巴拿巴和掃羅奉差遣
13 安提阿教會中，有幾位先知和教師，就是巴拿巴、名叫尼結的西面、古利奈人路求、與分封王希律一同長大的馬念，和掃羅。 2 他們事奉主，並且禁食的時候，聖靈說：“要為我把巴拿巴和掃羅分別出來，去作我呼召他們作的工。” 3 於是他們禁食禱告，為兩人按手，就派他們去了。
第一次宣教旅程
4 他們既然奉聖靈差遣，就下到西流基，從那裡坐船往塞浦路斯。 5 他們到了撒拉米，就在猶太人的各會堂裡宣講 神的道，還有約翰作他們的助手。 6 他們走遍全島，到了帕弗，遇見一個猶太人，名叫巴．耶穌，是個術士，又是個假先知。 7 他常常和省長士求．保羅在一起；省長是個聰明人，他請了巴拿巴和掃羅來，要聽聽 神的道。 8 但術士以呂馬（以呂馬就是“術士”的意思）與使徒作對，要使省長轉離真道。 9 掃羅，也就是保羅，卻被聖靈充滿，定睛看著他， 10 說：“你這充滿各樣詭詐和各樣奸惡的人，魔鬼的兒子，公義的仇敵！你歪曲了主的正路，還不停止嗎？ 11 你看，現在主的手臨到你，你要瞎了眼睛，暫時看不見陽光。”他就立刻被霧和黑暗籠罩著，周圍找人牽他的手，給他領路。 12 那時，省長看見了所發生的事，就信了，因為他驚奇主的教訓。

“以色列人和敬畏 神的人，請聽！ 17 以色列民的 神，揀選了我們的祖先；當他們在埃及地寄居的時候， 神抬舉這民，用大能（“大能”原文作“高”）的膀臂，把他們從那地領出來； 18 又在曠野容忍（“容忍”有些抄本作“養育”）他們，約有四十年之久； 19 滅了迦南地的七族之後，就把那地分給他們為業； 20 這一切歷時約四百五十年。後來 神賜給他們士師，直到撒母耳先知為止。 21 那時，他們要求立一個王， 神就把便雅憫支派中一個人，基士的兒子掃羅，賜給他們作王，共四十年之久。 22 廢去掃羅之後，又為他們興起大衛作王，並且為他作證說：‘我找到耶西的兒子大衛，他是合我心意的人，必遵行我的一切旨意。’ 23 神照著應許，已經從這人的後裔中，給以色列帶來了一位救主，就是耶穌。 24 在他來臨之前，約翰早已向以色列全民宣講悔改的洗禮。 25 約翰快要跑完他的路程的時候，說：‘你們以為我是誰？我不是基督。他是在我以後來的，我就是給他解腳上的鞋帶也不配。’
26 “弟兄們，亞伯拉罕的子孫，和你們中間敬畏 神的人哪，這救恩之道是傳給我們的。 27 住在耶路撒冷的人和他們的官長，因為不認識基督，也不明白每逢安息日所讀的先知的話，就把他定了罪，正好應驗了先知的話。 28 他們雖然找不出該死的罪狀，還是要求彼拉多殺害他。 29 他們把所記載一切關於他的事作成了，就把他從木頭上取下來，放在墳墓裡。 30 但 神卻使他從死人中復活了。 31 有許多日子，他向那些跟他一同從加利利上耶路撒冷的人顯現，現在這些人在民眾面前作了他的見證人， 32 我們報好信息給你們： 神給列祖的應許， 33 藉著耶穌的復活，向我們這些作子孫的應驗了。就如詩篇第二篇所記的：
‘你是我的兒子，
我今日生了你。’
34 至於 神使他從死人中復活，不再歸於朽壞，他曾這樣說：
‘我必把應許大衛的、神聖可靠的恩福賜給你們。’
35 所以他在另一篇說：
‘你必不容你的聖者見朽壞。’
36 “大衛在他自己的世代裡，遵行了 神的計劃，就睡了，歸回他列祖那裡，見了朽壞。 37 唯獨 神所復活的那一位，沒有見過朽壞。 38 所以弟兄們，你們當知道，赦罪之道是由這位耶穌傳給你們的。在你們靠摩西律法不能稱義的一切事上， 39 信靠他的人就得稱義了。 40 你們要小心，免得先知書上所說的臨到你們：
41 ‘傲慢的人哪！
你們要看、要驚奇、要滅亡，
因為在你們的日子，我要作一件事，
就算有人告訴你們，你們總是不信。’”
42 保羅和巴拿巴出來的時候，眾人請求他們下一個安息日再對他們講這些話。 43 散會以後，許多猶太人和歸信猶太教的虔誠人，跟從了保羅和巴拿巴。兩人對他們談話，勉勵他們要恆久住在 神的恩典中。
44 下一個安息日，幾乎全城的人都聚了來，要聽主的道。 45 猶太人看見這麼多人，就滿心嫉妒，反駁保羅所講的，並且毀謗他們。 46 保羅和巴拿巴卻放膽說：“ 神的道，先講給你們聽，是應該的。但因為你們棄絕這道，斷定自己不配得永生，所以我們現在就轉向外族人去了。 47 因為主曾這樣吩咐我們說：
‘我已立你作外族人的光，
使你把救恩帶到地極去。’”
48 外族人聽見了就歡喜，讚美主的道，凡指定得永生的都信了。 49 於是主的道傳遍那地。 50 但猶太人唆使虔誠尊貴的婦女和城內的顯要，煽動大家迫害保羅和巴拿巴，把他們驅逐出境。 51 兩人當眾跺掉腳上的塵土，往以哥念去了。 52 門徒滿有喜樂，又被聖靈充滿。

13 Now there were in the church at Antioch (A)prophets and (B)teachers, (C)Barnabas, Simeon who was called Niger,[a] Lucius of Cyrene, Manaen a lifelong friend of (D)Herod the tetrarch, and Saul. 2 While they were worshiping the Lord and fasting, (E)the Holy Spirit said, (F)“Set apart for me Barnabas and Saul (G)for the work to which I have called them.” 3 Then after fasting and (H)praying they laid their hands on them and (I)sent them off.

4 So, being sent out (J)by the Holy Spirit, they went down to Seleucia, and from there they sailed to Cyprus. 5 When they arrived at Salamis, they proclaimed the word of God (K)in the synagogues of the Jews. And they had (L)John to (M)assist them. 6 When they had gone through the whole island as far as Paphos, they came upon a certain (N)magician, (O)a Jewish false prophet named Bar-Jesus. 7 He was with (P)the proconsul, Sergius Paulus, a man of intelligence, who summoned Barnabas and Saul and sought to hear the word of God. 8 But Elymas the (Q)magician (for that is the meaning of his name) (R)opposed them, seeking to turn (S)the proconsul away from the faith. 9 But Saul, who was also called Paul, (T)filled with the Holy Spirit, looked intently at him 10 and said, “You (U)son of the devil, you enemy of all righteousness, full of all deceit and (V)villainy, will you not stop (W)making crooked (X)the straight paths of the Lord? 11 And now, behold, (Y)the hand of the Lord is upon you, and you will be blind and unable to see the sun for a time.” Immediately mist and darkness fell upon him, and he went about seeking (Z)people to lead him by the hand. 12 Then the proconsul believed, when he saw what had occurred, for he was astonished at (AA)the teaching of the Lord.

13 Now Paul and his companions set sail from Paphos and came to Perga in Pamphylia. And (AB)John left them and returned (AC)to Jerusalem, 14 but they went on from Perga and came to Antioch in Pisidia. And (AD)on the Sabbath day (AE)they went into the synagogue and sat down. 15 After (AF)the reading from (AG)the Law and the Prophets, (AH)the rulers of the synagogue sent a message to them, saying, “Brothers, if you have any (AI)word of encouragement for the people, say it.” 16 So Paul stood up, and (AJ)motioning with his hand said:
“Men of Israel and (AK)you who fear God, listen. 17 (AL)The God of this people Israel (AM)chose our fathers and (AN)made the people great (AO)during their stay in the land of Egypt, and (AP)with uplifted arm he led them out of it. 18 And for about (AQ)forty years (AR)he put up with[b] them in the wilderness. 19 And (AS)after destroying (AT)seven nations in the land of Canaan, (AU)he gave them their land as an inheritance. 20 All this took about 450 years. And after that (AV)he gave them judges until (AW)Samuel the prophet. 21 Then (AX)they asked for a king, and God gave them Saul (AY)the son of Kish, a man of the tribe of Benjamin, for forty years. 22 And (AZ)when he had removed him, (BA)he raised up David to be their king, of whom he testified and said, (BB)‘I have found in David the son of Jesse (BC)a man after my heart, (BD)who will do all my will.’ 23 (BE)Of this man's offspring God has brought to Israel (BF)a Savior, Jesus, (BG)as he promised. 24 Before his coming, (BH)John had proclaimed (BI)a baptism of repentance to all the people of Israel. 25 And as John was finishing his course, (BJ)he said, ‘What do you suppose that I am? I am not he. No, but behold, after me one is coming, the sandals of whose feet I am not worthy to untie.’
26 “Brothers, sons of the family of Abraham, and those among you (BK)who fear God, to us has been sent (BL)the message of (BM)this salvation. 27 For those who live in Jerusalem and their rulers, because (BN)they did not recognize him nor understand (BO)the utterances of the prophets, which are read every Sabbath, (BP)fulfilled them by condemning him. 28 And (BQ)though they found in him no guilt worthy of death, (BR)they asked Pilate to have him executed. 29 And when (BS)they had carried out all that was written of him, (BT)they took him down from (BU)the tree and laid him in a tomb. 30 But (BV)God raised him from the dead, 31 and for many days (BW)he appeared to those (BX)who had come up with him (BY)from Galilee to Jerusalem, (BZ)who are now (CA)his witnesses to the people. 32 And we bring you the good news (CB)that what God promised to the fathers, 33 (CC)this he has fulfilled to us their children by raising Jesus, as also it is written in the second Psalm,
(CD)“‘You are my Son,
today I have begotten you.’
34 And as for the fact that he raised him from the dead, (CE)(CF)no more to return to corruption, he has spoken in this way,
“‘I will give you (CG)the holy and sure blessings of David.’
35 Therefore he says also in another psalm,
(CH)“‘You will not let your Holy One see corruption.’
36 For David, after he had (CI)served the purpose of God in his own generation, (CJ)fell asleep and (CK)was laid with his fathers and saw corruption, 37 but he whom (CL)God raised up did not see corruption. 38 Let it be known to you therefore, brothers, (CM)that through this man (CN)forgiveness of sins is proclaimed to you, 39 and by him (CO)everyone who believes is freed[c] from everything (CP)from which you could not be freed by the law of Moses. 40 Beware, therefore, lest what is said in the Prophets should come about:
41 (CQ)“‘Look, you scoffers,
be astounded and perish;
for I am doing a work in your days,
a work that you will not believe, even if one tells it to you.’”
42 As they went out, the people begged that these things might be told them the next Sabbath. 43 And after the meeting of the synagogue broke up, many Jews and (CR)devout (CS)converts to Judaism followed Paul and Barnabas, who, as they spoke with them, urged them (CT)to continue in (CU)the grace of God.
44 The next Sabbath almost the whole city gathered to hear the word of the Lord. 45 (CV)But (CW)when the Jews[d] saw the crowds, they were filled with (CX)jealousy and began to contradict what was spoken by Paul, (CY)reviling him. 46 And Paul and Barnabas spoke out boldly, saying, “It was necessary that the word of God (CZ)be spoken first to you. (DA)Since you thrust it aside and judge yourselves (DB)unworthy of eternal life, behold, we (DC)are turning to the Gentiles. 47 (DD)For so the Lord has commanded us, saying,
(DE)“‘I have made you (DF)a light for the Gentiles,
that you may (DG)bring salvation to the ends of the earth.’”
48 And when the Gentiles heard this, they began rejoicing and (DH)glorifying the word of the Lord, and as many as were appointed to eternal life believed. 49 And the word of the Lord was spreading throughout the whole region. 50 (DI)But the Jews incited the devout (DJ)women of high standing and the leading men of the city, (DK)stirred up persecution against Paul and Barnabas, and (DL)drove them out of their district. 51 But they (DM)shook off the dust from their feet against them and went to Iconium. 52 And the disciples were filled (DN)with joy and (DO)with the Holy Spirit.

13 1 En la iglesia de Antioquía eran profetas y maestros: Bernabé, Simeón, apodado el Negro, Lucio de Cirene, Manaén, que se había criado con Herodes el tetrarca, y Saulo. 2 Mientras participaban en el culto al Señor y ayunaban, el Espíritu Santo dijo: «Apártenme ahora a Bernabé y a Saulo para el trabajo al que los he llamado».
3 Así que después de ayunar, orar e imponerles las manos, los despidieron.
En Chipre
4 Bernabé y Saulo, enviados por el Espíritu Santo, bajaron a Seleucia y de allí navegaron a Chipre. 5 Al llegar a Salamina, predicaron la palabra de Dios en las sinagogas de los judíos. Tenían también a Juan como ayudante.
6 Recorrieron toda la isla hasta Pafos. Allí se encontraron con un hechicero, un falso profeta judío llamado Barjesús, 7 que estaba con el gobernador[a] Sergio Paulo. El gobernador, hombre inteligente, mandó llamar a Bernabé y a Saulo, en un esfuerzo por escuchar la palabra de Dios. 8 Pero Elimas el hechicero, que es lo que significa su nombre, se les oponía y procuraba apartar de la fe al gobernador. 9 Entonces Saulo, o sea Pablo, lleno del Espíritu Santo, clavó los ojos en Elimas y le dijo: 10 «¡Hijo del diablo y enemigo de toda justicia, lleno de todo tipo de engaño y de fraude! ¿Nunca dejarás de torcer los caminos rectos del Señor? 11 Ahora la mano del Señor está contra ti; vas a quedarte ciego y por algún tiempo no podrás ver la luz del sol».
Al instante cayeron sobre él sombra y oscuridad, y comenzó a buscar a tientas a alguien que lo llevara de la mano. 12 Al ver lo sucedido, el gobernador creyó, maravillado de la enseñanza acerca del Señor.
En Antioquía de Pisidia
13 Pablo y sus compañeros se hicieron a la mar desde Pafos y llegaron a Perge de Panfilia. Juan se separó de ellos y regresó a Jerusalén; 14 ellos, por su parte, siguieron su viaje desde Perge hasta Antioquía de Pisidia. El sábado entraron en la sinagoga y se sentaron. 15 Al terminar la lectura de la Ley y los Profetas, los jefes de la sinagoga mandaron a decirles: «Hermanos, si tienen algún mensaje de aliento para el pueblo, hablen».
16 Pablo se puso en pie, hizo una señal con la mano y dijo: «Escúchenme, israelitas, y ustedes, los no judíos temerosos de Dios: 17 El Dios de este pueblo de Israel escogió a nuestros antepasados y engrandeció al pueblo mientras vivían como extranjeros en Egipto. Con gran poder los sacó de aquella tierra 18 y soportó su mal proceder[b] en el desierto unos cuarenta años. 19 Luego de destruir siete naciones en Canaán, dio a su pueblo la tierra de ellas en herencia. 20 Todo esto duró unos cuatrocientos cincuenta años.
»Después de esto, Dios les asignó jueces hasta los días del profeta Samuel. 21 Entonces pidieron un rey y Dios les dio a Saúl, hijo de Quis, de la tribu de Benjamín, quien gobernó por cuarenta años. 22 Tras destituir a Saúl, puso por rey a David, de quien dio este testimonio: “He encontrado en David, hijo de Isaí, un hombre conforme a mi corazón; él hará todo lo que yo quiera”.
23 »De los descendientes de este, conforme a la promesa, Dios ha traído a Israel un Salvador, que es Jesús. 24 Antes de la venida de Jesús, Juan predicó un bautismo de arrepentimiento a todo el pueblo de Israel. 25 Cuando estaba completando su carrera, Juan decía: “¿Quién suponen ustedes que soy? No soy aquel. Miren, después de mí viene uno a quien no soy digno ni siquiera de desatarle las sandalias”.
26 »Hermanos, descendientes de Abraham, y ustedes, los no judíos temerosos de Dios: a nosotros se nos ha enviado este mensaje de salvación. 27 Los habitantes de Jerusalén y sus gobernantes no reconocieron a Jesús. Por tanto, al condenarlo, cumplieron las palabras de los profetas que se leen todos los sábados. 28 Aunque no encontraron ninguna causa digna de muerte, pidieron a Pilato que lo mandara a ejecutar. 29 Después de llevar a cabo todas las cosas que estaban escritas acerca de él, lo bajaron del madero y lo sepultaron. 30 Pero Dios lo levantó de entre los muertos. 31 Durante muchos días lo vieron los que habían subido con él de Galilea a Jerusalén y ahora ellos son sus testigos ante el pueblo.
32 »Nosotros les anunciamos las buenas noticias respecto a la promesa hecha a nuestros antepasados. 33 Dios nos la ha cumplido plenamente a nosotros, los descendientes de ellos, al resucitar a Jesús. Como está escrito en el segundo salmo:
»“Tú eres mi Hijo;
hoy mismo te he engendrado”.[c]
34 Dios lo resucitó para que no volviera jamás a la corrupción. Así se cumplieron estas palabras:
»“Yo les daré las bendiciones santas y seguras prometidas a David”.
35 Por eso dice en otro pasaje:
»“No permitirás que tu santo sufra corrupción”.[d]
36 »En verdad David, después de servir a su propia generación conforme al propósito de Dios, murió, fue sepultado con sus antepasados y su cuerpo sufrió la corrupción. 37 Pero aquel a quien Dios resucitó no sufrió la corrupción de su cuerpo.
38 »Por tanto, hermanos, sepan que por medio de Jesús se les anuncia el perdón de los pecados. 39 Ustedes no pudieron ser justificados de esos pecados por la Ley de Moisés, pero todo el que cree es justificado por medio de Jesús. 40 Tengan cuidado, no sea que les suceda lo que han dicho los profetas:
41 »“¡Miren, burlones!
¡Asómbrense y desaparezcan!
Estoy por hacer en estos días una obra
que ustedes nunca creerán,
aunque alguien se la contara”».[e]
42 Al salir ellos de la sinagoga, los invitaron a que el siguiente sábado hablaran más de estas cosas. 43 Cuando se disolvió la asamblea, muchos judíos y fieles convertidos al judaísmo acompañaron a Pablo y a Bernabé, los cuales en su conversación con ellos les instaron a perseverar en la gracia de Dios.
44 El siguiente sábado casi toda la ciudad se congregó para oír la palabra del Señor. 45 Pero cuando los judíos vieron a las multitudes, se llenaron de envidia y contradecían con maldiciones lo que Pablo decía.
46 Pablo y Bernabé contestaron valientemente: «Era necesario que anunciáramos la palabra de Dios primero a ustedes. Como la rechazan y no se consideran dignos de la vida eterna, ahora vamos a dirigirnos a los que no son judíos. 47 Así nos lo ha mandado el Señor:
»“Te he puesto por luz para las naciones,
a fin de que lleves mi salvación hasta los confines de la tierra”».[f]
48 Al oír esto, los que no eran judíos se alegraron y celebraron la palabra del Señor; y creyeron todos los que estaban destinados a la vida eterna.
49 La palabra del Señor se difundía por toda la región. 50 Pero los judíos incitaron a mujeres muy distinguidas y fieles al judaísmo, también a los hombres más prominentes de la ciudad y provocaron una persecución contra Pablo y Bernabé. Por tanto, los expulsaron de la región. 51 Ellos, por su parte, se sacudieron el polvo de los pies en señal de protesta contra la ciudad y se fueron a Iconio. 52 Y los discípulos quedaron llenos de alegría y del Espíritu Santo.
