²⁶祂說，

『你去告訴百姓，
你們聽了又聽，卻不明白；
看了又看，卻不領悟。
²⁷因為這百姓心靈麻木，
耳朵發背，眼睛昏花，
以致眼睛看不見，
耳朵聽不見，心裡不明白，無法回心轉意，
得不到我的醫治。』

²⁸所以你們當知道，上帝的救恩已經傳給了外族人，他們也必聽。」

New International Version

²⁶“‘Go to this people and say,
“You will be ever hearing but never understanding;
    you will be ever seeing but never perceiving.”
²⁷For this people’s heart has become calloused;^(A)
    they hardly hear with their ears,
    and they have closed their eyes.
Otherwise they might see with their eyes,
    hear with their ears,
    understand with their hearts
and turn, and I would heal them.’^[a]^(B)

²⁸“Therefore I want you to know that God’s salvation^(C) has been sent to the Gentiles,^(D) and they will listen!”

“Hearing you will hear, and shall not understand;

Their ears are hard of hearing,
And their eyes they have closed,
Lest they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears,
Lest they should understand with their hearts and turn,
So that I should heal them.” ’
