上帝賜摩西能力
4 摩西回答說：「他們不會相信我或聽我的話，他們會說，『耶和華根本沒有向你顯現。』」 2 耶和華對摩西說：「你手裡拿的是什麼？」摩西說：「是一根手杖。」 3 耶和華說：「把它丟在地上！」於是，摩西把杖丟在地上，杖變成了一條蛇。摩西連忙跑開。 4 耶和華說：「你伸手抓住牠的尾巴！」摩西就伸手抓蛇的尾巴，蛇在他手中變回了杖。 5 耶和華說：「這樣，他們就會相信他們祖先的上帝耶和華，就是亞伯拉罕、以撒和雅各的上帝，曾經向你顯現。」
6 耶和華又說：「把手放進懷裡。」摩西把手放進懷裡，手抽出來的時候，竟患了痲瘋病，像雪一樣白。 7 耶和華說：「再把手放進懷裡。」摩西又把手放進懷裡，這次再抽出來的時候，手已經復原，跟其他地方的皮肉一樣。 8 耶和華說：「縱然他們不聽你的話，不信第一個神蹟，也必定相信第二個神蹟。 9 如果他們兩個神蹟都不相信，還是不聽你的話，你就從尼羅河裡取些水來倒在旱地上，那水就會在旱地上變成血。」
10 摩西對耶和華說：「主啊！我向來不善言辭，即使你對僕人說話以後，我還是不善言辭，因為我是個拙口笨舌的人。」 11 耶和華對他說：「是誰造人的口舌？是誰使人變成啞巴或聾子？是誰使人目明或眼瞎？不都是我耶和華嗎？ 12 去吧！我必賜給你口才，指示你說什麼話。」 13 但是摩西說：「主啊，請派其他人去吧。」 14 耶和華向摩西發怒說：「利未人亞倫不是你哥哥嗎？他是個能言善辯的人，正要來迎接你。他見到你一定很歡喜。 15 你要把該說的話傳給他，我會賜你們口才，教你們如何行事。 16 他要替你向百姓說話，做你的發言人，你對他來說就像上帝一樣。 17 你要把手杖帶在身邊，以便行神蹟。」
18 摩西回到家裡，對他的岳父葉忒羅說：「求你讓我回埃及去探望我的親人，看看他們是否在世。」葉忒羅說：「你平安地去吧。」 19 耶和華在米甸對摩西說：「你只管放心回埃及去，想害你性命的人都已經死了。」 20 於是，摩西拿著上帝的杖，帶著妻子和兒子騎驢返回埃及。 21 耶和華對摩西說：「你到了埃及，見到法老的時候，務要照我賜給你的能力在法老面前行神蹟。但我要使他的心剛硬，他必不讓百姓離開。 22 那時，你就告訴法老，『耶和華說，以色列是我的長子， 23 我對你說過讓我的長子出去事奉我，但你執意不肯。看啊，我要殺你的長子。』」
24 摩西在途中夜宿的時候，耶和華遇見摩西，想要殺他。 25 他的妻子西坡拉拿起鋒利的火石，割下兒子的包皮，放在摩西腳前，說：「你真是我的血郎。」 26 這樣，耶和華才沒殺他。當時，西坡拉說「血郎」是指割禮一事。
27 耶和華對亞倫說：「你到曠野去迎接摩西。」他就在上帝的山上遇見摩西，並親吻他。 28 摩西把耶和華吩咐他的以及要他行的神蹟都告訴了亞倫。 29 摩西和亞倫一起回去招聚以色列的眾長老， 30 亞倫把耶和華對摩西的吩咐詳細地告訴他們。摩西又在百姓面前行了那些神蹟， 31 百姓相信了。以色列人聽見耶和華眷顧他們、看到了他們的苦難，都俯伏敬拜祂。

4 Мойсей відповів таке: «А якщо вони не повірять мені й не слухатимуть мене? Якщо скажуть, що не являвся мені Господь[a]?» 2 Господь мовив до нього: «Що це у тебе в руці?» Мойсей відповів: «Ціпок». 3 Той каже: «Кинь його на землю». То він кинув ціпок на землю, і перетворився він на гадюку. Мойсей утік від неї.
4 І сказав Господь Мойсею: «Простягни руку і вхопи її за хвіст». Коли той простяг руку і вхопив її, вона знову перетворилася на ціпок у його руці. 5 «Це щоб вони змогли повірити, що Господь Бог батьків їхніх, Бог Авраама, Ісаака та Якова, явився тобі,— 6 знову мовив до нього Господь,—засунь руку собі за пазуху». Засунув він руку за пазуху. Коли ж вийняв її, то рука стала білою, мов сніг, від прокази[b]. 7 Господь сказав: «Засунь знову руку за пазуху». Той знову засунув руку собі за пазуху. Як вийняв він її з-за пазухи, вона зцілилася, стала такою ж, як і все тіло.
8 «Отже, якщо вони не повірять тобі або знехтують першим знаменням, то зможуть повірити другому. 9 Якщо ж вони не повірять навіть цим двом знаменням або не послухаються тебе, то візьми трохи води з Нілу й вилий її на землю. Вода, що ти візьмеш із Нілу, перетвориться на землі на кров»,—сказав Господь.
10 Мойсей мовив Господу: «Змилуйся, Господи. Я ніколи не був красномовний[c]: ні в минулому, ні тоді, як Ти мовив до мене, бо я неквапливий і недорікуватий». 11 І сказав йому Господь: «Хто дав людині уста або зробив людину німою, глухою, кривою чи сліпою? Хіба не Я, Господь? 12 А тепер іди. Я буду з тобою, коли говоритимеш. Я навчу тебе, що казати». 13 Та Мойсей відповів: «Змилуйся, Господи. Пошли когось іншого».
14 Розлютився Господь на Мойсея і мовив: «Чи не твій то брат Аарон, левит? Я знаю, він уміє добре говорити. Він і сам уже йде тобі назустріч. А коли побачить тебе, то всім серцем зрадіє. 15 Ти можеш вкласти слова йому в уста. Я буду з тобою і з ним, коли ви будете говорити. Я навчу вас, що робити. 16 І він говоритиме за тебе з людьми. Він буде твоїми устами, а ти будеш йому Богом. 17 Візьми собі в руку цей ціпок, яким творитимеш знамення».
Повернення Мойсея до Єгипту

Як на Мене, то Я зроблю черствим серце його, так що він не відпустить людей. 22 Ти скажеш фараонові, що говорить Господь: „Ізраїль—мій первісток. 23 Тож кажу тобі, відпусти Мого сина, щоб він зміг служити Господу Всевишньому! Але якщо ти відмовишся відіслати його, то Я вб’ю твого первістка”».
Обрізання Мойсеєвого сина
24 Тож в дорозі на ночівлі Господь зустрів Мойсея і намагався вбити[d]. 25 Та Циппора взяла кам’яний ніж, обрізала крайню плоть свого сина й торкнулася нею ніг його. Вона мовила: «Ти мій наречений по крові». 26 І Він простив Мойсея, коли вона сказала, що Мойсей був «наречений по крові», маючи на увазі обрізання.
Мойсей і Аарон постають перед Богом
27 Господь сказав Ааронові: «Йди назустріч Мойсею в пустелі». І той пішов і зустрів його на Божій горі[e], й поцілував його. 28 Мойсей переказав Ааронові всі слова Господа, Який послав його, і про всі знамення, що Він заповідав йому. 29 І пішли Мойсей з Аароном, і зібрали всіх старійшин ізраїльського народу. 30 Аарон переказав усі слова, що Господь мовив Мойсею. Потім той здійснив дива на очах у людей. 31 І люди повірили. Та почувши, що Господь навідався до дітей Ізраїля, і пересвідчившись на власні очі, вони вклонилися.

Good News Translation
God Gives Moses Miraculous Power
4 Then Moses answered the Lord, “But suppose the Israelites do not believe me and will not listen to what I say. What shall I do if they say that you did not appear to me?”
2 So the Lord asked him, “What are you holding?”
“A walking stick,” he answered.
3 The Lord said, “Throw it on the ground.” When Moses threw it down, it turned into a snake, and he ran away from it. 4 Then the Lord said to Moses, “Reach down and pick it up by the tail.” So Moses reached down and caught it, and it became a walking stick again. 5 The Lord said, “Do this to prove to the Israelites that the Lord, the God of their ancestors, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, has appeared to you.”
6 The Lord spoke to Moses again, “Put your hand inside your robe.” Moses obeyed; and when he took his hand out, it was diseased, covered with white spots, like snow. 7 Then the Lord said, “Put your hand inside your robe again.” He did so, and when he took it out this time, it was healthy, just like the rest of his body. 8 The Lord said, “If they will not believe you or be convinced by the first miracle, then this one will convince them. 9 If in spite of these two miracles they still will not believe you, and if they refuse to listen to what you say, take some water from the Nile and pour it on the ground. The water will turn into blood.”
10 But Moses said, “No, Lord, don't send me. I have never been a good speaker, and I haven't become one since you began to speak to me. I am a poor speaker, slow and hesitant.”
11 The Lord said to him, “Who gives man his mouth? Who makes him deaf or dumb? Who gives him sight or makes him blind? It is I, the Lord. 12 Now, go! I will help you to speak, and I will tell you what to say.”
13 But Moses answered, “No, Lord, please send someone else.”
14 At this the Lord became angry with Moses and said, “What about your brother Aaron, the Levite? I know that he can speak well. In fact, he is now coming to meet you and will be glad to see you. 15 You can speak to him and tell him what to say. I will help both of you to speak, and I will tell you both what to do. 16 He will be your spokesman and speak to the people for you. Then you will be like God, telling him what to say. 17 Take this walking stick with you; for with it you will perform miracles.”
Moses Returns to Egypt
18 Then Moses went back to Jethro, his father-in-law, and said to him, “Please let me go back to my relatives in Egypt to see if they are still alive.” Jethro agreed and told him good-bye.
19 While Moses was still in Midian, the Lord said to him, “Go back to Egypt, for all those who wanted to kill you are dead.” 20 So Moses took his wife and his sons, put them on a donkey, and set out with them for Egypt, carrying the walking stick that God had told him to take.
21 Again the Lord said to Moses, “Now that you are going back to Egypt, be sure to perform before the king all the miracles which I have given you the power to do. But I will make the king stubborn, and he will not let the people go. 22 Then you must tell him that I, the Lord, say, ‘Israel is my first-born son. 23 (A)I told you to let my son go, so that he might worship me, but you refused. Now I am going to kill your first-born son.’”
24 At a camping place on the way to Egypt, the Lord met Moses and tried to kill him. 25-26 Then Zipporah, his wife, took a sharp stone, cut off the foreskin of her son, and touched Moses' feet[a] with it. Because of the rite of circumcision she said to Moses, “You are a husband of blood to me.” And so the Lord spared Moses' life.
27 Meanwhile the Lord had said to Aaron, “Go into the desert to meet Moses.” So he went to meet him at the holy mountain; and when he met him, he kissed him. 28 Then Moses told Aaron everything that the Lord had said when he told him to return to Egypt; he also told him about the miracles which the Lord had ordered him to perform. 29 So Moses and Aaron went to Egypt and gathered all the Israelite leaders together. 30 Aaron told them everything that the Lord had said to Moses, and then Moses performed all the miracles in front of the people. 31 They believed, and when they heard that the Lord had come to them and had seen how they were being treated cruelly, they bowed down and worshiped.
