パウロの回心
9 さてパウロは、キリストの弟子たちをせん滅しようと、エルサレムの大祭司のところへやって来ました。 2 そして、ダマスコの諸会堂あての手紙を書いてくれと頼み込みました。それはダマスコのクリスチャンを、男だろうが女だろうが、見つけしだい縛り上げ、エルサレムに連行するためでした。
3 パウロがダマスコの近くまで来た時、突然、天からまばゆい光が、さっと彼を照らしました。 4 そして、地に倒れた彼の耳に、こう語りかける声が響いてきました。「パウロ、パウロ。なぜわたしを迫害するのか。」
5 パウロが、「あなたはどなたですか」と尋ねると、「わたしは、あなたが迫害しているイエスだ。 6 さあ立って、町に入り、わたしの命令を待ちなさい」という答えが返ってきました。
7 同行していた人々は驚き、口もきけずに立ちすくんでいました。彼らには、声は聞こえても、イエスの姿は見えなかったからです。 8-9 ようやくパウロは起き上がりましたが、どうしたことでしょう、目が見えません。手を引いてもらって、やっとダマスコに入り、三日間、目が見えないまま、何も飲み食いせずに過ごしました。
10 さて、ダマスコにはアナニヤというクリスチャンが住んでいました。主は幻の中で、彼に語りかけました。
「アナニヤよ。」「はい。」
11 「『まっすぐ』という名の通りに行き、ユダという人の家を探しなさい。そこにタルソ出身のパウロという人がいて、いま祈っています。 12 わたしは幻の中で、アナニヤという人が来て、彼に手を置くと、もとどおり見えるようになると知らせておいたから。」
13 アナニヤは驚いて叫びました。「主よ、パウロですって！ あの男がエルサレムのクリスチャンをどんな目に会わせているか、聞いております。 14 それに、祭司長たちから逮捕状をもらい、このダマスコのクリスチャンを一人残らず捕らえる権限を持っているという、もっぱらのうわさです。」
15 しかし、主は言われました。「さあ、行きなさい。このパウロこそ、わたしの教えをイスラエル人だけでなく、世界中の人々や王たちに伝えるために、わたしが選んだ人です。 16 彼には、わたしのために、どんなに苦しむことになるかを告げるつもりです。」
17 アナニヤは出かけ、パウロを捜し当てました。そして彼に手を置き、「兄弟パウロ。あなたはここへ来る途中、主にお会いしましたね。その主イエス様が私を遣わしました。あなたが聖霊に満たされ、また見えるようになるためです」と言いました。
18 するとたちまち、パウロの目から、うろこのようなものが落ち、目が見えるようになりました。彼は直ちにバプテスマ（洗礼）を受け、 19 食事をとると、すっかり元気を取り戻しました。
パウロはそれから数日の間、ダマスコのクリスチャンといっしょに過ごすと、 20 すぐにも会堂へ行き、「イエスは神の子である」と語り始めました。 21 そのことばを聞いて、人々は耳を疑いました。「この人は、エルサレムでイエスの弟子たちを迫害した張本人じゃないか。ここへ来たのも、クリスチャンたちをみな縛り上げ、祭司長のもとへ引いて行くためだと聞いていたが……。」
22 しかしパウロは、ますます熱心に、イエスこそほんとうのキリスト（救い主）であることを証明したので、ダマスコのユダヤ人たちは動転するばかりでした。
23 しばらくして、ユダヤ人の指導者たちは、パウロ殺害を決議しました。 24 そして、昼も夜も町の門を見張りましたが、いつしか、この陰謀はパウロの耳にも入ってしまいました。 25 そこで、パウロの話を聞いて信者になった人たちが、夜の間に彼をかごに乗せ、町囲いの城壁からつり降ろしました。
26 エルサレムに着いたパウロは、弟子たちの仲間に加わろうとしましたが、だれもパウロを仲間だとは信じられず、恐れるばかりでした。 27 しかし、バルナバは違いました。パウロを使徒たちのところへ連れて行き、一部始終を彼らに説明しました。パウロがダマスコに向かう途中で主にお会いしたこと、また、主がパウロに語られたことばや、ダマスコでパウロが、イエスの名によって力強い説教をしたことなどを。
28 それで使徒たちも、ようやくパウロを受け入れました。それからは、パウロはいつもクリスチャンと行動を共にし、主の名によって大胆に語りました。 29 また、ギリシヤ語を話すユダヤ人と意見を戦わせることもありました。ところが、彼らの中には、パウロのいのちをねらう者たちがいました。 30 それと知った信者たちは、パウロを故郷のタルソへ帰そうということになり、カイザリヤまで同行して見送りました。
31 こうして教会は、ユダヤ、ガリラヤ、サマリヤのすべてで守られ、どんどん増え広がっていきました。そして、心から主を恐れつつ、聖霊に励まされて前進し続けました。
ペテロの奇跡
32 さて、ペテロは、各地にいる信者を訪問する旅の途中、ルダの町にもやって来ました。 33 そこでアイネヤという人に出会いました。話を聞くと、八年間も中風で寝たきりだといいます。
34 ペテロは、「アイネヤよ。イエス・キリストがいやしてくださるのだ。さあ起きて、自分で床を片づけなさい」と言いました。すると、アイネヤの病気は、たちどころに治ってしまいました。 35 ルダとサロン一帯に住む人々はみな、アイネヤが元気に歩き回っている姿を見て、主イエスを信じるようになりました。
36 そのころ、ヨッパの町にタビタ〔ギリシャ語で、ドルカス〕という名の婦人が住んでいました。クリスチャンで、いつも貧しい人たちのことに心を配り、親切にしていました。 37 ところが、このドルカスが病気で死んでしまったのです。友人たちは葬式の準備をし、遺体を二階に安置しました。 38 ちょうどペテロが近くのルダにいるというので、使いを出し、ぜひヨッパまで足を伸ばしてほしいと頼みました。
39 ペテロは快く承諾しました。彼がヨッパに着くやいなや、人々は待ちかねたように、遺体が置かれている二階の部屋まで連れて行きました。そこは、生前ドルカスにめんどうを見てもらった婦人たちでいっぱいでした。みな目に涙を浮かべながら、ドルカスに作ってもらった服などを彼に見せるのです。 40 ペテロは、みんなを部屋から出し、ひざまずいて祈り始めました。それから遺体のほうを向き、「タビタ、起きなさい」と声をかけました。すると、なんということでしょう。彼女が目を開いたのです！ ペテロをじっと見、体を起こしたのです！ 41 ペテロは、いたわるように手を取って立たせ、一同を呼び入れました。あっけにとられている人々の前に、ドルカスが立っていたのです。
42 この話はまたたく間に町中に広まり、多くの人が主を信じました。 43 ペテロはしばらくヨッパにとどまり、その間、皮なめしのシモンの家に泊まっていました。

掃羅歸主
9 掃羅繼續用兇狠的話恐嚇主的門徒。他去見大祭司， 2 要取得授權書到大馬士革的各會堂搜捕信耶穌的人，無論男女，都要把他們押回耶路撒冷。
3 當他快到大馬士革的時候，突然有一道光從天上射下來，四面照著他。 4 他倒在地上，聽見有聲音對他說：「掃羅！掃羅！你為什麼迫害我？」 5 他說：「主啊，你是誰？」那聲音說：「我就是你所迫害的耶穌。 6 起來！進城去，有人會告訴你該做的事。」
7 同行的人站在那裡只聽見聲音，卻看不見人，嚇得張口結舌。 8 掃羅爬起來，睜大眼睛，卻什麼也看不見，同伴拉著他的手進了大馬士革。 9 一連三天，掃羅什麼也看不見，也不吃也不喝。
10 這時候，在大馬士革有個門徒名叫亞拿尼亞，他在異象中聽見主呼喚他的名字，就回答說：「主啊，我在這裡。」
11 主說：「起來，到直街的猶大家去見一個來自大數、名叫掃羅的人，他正在向我禱告。 12 我讓他在異象中看見一個名叫亞拿尼亞的人去他那裡，把手按在他身上，使他恢復視力。」
13 亞拿尼亞回答說：「主啊！我聽見許多人說他對耶路撒冷的信徒大加迫害。 14 他來這裡是得到祭司長的授權，要拘捕所有求告你名的人。」
15 主對亞拿尼亞說：「你放心去吧！他是我揀選的器皿，要向外族人、君王和以色列人宣揚我的名。 16 我會讓他知道他必為我的名而受許多的苦。」
17 亞拿尼亞去了，進了那家，就把手按在掃羅身上，說：「掃羅弟兄，在你來的路上向你顯現的主耶穌派我來使你重見光明、被聖靈充滿。」 18 頓時，掃羅的眼睛上有鱗片似的東西脫落，他立刻恢復了視力，便起來接受了洗禮。 19 他吃過東西之後，體力也恢復了。他和大馬士革的門徒住了幾天之後， 20 便到各會堂去宣講：「耶穌是上帝的兒子。」
21 聽的人都大吃一驚，說：「他不就是那在耶路撒冷迫害信徒的人嗎？他到這裡來不是要把大馬士革的信徒押去見祭司長嗎？」
22 但掃羅越發有能力，引經據典證明耶穌是基督，使大馬士革的猶太人驚慌失措。
掃羅逃生
23 過了一段日子，猶太人圖謀殺死掃羅。 24 他們晝夜在城門守候，伺機下手，但這陰謀被掃羅知道了。 25 他的門徒趁夜間用筐子把他從城牆上縋下去。
26 掃羅逃到耶路撒冷後，曾設法與當地的門徒聯絡，可是他們都怕他，不相信他是門徒。 27 只有巴拿巴接待他，帶他去見使徒，向他們陳述掃羅如何在路上遇見主，主如何對他說話，他又如何勇敢地在大馬士革奉耶穌的名傳道。 28 於是，掃羅就在耶路撒冷與使徒一起出入來往，奉主的名放膽傳道。 29 他常常跟那些講希臘話的猶太人辯論，於是他們打算殺掉他。 30 弟兄姊妹知道這消息後，就把掃羅帶到凱撒利亞，然後送他到大數去。
31 當時，猶太、加利利、撒瑪利亞各地的教會都很平安，得到了堅固。信徒們非常敬畏主，又得到聖靈的安慰，人數越來越多。
彼得醫治癱子
32 彼得四處奔波，來到呂大探訪那裡的信徒， 33 遇見一個已經臥床八年、名叫以尼雅的癱子。 34 彼得對他說：「以尼雅，耶穌基督已經醫好你了，起來收拾你的墊子吧！」他立刻應聲而起。 35 呂大和沙崙的居民看見他，都歸向了主。
彼得使死人復活
36 在約帕有個樂善好施的女信徒名叫戴碧達，希臘話叫多加，意思是「羚羊」。 37 當時，她患病死了。有人將她的屍體洗乾淨後，停放在樓上。 38 呂大和約帕相距不遠，門徒聽說彼得在呂大，就派兩個人趕去請他立刻來約帕。 39 彼得便隨他們一同到了那裡，有人領他上樓。眾寡婦都站在彼得周圍哭，並把多加生前縫制的內衣、外衣給他看。
40 彼得叫她們都出去，自己跪下禱告，然後轉身對死者說：「戴碧達，起來！」她便睜開了眼睛，看見彼得，就坐了起來。 41 彼得伸手扶她起來後，叫那些在外面等候的門徒和寡婦進來，把活過來的多加交給他們。 42 這事傳遍了整個約帕，許多人都信了主。 43 彼得繼續留在約帕，在當地一個名叫西門的皮革匠家住了好些日子。

9 And Saul, yet breathing out threatenings and slaughter against the disciples of the Lord, went unto the high priest,
2 And desired of him letters to Damascus to the synagogues, that if he found any of this way, whether they were men or women, he might bring them bound unto Jerusalem.
3 And as he journeyed, he came near Damascus: and suddenly there shined round about him a light from heaven:
4 And he fell to the earth, and heard a voice saying unto him, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me?
5 And he said, Who art thou, Lord? And the Lord said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest: it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks.
6 And he trembling and astonished said, Lord, what wilt thou have me to do? And the Lord said unto him, Arise, and go into the city, and it shall be told thee what thou must do.
7 And the men which journeyed with him stood speechless, hearing a voice, but seeing no man.
8 And Saul arose from the earth; and when his eyes were opened, he saw no man: but they led him by the hand, and brought him into Damascus.
9 And he was three days without sight, and neither did eat nor drink.
10 And there was a certain disciple at Damascus, named Ananias; and to him said the Lord in a vision, Ananias. And he said, Behold, I am here, Lord.
11 And the Lord said unto him, Arise, and go into the street which is called Straight, and enquire in the house of Judas for one called Saul, of Tarsus: for, behold, he prayeth,
12 And hath seen in a vision a man named Ananias coming in, and putting his hand on him, that he might receive his sight.
13 Then Ananias answered, Lord, I have heard by many of this man, how much evil he hath done to thy saints at Jerusalem:
14 And here he hath authority from the chief priests to bind all that call on thy name.
15 But the Lord said unto him, Go thy way: for he is a chosen vessel unto me, to bear my name before the Gentiles, and kings, and the children of Israel:
16 For I will shew him how great things he must suffer for my name's sake.
17 And Ananias went his way, and entered into the house; and putting his hands on him said, Brother Saul, the Lord, even Jesus, that appeared unto thee in the way as thou camest, hath sent me, that thou mightest receive thy sight, and be filled with the Holy Ghost.
18 And immediately there fell from his eyes as it had been scales: and he received sight forthwith, and arose, and was baptized.
19 And when he had received meat, he was strengthened. Then was Saul certain days with the disciples which were at Damascus.
20 And straightway he preached Christ in the synagogues, that he is the Son of God.
21 But all that heard him were amazed, and said; Is not this he that destroyed them which called on this name in Jerusalem, and came hither for that intent, that he might bring them bound unto the chief priests?
22 But Saul increased the more in strength, and confounded the Jews which dwelt at Damascus, proving that this is very Christ.
23 And after that many days were fulfilled, the Jews took counsel to kill him:
24 But their laying await was known of Saul. And they watched the gates day and night to kill him.
25 Then the disciples took him by night, and let him down by the wall in a basket.
26 And when Saul was come to Jerusalem, he assayed to join himself to the disciples: but they were all afraid of him, and believed not that he was a disciple.
27 But Barnabas took him, and brought him to the apostles, and declared unto them how he had seen the Lord in the way, and that he had spoken to him, and how he had preached boldly at Damascus in the name of Jesus.
28 And he was with them coming in and going out at Jerusalem.
29 And he spake boldly in the name of the Lord Jesus, and disputed against the Grecians: but they went about to slay him.
30 Which when the brethren knew, they brought him down to Caesarea, and sent him forth to Tarsus.
31 Then had the churches rest throughout all Judaea and Galilee and Samaria, and were edified; and walking in the fear of the Lord, and in the comfort of the Holy Ghost, were multiplied.
32 And it came to pass, as Peter passed throughout all quarters, he came down also to the saints which dwelt at Lydda.
33 And there he found a certain man named Aeneas, which had kept his bed eight years, and was sick of the palsy.
34 And Peter said unto him, Aeneas, Jesus Christ maketh thee whole: arise, and make thy bed. And he arose immediately.
35 And all that dwelt at Lydda and Saron saw him, and turned to the Lord.
36 Now there was at Joppa a certain disciple named Tabitha, which by interpretation is called Dorcas: this woman was full of good works and almsdeeds which she did.
37 And it came to pass in those days, that she was sick, and died: whom when they had washed, they laid her in an upper chamber.
38 And forasmuch as Lydda was nigh to Joppa, and the disciples had heard that Peter was there, they sent unto him two men, desiring him that he would not delay to come to them.
39 Then Peter arose and went with them. When he was come, they brought him into the upper chamber: and all the widows stood by him weeping, and shewing the coats and garments which Dorcas made, while she was with them.
40 But Peter put them all forth, and kneeled down, and prayed; and turning him to the body said, Tabitha, arise. And she opened her eyes: and when she saw Peter, she sat up.
41 And he gave her his hand, and lifted her up, and when he had called the saints and widows, presented her alive.
42 And it was known throughout all Joppa; and many believed in the Lord.
43 And it came to pass, that he tarried many days in Joppa with one Simon a tanner.
