the Bnei Yisroel, and shall say unto them, Elohei Avoteichem hath sent me unto you; and they shall say to me, What is Shmo? what shall I say unto them?
14 And Elohim said unto Moshe, Eh-heh-yeh ashair Ehheh- yeh (I AM WHO I AM); and He said, Thus shalt thou say unto the Bnei Yisroel, EHHEH-YEH (I AM) hath sent me unto you.
15 And Elohim said moreover unto Moshe, Thus shalt thou say unto Bnei Yisroel: Hashem, Elohei Avoteichem, Elohei Avraham, Elohei Yitzchak, and Elohei Ya’akov, hath sent me unto you: this is Shemi l’olam, and this is My remembrance unto all generations.
16 Go, and gather the Ziknei Yisroel together, and say unto them, Hashem Elohei Avoteichem, Elohei Avraham, Yitzchak, and Ya’akov, appeared unto me, saying, I have surely visited you, and seen that which is done to you in Mitzrayim;
17 And I have said, I will bring you up out of the Oni Mitzrayim unto the eretz Kena’ani, and the Chitti, and the Emori, and the Perizzi, and the Chivi, and the Yevusi unto eretz zavat cholov udevash.
18 And they shall pay heed to thy voice; and thou shalt go, thou and the Ziknei Yisroel, unto Melech Mitzrayim, and ye shall say unto him, Hashem Elohei HaIvriyim hath met with us; and let us go, now, derech shloshet yamim into the midbar, that we may sacrifice to Hashem Eloheinu.
19 And I have da’as that Melech Mitzrayim will not let you go, no, except by a yad chazakah.
20 And I will stretch out My yad, and strike Mitzrayim with all My nifle’ot which I will do in the midst thereof; and after that he will let you go.
21 And I will give this people chen in the sight of the Egyptians; and it shall come to pass, that, when ye go, ye shall not go empty-handed.
22 But every isha shall borrow of her neighbor, and of her that sojourneth in her bais, jewels of kesef, and jewels of zahav, and clothing; and ye shall put them upon your banim, and upon your banot; so ye shall plunder the Egyptians.

3 Y APACENTANDO Moisés las ovejas de Jethro su suegro, sacerdote de Madián, llevó las ovejas detrás del desierto, y vino á Horeb, monte de Dios.
2 Y apareciósele el Ángel de Jehová en una llama de fuego en medio de una zarza: y él miró, y vió que la zarza ardía en fuego, y la zarza no se consumía.
3 Entonces Moisés dijo: Iré yo ahora, y veré esta grande visión, por qué causa la zarza no se quema.
4 Y viendo Jehová que iba á ver, llamólo Dios de en medio de la zarza, y dijo: ¡Moisés, Moisés! Y él respondió: Heme aquí.
5 Y dijo: No te llegues acá: quita tus zapatos de tus pies, porque el lugar en que tú estás, tierra santa es.
6 Y dijo: Yo soy el Dios de tu padre, Dios de Abraham, Dios de Isaac, Dios de Jacob. Entonces Moisés cubrió su rostro, porque tuvo miedo de mirar á Dios.
7 Y dijo Jehová: Bien he visto la aflicción de mi pueblo que está en Egipto, y he oído su clamor á causa de sus exactores; pues tengo conocidas sus angustias:
8 Y he descendido para librarlos de mano de los Egipcios, y sacarlos de aquella tierra á una tierra buena y ancha, á tierra que fluye leche y miel, á los lugares del Cananeo, del Hetheo, del Amorrheo, del Pherezeo, del Heveo, y del Jebuseo.
9 El clamor, pues, de los hijos de Israel ha venido delante de mí, y también he visto la opresión con que los Egipcios los oprimen.
10 Ven por tanto ahora, y enviarte he á Faraón, para que saques á mi pueblo, los hijos de Israel, de Egipto.
11 Entonces Moisés respondió á Dios: ¿Quién soy yo, para que vaya á Faraón, y saque de Egipto á los hijos de Israel?
12 Y él le respondió: Ve, porque yo seré contigo; y esto te será por señal de que yo te he enviado: luego que hubieres sacado este pueblo de Egipto, serviréis á Dios sobre este monte.
13 Y dijo Moisés á Dios: He aquí que llego yo á los hijos de Israel, y les digo, El Dios de vuestros padres me ha enviado á vosotros; si ellos me preguntaren: ¿Cuál es su nombre? ¿qué les responderé?
14 Y respondió Dios á Moisés: YO SOY EL QUE SOY. Y dijo: Así dirás á los hijos de Israel: YO SOY me ha enviado á vosotros.
15 Y dijo más Dios á Moisés: Así dirás á los hijos de Israel: Jehová, el Dios de vuestros padres, el Dios de Abraham, Dios de Isaac y Dios de Jacob, me ha enviado á vosotros. Este es mi nombre para siempre, este es mi memorial por todos los siglos.
16 Ve, y junta los ancianos de Israel, y diles: Jehová, el Dios de vuestros padres, el Dios de Abraham, de Isaac, y de Jacob, me apareció, diciendo: De cierto os he visitado, y visto lo que se os hace en Egipto;
17 Y he dicho: Yo os sacaré de la aflicción de Egipto á la tierra del Cananeo, y del Hetheo, y del Amorrheo, y del Pherezeo, y del Heveo, y del Jebuseo, á una tierra que fluye leche y miel.
18 Y oirán tu voz; e irás tú, y los ancianos de Israel, al rey de Egipto, y le diréis: Jehová, el Dios de los Hebreos, nos ha encontrado; por tanto nosotros iremos ahora camino de tres días por el desierto, para que sacrifiquemos á Jehová nuestro Dios.
19 Mas yo sé que el rey de Egipto no os dejará ir sino por mano fuerte.
20 Empero yo extenderé mi mano, y heriré á Egipto con todas mis maravillas que haré en él, y entonces os dejará ir.
21 Y yo daré á este pueblo gracia en los ojos de los Egipcios, para que cuando os partiereis, no salgáis vacíos:
22 Sino que demandará cada mujer á su vecina y á su huéspeda vasos de plata, vasos de oro, y vestidos: los cuales pondréis sobre vuestros hijos y vuestras hijas; y despojaréis á Egipto.
