1 提 阿 非 羅 阿 ， 我 已 經 作 了 前 書 ， 論 到 耶 穌 開 頭 一 切 所 行 所 教 訓 的 ，
2 直 到 他 藉 著 聖 靈 吩 咐 所 揀 選 的 使 徒 ， 以 後 被 接 上 升 的 日 子 為 止 。
3 他 受 害 之 後 ， 用 許 多 的 憑 據 將 自 己 活 活 的 顯 給 使 徒 看 ， 四 十 天 之 久 向 他 們 顯 現 ， 講 說 神 國 的 事 。
4 耶 穌 和 他 們 聚 集 的 時 候 ， 囑 咐 他 們 說 ： 不 要 離 開 耶 路 撒 冷 ， 要 等 候 父 所 應 許 的 ， 就 是 你 們 聽 見 我 說 過 的 。
5 約 翰 是 用 水 施 洗 ， 但 不 多 幾 日 ， 你 們 要 受 聖 靈 的 洗 。
6 他 們 聚 集 的 時 候 ， 問 耶 穌 說 ： 主 阿 ， 你 復 興 以 色 列 國 就 在 這 時 候 麼 ？
7 耶 穌 對 他 們 說 ： 父 憑 著 自 己 的 權 柄 所 定 的 時 候 、 日 期 ， 不 是 你 們 可 以 知 道 的 。
8 但 聖 靈 降 臨 在 你 們 身 上 ， 你 們 就 必 得 著 能 力 ， 並 要 在 耶 路 撒 冷 、 猶 太 全 地 ， 和 撒 瑪 利 亞 ， 直 到 地 極 ， 作 我 的 見 證 。
9 說 了 這 話 ， 他 們 正 看 的 時 候 ， 他 就 被 取 上 升 ， 有 一 朵 雲 彩 把 他 接 去 ， 便 看 不 見 他 了 。
10 當 他 往 上 去 ， 他 們 定 睛 望 天 的 時 候 ， 忽 然 有 兩 個 人 身 穿 白 衣 ， 站 在 旁 邊 ， 說 ：
11 加 利 利 人 哪 ， 你 們 為 甚 麼 站 著 望 天 呢 ？ 這 離 開 你 們 被 接 升 天 的 耶 穌 ， 你 們 見 他 怎 樣 往 天 上 去 ， 他 還 要 怎 樣 來 。
12 有 一 座 山 ， 名 叫 橄 欖 山 ， 離 耶 路 撒 冷 不 遠 ， 約 有 安 息 日 可 走 的 路 程 。 當 下 ， 門 徒 從 那 裡 回 耶 路 撒 冷 去 ，
13 進 了 城 ， 就 上 了 所 住 的 一 間 樓 房 ； 在 那 裡 有 彼 得 、 約 翰 、 雅 各 、 安 得 烈 、 腓 力 、 多 馬 、 巴 多 羅 買 、 馬 太 、 亞 勒 腓 的 兒 子 雅 各 、 奮 銳 黨 的 西 門 ， 和 雅 各 的 兒 子 （ 或 作 ： 兄 弟 ） 猶 大 。
14 這 些 人 同 著 幾 個 婦 人 和 耶 穌 的 母 親 馬 利 亞 ， 並 耶 穌 的 弟 兄 ， 都 同 心 合 意 的 恆 切 禱 告 。
15 那 時 ， 有 許 多 人 聚 會 ， 約 有 一 百 二 十 名 ， 彼 得 就 在 弟 兄 中 間 站 起 來 ， 說 ：
16 弟 兄 們 ！ 聖 靈 藉 大 衛 的 口 ， 在 聖 經 上 預 言 領 人 捉 拿 耶 穌 的 猶 大 ， 這 話 是 必 須 應 驗 的 。
17 他 本 來 列 在 我 們 數 中 ， 並 且 在 使 徒 的 職 任 上 得 了 一 分 。
18 這 人 用 他 作 惡 的 工 價 買 了 一 塊 田 ， 以 後 身 子 仆 倒 ， 肚 腹 崩 裂 ， 腸 子 都 流 出 來 。
19 住 在 耶 路 撒 冷 的 眾 人 都 知 道 這 事 ， 所 以 按 著 他 們 那 裡 的 話 給 那 塊 田 起 名 叫 亞 革 大 馬 ， 就 是 血 田 的 意 思 。
20 因 為 詩 篇 上 寫 著 ， 說 ： 願 他 的 住 處 變 為 荒 場 ， 無 人 在 內 居 住 ； 又 說 ： 願 別 人 得 他 的 職 分 。
21 所 以 ， 主 耶 穌 在 我 們 中 間 始 終 出 入 的 時 候 ，
22 就 是 從 約 翰 施 洗 起 ， 直 到 主 離 開 我 們 被 接 上 升 的 日 子 為 止 ， 必 須 從 那 常 與 我 們 作 伴 的 人 中 立 一 位 與 我 們 同 作 耶 穌 復 活 的 見 證 。
23 於 是 選 舉 兩 個 人 ， 就 是 那 叫 作 巴 撒 巴 ， 又 稱 呼 猶 士 都 的 約 瑟 ， 和 馬 提 亞 。
24 眾 人 就 禱 告 說 ： 主 阿 ， 你 知 道 萬 人 的 心 ， 求 你 從 這 兩 個 人 中 ， 指 明 你 所 揀 選 的 是 誰 ， 叫 他 得 這 使 徒 的 位 分 。 這 位 分 猶 大 已 經 丟 棄 ， 往 自 己 的 地 方 去 了 。

賜聖靈的應許
1 提阿非羅啊，我在第一本書中已論到耶穌從開頭所做和所教導的一切事， 2 直到他藉着聖靈吩咐所揀選的使徒後，被接上升的日子為止。 3 他受害以後，用許多確據向使徒顯明自己是活着的，在四十天之中向他們顯現，並講說 神國的事。 4 耶穌和他們聚集的時候，囑咐他們說：「不要離開耶路撒冷，但要等候父的應許，就是你們聽見我說過的。 5 約翰是用水施洗，但過了不多幾天，你們要在聖靈裏受洗。」
耶穌升天
6 他們聚集的時候，問耶穌：「主啊，你就要在這時候復興以色列國嗎？」 7 耶穌對他們說：「父憑着自己的權柄所定的時候和日期，不是你們可以知道的。 8 但聖靈降臨在你們身上，你們就必得着能力，並要在耶路撒冷、猶太全地和撒瑪利亞，直到地極，作我的見證。」 9 說了這些話，他們正看的時候，他被接上升，有一朵雲彩從他們眼前把他接去。 10 他升上去的時候，他們定睛望天，看哪，有兩個人身穿白衣站在他們旁邊， 11 說：「加利利人哪，你們為甚麼站着望天呢？這離開你們被接升天的耶穌，你們見他怎樣升上天去，他也要怎樣來臨。」
接替猶大職分的人
12 有一座山，名叫橄欖山，離耶路撒冷不遠，有安息日可行走的路程[a]。那時，門徒從那裏回耶路撒冷去， 13 他們一進城，就上了所住的樓房；在那裏有彼得、約翰、雅各、安得烈、腓力、多馬、巴多羅買、馬太、亞勒腓的兒子雅各、激進黨的西門，和雅各的兒子[b]猶大。 14 這些人和幾個婦人，包括耶穌的母親馬利亞，和耶穌的兄弟，都同心合意地恆切禱告。
15 那時，有許多人聚會，約有一百二十名，彼得在弟兄中間站起來，說： 16 「諸位弟兄，聖經的話必須應驗。聖經中，聖靈曾藉大衛的口預先說到那領人來拿耶穌的猶大； 17 他本來算是我們中的一個，並且得了這一份使徒的職任。 18 這人用他不義的代價買了一塊田，以後身子仆倒，肚腹崩裂，腸子都流出來。 19 住在耶路撒冷的人都知道這事，所以按着他們當地的話把那塊田叫亞革大馬，就是「血田」的意思。 20 因為《詩篇》上寫着：
「願他的住處變為廢墟，
無人在內居住。」
又說：
「願別人得他的職分。」
21-22 所以，主耶穌在我們中間出入的整段時間，就是從約翰施洗起，直到主離開我們被接上升的日子為止，必須從那常與我們一起的人中，立一位與我們同作耶穌復活的見證。」 23 於是他們推舉兩個人，就是那叫巴撒巴，又稱為猶士都的約瑟，和馬提亞。 24 眾人禱告說：「主啊，你知道萬人的心，求你從這兩個人中指明你所揀選的是哪一位， 25 去得這使徒的職任；這職位猶大已經丟棄，往自己的地方去了。」 26 於是眾人為他們搖籤，搖出馬提亞來；他就和十一個使徒同列。

1 The former treatise have I made, O Theophilus, of all that Jesus began both to do and teach,
2 Until the day in which he was taken up, after that he through the Holy Ghost had given commandments unto the apostles whom he had chosen:
3 To whom also he shewed himself alive after his passion by many infallible proofs, being seen of them forty days, and speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God:
4 And, being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, saith he, ye have heard of me.
5 For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence.
6 When they therefore were come together, they asked of him, saying, Lord, wilt thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel?
7 And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power.
8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.
9 And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight.
10 And while they looked stedfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel;
11 Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.
12 Then returned they unto Jerusalem from the mount called Olivet, which is from Jerusalem a sabbath day's journey.
13 And when they were come in, they went up into an upper room, where abode both Peter, and James, and John, and Andrew, Philip, and Thomas, Bartholomew, and Matthew, James the son of Alphaeus, and Simon Zelotes, and Judas the brother of James.
14 These all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication, with the women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brethren.
15 And in those days Peter stood up in the midst of the disciples, and said, (the number of names together were about an hundred and twenty,)
16 Men and brethren, this scripture must needs have been fulfilled, which the Holy Ghost by the mouth of David spake before concerning Judas, which was guide to them that took Jesus.
17 For he was numbered with us, and had obtained part of this ministry.
18 Now this man purchased a field with the reward of iniquity; and falling headlong, he burst asunder in the midst, and all his bowels gushed out.
19 And it was known unto all the dwellers at Jerusalem; insomuch as that field is called in their proper tongue, Aceldama, that is to say, The field of blood.
20 For it is written in the book of Psalms, Let his habitation be desolate, and let no man dwell therein: and his bishoprick let another take.
21 Wherefore of these men which have companied with us all the time that the Lord Jesus went in and out among us,
22 Beginning from the baptism of John, unto that same day that he was taken up from us, must one be ordained to be a witness with us of his resurrection.
23 And they appointed two, Joseph called Barsabas, who was surnamed Justus, and Matthias.
24 And they prayed, and said, Thou, Lord, which knowest the hearts of all men, shew whether of these two thou hast chosen,
25 That he may take part of this ministry and apostleship, from which Judas by transgression fell, that he might go to his own place.
26 And they gave forth their lots; and the lot fell upon Matthias; and he was numbered with the eleven apostles.
