In Iconium
14 At Iconium(A) Paul and Barnabas went as usual into the Jewish synagogue.(B) There they spoke so effectively that a great number(C) of Jews and Greeks believed. 2 But the Jews who refused to believe stirred up the other Gentiles and poisoned their minds against the brothers.(D) 3 So Paul and Barnabas spent considerable time there, speaking boldly(E) for the Lord, who confirmed the message of his grace by enabling them to perform signs and wonders.(F) 4 The people of the city were divided; some sided with the Jews, others with the apostles.(G) 5 There was a plot afoot among both Gentiles and Jews,(H) together with their leaders, to mistreat them and stone them.(I) 6 But they found out about it and fled(J) to the Lycaonian cities of Lystra and Derbe and to the surrounding country, 7 where they continued to preach(K) the gospel.(L)
In Lystra and Derbe
8 In Lystra there sat a man who was lame. He had been that way from birth(M) and had never walked. 9 He listened to Paul as he was speaking. Paul looked directly at him, saw that he had faith to be healed(N) 10 and called out, “Stand up on your feet!”(O) At that, the man jumped up and began to walk.(P)
11 When the crowd saw what Paul had done, they shouted in the Lycaonian language, “The gods have come down to us in human form!”(Q) 12 Barnabas they called Zeus, and Paul they called Hermes because he was the chief speaker.(R) 13 The priest of Zeus, whose temple was just outside the city, brought bulls and wreaths to the city gates because he and the crowd wanted to offer sacrifices to them.
14 But when the apostles Barnabas and Paul heard of this, they tore their clothes(S) and rushed out into the crowd, shouting: 15 “Friends, why are you doing this? We too are only human,(T) like you. We are bringing you good news,(U) telling you to turn from these worthless things(V) to the living God,(W) who made the heavens and the earth(X) and the sea and everything in them.(Y) 16 In the past, he let(Z) all nations go their own way.(AA) 17 Yet he has not left himself without testimony:(AB) He has shown kindness by giving you rain from heaven and crops in their seasons;(AC) he provides you with plenty of food and fills your hearts with joy.”(AD) 18 Even with these words, they had difficulty keeping the crowd from sacrificing to them.
19 Then some Jews(AE) came from Antioch and Iconium(AF) and won the crowd over. They stoned Paul(AG) and dragged him outside the city, thinking he was dead. 20 But after the disciples(AH) had gathered around him, he got up and went back into the city. The next day he and Barnabas left for Derbe.
The Return to Antioch in Syria
21 They preached the gospel(AI) in that city and won a large number(AJ) of disciples. Then they returned to Lystra, Iconium(AK) and Antioch, 22 strengthening the disciples and encouraging them to remain true to the faith.(AL) “We must go through many hardships(AM) to enter the kingdom of God,” they said. 23 Paul and Barnabas appointed elders[a](AN) for them in each church and, with prayer and fasting,(AO) committed them to the Lord,(AP) in whom they had put their trust. 24 After going through Pisidia, they came into Pamphylia,(AQ) 25 and when they had preached the word in Perga, they went down to Attalia.
26 From Attalia they sailed back to Antioch,(AR) where they had been committed to the grace of God(AS) for the work they had now completed.(AT) 27 On arriving there, they gathered the church together and reported all that God had done through them(AU) and how he had opened a door(AV) of faith to the Gentiles. 28 And they stayed there a long time with the disciples.(AW)

14 Gayundin ang nangyari sa Iconio; sina Pablo at Bernabe ay pumasok sa sinagoga ng mga Judio. Napakahusay ng kanilang pangangaral kaya't maraming Judio at Griego ang sumampalataya. 2 Gayunman, may ilang Judiong ayaw sumampalataya. Sinulsulan pa nila ang mga Hentil at nilason ang isip ng mga ito laban sa mga kapatid. 3 Nanatili roon nang matagal sina Pablo at Bernabe, at buong tapang silang nangaral tungkol sa Panginoon. Pinatunayan ng Panginoon na totoo ang pangangaral nila tungkol sa kanyang kagandahang-loob sa pamamagitan ng pagbibigay sa kanila ng kapangyarihang gumawa ng mga himala. 4 Kaya't nahati ang mga tao sa lungsod; may pumanig sa mga Judio at may pumanig din sa mga apostol.
5 Binalak ng ilang mga Hentil at mga Judio, kasama ng kanilang mga pinuno, na saktan at pagbabatuhin ang mga apostol. 6 Subalit nang malaman iyon ng dalawa, sila'y tumakas papuntang Listra at Derbe na mga lungsod ng Licaonia, at sa mga karatig na lupain, 7 at doon sila nangaral ng Magandang Balita.

8 Sa Listra ay may isang lalaking hindi nakakalakad dahil lumpo na ito mula pa nang ito'y isilang. 9 Siya'y nakaupong nakikinig sa pangangaral ni Pablo. Nang makita ni Pablo na ang lumpo ay may pananampalatayang siya'y mapapagaling, tinitigan niya ang lumpo 10 at malakas na sinabi, “Tumayo ka nang tuwid!” Lumukso ang lalaki at nagsimulang lumakad.
11 Nang makita ng mga taong-bayan ang ginawa ni Pablo, sumigaw sila sa wikang Licaonia, “Nanaog sa atin ang mga diyos sa anyong tao!” 12 Tinawag nilang Zeus si Bernabe, at si Pablo nama'y Hermes, sapagkat siya ang pangunahing tagapagsalita. 13 Nasa bungad ng lungsod ang templo ni Zeus. Ang pari ni Zeus ay nagdala ng mga toro at mga kuwintas na bulaklak sa may pintuan ng lungsod. Nais ng pari at ng mga tao na maghandog sa mga apostol.
14 Nang malaman ito ng mga apostol na sina Bernabe at Pablo, pinunit nila ang kanilang mga damit at patakbong pumagitna sa mga tao. Sumigaw sila, 15 “Mga(A) ginoo, huwag ninyong gawin iyan! Mga tao rin kaming tulad ninyo! Ipinapangaral namin sa inyo ang Magandang Balita upang talikuran ninyo ang mga walang kabuluhang bagay na iyan, at manumbalik kayo sa Diyos na buháy na lumikha ng langit, lupa, dagat, at lahat ng naroroon. 16 Sa mga panahong nakalipas, hinayaan niyang gawin ng lahat ng bansa anuman ang kani-kanilang maibigan. 17 Gayunman, nagbigay siya ng sapat na katibayan upang makilala ninyo siya sa pamamagitan ng kabutihang ginagawa niya sa inyo. Binibigyan niya kayo ng ulan mula sa langit at ng masaganang ani sa takdang panahon. Binubusog niya kayo ng pagkain at pinupuno ng kagalakan ang inyong mga puso.” 18 Sa kabila ng mga pananalitang ito, nahirapan pa rin sina Bernabe at Pablo na pigilan ang mga tao na sila'y alayan ng mga handog.
19 Ngunit may mga Judiong dumating doon mula sa Antioquia at Iconio. Sinulsulan nila ang mga taga-Listra laban kay Pablo, kaya't siya'y pinagbabato nila. Pagkatapos, siya ay kinaladkad nila sa labas ng bayan, sa pag-aakalang siya'y patay na, 20 subalit nang dumating ang mga alagad at palibutan siya, tumayo si Pablo at pumasok sa lungsod. Kinabukasan, nagpunta sila ni Bernabe sa Derbe.

21 Ang Magandang Balita ay ipinangaral nina Pablo at Bernabe sa Derbe, at marami silang nahikayat na maging alagad. Pagkatapos, nagbalik sila sa Listra, Iconio, at Antioquia ng Pisidia. 22 Pinalakas nila ang loob ng mga alagad at pinayuhang manatiling tapat sa pananampalataya. “Daranas muna tayo ng maraming kapighatian upang makapasok sa kaharian ng Diyos,” sabi nila sa mga alagad. 23 Sa bawat iglesya ay nagtalaga sila ng mga matatandang mamumuno, at matapos manalangin at mag-ayuno, ang mga ito'y itinagubilin nila sa Panginoon na kanilang pinagtitiwalaan.
24 Tinahak nila ang Pisidia at nakarating sila sa Pamfilia. 25 Ipinangaral nila sa Perga ang salita ng Diyos at pagkatapos ay tumuloy sila sa Atalia. 26 Mula roon, naglayag silang pabalik sa Antioquia. Dito sila ipinagkatiwala sa pagkalinga ng Diyos para sa gawaing kanilang natapos na.
27 Pagdating sa Antioquia tinipon nila ang mga kaanib sa iglesya at isinalaysay ang lahat ng ginawa ng Diyos sa pamamagitan nila, at kung paanong nagbukas siya ng pagkakataon sa mga Hentil upang ang mga ito'y sumampalataya rin. 28 At matagal silang nanatili roon kasama ng mga alagad.

14 And it came to pass in Iconium, that they went both together into the synagogue of the Jews, and so spake, that a great multitude both of the Jews and also of the Greeks believed.
2 But the unbelieving Jews stirred up the Gentiles, and made their minds evil affected against the brethren.
3 Long time therefore abode they speaking boldly in the Lord, which gave testimony unto the word of his grace, and granted signs and wonders to be done by their hands.
4 But the multitude of the city was divided: and part held with the Jews, and part with the apostles.
5 And when there was an assault made both of the Gentiles, and also of the Jews with their rulers, to use them despitefully, and to stone them,
6 They were ware of it, and fled unto Lystra and Derbe, cities of Lycaonia, and unto the region that lieth round about:
7 And there they preached the gospel.
8 And there sat a certain man at Lystra, impotent in his feet, being a cripple from his mother's womb, who never had walked:
9 The same heard Paul speak: who stedfastly beholding him, and perceiving that he had faith to be healed,
10 Said with a loud voice, Stand upright on thy feet. And he leaped and walked.
11 And when the people saw what Paul had done, they lifted up their voices, saying in the speech of Lycaonia, The gods are come down to us in the likeness of men.
12 And they called Barnabas, Jupiter; and Paul, Mercurius, because he was the chief speaker.
13 Then the priest of Jupiter, which was before their city, brought oxen and garlands unto the gates, and would have done sacrifice with the people.
14 Which when the apostles, Barnabas and Paul, heard of, they rent their clothes, and ran in among the people, crying out,
15 And saying, Sirs, why do ye these things? We also are men of like passions with you, and preach unto you that ye should turn from these vanities unto the living God, which made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and all things that are therein:
16 Who in times past suffered all nations to walk in their own ways.
17 Nevertheless he left not himself without witness, in that he did good, and gave us rain from heaven, and fruitful seasons, filling our hearts with food and gladness.
18 And with these sayings scarce restrained they the people, that they had not done sacrifice unto them.
19 And there came thither certain Jews from Antioch and Iconium, who persuaded the people, and having stoned Paul, drew him out of the city, supposing he had been dead.
20 Howbeit, as the disciples stood round about him, he rose up, and came into the city: and the next day he departed with Barnabas to Derbe.
21 And when they had preached the gospel to that city, and had taught many, they returned again to Lystra, and to Iconium, and Antioch,
22 Confirming the souls of the disciples, and exhorting them to continue in the faith, and that we must through much tribulation enter into the kingdom of God.
23 And when they had ordained them elders in every church, and had prayed with fasting, they commended them to the Lord, on whom they believed.
24 And after they had passed throughout Pisidia, they came to Pamphylia.
25 And when they had preached the word in Perga, they went down into Attalia:
26 And thence sailed to Antioch, from whence they had been recommended to the grace of God for the work which they fulfilled.
27 And when they were come, and had gathered the church together, they rehearsed all that God had done with them, and how he had opened the door of faith unto the Gentiles.
28 And there they abode long time with the disciples.
