21 此後，他們要求立一個王，神就把便雅憫支派的一個人，基士的兒子掃羅給他們為王[a]，共四十年。 22 後來神廢除了掃羅，興起大衛做他們的王，並且為他見證說：『我找到了耶西的兒子大衛，一個合乎我心意的人，他將遵行我的一切旨意。』[b]
23 「神照著應許，從這人的後裔中給以色列帶來了一位救主，就是耶穌。

21 Then the people asked for a king,(A) and he gave them Saul(B) son of Kish, of the tribe of Benjamin,(C) who ruled forty years. 22 After removing Saul,(D) he made David their king.(E) God testified concerning him: ‘I have found David son of Jesse, a man after my own heart;(F) he will do everything I want him to do.’(G)
23 “From this man’s descendants(H) God has brought to Israel the Savior(I) Jesus,(J) as he promised.(K)
