亚拿尼亚和撒非拉的鉴戒
5 有一个人名叫亚拿尼亚，同他妻子撒非拉，把田产卖了。 2 他私底下把钱留了一部分，妻子也知道这件事。他把其余的一部分带来，放在使徒的脚前。 3 彼得说：“亚拿尼亚，为甚么撒但充满了你的心，使你欺骗圣灵，私底下把卖地的钱留了一部分呢？ 4 田地还没有卖，不是你自己的吗？既然卖了，所得的钱不是由你作主吗？你为甚么存心这样作呢？你这不是欺骗人，而是欺骗 神。” 5 亚拿尼亚一听见这话，就仆倒断了气。所有听见的人都十分害怕。 6 有几个青年人来把他包好，抬出去埋了。
7 大约三小时之后，亚拿尼亚的妻子进来，还不知道发生了甚么事。 8 彼得问她：“你告诉我，你们卖田地的钱，就是这么多吗？”她说：“是的，就是这么多。” 9 彼得说：“你们为甚么串同试探主的灵呢？你看，埋你丈夫的人的脚，已经到了门口，他们也要把你抬出去。” 10 她立刻就仆倒在彼得脚前，断了气。那些青年人进来，发现她死了，把她也抬出去，埋在她丈夫旁边。 11 全体会众和所有听见这事的人，都很害怕。
使徒行神迹奇事
12 主借着使徒的手，在民间行了许多神迹奇事。他们都同心聚集在所罗门廊下， 13 其余的人，没有一个敢接近他们，可是民众都很敬重他们。 14 信主的男男女女越来越多， 15 甚至有人把病人抬到街上，放在小床和褥子上，好让彼得经过时，至少他的身影可以落在一些人身上。 16 耶路撒冷周围城市的人，也带着病人和受污灵缠扰的，蜂拥而来，结果病人全都医好了。
使徒受迫害
17 大祭司和他的同党撒都该人都起来，满心忌恨， 18 于是下手拿住使徒，把他们押在公共拘留所里。 19 夜间有一位天使，打开监门，把他们领出来，说： 20 “你们去，站在殿里，把一切有关这生命的话，都讲给众民听。” 21 使徒听完了，就在黎明的时候，进到殿里去教导。大祭司和他的同党来到了，就召集了公议会和以色列人的众长老，派人到监牢去带使徒出来。 22 差役到了监里，找不到他们，回来报告说： 23 “我们发现监门紧闭，狱卒也守在门外；等到开了门，里面连一个人也找不到。” 24 圣殿的守卫长和祭司长听了这些话，觉得很困惑，不知道这件事将来会怎样。 25 忽然有人来报告说：“你们押在监里的那些人，正站在殿里教导众民呢！” 26 于是守卫长和差役去带使徒来，不过没有用暴力，因为怕众民用石头打他们。
27 既然带来了，就叫他们站在公议会前。大祭司问他们： 28 “我们严厉地吩咐过你们，不准再奉这名教导。看，你们却把你们的道理传遍了耶路撒冷，想要把流这人的血的责任推到我们身上。” 29 彼得和众使徒回答：“服从 神过于服从人，是应当的。 30 你们挂在木头上亲手杀害的耶稣，我们祖先的 神已经使他复活了。 31 神把他高举在自己的右边，作元首作救主，把悔改的心赐给了以色列人，使他们罪得赦免。 32 我们为这些事作证， 神赐给顺从的人的圣灵也为这些事作证。”
33 公议会的人听了，非常恼怒，就想要杀他们。 34 但有一个法利赛人，名叫迦玛列，是民众所尊敬的律法教师。他在公议会中站起来，吩咐人把使徒暂时带出去， 35 然后对大家说：“以色列人哪，你们应当小心处理这些人！ 36 从前有个丢大，自命不凡，附从他的人约有四百。他一被杀，跟从他的人尽都星散，一败涂地。 37 这人之后，在户口登记的时候，又有一个加利利人犹大，拉拢人们来跟从他。后来他也丧命，跟从他的人也就烟消云散了。 38 至于目前的事，我劝你们不要管这些人，由他们吧！因为这计划或这行动，如果是出于人意，终必失败； 39 如果是出于 神，你们就不能破坏他们，恐怕你们是与 神作对了。”他们接受了他的劝告， 40 就传使徒进来，鞭打一顿，禁止他们奉耶稣的名传讲，就把他们释放了。 41 使徒欢欢喜喜从公议会里出来，因为他们算是配得为主的名受辱。 42 他们天天在殿里并在各人的家中，不断地教导，传讲耶稣是基督。

5 But a certain man named Ananias, with Sapphira his wife, sold a possession,
2 And kept back part of the price, his wife also being privy to it, and brought a certain part, and laid it at the apostles' feet.
3 But Peter said, Ananias, why hath Satan filled thine heart to lie to the Holy Ghost, and to keep back part of the price of the land?
4 Whiles it remained, was it not thine own? and after it was sold, was it not in thine own power? why hast thou conceived this thing in thine heart? thou hast not lied unto men, but unto God.
5 And Ananias hearing these words fell down, and gave up the ghost: and great fear came on all them that heard these things.
6 And the young men arose, wound him up, and carried him out, and buried him.
7 And it was about the space of three hours after, when his wife, not knowing what was done, came in.
8 And Peter answered unto her, Tell me whether ye sold the land for so much? And she said, Yea, for so much.
9 Then Peter said unto her, How is it that ye have agreed together to tempt the Spirit of the Lord? behold, the feet of them which have buried thy husband are at the door, and shall carry thee out.
10 Then fell she down straightway at his feet, and yielded up the ghost: and the young men came in, and found her dead, and, carrying her forth, buried her by her husband.
11 And great fear came upon all the church, and upon as many as heard these things.
12 And by the hands of the apostles were many signs and wonders wrought among the people; (and they were all with one accord in Solomon's porch.
13 And of the rest durst no man join himself to them: but the people magnified them.
14 And believers were the more added to the Lord, multitudes both of men and women.)
15 Insomuch that they brought forth the sick into the streets, and laid them on beds and couches, that at the least the shadow of Peter passing by might overshadow some of them.
16 There came also a multitude out of the cities round about unto Jerusalem, bringing sick folks, and them which were vexed with unclean spirits: and they were healed every one.
17 Then the high priest rose up, and all they that were with him, (which is the sect of the Sadducees,) and were filled with indignation,
18 And laid their hands on the apostles, and put them in the common prison.
19 But the angel of the Lord by night opened the prison doors, and brought them forth, and said,
20 Go, stand and speak in the temple to the people all the words of this life.
21 And when they heard that, they entered into the temple early in the morning, and taught. But the high priest came, and they that were with him, and called the council together, and all the senate of the children of Israel, and sent to the prison to have them brought.
22 But when the officers came, and found them not in the prison, they returned and told,
23 Saying, The prison truly found we shut with all safety, and the keepers standing without before the doors: but when we had opened, we found no man within.
24 Now when the high priest and the captain of the temple and the chief priests heard these things, they doubted of them whereunto this would grow.
25 Then came one and told them, saying, Behold, the men whom ye put in prison are standing in the temple, and teaching the people.
26 Then went the captain with the officers, and brought them without violence: for they feared the people, lest they should have been stoned.
27 And when they had brought them, they set them before the council: and the high priest asked them,
28 Saying, Did not we straitly command you that ye should not teach in this name? and, behold, ye have filled Jerusalem with your doctrine, and intend to bring this man's blood upon us.
29 Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men.
30 The God of our fathers raised up Jesus, whom ye slew and hanged on a tree.
31 Him hath God exalted with his right hand to be a Prince and a Saviour, for to give repentance to Israel, and forgiveness of sins.
32 And we are his witnesses of these things; and so is also the Holy Ghost, whom God hath given to them that obey him.
33 When they heard that, they were cut to the heart, and took counsel to slay them.
34 Then stood there up one in the council, a Pharisee, named Gamaliel, a doctor of the law, had in reputation among all the people, and commanded to put the apostles forth a little space;
35 And said unto them, Ye men of Israel, take heed to yourselves what ye intend to do as touching these men.
36 For before these days rose up Theudas, boasting himself to be somebody; to whom a number of men, about four hundred, joined themselves: who was slain; and all, as many as obeyed him, were scattered, and brought to nought.
37 After this man rose up Judas of Galilee in the days of the taxing, and drew away much people after him: he also perished; and all, even as many as obeyed him, were dispersed.
38 And now I say unto you, Refrain from these men, and let them alone: for if this counsel or this work be of men, it will come to nought:
39 But if it be of God, ye cannot overthrow it; lest haply ye be found even to fight against God.
40 And to him they agreed: and when they had called the apostles, and beaten them, they commanded that they should not speak in the name of Jesus, and let them go.
41 And they departed from the presence of the council, rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer shame for his name.
42 And daily in the temple, and in every house, they ceased not to teach and preach Jesus Christ.

5 A pewien człowiek, imieniem Ananiasz, ze swoją żoną Safirą, sprzedał swą posiadłość;
2 I za wiedzą swojej żony odłożył sobie część pieniędzy, a pewną część przyniósł i złożył u stóp apostołów.
3 Lecz Piotr powiedział: Ananiaszu, dlaczego szatan tak napełnił twoje serce, abyś okłamał Ducha Świętego i odłożył sobie część pieniędzy za ziemię?
4 Czy to, co miałeś, nie było twoje? A to, co otrzymałeś za sprzedaż, czy nie pozostawało w twojej mocy? Dlaczego dopuściłeś to do swego serca? Nie okłamałeś ludzi, lecz Boga.
5 Ananiasz zaś, usłyszawszy te słowa, padł nieżywy. I wielki strach ogarnął wszystkich, którzy to słyszeli.
6 Młodsi wstali, owinęli go, wynieśli i pogrzebali.
7 A po około trzech godzinach weszła także jego żona, nie wiedząc, co się stało.
8 I zapytał ją Piotr: Powiedz mi, czy za tyle sprzedaliście ziemię? A ona odpowiedziała: Tak, za tyle.
9 Wtedy Piotr powiedział do niej: Dlaczego się ze sobą zmówiliście, aby wystawić na próbę Ducha Pańskiego? Oto są przed drzwiami ci, którzy pogrzebali twego męża, i ciebie wyniosą.
10 I natychmiast padła nieżywa u jego stóp. A gdy młodzieńcy weszli, znaleźli ją martwą. Wynieśli ją więc i pogrzebali obok męża.
11 I wielki strach ogarnął cały kościół i wszystkich, którzy to słyszeli.
12 A przez ręce apostołów działo się wiele znaków i cudów wśród ludu. (I byli wszyscy jednomyślnie w przedsionku Salomona.
13 I z pozostałych nikt nie śmiał się do nich przyłączyć, ale ludzie bardzo ich wychwalali.
14 Przybywało też Panu mnóstwo wierzących, mężczyzn i kobiet).
15 Tak, że nawet na ulice wynoszono chorych i kładziono ich na noszach i posłaniach, aby przynajmniej cień przechodzącego Piotra padł na niektórych z nich.
16 Schodziło się też z okolicznych miast do Jerozolimy mnóstwo ludzi, przynosząc chorych i dręczonych przez duchy nieczyste, a wszyscy zostali uzdrowieni.
17 Wtedy najwyższy kapłan i wszyscy, którzy z nim byli, należący do stronnictwa saduceuszy, pełni zazdrości, powstali;
18 I schwytali apostołów, których wtrącili do publicznego więzienia.
19 Lecz anioł Pana w nocy otworzył drzwi więzienia i wyprowadziwszy ich, powiedział:
20 Idźcie i wystąpiwszy, mówcie do ludzi w świątyni wszystkie słowa tego życia.
21 Kiedy to usłyszeli, weszli o świcie do świątyni i nauczali. Tymczasem najwyższy kapłan i ci, którzy z nim byli, przyszli, zwołali Radę oraz wszystkich starszych spośród synów Izraela i posłali do więzienia, aby ich przyprowadzono.
22 Lecz gdy słudzy przyszli i nie znaleźli ich w więzieniu, wrócili i oznajmili:
23 Wprawdzie zastaliśmy więzienie starannie zamknięte, a strażników stojących na zewnątrz, przed drzwiami, po otwarciu jednak nie znaleźliśmy w nim nikogo.
24 A gdy najwyższy kapłan i dowódca straży świątynnej oraz naczelni kapłani usłyszeli te słowa, zastanawiali się, co z tego będzie.
25 Wówczas nadszedł ktoś i oznajmił im: Ludzie, których wtrąciliście do więzienia, stoją w świątyni i nauczają lud.
26 Wtedy dowódca straży poszedł ze sługami i przyprowadził ich bez użycia siły. Bali się bowiem ludu, żeby ich nie ukamienowali.
27 Gdy ich przyprowadzili, postawili ich przed Radą. I zapytał ich najwyższy kapłan:
28 Czy nie zakazaliśmy wam surowo, żebyście w tym imieniu nie nauczali? A oto napełniliście Jerozolimę waszą nauką i chcecie na nas ściągnąć krew tego człowieka.
29 Wtedy Piotr i apostołowie odpowiedzieli: Bardziej trzeba słuchać Boga niż ludzi.
30 Bóg naszych ojców wskrzesił Jezusa, którego wy zabiliście, zawiesiwszy na drzewie.
31 Tego Bóg wywyższył swoją prawicą, aby był władcą i zbawicielem, aby ludowi Izraela dać pokutę i przebaczenie grzechów.
32 A my jesteśmy jego świadkami w tym, a także Duch Święty, którego Bóg dał tym, którzy są mu posłuszni.
33 A oni, słysząc to, wpadli w gniew i naradzali się nad tym, jakby ich zabić.
34 Wtedy pewien faryzeusz, imieniem Gamaliel, nauczyciel prawa, szanowany przez wszystkich ludzi, powstał na Radzie i nakazał, aby na chwilę wyprowadzono apostołów;

37 Po nim w dniach spisu wystąpił Judasz Galilejczyk i pociągnął za sobą wielu ludzi. Lecz i on zginął, a wszyscy jego zwolennicy rozproszyli się.
38 Dlatego teraz mówię wam: Odstąpcie od tych ludzi i zostawcie ich. Jeśli bowiem ten zamysł czy ta sprawa pochodzi od ludzi, obróci się wniwecz;
39 Ale jeśli pochodzi od Boga, nie będziecie mogli tego zniszczyć, aby się czasem nie okazało, że walczycie z Bogiem.
40 I posłuchali go. A przywoławszy apostołów, ubiczowali ich i zabronili im mówić w imię Jezusa, a potem ich wypuścili.
41 A oni odchodzili sprzed Rady, ciesząc się, że stali się godni znosić zniewagę dla imienia Jezusa.
42 Nie przestawali też codziennie w świątyni i po domach nauczać i głosić Jezusa Chrystusa.
