28 我們脫險之後，才知道那島名叫馬爾他。 2 當地的人對我們非常友善；因為下過一場雨，天氣又冷，他們就生了火來招待我們。 3 保羅拾了一捆乾柴，放在火上的時候，有一條毒蛇，受不住熱，爬了出來，纏住他的手。 4 當地的人看見那條蛇懸在他手上，就彼此說：“這個人一定是兇手，雖然從海裡脫險，天理也不容他活著！” 5 但是保羅卻把那條蛇抖在火裡，自己一點也沒有受傷。 6 他們等著看他發腫，或者忽然暴斃。但等了很久，見他平安無事，就轉念說，他是個神明。 7 那地附近有些田產，是島上的首領部百流所擁有的。他歡迎我們，善意招待我們三天。 8 那時，部百流的父親患了痢疾，發熱臥病在床，保羅到他那裡，為他祈禱按手，醫好了他。 9 這麼一來，島上其他有病的都來了，也都治好了。 10 他們多方面尊敬我們；到開船的時候，又把我們所需要的東西送來。

11 過了三個月，我們上了一艘亞歷山太來的船。這船在島上過冬，船的名字是“宙斯雙子”。 12 到了敘拉古，我們停留了三天。 13 從那裡繞道航行，來到利基翁。過了一天，起了南風，第二天到達部丟利。 14 我們在那裡遇見一些弟兄，他們邀請我們一同住了七天。這樣，我們就來到了羅馬。 15 弟兄們聽到了我們的消息，就從羅馬出來，在亞比烏和三館迎接我們。保羅見了他們，就感謝 神，膽子也壯了起來。

16 我們到了羅馬，保羅獲准獨自與看守他的士兵居住。 17 過了三天，保羅請猶太人的首領來。他們都到了，保羅說：“各位弟兄，我雖然沒有作過甚麼事反對人民或者反對祖先的規例，卻像囚犯被逮捕，從耶路撒冷交到羅馬人的手裡。 18 他們審訊之後，因為在我身上沒有甚麼該死的罪，就想要釋放我。 19 可是猶太人反對，我迫不得已才上訴凱撒，並不是有甚麼事要控告我的國民。 20 因此，我請你們來見面談談。我原是為了以色列的盼望，才帶上這條鎖鍊的。” 21 他們說：“我們沒有收到猶太來的信，是提到你的，弟兄中也沒有人來報告，或說你甚麼壞話。 22 但我們覺得應該聽聽你本人的意見，因為關於這教派，我們知道是到處遭人反對的。”
23 他們和保羅約好了一個日子，到那日有很多人到他的住所來見他。他從早到晚向他們講解，為 神的國竭力作見證，引用摩西的律法和先知的話勸他們信耶穌。 24 他所說的話，有人信服，也有人不信。 25 他們彼此不合，就分散了。未散以前，保羅說了幾句話：“聖靈藉以賽亞先知對你們祖先所說的，一點不錯。 26 他說：
‘你去告訴這人民：
你們聽是聽見了，總是不明白；
看是看見了，總是不領悟。
27 因為這人民的心思遲鈍，
用不靈的耳朵去聽，
又閉上了眼睛；
免得自己眼睛看見，
耳朵聽見，
心裡明白，回轉過來，
我就醫好他們。’
28 所以你們應當知道， 神這救恩，已經傳給外族人，他們也必聽從。”（有些抄本在此有第29節：“他說了這話，猶太人中間大起爭論，就走了。”）
30 保羅在自己所租的房子裡，住了整整兩年。凡來見他的人，他都接待， 31 並且放膽地傳講 神的國，教導有關主耶穌基督的事，沒有受到甚麼禁止。

28 我們安全上岸後，才知道那個島的名字叫馬爾他。 2 島上的居民對我們非常友善。因為下雨，天氣又冷，他們就生火接待我們。 3 保羅拿起一捆柴放進火堆裡，不料有一條毒蛇經不住熱鑽了出來，咬住了他的手。 4 那裡的居民看見毒蛇吊在保羅手上，就交頭接耳地說：「這人一定是個兇手，雖然僥倖沒有淹死，天理卻不容他活下去。」 5 可是保羅把蛇甩進火裡，並沒有受傷。 6 他們以為保羅的手一定會腫起來或者他會突然倒斃，但是等了很久，見他還是安然無恙，就改變了態度，說他是個神明。
7 那個島的首領名叫部百流，他的田產就在附近。他接待我們，熱情款待了我們三天。 8 當時，部百流的父親患痢疾，正發熱躺在床上。保羅去為他禱告，把手按在他身上治好了他。 9 這事以後，島上其他的病人都來了，他們都得了醫治。 10 他們處處尊敬我們，在我們啟航的時候，又贈送我們途中所需用的物品。

11 三個月後，我們搭乘一艘停在該島過冬的船離開。這船叫「雙神號」，來自亞歷山大。 12 我們先到敘拉古港，在那裡停泊三天， 13 然後繼續前行，到達利基翁。第二天，起了南風，第三天我們抵達部丟利， 14 在那裡遇見幾位弟兄姊妹，應邀和他們同住了七天，然後前往羅馬。 15 那裡的弟兄姊妹聽說我們來了，便到亞比烏和三館迎接我們。保羅見到他們後，就感謝上帝，心中受到鼓勵。 16 進了羅馬城後，保羅獲准在衛兵的看守下自己一個人住。

17 三天後，保羅請來當地猶太人的首領，對他們說：「弟兄們，雖然我沒有做過任何對不起同胞或違背祖先規矩的事，卻在耶路撒冷遭囚禁，又被交到羅馬人的手裡。 18 羅馬官員審訊了我，發現我沒有什麼該死的罪，想釋放我， 19 猶太人卻反對，我不得已只好上訴凱撒。我並非有什麼事要控告自己的同胞。 20 為此，我才請你們來當面談，我受捆綁是為了以色列人所盼望的那位。」
21 他們說：「猶太境內的同胞沒有給我們寫信提及你的事，也沒有弟兄到這裡說你的壞話。 22 不過，我們倒很想聽聽你的觀點，因為我們知道你們這一派的人到處受人抨擊。」
23 於是，他們和保羅約定了會面的日期。那一天，很多人來到保羅住的地方。從早到晚，保羅向他們傳揚上帝國的道，引用摩西律法和先知書勸他們相信有關耶穌的事。 24 有些人聽後相信了他的話，有些人不相信， 25 他們彼此意見不一。在他們散去之前，保羅說了一句話：「聖靈藉以賽亞先知對你們祖先所說的話真是一點不錯， 26 祂說，
『你去告訴百姓，
你們聽了又聽，卻不明白；
看了又看，卻不領悟。
27 因為這百姓心靈麻木，
耳朵發背，眼睛昏花，
以致眼睛看不見，
耳朵聽不見，心裡不明白，無法回心轉意，
得不到我的醫治。』
28 所以你們當知道，上帝的救恩已經傳給了外族人，他們也必聽。」
29 聽完保羅的話後，那些猶太人就回去了，他們中間起了激烈的爭論。[a]
30 後來，保羅租了一間房子，在那裡住了整整兩年，接待所有到訪的人。 31 他勇敢地傳講上帝的國，教導有關主耶穌基督的事，沒有受到任何攔阻。

28 大家安全上岸后，才知道这个岛名叫马耳他。 2 当地居民们对我们非常热情，他们生了一堆火，迎接我们大家，因为当时下雨天冷。 3 保罗又拾来了一堆柴火，放在火上。这时一条蛇因为热钻了出来，咬住了保罗的手， 4 当地居民看到蛇从保罗的手上垂下来，彼此便说道∶“这家伙肯定是个杀人犯，虽然他从海上逃了出来，义 [a]还是不让他活。” 5 但是保罗把蛇甩到了火里，自己一点也没受伤害。 6 他们原以为，他会肿胀或者突然倒地死去，可等了好久，什么异常现象都没看见，就改变了对他的看法，说他是个神。
7 离那个地方不远，酋长部百流有一些田产。他把我们迎到家里，热情地款待了我们三天。 8 酋长的父亲正患热病和痢疾，躺在床上。保罗走进屋去看望他。祷告一番之后，把手放在了他的身上，他便被治愈了。 9 此后，岛上有病的人都来了，并都得到了治疗。 10 他们给了我们很多礼物。当我们启程时，为我们备齐了所需的东西。

11 三个月以后，我们登上了一艘在马耳他过冬的船出海了。它来自亚力山太城，艏像是双神 [b]。 12 我们到了叙拉古，在那里呆了三天。 13 然后，又从那里出发，到了利基翁。一天后刮起了一阵南风。第二天我们来到了部丢利。 14 我们在那儿找到了一些兄弟。他们邀请我们在那里住了七天，然后，就这样，我们来到了罗马。 15 罗马的弟兄们已经听说了我们抵达的消息，便来到远至亚比乌 [c]和三馆 [d]去迎接我们。保罗看到他们时，就感谢上帝，并鼓起了勇气。

21 犹太首领们对保罗说∶“我们没有从犹大接到有关你的信。从那里来的兄弟们，也没有一个人说过你的坏话， 22 但是我们想听听你的观点，因为我们知道，这个教派处处受人反驳。”
23 于是，他们与保罗约定了聚会的日子。那天，有许多人来到了他住的地方。保罗从早到晚，向他们讲解并为上帝王国做了见证，并努力用摩西律法和先知著作，来使他们信服关于耶稣的事情。 24 对于他所说的话，有些人信服，而其他人却不信。 25 他说完这话后，这些人之间的意见不一致，他们便开始离开。临走之前，保罗对他们说了这些话：
“圣灵通过先知以赛亚对你们的祖先讲得多好啊。他说：
26 ‘你去告诉这个民族，
你们会听了又听，
但却不会理解：
你们将会看了又看，可却理解不了所看见的。
27 因为这个民族的心已变得如此地迟钝，
他们的耳朵听力有困难，
他们闭上了眼睛，
不然的话，他们的眼睛可以看见，
耳朵可以听见，
心会领悟，
在忏诲中归向我，
我会治愈他们的。’ (A)
28 因此，你们应该知道上帝的这个拯救已被传送给了外族人，他们是会听的！” 29 [e]
30 保罗在用自己的费用所租的房子里住了整整两年。这期间，他热情地接待了所有去看望他的人们。 31 他向人们宣告上帝王国，并教导主耶稣基督的事。他大胆地讲，而且也没有受到过任何阻碍。

28 Estando ya a salvo, supimos que la isla se llamaba Malta. 2 Y los naturales nos trataron con no poca humanidad; porque encendiendo un fuego, nos recibieron a todos, a causa de la lluvia que caía, y del frío. 3 Entonces, habiendo recogido Pablo algunas ramas secas, las echó al fuego; y una víbora, huyendo del calor, se le prendió en la mano. 4 Cuando los naturales vieron la víbora colgando de su mano, se decían unos a otros: Ciertamente este hombre es homicida, a quien, escapado del mar, la justicia no deja vivir. 5 Pero él, sacudiendo la víbora en el fuego, ningún daño padeció. 6 Ellos estaban esperando que él se hinchase, o cayese muerto de repente; mas habiendo esperado mucho, y viendo que ningún mal le venía, cambiaron de parecer y dijeron que era un dios.
7 En aquellos lugares había propiedades del hombre principal de la isla, llamado Publio, quien nos recibió y hospedó solícitamente tres días. 8 Y aconteció que el padre de Publio estaba en cama, enfermo de fiebre y de disentería; y entró Pablo a verle, y después de haber orado, le impuso las manos, y le sanó. 9 Hecho esto, también los otros que en la isla tenían enfermedades, venían, y eran sanados; 10 los cuales también nos honraron con muchas atenciones; y cuando zarpamos, nos cargaron de las cosas necesarias.

11 Pasados tres meses, nos hicimos a la vela en una nave alejandrina que había invernado en la isla, la cual tenía por enseña a Cástor y Pólux. 12 Y llegados a Siracusa, estuvimos allí tres días. 13 De allí, costeando alrededor, llegamos a Regio; y otro día después, soplando el viento sur, llegamos al segundo día a Puteoli, 14 donde habiendo hallado hermanos, nos rogaron que nos quedásemos con ellos siete días; y luego fuimos a Roma, 15 de donde, oyendo de nosotros los hermanos, salieron a recibirnos hasta el Foro de Apio y las Tres Tabernas; y al verlos, Pablo dio gracias a Dios y cobró aliento. 16 Cuando llegamos a Roma, el centurión entregó los presos al prefecto militar, pero a Pablo se le permitió vivir aparte, con un soldado que le custodiase.

17 Aconteció que tres días después, Pablo convocó a los principales de los judíos, a los cuales, luego que estuvieron reunidos, les dijo: Yo, varones hermanos, no habiendo hecho nada contra el pueblo, ni contra las costumbres de nuestros padres, he sido entregado preso desde Jerusalén en manos de los romanos; 18 los cuales, habiéndome examinado, me querían soltar, por no haber en mí ninguna causa de muerte. 19 Pero oponiéndose los judíos, me vi obligado a apelar a César;(A) no porque tenga de qué acusar a mi nación. 20 Así que por esta causa os he llamado para veros y hablaros; porque por la esperanza de Israel estoy sujeto con esta cadena. 21 Entonces ellos le dijeron: Nosotros ni hemos recibido de Judea cartas acerca de ti, ni ha venido alguno de los hermanos que haya denunciado o hablado algún mal de ti. 22 Pero querríamos oír de ti lo que piensas; porque de esta secta nos es notorio que en todas partes se habla contra ella.
23 Y habiéndole señalado un día, vinieron a él muchos a la posada, a los cuales les declaraba y les testificaba el reino de Dios desde la mañana hasta la tarde, persuadiéndoles acerca de Jesús, tanto por la ley de Moisés como por los profetas. 24 Y algunos asentían a lo que se decía, pero otros no creían. 25 Y como no estuviesen de acuerdo entre sí, al retirarse, les dijo Pablo esta palabra: Bien habló el Espíritu Santo por medio del profeta Isaías a nuestros padres, diciendo:
26 Ve a este pueblo, y diles:
De oído oiréis, y no entenderéis;
Y viendo veréis, y no percibiréis;
27 Porque el corazón de este pueblo se ha engrosado,
Y con los oídos oyeron pesadamente,
Y sus ojos han cerrado,
Para que no vean con los ojos,
Y oigan con los oídos,
Y entiendan de corazón,
Y se conviertan,
Y yo los sane.(B)
28 Sabed, pues, que a los gentiles es enviada esta salvación de Dios; y ellos oirán. 29 Y cuando hubo dicho esto, los judíos se fueron, teniendo gran discusión entre sí.
30 Y Pablo permaneció dos años enteros en una casa alquilada, y recibía a todos los que a él venían, 31 predicando el reino de Dios y enseñando acerca del Señor Jesucristo, abiertamente y sin impedimento.

Paul on the Island of Malta
28 When we were safely on shore, we found out that the island was called Malta. 2 The people who lived on the island were unusually kind to us. They made a fire and welcomed all of us around it because of the rain and the cold.
3 Paul gathered a bundle of brushwood and put it on the fire. The heat forced a poisonous snake out of the brushwood. The snake bit Paul’s hand and wouldn’t let go. 4 When the people who lived on the island saw the snake hanging from his hand, they said to each other, “This man must be a murderer! He may have escaped from the sea, but justice won’t let him live.”
5 Paul shook the snake into the fire and wasn’t harmed. 6 The people were waiting for him to swell up or suddenly drop dead. But after they had waited a long time and saw nothing unusual happen to him, they changed their minds and said he was a god.
7 A man named Publius, who was the governor of the island, had property around the area. He welcomed us and treated us kindly, and for three days we were his guests. 8 His father happened to be sick in bed. He was suffering from fever and dysentery. Paul went to him, prayed, placed his hands on him, and made him well.
9 After that had happened, other sick people on the island went to Paul and were made well. 10 They showed respect for us in many ways, and when we were going to set sail, they put whatever we needed on board.

11 After three months we sailed on an Alexandrian ship that had spent the winter at the island. The ship had the gods Castor and Pollux carved on its front. 12 We stopped at the city of Syracuse and stayed there for three days. 13 We sailed from Syracuse and arrived at the city of Rhegium. The next day a south wind began to blow, and two days later we arrived at the city of Puteoli. 14 In Puteoli we discovered some believers who begged us to spend a week with them.
15 Believers in Rome heard that we were coming, so they came as far as the cities of Appius’ Market and Three Taverns to meet us. When Paul saw them, he thanked God and felt encouraged. So we finally arrived in the city of Rome.[a] 16 After our arrival, Paul was allowed to live by himself, but he had a soldier who guarded him.

17 After three days Paul invited the most influential Jews in Rome to meet with him. When they assembled, he said to them, “Brothers, I haven’t done anything against the Jewish people or violated the customs handed down by our ancestors. Yet, I’m a prisoner from Jerusalem, and I’ve been handed over to the Roman authorities. 18 The Roman authorities cross-examined me and wanted to let me go because I was accused of nothing for which I deserved to die. 19 But when the Jews objected, I was forced to appeal my case to the emperor. That doesn’t mean I have any charges to bring against my own people. 20 That’s why I asked to see you and speak with you. I’m wearing these chains because of what Israel hopes for.”
21 The Jewish leaders told Paul, “We haven’t received any letters from Judea about you, and no Jewish person who has come to Rome has reported or mentioned anything bad about you. 22 However, we would like to hear what you think. We know that everywhere people are talking against this sect.”
23 On a designated day a larger number of influential Jews ⌞than expected⌟ went to the place where Paul was staying. From morning until evening, Paul was explaining God’s kingdom to them. He was trying to convince them about Jesus from Moses’ Teachings and the Prophets. 24 Some of them were convinced by what he said, but others continued to disbelieve.
25 The Jews, unable to agree among themselves, left after Paul had quoted this particular passage to them: “How well the Holy Spirit spoke to your ancestors through the prophet Isaiah! 26 The Spirit said: ‘Go to these people and say,
“You will hear clearly but never understand.
You will see clearly but never comprehend.
27 These people have become close-minded
and hard of hearing.
They have shut their eyes
so that their eyes never see.
Their ears never hear.
Their minds never understand.
And they never turn to me for healing.” ’
28 “You need to know that God has sent his salvation to people who are not Jews. They will listen.” [b]
30 Paul rented a place to live for two full years and welcomed everyone who came to him. 31 He spread the message about God’s kingdom and taught very boldly about the Lord Jesus Christ. No one stopped him.
