十诫
20 以下是上帝的训示：
2 “我是你的上帝耶和华，曾把你领出埃及，使你不再受奴役。
3 “除我以外，你不可有别的神。
4 “不可为自己雕刻神像，不可仿照任何飞禽走兽或水族的样子造神像， 5 不可跪拜它们，也不可供奉它们，因为我——你的上帝耶和华痛恨不贞，我必追讨背弃我之人的罪，从父到子直到三四代。 6 但那些爱我、遵守我诫命的人，我必以慈爱待他们，直到千代。
7 “不可妄用你上帝耶和华的名，违者必被耶和华定罪。
8 “要记住安息日，守为圣日。 9 你一周可工作六天， 10 但第七天是你的上帝耶和华的安息日，这一天你和儿女、仆婢、牲畜及你那里的外族人不可做任何工。 11 因为耶和华用六天造了天、地、海和其中的万物，第七天便休息了，所以耶和华赐福这日，把它定为圣日。
12 “要孝敬父母，以便在你的上帝耶和华赐给你的土地上享长寿。
13 “不可杀人。
14 “不可通奸。
15 “不可偷盗。
16 “不可作伪证陷害人。
17 “不可贪恋别人的房屋，不可贪恋别人的妻子、仆婢、牛驴或其他任何物品。”
18 那时雷电交加，号角嘹亮，山上冒烟，百姓看见此情景，都吓得浑身颤抖，不敢挨近。 19 他们对摩西说：“求你跟我们说话，我们必听从。不要让上帝直接跟我们说话，恐怕我们会丧命！” 20 摩西对百姓说：“不用害怕，上帝降临是要试验你们，好让你们时时敬畏祂，不致犯罪。”
21 百姓都站得远远的，摩西独自走进上帝所在的密云中。 22 耶和华吩咐摩西对以色列百姓说：“既然你们已经亲眼看见我从天上向你们说话， 23 除了敬拜我之外，不可为自己制造金银神像。 24 你们要为我筑一座土坛，把你们的牛羊献在坛上作燔祭和平安祭。凡是我使自己的名号被尊崇的地方，我会亲临那里赐福给你们。 25 你们若为我筑石坛，不可用凿刻的石头，因为用工具凿刻的石头会玷污祭坛。 26 不可踩着台阶登我的祭坛，免得露出你们的下体。

Los Diez Mandamientos
(Dt. 5.1-21)
20 Y habló Dios todas estas palabras, diciendo: 2 Yo soy Jehová tu Dios, que te saqué de la tierra de Egipto, de casa de servidumbre.
3 No tendrás dioses ajenos delante de mí.
4 No te harás imagen, ni ninguna semejanza de lo que esté arriba en el cielo, ni abajo en la tierra, ni en las aguas debajo de la tierra. 5 No te inclinarás a ellas, ni las honrarás;(A) porque yo soy Jehová tu Dios, fuerte, celoso, que visito la maldad de los padres sobre los hijos hasta la tercera y cuarta generación de los que me aborrecen, 6 y hago misericordia a millares, a los que me aman y guardan mis mandamientos.(B)
7 No tomarás el nombre de Jehová tu Dios en vano;(C) porque no dará por inocente Jehová al que tomare su nombre en vano.
8 Acuérdate del día de reposo[a] para santificarlo.(D) 9 Seis días trabajarás, y harás toda tu obra; 10 mas el séptimo día es reposo[b] para Jehová tu Dios; no hagas en él obra alguna,(E) tú, ni tu hijo, ni tu hija, ni tu siervo, ni tu criada, ni tu bestia, ni tu extranjero que está dentro de tus puertas. 11 Porque en seis días hizo Jehová los cielos y la tierra, el mar, y todas las cosas que en ellos hay, y reposó en el séptimo día; por tanto, Jehová bendijo el día de reposo[c] y lo santificó.(F)
12 Honra a tu padre y a tu madre,(G) para que tus días se alarguen en la tierra que Jehová tu Dios te da.(H)
13 No matarás.(I)
14 No cometerás adulterio.(J)
15 No hurtarás.(K)
16 No hablarás contra tu prójimo falso testimonio.(L)
17 No codiciarás(M) la casa de tu prójimo, no codiciarás la mujer de tu prójimo, ni su siervo, ni su criada, ni su buey, ni su asno, ni cosa alguna de tu prójimo.
El terror del pueblo
(Dt. 5.22-33)
18 Todo el pueblo observaba el estruendo y los relámpagos, y el sonido de la bocina, y el monte que humeaba; y viéndolo el pueblo, temblaron, y se pusieron de lejos. 19 Y dijeron a Moisés: Habla tú con nosotros, y nosotros oiremos; pero no hable Dios con nosotros, para que no muramos.(N) 20 Y Moisés respondió al pueblo: No temáis; porque para probaros vino Dios, y para que su temor esté delante de vosotros, para que no pequéis.
21 Entonces el pueblo estuvo a lo lejos, y Moisés se acercó a la oscuridad en la cual estaba Dios. 22 Y Jehová dijo a Moisés: Así dirás a los hijos de Israel: Vosotros habéis visto que he hablado desde el cielo con vosotros. 23 No hagáis conmigo dioses de plata, ni dioses de oro os haréis. 24 Altar de tierra harás para mí, y sacrificarás sobre él tus holocaustos y tus ofrendas de paz, tus ovejas y tus vacas; en todo lugar donde yo hiciere que esté la memoria de mi nombre, vendré a ti y te bendeciré. 25 Y si me hicieres altar de piedras, no las labres de cantería;(O) porque si alzares herramienta sobre él, lo profanarás. 26 No subirás por gradas a mi altar, para que tu desnudez no se descubra junto a él.

20 Dios habló y dio a conocer todas estas palabras:
2 «Yo soy el Señor tu Dios. Yo te saqué de Egipto, del país donde eras esclavo.
3 »No tengas otros dioses además de mí.[a]
4 No te hagas ninguna imagen, ni nada que guarde semejanza con lo que hay arriba en el cielo, ni con lo que hay abajo en la tierra, ni con lo que hay en las aguas debajo de la tierra. 5 No te postres delante de ellos ni los adores. Yo, el Señor tu Dios, soy un Dios celoso. Cuando los padres son malvados y me odian, yo castigo a sus hijos hasta la tercera y cuarta generación. 6 Por el contrario, cuando me aman fielmente y cumplen mis mandamientos, les muestro mi amor por mil generaciones.
7 No uses el nombre del Señor tu Dios en vano. Yo, el Señor, no tendré por inocente a quien se atreva a usar mi nombre en vano.
8 Acuérdate del día sábado para santificarlo. 9 Trabaja seis días y haz en ellos todo lo que tengas que hacer, 10 pero el día séptimo será un día de reposo para honrar al Señor tu Dios. No hagas en ese día ningún trabajo, ni tampoco tu hijo, ni tu hija, ni tu esclavo, ni tu esclava, ni tus animales, ni tampoco los extranjeros que vivan en tus ciudades.[b] 11 Porque en seis días hizo el Señor los cielos y la tierra, el mar y todo lo que hay en ellos, y descansó el séptimo día. Por eso el Señor bendijo y consagró el día de reposo.
12 Honra a tu padre y a tu madre, para que disfrutes de una larga vida en la tierra que te da el Señor tu Dios.
13 No mates.
14 No cometas adulterio.
15 No robes.
16 No des falso testimonio en contra de tu prójimo.
17 No codicies la casa de tu prójimo, ni codicies su esposa, ni su esclavo, ni su esclava, ni su buey, ni su asno, ni nada que le pertenezca».
Reacción temerosa de los israelitas
18 Ante ese espectáculo de truenos y relámpagos, de sonidos de trompeta y de la montaña envuelta en humo, los israelitas temblaban de miedo y se mantenían a distancia. 19 Así que suplicaron a Moisés:
—Háblanos tú y te escucharemos. Si Dios nos habla, seguramente moriremos.
20 —No tengan miedo —les respondió Moisés—. Dios ha venido a ponerlos a prueba, para que sientan temor de él y no pequen.
21 Entonces Moisés se acercó a la densa oscuridad en la que estaba Dios, pero los israelitas se mantuvieron a distancia.
El altar de piedra
22 El Señor ordenó a Moisés:
«Diles lo siguiente a los israelitas: “Ustedes mismos han oído que les he hablado desde el cielo. 23 No hagan dioses de plata o de oro para adorarlos como a mí. 24 Háganme un altar de tierra y ofrézcanme sobre él sus holocaustos y sacrificios de comunión, sus ovejas y sus toros. Yo vendré al lugar donde les pida invocar mi nombre y los bendeciré. 25 Si me hacen un altar de piedra, no lo construyan con piedras labradas, pues las herramientas profanan la piedra. 26 Y no pongan escalones a mi altar, no sea que al subir se les vea la desnudez”.

20 And God spoke(B) all these words:(C)
2 “I am the Lord your God,(D) who brought you out(E) of Egypt,(F) out of the land of slavery.(G)
3 “You shall have no other gods before[a] me.(H)
4 “You shall not make for yourself an image(I) in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below. 5 You shall not bow down to them or worship(J) them; for I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God,(K) punishing the children for the sin of the parents(L) to the third and fourth generation(M) of those who hate me, 6 but showing love to a thousand(N) generations of those who love me and keep my commandments.
7 “You shall not misuse the name of the Lord your God, for the Lord will not hold anyone guiltless who misuses his name.(O)
8 “Remember the Sabbath(P) day by keeping it holy. 9 Six days you shall labor and do all your work,(Q) 10 but the seventh day is a sabbath(R) to the Lord your God. On it you shall not do any work, neither you, nor your son or daughter, nor your male or female servant, nor your animals, nor any foreigner residing in your towns. 11 For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth,(S) the sea, and all that is in them, but he rested(T) on the seventh day.(U) Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy.
12 “Honor your father and your mother,(V) so that you may live long(W) in the land(X) the Lord your God is giving you.
13 “You shall not murder.(Y)
14 “You shall not commit adultery.(Z)
15 “You shall not steal.(AA)
16 “You shall not give false testimony(AB) against your neighbor.(AC)
17 “You shall not covet(AD) your neighbor’s house. You shall not covet your neighbor’s wife, or his male or female servant, his ox or donkey, or anything that belongs to your neighbor.”
18 When the people saw the thunder and lightning and heard the trumpet(AE) and saw the mountain in smoke,(AF) they trembled with fear.(AG) They stayed at a distance 19 and said to Moses, “Speak to us yourself and we will listen. But do not have God speak(AH) to us or we will die.”(AI)
20 Moses said to the people, “Do not be afraid.(AJ) God has come to test(AK) you, so that the fear(AL) of God will be with you to keep you from sinning.”(AM)
21 The people remained at a distance, while Moses approached the thick darkness(AN) where God was.
Idols and Altars
22 Then the Lord said to Moses, “Tell the Israelites this: ‘You have seen for yourselves that I have spoken to you from heaven:(AO) 23 Do not make any gods to be alongside me;(AP) do not make for yourselves gods of silver or gods of gold.(AQ)
24 “‘Make an altar(AR) of earth for me and sacrifice on it your burnt offerings(AS) and fellowship offerings, your sheep and goats and your cattle. Wherever I cause my name(AT) to be honored, I will come to you and bless(AU) you. 25 If you make an altar of stones for me, do not build it with dressed stones, for you will defile it if you use a tool(AV) on it. 26 And do not go up to my altar on steps, or your private parts(AW) may be exposed.’

12 Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee.
13 Thou shalt not kill.
14 Thou shalt not commit adultery.
15 Thou shalt not steal.
16 Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour.
17 Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is thy neighbour's.
18 And all the people saw the thunderings, and the lightnings, and the noise of the trumpet, and the mountain smoking: and when the people saw it, they removed, and stood afar off.
19 And they said unto Moses, Speak thou with us, and we will hear: but let not God speak with us, lest we die.
20 And Moses said unto the people, Fear not: for God is come to prove you, and that his fear may be before your faces, that ye sin not.
21 And the people stood afar off, and Moses drew near unto the thick darkness where God was.
22 And the Lord said unto Moses, Thus thou shalt say unto the children of Israel, Ye have seen that I have talked with you from heaven.
23 Ye shall not make with me gods of silver, neither shall ye make unto you gods of gold.
24 An altar of earth thou shalt make unto me, and shalt sacrifice thereon thy burnt offerings, and thy peace offerings, thy sheep, and thine oxen: in all places where I record my name I will come unto thee, and I will bless thee.
25 And if thou wilt make me an altar of stone, thou shalt not build it of hewn stone: for if thou lift up thy tool upon it, thou hast polluted it.
26 Neither shalt thou go up by steps unto mine altar, that thy nakedness be not discovered thereon.
