26 亚基帕对保罗说：“准你为自己辩明。”于是保罗伸手分诉说： 2 “亚基帕王啊，犹太人所告我的一切事，今日得在你面前分诉，实为万幸。 3 更可幸的是，你熟悉犹太人的规矩和他们的辩论。所以，求你耐心听我。 4 我从起初在本国的民中，并在耶路撒冷，自幼为人如何，犹太人都知道。 5 他们若肯作见证，就晓得我从起初是按着我们教中最严紧的教门做了法利赛人。 6 现在我站在这里受审，是因为指望神向我们祖宗所应许的。 7 这应许，我们十二个支派昼夜切切地侍奉神，都指望得着。王啊，我被犹太人控告，就是因这指望。 8 神叫死人复活，你们为什么看做不可信的呢？ 9 从前我自己以为应当多方攻击拿撒勒人耶稣的名， 10 我在耶路撒冷也曾这样行了。既从祭司长得了权柄，我就把许多圣徒囚在监里；他们被杀，我也出名定案。 11 在各会堂，我屡次用刑强逼他们说亵渎的话，又分外恼恨他们，甚至追逼他们，直到外邦的城邑。 12 那时，我领了祭司长的权柄和命令，往大马士革去。 13 王啊，我在路上，晌午的时候，看见从天发光，比日头还亮，四面照着我并与我同行的人。 14 我们都仆倒在地，我就听见有声音用希伯来话向我说：‘扫罗，扫罗，为什么逼迫我？你用脚踢刺是难的。’ 15 我说：‘主啊，你是谁？’主说：‘我就是你所逼迫的耶稣。

16 “你起来站着！我特意向你显现，要派你做执事，作见证，将你所看见的事和我将要指示你的事证明出来。 17 我也要救你脱离百姓和外邦人的手。 18 我差你到他们那里去，要叫他们的眼睛得开，从黑暗中归向光明，从撒旦权下归向神；又因信我，得蒙赦罪，和一切成圣的人同得基业。’ 19 亚基帕王啊，我故此没有违背那从天上来的异象， 20 先在大马士革，后在耶路撒冷和犹太全地，以及外邦，劝勉他们应当悔改归向神，行事与悔改的心相称。 21 因此犹太人在殿里拿住我，想要杀我。 22 然而我蒙神的帮助，直到今日还站得住，对着尊贵、卑贱、老幼作见证。所讲的并不外乎众先知和摩西所说将来必成的事， 23 就是基督必须受害，并且因从死里复活，要首先把光明的道传给百姓和外邦人。”

24 保罗这样分诉，非斯都大声说：“保罗，你癫狂了吧！你的学问太大，反叫你癫狂了！” 25 保罗说：“非斯都大人，我不是癫狂，我说的乃是真实明白话。 26 王也晓得这些事，所以我向王放胆直言；我深信这些事没有一件向王隐藏的，因都不是在背地里做的。 27 亚基帕王啊，你信先知吗？我知道你是信的。” 28 亚基帕对保罗说：“你想稍微一劝，便叫我做基督徒啊？[a]” 29 保罗说：“无论是少劝是多劝，我向神所求的，不但你一个人，就是今天一切听我的，都要像我一样，只是不要像我有这些锁链。”

30 于是，王和巡抚并百妮基与同坐的人都起来， 31 退到里面，彼此谈论说：“这人并没有犯什么该死、该绑的罪。” 32 亚基帕又对非斯都说：“这人若没有上告于恺撒，就可以释放了。”

Paolo si difende

26 Allora Agrippa disse a Paolo: «Avanti, ora puoi difenderti!» Paolo fece un cenno con la mano, e si difese così: 2 «Sono davvero contento, re Agrippa», cominciò, «dʼavere lʼoccasione di difendermi davanti a te da tutte le accuse che mi muovono i Giudei, 3 soprattutto perché conosci bene le usanze e le questioni religiose degli Ebrei. Perciò ti prego dʼascoltarmi con un poʼ di pazienza. 4 Tutti i Giudei conoscono bene la mia vita, che fin dai primi anni ho trascorso nel mio paese, prima a Tarso, poi a Gerusalemme. 5 Se vogliono ammetterlo, sanno che per molto tempo ho vissuto secondo i princìpi del partito più rigido della nostra religione: parlo dei Farisei. 6 Ma, dietro le loro accuse, si nasconde ben altro. La ragione per cui sʼaccaniscono contro di me è perché io spero nella promessa che Dio ha fatto ai nostri antenati. 7 Anche le dodici tribù dʼIsraele servono Dio senza stancarsi, notte e giorno, perché aspettano che si realizzi questa promessa. Per questa speranza, o re, sono accusato come un criminale dai Giudei! 8 Ma è davvero un crimine credere nella resurrezione dalla morte? Vi sembra davvero assurdo che Dio possa risuscitare i morti? 9 Io stesso, è vero, una volta credevo fosse mio dovere perseguitare ferocemente i seguaci di Gesù di Nazaret. 10 Ed è quello che ho fatto a Gerusalemme. Autorizzato dai sommi sacerdoti, ho gettato in prigione molti cristiani e, quando venivano condannati a morte, davo il mio voto favorevole. 11 Da una sinagoga allʼaltra, con le torture, li costringevo a bestemmiare Cristo. Ce lʼavevo talmente con loro che li ho perseguitati perfino nelle città straniere! 12 Proprio per questo scopo ero in viaggio verso Damasco, incaricato e autorizzato dai sommi sacerdoti, 13 quando, sarà stato circa mezzogiorno, o re, una luce dal cielo più splendente del sole sfolgorò davanti a me e ai miei compagni. 14 Cademmo a terra, ed io udii una voce che mi parlava in ebraico: “Saulo, Saulo, perché mi perseguiti? Stai soltanto facendo del male a te stesso, è duro per te scalciare contro il pungolo!” 15 “Chi sei, Signore?” chiesi allora. E il Signore rispose: “Sono Gesù, quello che tu perseguiti. 16 Ma ora alzati, perché ti sono apparso per fare di te un mio servo e testimone.

Parlerai al mondo di questʼesperienza e di tutte le altre volte in cui ti apparirò. 17 Ti proteggerò da tutti i pericoli, quando ti manderò dagli Ebrei e dai pagani, 18 per aprire loro gli occhi, perché si convertano e vivano nella luce di Dio, invece che nelle tenebre di Satana. Quelli che avranno fede in me potranno ottenere il perdono dei peccati e la parte di eredità promessa, insieme a quelli che sono santificati dal Signore”. 19 Perciò, o re Agrippa, io non ho voluto disubbidire alla visione che ho avuto dal cielo! 20 Dapprima ho predicato agli abitanti di Damasco, poi a quelli di Gerusalemme, della Giudea ed anche ai pagani. A tutti dicevo di pentirsi e convertirsi a Dio, e di dimostrare con le buone azioni la sincerità della loro conversione. 21 E fu per questo motivo che i Giudei mi hanno arrestato nel tempio ed hanno cercato di uccidermi, 22 ma Dio mi ha protetto così bene che a tuttʼoggi sono ancora vivo per raccontare queste cose a tutti, piccoli e grandi, senza aggiungere una sola parola a ciò che i profeti e Mosè avevano predetto: 23 e cioè che il Messia avrebbe sofferto e sarebbe stato il primo a resuscitare dai morti per portare la luce della speranza e della vita sia ai Giudei che ai pagani».

24 Mentre Paolo diceva queste cose in sua difesa, improvvisamente Festo esclamò: «Tu sei pazzo, Paolo! Tutti gli studi che hai fatto ti hanno dato al cervello!» 25 Ma Paolo rispose: «So benissimo quello che dico, eccellentissimo Festo. Queste cose che dico sono vere e ragionevoli. 26 Il re Agrippa conosce molto bene queste cose e gliene posso parlare francamente, perché sono sicuro che non è allʼoscuro di questi fatti, che non sono avvenuti di nascosto! 27 Re Agrippa, tu credi ai profeti? Io so che ci credi!»

28 Agrippa lo interruppe: «Poco ci manca che mi convinci a diventare cristiano!»

29 Allora Paolo rispose: «Che manchi poco o molto, voglia Dio che non soltanto tu, ma anche tutti quelli che oggi mʼascoltano diventino tali e quali a me, eccetto ovviamente che per queste catene!»

30 Allora il re, il governatore, Berenìce e tutto il loro seguito si alzarono e si ritirarono. 31 Mentre si allontanavano, dicevano fra loro: «Questʼuomo non ha fatto niente che meriti la morte o la prigione!»

32 E Agrippa disse a Festo: «Se non si fosse appellato a Cesare, poteva essere rimesso in libertà!»

26 亚基帕对保罗说：“准你为自己辩护。”于是保罗伸手示意，然后为自己辩护说： 2 “亚基帕王啊，面对犹太人对我的种种控告，我今天很荣幸可以在你面前申辩， 3 尤其是你对犹太习俗和各种争议都十分熟悉。因此，求你耐心听我说。

4 “我从小在本族和耶路撒冷为人如何，犹太人都知道。 5 他们认识我很久了，如果他们肯作证的话，他们可以证明我从小就属于犹太教中最严格的法利赛派。 6 现在我站在这里受审，是因为我盼望上帝给我们祖先的应许。 7 我们十二支派日夜虔诚地事奉上帝，盼望这应许能够实现。王啊！就是因为我有这样的盼望，才被犹太人控告。 8 上帝叫死人复活，你们为什么认为不可信呢？ 9 我自己也曾经认为应该尽一切可能反对拿撒勒人耶稣。 10 我在耶路撒冷就是这样做的。我得到祭司长的授权，把许多圣徒[a]关进监狱。他们被判死刑，我也表示赞同。 11 我多次在各会堂惩罚他们，逼他们说亵渎的话，我对他们深恶痛绝，甚至到国外的城镇去追捕、迫害他们。

19 “亚基帕王啊！我没有违背这从天上来的异象。 20 我先在大马士革，然后到耶路撒冷、犹太全境和外族人当中劝人悔改归向上帝，行事为人要与悔改的心相称。 21 就因为这些事，犹太人在圣殿中抓住我，打算杀我。 22 然而，我靠着上帝的帮助，到今天还能站在这里向所有尊卑老幼做见证。我讲的不外乎众先知和摩西说过要发生的事， 23 就是基督必须受害，并首先从死里复活，将光明带给犹太人和外族人。”

24 这时，非斯都打断保罗的申辩，大声说：“保罗，你疯了！一定是你的学问太大，使你神经错乱了！”

25 保罗说：“非斯都大人，我没有疯。我讲的话真实、合理。 26 王了解这些事，所以我才敢在王面前直言。我相信这些事没有一件瞒得过王，因为这些事并非暗地里做的。 27 亚基帕王啊，你信先知吗？我知道你信。”

28 亚基帕王对保罗说：“难道你想三言两语就说服我成为基督徒吗？”

29 保罗说：“不论话多话少，我求上帝不仅使你，也使今天在座的各位都能像我一样，只是不要像我这样带着锁链。”

30 亚基帕王、总督、百妮姬及其他在座的人都站起来， 31 走到一边商量说：“这人没有做什么该判死刑或监禁的事。” 32 亚基帕王对非斯都说：“这人要是没有向凯撒上诉，已经可以获释了。”

26 (A)Now Agrippa said to Paul, “You are permitted to speak for yourself.” Then Paul, stretching out his hand, began to make his defense:

2 “Concerning all the things of which I am accused by the Jews, I regard myself blessed, King Agrippa, that I am about to make my defense before you today; 3 [a]especially because you are an expert in all (B)customs and [b]questions among the Jews; therefore I beg you to listen to me patiently.

4 “So then, all Jews know (C)my manner of life from my youth, which from the beginning was spent among my own nation and at Jerusalem; 5 since they have known about me for a long time, if they are willing to testify, that I lived as a (D)Pharisee (E)according to the strictest (F)sect of our religion. 6 And now I am standing here being tried (G)for the hope of (H)the promise made by God to our fathers; 7 the promise (I)to which our twelve tribes hope to attain, as they earnestly serve God night and day. And for this (J)hope, O King, I am being (K)accused by Jews. 8 Why is it considered unbelievable among all of you (L)if God does raise the dead?

9 “So then, (M)I thought to myself that I had to do many things hostile to (N)the name of Jesus the Nazarene. 10 And this is [c]just what I (O)did in Jerusalem; not only did I lock up many of the [d]saints in prisons, having (P)received authority from the chief priests, but also when they were being put to death I (Q)cast my vote against them. 11 And (R)as I punished them often in all the synagogues, I tried to force them to blaspheme; and being (S)furiously enraged at them, I kept pursuing them (T)even to [e]foreign cities.

Paul Tells of His Conversion

12 “[f]While so engaged (U)as I was journeying to Damascus with the authority and commission of the chief priests, 13 at midday, O King, I saw on the way a light from heaven, [g]brighter than the sun, shining all around me and those who were journeying with me. 14 And when we had (V)all fallen to the ground, I heard a voice saying to me in the [h](W)Hebrew language, ‘Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting Me? [i]It is hard for you to kick against the goads.’ 15 And I said, ‘Who are You, Lord?’ And the Lord said, ‘I am Jesus whom you are persecuting. 16 But rise up and (X)stand on your feet; for this purpose I have appeared to you, to (Y)appoint you a (Z)servant and (AA)a witness not only to the things which you have [j]seen, but also to the things in which I will appear to you; 17 (AB)rescuing you (AC)from the Jewish people and from the Gentiles, to whom I am sending you, 18 to (AD)open their eyes so that they may turn from (AE)darkness to light and from the authority of (AF)Satan to God, that they may receive (AG)forgiveness of sins and an (AH)inheritance among those who have been sanctified by (AI)faith in Me.’

19 “So, King Agrippa, I did not prove disobedient to the heavenly vision, 20 but kept declaring both (AJ)to those of Damascus first, and also (AK)at Jerusalem and then throughout all the region of Judea, and even (AL)to the Gentiles, that they should (AM)repent and turn to God, practicing deeds (AN)appropriate to repentance. 21 For this reason some Jews (AO)seized me in the temple and were trying (AP)to put me to death. 22 Therefore, having obtained help from God to this day, I stand here (AQ)bearing witness both to small and great, stating nothing but what (AR)the Prophets and Moses said was going to take place; 23 [k](AS)that the [l]Christ was [m]to suffer, and [n]that (AT)as first of the resurrection from the dead, He was going to proclaim (AU)light both to the Jewish people and to the Gentiles.”

24 Now while [o]Paul was saying this in his defense, Festus *said in a loud voice, “Paul, you are out of your mind! [p]Great (AV)learning is driving you out of your mind.” 25 But Paul *said, “I am not out of my mind, (AW)most excellent Festus, but I utter words [q]of sober truth. 26 For the king [r](AX)knows about these matters, and I speak to him also with confidence, since I am persuaded that none of these things escape his notice; for this has not been done in a [s]corner. 27 King Agrippa, do you believe the Prophets? I know you believe.” 28 But Agrippa replied to Paul, “[t]In such short time [u]are you persuading me to become a (AY)Christian?” 29 And Paul said, “I would pray to God, that whether [v]in a short or long time, not only you, but also all who hear me this day, might become such as I am, except for these (AZ)chains.”

30 (BA)And the king stood up and the governor and Bernice, and those who were sitting with them, 31 and when they had gone aside, they began talking to one another, saying, “(BB)This man is not doing anything worthy of death or [w]imprisonment.” 32 And Agrippa said to Festus, “This man could have been (BC)set free if he had not (BD)appealed to Caesar.”
