掃羅歸主
9 掃羅繼續用兇狠的話恐嚇主的門徒。他去見大祭司， 2 要取得授權書到大馬士革的各會堂搜捕信耶穌的人，無論男女，都要把他們押回耶路撒冷。
3 當他快到大馬士革的時候，突然有一道光從天上射下來，四面照著他。 4 他倒在地上，聽見有聲音對他說：「掃羅！掃羅！你為什麼迫害我？」 5 他說：「主啊，你是誰？」那聲音說：「我就是你所迫害的耶穌。 6 起來！進城去，有人會告訴你該做的事。」
7 同行的人站在那裡只聽見聲音，卻看不見人，嚇得張口結舌。 8 掃羅爬起來，睜大眼睛，卻什麼也看不見，同伴拉著他的手進了大馬士革。 9 一連三天，掃羅什麼也看不見，也不吃也不喝。
10 這時候，在大馬士革有個門徒名叫亞拿尼亞，他在異象中聽見主呼喚他的名字，就回答說：「主啊，我在這裡。」
11 主說：「起來，到直街的猶大家去見一個來自大數、名叫掃羅的人，他正在向我禱告。 12 我讓他在異象中看見一個名叫亞拿尼亞的人去他那裡，把手按在他身上，使他恢復視力。」
13 亞拿尼亞回答說：「主啊！我聽見許多人說他對耶路撒冷的信徒大加迫害。 14 他來這裡是得到祭司長的授權，要拘捕所有求告你名的人。」
15 主對亞拿尼亞說：「你放心去吧！他是我揀選的器皿，要向外族人、君王和以色列人宣揚我的名。 16 我會讓他知道他必為我的名而受許多的苦。」
17 亞拿尼亞去了，進了那家，就把手按在掃羅身上，說：「掃羅弟兄，在你來的路上向你顯現的主耶穌派我來使你重見光明、被聖靈充滿。」 18 頓時，掃羅的眼睛上有鱗片似的東西脫落，他立刻恢復了視力，便起來接受了洗禮。 19 他吃過東西之後，體力也恢復了。他和大馬士革的門徒住了幾天之後， 20 便到各會堂去宣講：「耶穌是上帝的兒子。」
21 聽的人都大吃一驚，說：「他不就是那在耶路撒冷迫害信徒的人嗎？他到這裡來不是要把大馬士革的信徒押去見祭司長嗎？」
22 但掃羅越發有能力，引經據典證明耶穌是基督，使大馬士革的猶太人驚慌失措。
掃羅逃生
23 過了一段日子，猶太人圖謀殺死掃羅。 24 他們晝夜在城門守候，伺機下手，但這陰謀被掃羅知道了。 25 他的門徒趁夜間用筐子把他從城牆上縋下去。
26 掃羅逃到耶路撒冷後，曾設法與當地的門徒聯絡，可是他們都怕他，不相信他是門徒。 27 只有巴拿巴接待他，帶他去見使徒，向他們陳述掃羅如何在路上遇見主，主如何對他說話，他又如何勇敢地在大馬士革奉耶穌的名傳道。 28 於是，掃羅就在耶路撒冷與使徒一起出入來往，奉主的名放膽傳道。 29 他常常跟那些講希臘話的猶太人辯論，於是他們打算殺掉他。 30 弟兄姊妹知道這消息後，就把掃羅帶到凱撒利亞，然後送他到大數去。
31 當時，猶太、加利利、撒瑪利亞各地的教會都很平安，得到了堅固。信徒們非常敬畏主，又得到聖靈的安慰，人數越來越多。
彼得醫治癱子
32 彼得四處奔波，來到呂大探訪那裡的信徒， 33 遇見一個已經臥床八年、名叫以尼雅的癱子。 34 彼得對他說：「以尼雅，耶穌基督已經醫好你了，起來收拾你的墊子吧！」他立刻應聲而起。 35 呂大和沙崙的居民看見他，都歸向了主。
彼得使死人復活
36 在約帕有個樂善好施的女信徒名叫戴碧達，希臘話叫多加，意思是「羚羊」。 37 當時，她患病死了。有人將她的屍體洗乾淨後，停放在樓上。 38 呂大和約帕相距不遠，門徒聽說彼得在呂大，就派兩個人趕去請他立刻來約帕。 39 彼得便隨他們一同到了那裡，有人領他上樓。眾寡婦都站在彼得周圍哭，並把多加生前縫制的內衣、外衣給他看。

The Damascus Road
9 Meanwhile, Saul was still breathing threats and murder against the disciples(A) of the Lord. He went to the high priest(B) 2 and requested letters(C) from him to the synagogues in Damascus, so that if he found any men or women who belonged to the Way,(D) he might bring them as prisoners to Jerusalem. 3 As(E) he traveled and was nearing Damascus, a light from heaven suddenly flashed around him. 4 Falling to the ground, he heard a voice saying to him, “Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting Me?”
5 “Who are You, Lord?” he said.
“I am Jesus, the One you are persecuting,” He replied. 6 “But get up and go into the city, and you will be told what you must do.”
7 The men who were traveling with him stood speechless, hearing the sound but seeing no one.(F) 8 Then Saul got up from the ground, and though his eyes were open, he could see nothing. So they took him by the hand and led him into Damascus. 9 He was unable to see for three days and did not eat or drink.
Saul’s Baptism
10 There was a disciple in Damascus named Ananias. And the Lord said to him in a vision, “Ananias!”
“Here I am, Lord!” he said.(G)
11 “Get up and go to the street called Straight,” the Lord said to him, “to the house of Judas, and ask for a man from Tarsus(H) named Saul, since he is praying there. 12 In a vision[a] he has seen a man named Ananias coming in and placing his hands on him so he can regain his sight.”(I)
13 “Lord,” Ananias answered, “I have heard from many people about this man, how much harm he has done to Your saints in Jerusalem.(J) 14 And he has authority here from the chief priests to arrest all who call on Your name.”(K)
15 But the Lord said to him, “Go! For this man is My chosen instrument(L) to take My name to Gentiles,(M) kings, and the Israelites.(N) 16 I will show him how much he must suffer for My name!”(O)
17 So Ananias left and entered the house. Then he placed his hands on him and said, “Brother Saul, the Lord Jesus, who appeared to you on the road you were traveling, has sent me so that you can regain your sight and be filled with the Holy Spirit.”(P)
18 At once something like scales fell from his eyes, and he regained his sight. Then he got up and was baptized. 19 And after taking some food, he regained his strength.(Q)
Saul Proclaiming the Messiah
Saul was with the disciples in Damascus for some days. 20 Immediately he began proclaiming Jesus in the synagogues: “He is the Son of God.”(R)
21 But all who heard him were astounded and said, “Isn’t this the man who, in Jerusalem, was destroying those who called on this name and then came here for the purpose of taking them as prisoners to the chief priests?”(S)
22 But Saul grew more capable and kept confounding the Jews who lived in Damascus by proving that this One is the Messiah.
23 After many days had passed, the Jews conspired to kill him, 24 but their plot became known to Saul. So they were watching the gates day and night intending to kill him,(T) 25 but his disciples took him by night and lowered him in a large basket through an opening in the wall.(U)
Saul in Jerusalem
26 When he arrived in Jerusalem,(V) he tried to associate with the disciples, but they were all afraid of him, since they did not believe he was a disciple. 27 Barnabas, however, took him and brought him to the apostles and explained to them how Saul had seen the Lord on the road and that He had talked to him, and how in Damascus he had spoken boldly(W) in the name of Jesus.(X) 28 Saul was coming and going with them in Jerusalem, speaking boldly in the name of the Lord. 29 He conversed and debated with the Hellenistic Jews,[b] but they attempted to kill him.(Y) 30 When the brothers found out, they took him down to Caesarea and sent him off to Tarsus.(Z)
31 So the church(AA) throughout all Judea, Galilee, and Samaria had peace, being built up and walking in the fear of the Lord and in the encouragement of the Holy Spirit, and it increased in numbers.
The Healing of Aeneas
32 As Peter was traveling from place to place,[c] he also came down to the saints(AB) who lived in Lydda.(AC) 33 There he found a man named Aeneas, who was paralyzed and had been bedridden for eight years. 34 Peter said to him, “Aeneas, Jesus Christ heals you. Get up and make your bed,”[d] and immediately he got up.(AD) 35 So all who lived in Lydda and Sharon(AE) saw him and turned to the Lord.
Dorcas Restored to Life
36 In Joppa(AF) there was a disciple named Tabitha, which is translated Dorcas.[e] She was always doing good works(AG) and acts of charity. 37 In those days she became sick and died. After washing her, they placed her in a room upstairs. 38 Since Lydda was near Joppa, the disciples heard that Peter was there and sent two men to him who begged him, “Don’t delay in coming with us.” 39 So Peter got up and went with them. When he arrived, they led him to the room upstairs. And all the widows approached him, weeping and showing him the robes and clothes that Dorcas had made while she was with them. 40 Then Peter sent them all out of the room. He knelt down, prayed, and turning toward the body said, “Tabitha, get up!” She opened her eyes, saw Peter, and sat up.(AH) 41 He gave her his hand and helped her stand up. Then he called the saints and widows and presented her alive. 42 This became known throughout Joppa, and many believed in the Lord. 43 And Peter stayed on many days in Joppa with Simon,(AI) a leather tanner.[f]

3 And as he journeyed, he came near Damascus: and suddenly there shined round about him a light from heaven:
4 And he fell to the earth, and heard a voice saying unto him, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me?
5 And he said, Who art thou, Lord? And the Lord said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest: it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks.
6 And he trembling and astonished said, Lord, what wilt thou have me to do? And the Lord said unto him, Arise, and go into the city, and it shall be told thee what thou must do.
7 And the men which journeyed with him stood speechless, hearing a voice, but seeing no man.
8 And Saul arose from the earth; and when his eyes were opened, he saw no man: but they led him by the hand, and brought him into Damascus.

10 And there was a certain disciple at Damascus, named Ananias; and to him said the Lord in a vision, Ananias. And he said, Behold, I am here, Lord.
11 And the Lord said unto him, Arise, and go into the street which is called Straight, and enquire in the house of Judas for one called Saul, of Tarsus: for, behold, he prayeth,
12 And hath seen in a vision a man named Ananias coming in, and putting his hand on him, that he might receive his sight.
13 Then Ananias answered, Lord, I have heard by many of this man, how much evil he hath done to thy saints at Jerusalem:
14 And here he hath authority from the chief priests to bind all that call on thy name.
15 But the Lord said unto him, Go thy way: for he is a chosen vessel unto me, to bear my name before the Gentiles, and kings, and the children of Israel:
16 For I will shew him how great things he must suffer for my name's sake.
17 And Ananias went his way, and entered into the house; and putting his hands on him said, Brother Saul, the Lord, even Jesus, that appeared unto thee in the way as thou camest, hath sent me, that thou mightest receive thy sight, and be filled with the Holy Ghost.
18 And immediately there fell from his eyes as it had been scales: and he received sight forthwith, and arose, and was baptized.
19 And when he had received meat, he was strengthened. Then was Saul certain days with the disciples which were at Damascus.
20 And straightway he preached Christ in the synagogues, that he is the Son of God.
21 But all that heard him were amazed, and said; Is not this he that destroyed them which called on this name in Jerusalem, and came hither for that intent, that he might bring them bound unto the chief priests?
22 But Saul increased the more in strength, and confounded the Jews which dwelt at Damascus, proving that this is very Christ.
23 And after that many days were fulfilled, the Jews took counsel to kill him:
24 But their laying await was known of Saul. And they watched the gates day and night to kill him.
25 Then the disciples took him by night, and let him down by the wall in a basket.
26 And when Saul was come to Jerusalem, he assayed to join himself to the disciples: but they were all afraid of him, and believed not that he was a disciple.
27 But Barnabas took him, and brought him to the apostles, and declared unto them how he had seen the Lord in the way, and that he had spoken to him, and how he had preached boldly at Damascus in the name of Jesus.
28 And he was with them coming in and going out at Jerusalem.
29 And he spake boldly in the name of the Lord Jesus, and disputed against the Grecians: but they went about to slay him.
30 Which when the brethren knew, they brought him down to Caesarea, and sent him forth to Tarsus.
31 Then had the churches rest throughout all Judaea and Galilee and Samaria, and were edified; and walking in the fear of the Lord, and in the comfort of the Holy Ghost, were multiplied.
32 And it came to pass, as Peter passed throughout all quarters, he came down also to the saints which dwelt at Lydda.
33 And there he found a certain man named Aeneas, which had kept his bed eight years, and was sick of the palsy.
34 And Peter said unto him, Aeneas, Jesus Christ maketh thee whole: arise, and make thy bed. And he arose immediately.
35 And all that dwelt at Lydda and Saron saw him, and turned to the Lord.
36 Now there was at Joppa a certain disciple named Tabitha, which by interpretation is called Dorcas: this woman was full of good works and almsdeeds which she did.
37 And it came to pass in those days, that she was sick, and died: whom when they had washed, they laid her in an upper chamber.
38 And forasmuch as Lydda was nigh to Joppa, and the disciples had heard that Peter was there, they sent unto him two men, desiring him that he would not delay to come to them.
39 Then Peter arose and went with them. When he was come, they brought him into the upper chamber: and all the widows stood by him weeping, and shewing the coats and garments which Dorcas made, while she was with them.
40 But Peter put them all forth, and kneeled down, and prayed; and turning him to the body said, Tabitha, arise. And she opened her eyes: and when she saw Peter, she sat up.
41 And he gave her his hand, and lifted her up, and when he had called the saints and widows, presented her alive.
42 And it was known throughout all Joppa; and many believed in the Lord.
43 And it came to pass, that he tarried many days in Joppa with one Simon a tanner.

Saul’s Conversion(A)
9 Meanwhile, Saul was still breathing out murderous threats against the Lord’s disciples.(B) He went to the high priest 2 and asked him for letters to the synagogues in Damascus,(C) so that if he found any there who belonged to the Way,(D) whether men or women, he might take them as prisoners to Jerusalem. 3 As he neared Damascus on his journey, suddenly a light from heaven flashed around him.(E) 4 He fell to the ground and heard a voice(F) say to him, “Saul, Saul, why do you persecute me?”

13 “Lord,” Ananias answered, “I have heard many reports about this man and all the harm he has done to your holy people(N) in Jerusalem.(O) 14 And he has come here with authority from the chief priests(P) to arrest all who call on your name.”(Q)
15 But the Lord said to Ananias, “Go! This man is my chosen instrument(R) to proclaim my name to the Gentiles(S) and their kings(T) and to the people of Israel. 16 I will show him how much he must suffer for my name.”(U)
17 Then Ananias went to the house and entered it. Saul in Damascus and Jerusalem
Saul spent several days with the disciples(Y) in Damascus.(Z) 20 At once he began to preach in the synagogues(AA) that Jesus is the Son of God.(AB) 21 All those who heard him were astonished and asked, “Isn’t he the man who raised havoc in Jerusalem among those who call on this name?(AC) And hasn’t he come here to take them as prisoners to the chief priests?”(AD) 22 Yet Saul grew more and more powerful and baffled the Jews living in Damascus by proving that Jesus is the Messiah.(AE)
23 After many days had gone by, there was a conspiracy among the Jews to kill him,(AF) 24 but Saul learned of their plan.(AG) Day and night they kept close watch on the city gates in order to kill him. 25 But his followers took him by night and lowered him in a basket through an opening in the wall.(AH)
26 When he came to Jerusalem,(AI) he tried to join the disciples, but they were all afraid of him, not believing that he really was a disciple. 27 But Barnabas(AJ) took him and brought him to the apostles. He told them how Saul on his journey had seen the Lord and that the Lord had spoken to him,(AK) and how in Damascus he had preached fearlessly in the name of Jesus.(AL) 28 So Saul stayed with them and moved about freely in Jerusalem, speaking boldly in the name of the Lord. 29 He talked and debated with the Hellenistic Jews,[a](AM) but they tried to kill him.(AN) 30 When the believers(AO) learned of this, they took him down to Caesarea(AP) and sent him off to Tarsus.(AQ)
31 Then the church throughout Judea, Galilee and Samaria(AR) enjoyed a time of peace and was strengthened. Living in the fear of the Lord and encouraged by the Holy Spirit, it increased in numbers.(AS)

39 Peter went with them, and when he arrived he was taken upstairs to the room. All the widows(BB) stood around him, crying and showing him the robes and other clothing that Dorcas had made while she was still with them.
40 Peter sent them all out of the room;(BC) then he got down on his knees(BD) and prayed. Turning toward the dead woman, he said, “Tabitha, get up.”(BE) She opened her eyes, and seeing Peter she sat up. 41 He took her by the hand and helped her to her feet. Then he called for the believers, especially the widows, and presented her to them alive. 42 This became known all over Joppa, and many people believed in the Lord.(BF) 43 Peter stayed in Joppa for some time with a tanner named Simon.(BG)

La vocazione di Saulo
9 Saulo frattanto, sempre fremente minaccia e strage contro i discepoli del Signore, si presentò al sommo sacerdote 2 e gli chiese lettere per le sinagoghe di Damasco al fine di essere autorizzato a condurre in catene a Gerusalemme uomini e donne, seguaci della dottrina di Cristo, che avesse trovati. 3 E avvenne che, mentre era in viaggio e stava per avvicinarsi a Damasco, all'improvviso lo avvolse una luce dal cielo 4 e cadendo a terra udì una voce che gli diceva: «Saulo, Saulo, perché mi perseguiti?». 5 Rispose: «Chi sei, o Signore?». E la voce: «Io sono Gesù, che tu perseguiti! 6 Orsù, alzati ed entra nella città e ti sarà detto ciò che devi fare». 7 Gli uomini che facevano il cammino con lui si erano fermati ammutoliti, sentendo la voce ma non vedendo nessuno. 8 Saulo si alzò da terra ma, aperti gli occhi, non vedeva nulla. Così, guidandolo per mano, lo condussero a Damasco, 9 dove rimase tre giorni senza vedere e senza prendere né cibo né bevanda.

Predicazione di Saulo a Damasco
Rimase alcuni giorni insieme ai discepoli che erano a Damasco, 20 e subito nelle sinagoghe proclamava Gesù Figlio di Dio. 21 E tutti quelli che lo ascoltavano si meravigliavano e dicevano: «Ma costui non è quel tale che a Gerusalemme infieriva contro quelli che invocano questo nome ed era venuto qua precisamente per condurli in catene dai sommi sacerdoti?». 22 Saulo frattanto si rinfrancava sempre più e confondeva i Giudei residenti a Damasco, dimostrando che Gesù è il Cristo. 23 Trascorsero così parecchi giorni e i Giudei fecero un complotto per ucciderlo; 24 ma i loro piani vennero a conoscenza di Saulo. Essi facevano la guardia anche alle porte della città di giorno e di notte per sopprimerlo; 25 ma i suoi discepoli di notte lo presero e lo fecero discendere dalle mura, calandolo in una cesta.
Visita di Saulo a Gerusalemme
26 Venuto a Gerusalemme, cercava di unirsi con i discepoli, ma tutti avevano paura di lui, non credendo ancora che fosse un discepolo. 27 Allora Barnaba lo prese con sé, lo presentò agli apostoli e raccontò loro come durante il viaggio aveva visto il Signore che gli aveva parlato, e come in Damasco aveva predicato con coraggio nel nome di Gesù. 28 Così egli potè stare con loro e andava e veniva a Gerusalemme, parlando apertamente nel nome del Signore 29 e parlava e discuteva con gli Ebrei di lingua greca; ma questi tentarono di ucciderlo. 30 Venutolo però a sapere i fratelli, lo condussero a Cesarèa e lo fecero partire per Tarso.
Periodo di tranquillità
31 La Chiesa era dunque in pace per tutta la Giudea, la Galilea e la Samaria; essa cresceva e camminava nel timore del Signore, colma del conforto dello Spirito Santo.
Pietro guarisce un paralitico a Lidda
32 E avvenne che mentre Pietro andava a far visita a tutti, si recò anche dai fedeli che dimoravano a Lidda. 33 Qui trovò un uomo di nome Enea, che da otto anni giaceva su un lettuccio ed era paralitico. 34 Pietro gli disse: «Enea, Gesù Cristo ti guarisce; alzati e rifatti il letto». E subito si alzò. 35 Lo videro tutti gli abitanti di Lidda e del Saròn e si convertirono al Signore.
Pietro risuscita una donna a Giaffa
36 A Giaffa c'era una discepola chiamata Tabità, nome che significa «Gazzella», la quale abbondava in opere buone e faceva molte elemosine. 37 Proprio in quei giorni si ammalò e morì. La lavarono e la deposero in una stanza al piano superiore. 38 E poiché Lidda era vicina a Giaffa i discepoli, udito che Pietro si trovava là, mandarono due uomini ad invitarlo: «Vieni subito da noi!». 39 E Pietro subito andò con loro. Appena arrivato lo condussero al piano superiore e gli si fecero incontro tutte le vedove in pianto che gli mostravano le tuniche e i mantelli che Gazzella confezionava quando era fra loro. 40 Pietro fece uscire tutti e si inginocchiò a pregare; poi rivolto alla salma disse: «Tabità, alzati!». Ed essa aprì gli occhi, vide Pietro e si mise a sedere. 41 Egli le diede la mano e la fece alzare, poi chiamò i credenti e le vedove, e la presentò loro viva.
42 La cosa si riseppe in tutta Giaffa, e molti credettero nel Signore. 43 Pietro rimase a Giaffa parecchi giorni, presso un certo Simone conciatore.
