42 士兵們的計劃是要把囚犯殺了，免得有人游泳逃脫。 43 可是百夫長想救保羅，就攔阻了他們的計劃，命令會游泳的人跳下船，先到岸上去， 44 其餘的人，有的用木板，有的用船上的東西跟著[a]；這樣，大家就都獲救上岸了。

King James Version
42 And the soldiers' counsel was to kill the prisoners, lest any of them should swim out, and escape.
43 But the centurion, willing to save Paul, kept them from their purpose; and commanded that they which could swim should cast themselves first into the sea, and get to land:
44 And the rest, some on boards, and some on broken pieces of the ship. And so it came to pass, that they escaped all safe to land.
