8 L’Eternel dit encore à Moïse : Ordonne à Aaron d’étendre la main avec son bâton vers les fleuves, les canaux et les étangs, pour faire venir les grenouilles sur l’Egypte.
2 Aaron étendit la main vers les cours d’eau d’Egypte, et les grenouilles en sortirent et envahirent le pays. 3 Mais les magiciens en firent autant par leurs sortilèges : ils firent aussi venir les grenouilles sur l’Egypte.
4 Le pharaon convoqua Moïse et Aaron et leur dit : Priez l’Eternel pour qu’il nous débarrasse des grenouilles, moi et mon peuple ; alors je laisserai aller votre peuple pour qu’il lui offre des sacrifices.
5 Moïse répondit au pharaon : Fixe toi-même le moment où je dois prier en ta faveur, en faveur de tes hauts fonctionnaires et de tes sujets, pour que l’Eternel te débarrasse des grenouilles, les fasse disparaître de tes maisons, et il n’en restera plus que dans le Nil.
6 Le pharaon répondit : Que ce soit pour demain.
Moïse dit : Il sera fait comme tu le demandes, pour que tu saches que l’Eternel notre Dieu n’a pas d’égal. 7 Les grenouilles te laisseront ainsi que tes hauts fonctionnaires et tes sujets, et elles quitteront tes maisons ; il n’en restera que dans le Nil.
8 Moïse et Aaron quittèrent le pharaon, et Moïse pria l’Eternel de faire partir les grenouilles qu’il avait envoyées contre le pharaon. 9 L’Eternel fit ce que Moïse lui demandait : les grenouilles périrent dans les maisons, dans les cours et dans les champs. 10 On en fit des tas en quantité considérable et le pays en fut empesté. 11 Mais lorsque le pharaon vit que les choses s’arrangeaient, il s’entêta et n’écouta pas Moïse et Aaron, comme l’Eternel l’avait dit.
Troisième fléau : les moustiques
12 L’Eternel dit à Moïse : Ordonne à Aaron d’étendre son bâton et d’en frapper la poussière du sol pour qu’elle se change en moustiques[a] dans toute l’Egypte.
13 Et ils obéirent : Aaron étendit la main et frappa de son bâton la poussière du sol, et la poussière de tout le pays se transforma en moustiques qui se répandirent sur les hommes et le bétail. 14 Les magiciens essayèrent d’accomplir le même miracle par leurs sortilèges et de produire des moustiques, mais ils n’y parvinrent pas. Et les hommes et le bétail restaient couverts de moustiques. 15 Alors les magiciens dirent au pharaon : C’est le doigt de Dieu[b] !
Pourtant, le pharaon s’obstina et il n’écouta pas Moïse et Aaron, comme l’Eternel l’avait dit.
Quatrième fléau : les mouches venimeuses
16 L’Eternel dit à Moïse : Va de bon matin te placer sur le passage du pharaon, lorsqu’il sortira pour aller au bord de l’eau et dis-lui : « Voici ce que l’Eternel t’ordonne : Laisse aller mon peuple, pour qu’il me rende un culte. 17 Si tu refuses, je vais lâcher les mouches venimeuses contre toi, contre tes hauts fonctionnaires, contre tes sujets, et elles envahiront tes maisons, celles des Egyptiens en seront remplies et le sol en sera couvert. 18 Mais, en ce jour-là, j’épargnerai la région de Goshen[c] où demeure mon peuple : les mouches ne l’infesteront pas afin que tu saches que moi, l’Eternel, je suis présent dans ce pays. 19 Ainsi je ferai une distinction entre mon peuple et le tien en épargnant le mien. C’est demain que ce signe miraculeux aura lieu. »
20 L’Eternel fit comme il l’avait annoncé. Un formidable essaim de mouches venimeuses pénétra dans le palais du pharaon, dans la demeure de ses hauts fonctionnaires, et toute l’Egypte fut ravagée par les mouches. 21 Le pharaon convoqua Moïse et Aaron et leur dit : Allez faire des sacrifices à votre Dieu, dans le pays.
22 Moïse répliqua : Il n’est pas convenable d’agir ainsi car nos sacrifices à l’Eternel notre Dieu seraient considérés comme abominables par les Egyptiens. Si nous les offrons sous leurs yeux, ils nous lapideront[d]. 23 Nous irons à trois jours de marche dans le désert et nous offrirons des sacrifices à l’Eternel notre Dieu, comme il nous l’a ordonné.
24 Le pharaon reprit : Eh bien ! Je vous laisse aller offrir des sacrifices à l’Eternel votre Dieu dans le désert ; seulement, ne vous éloignez surtout pas trop. Et priez pour moi !
25 Moïse répondit : Dès que je serai sorti de chez toi, je prierai l’Eternel, et demain, le pharaon, ses hauts fonctionnaires et ses sujets seront débarrassés des insectes malfaisants. Seulement, que le pharaon ne recommence pas à nous tromper en refusant de laisser notre peuple aller offrir des sacrifices à l’Eternel.
26 Moïse sortit de chez le pharaon et pria l’Eternel. 27 Et l’Eternel exauça Moïse : les mouches venimeuses laissèrent le pharaon, ses hauts fonctionnaires et ses sujets ; il n’en resta pas une seule. 28 Mais cette fois-ci encore, le pharaon s’entêta et ne laissa pas partir le peuple.

5 耶和华对摩西说：“你要对亚伦说把手中的杖伸在江、河、池之上，使青蛙上到埃及地来。”（本节在《马索拉文本》为8:1） 6 亚伦把手一伸在埃及的众水之上，青蛙就上来了，并且遮盖了埃及地。 7 众术士也用他们的巫术照样行了，使青蛙上了埃及地来。
8 法老把摩西和亚伦召了来，说：“请你们恳求耶和华，好叫他使青蛙离开我和我的人民，我就必让这人民离开这里，使他们可以向耶和华献祭。” 9 摩西回答法老：“请指示，我要在甚么时候为你和你的臣仆，以及你的人民，恳求耶和华除灭青蛙，使青蛙离开你和你的宫殿，只留在河里呢？”
10 法老说：“明天。”摩西回答：“就照着你的话行吧，好叫你知道没有神像耶和华我们的 神。 11 青蛙必离开你和你的宫殿、你的臣仆和你的人民，只留在河里。” 12 于是，摩西和亚伦离开法老走了出来；摩西为了耶和华加在法老身上青蛙的灾害向耶和华呼求。 13 耶和华就照着摩西的话行了；在房屋里、院子里和田野中的青蛙都死了。 14 有人把青蛙一堆一堆积聚起来，那地就发臭了。 15 法老一见灾祸平息了，就心里刚硬，不肯听他们的话，就像耶和华所说的。
虱灾
16 耶和华对摩西说：“你要对亚伦说：‘伸出你的手杖，击打地上的尘土，使尘土在埃及全地都变成虱子。’” 17 他们就这样行了；亚伦伸出手中的杖，击打地上的尘土，就在人身上和牲畜身上有了虱子；埃及全地所有地上的尘土都变成了虱子。 18 众术士也用他们的巫术照样行，要生出虱子来，却不能办到；所以在人身上和牲畜身上都有虱子。 19 众术士就对法老说：“这是 神的手指头。”法老却心里刚硬，不肯听摩西和亚伦，就像耶和华所说的。
蝇灾
20 耶和华对摩西说：“你要清早起来，站在法老面前；看哪，法老到水边来的时候，你要对他说：‘耶和华这样说：你要让我的人民离开这里，使他们可以事奉我。 21 如果你不让我的人民离开这里，看哪，我必叫苍蝇落在你和你臣仆，以及人民的身上，进到你的宫殿；埃及人的房屋都必充满苍蝇，他们所在的地方也是这样。 22 那日，我必把我人民居住的地方歌珊分别出来，使那里没有苍蝇，为要使你知道在全地上只有我是耶和华。 23 我必把我的人民和你的人民分别出来（按照《马索拉文本》，“分别出来”作“设定救赎”；两者在原文非常相似，现参照《七十士译本》等古译本翻译），明天必有这神迹。’” 24 耶和华就这样行了；无数的苍蝇进了法老的宫殿和他臣仆的房屋，并且遍布埃及全地；那地就因为苍蝇的缘故毁坏了。

The Second Plague: Frogs
8 And the Lord spoke to Moses, “Go to Pharaoh and say to him, ‘Thus says the Lord: “Let My people go, (A)that they may serve Me. 2 But if you (B)refuse to let them go, behold, I will smite all your territory with (C)frogs. 3 So the river shall bring forth frogs abundantly, which shall go up and come into your house, into your (D)bedroom, on your bed, into the houses of your servants, on your people, into your ovens, and into your kneading bowls. 4 And the frogs shall come up on you, on your people, and on all your servants.” ’ ”
5 Then the Lord spoke to Moses, “Say to Aaron, (E)‘Stretch out your hand with your rod over the streams, over the rivers, and over the ponds, and cause frogs to come up on the land of Egypt.’ ” 6 So Aaron stretched out his hand over the waters of Egypt, and (F)the frogs came up and covered the land of Egypt. 7 (G)And the magicians did so with their [a]enchantments, and brought up frogs on the land of Egypt.
8 Then Pharaoh called for Moses and Aaron, and said, (H)“Entreat[b] the Lord that He may take away the frogs from me and from my people; and I will let the people (I)go, that they may sacrifice to the Lord.”
9 And Moses said to Pharaoh, “Accept the honor of saying when I shall intercede for you, for your servants, and for your people, to destroy the frogs from you and your houses, that they may remain in the river only.”
10 So he said, “Tomorrow.” And he said, “Let it be according to your word, that you may know that (J)there is no one like the Lord our God. 11 And the frogs shall depart from you, from your houses, from your servants, and from your people. They shall remain in the river only.”
12 Then Moses and Aaron went out from Pharaoh. And Moses (K)cried out to the Lord concerning the frogs which He had brought against Pharaoh. 13 So the Lord did according to the word of Moses. And the frogs died out of the houses, out of the courtyards, and out of the fields. 14 They gathered them together in heaps, and the land stank. 15 But when Pharaoh saw that there was (L)relief, (M)he hardened his heart and did not heed them, as the Lord had said.
The Third Plague: Lice
16 So the Lord said to Moses, “Say to Aaron, ‘Stretch out your rod, and strike the dust of the land, so that it may become [c]lice throughout all the land of Egypt.’ ” 17 And they did so. For Aaron stretched out his hand with his rod and struck the dust of the earth, and (N)it became lice on man and beast. All the dust of the land became lice throughout all the land of Egypt.
18 Now (O)the magicians so worked with their [d]enchantments to bring forth lice, but they (P)could not. So there were lice on man and beast. 19 Then the magicians said to Pharaoh, “This is (Q)the[e] finger of God.” But Pharaoh’s (R)heart grew hard, and he did not heed them, just as the Lord had said.
The Fourth Plague: Flies
20 And the Lord said to Moses, (S)“Rise early in the morning and stand before Pharaoh as he comes out to the water. Then say to him, ‘Thus says the Lord: (T)“Let My people go, that they may serve Me. 21 Or else, if you will not let My people go, behold, I will send swarms of flies on you and your servants, on your people and into your houses. The houses of the Egyptians shall be full of swarms of flies, and also the ground on which they stand. 22 And in that day (U)I will set apart the land of (V)Goshen, in which My people dwell, that no swarms of flies shall be there, in order that you may (W)know that I am the Lord in the midst of the (X)land. 23 I will [f]make a difference between My people and your people. Tomorrow this (Y)sign shall be.” ’ ” 24 And the Lord did so. (Z)Thick swarms of flies came into the house of Pharaoh, into his servants’ houses, and into all the land of Egypt. The land was corrupted because of the swarms of flies.
25 Then Pharaoh called for Moses and Aaron, and said, “Go, sacrifice to your God in the land.”
26 And Moses said, “It is not right to do so, for we would be sacrificing (AA)the abomination of the Egyptians to the Lord our God. If we sacrifice the abomination of the Egyptians before their eyes, then will they not [g]stone us? 27 We will go (AB)three days’ journey into the wilderness and sacrifice to the Lord our God as (AC)He will command us.”
28 So Pharaoh said, “I will let you go, that you may sacrifice to the Lord your God in the wilderness; only you shall not go very far away. (AD)Intercede for me.”
29 Then Moses said, “Indeed I am going out from you, and I will entreat the Lord, that the swarms of flies may depart tomorrow from Pharaoh, from his servants, and from his people. But let Pharaoh not (AE)deal deceitfully anymore in not letting the people go to sacrifice to the Lord.”
30 So Moses went out from Pharaoh and (AF)entreated the Lord. 31 And the Lord did according to the word of Moses; He removed the swarms of flies from Pharaoh, from his servants, and from his people. Not one remained. 32 But Pharaoh (AG)hardened his heart at this time also; neither would he let the people go.
