复见异象

伯沙撒王在位第三年,有异象现于我但以理,是在先前所见的异象之后。 我见了异象的时候,我以为在以拦书珊[a]中,我见异象又如在乌莱河边。

见公绵羊

我举目观看,见有双角的公绵羊站在河边,两角都高,这角高过那角,更高的是后长的。 我见那公绵羊往西、往北、往南抵触,兽在它面前都站立不住,也没有能救护脱离它手的。但它任意而行,自高自大。

见公山羊

我正思想的时候,见有一只公山羊从西而来,遍行全地,脚不沾尘,这山羊两眼当中有一非常的角。 它往我所看见站在河边,有双角的公绵羊那里去,大发愤怒,向它直闯。 我见公山羊就近公绵羊,向它发烈怒,抵触它,折断它的两角,绵羊在它面前站立不住。它将绵羊触倒在地,用脚践踏,没有能救绵羊脱离它手的。 这山羊极其自高自大,正强盛的时候,那大角折断了,又在角根上向天的四方[b]长出四个非常的角来。

四角之中有一角长出一个小角,向南、向东、向荣美之地,渐渐成为强大。 10 它渐渐强大,高及天象,将些天象和星宿抛落在地,用脚践踏。 11 并且它自高自大,以为高及天象之君;除掉常献给君的燔祭,毁坏君的圣所。 12 因罪过的缘故,有军旅和常献的燔祭交付它。它将真理抛在地上,任意而行,无不顺利。 13 我听见有一位圣者说话,又有一位圣者问那说话的圣者说:“这除掉常献的燔祭和施行毁坏的罪过,将圣所与军旅[c]践踏的异象,要到几时才应验呢?” 14 他对我说:“到二千三百日,圣所就必洁净。”

加百列为释异象之义

15 但以理见了这异象,愿意明白其中的意思,忽有一位形状像人的站在我面前。 16 我又听见乌莱河两岸中有人声呼叫说:“加百列啊,要使此人明白这异象。” 17 他便来到我所站的地方。他一来,我就惊慌俯伏在地。他对我说:“人子啊,你要明白,因为这是关乎末后的异象。” 18 他与我说话的时候,我面伏在地沉睡。他就摸我,扶我站起来, 19 说:“我要指示你恼怒临完必有的事,因为这是关乎末后的定期。 20 你所看见双角的公绵羊,就是玛代波斯王。 21 那公山羊就是希腊[d]王,两眼当中的大角就是头一王。 22 至于那折断了的角,在其根上又长出四角,这四角就是四国,必从这国里兴起来,只是权势都不及他。 23 这四国末时,犯法的人罪恶满盈,必有一王兴起,面貌凶恶,能用双关的诈语。 24 他的权柄必大,却不是因自己的能力。他必行非常的毁灭,事情顺利,任意而行,又必毁灭有能力的和圣民。 25 他用权术成就手中的诡计,心里自高自大,在人坦然无备的时候,毁灭多人。又要站起来攻击万君之君,至终却非因人手而灭亡。 26 所说二千三百日的异象是真的,但你要将这异象封住,因为关乎后来许多的日子。” 27 于是我但以理昏迷不醒,病了数日,然后起来办理王的事务。我因这异象惊奇,却无人能明白其中的意思。

Daniel’s Vision of a Ram and a Goat

In the third year of King Belshazzar’s(A) reign, I, Daniel, had a vision,(B) after the one that had already appeared to me. In my vision I saw myself in the citadel of Susa(C) in the province of Elam;(D) in the vision I was beside the Ulai Canal. I looked up,(E) and there before me was a ram(F) with two horns, standing beside the canal, and the horns were long. One of the horns was longer than the other but grew up later. I watched the ram as it charged toward the west and the north and the south. No animal could stand against it, and none could rescue from its power.(G) It did as it pleased(H) and became great.

As I was thinking about this, suddenly a goat with a prominent horn between its eyes came from the west, crossing the whole earth without touching the ground. It came toward the two-horned ram I had seen standing beside the canal and charged at it in great rage. I saw it attack the ram furiously, striking the ram and shattering its two horns. The ram was powerless to stand against it; the goat knocked it to the ground and trampled on it,(I) and none could rescue the ram from its power.(J) The goat became very great, but at the height of its power the large horn was broken off,(K) and in its place four prominent horns grew up toward the four winds of heaven.(L)

Out of one of them came another horn, which started small(M) but grew in power to the south and to the east and toward the Beautiful Land.(N) 10 It grew until it reached(O) the host of the heavens, and it threw some of the starry host down to the earth(P) and trampled(Q) on them. 11 It set itself up to be as great as the commander(R) of the army of the Lord;(S) it took away the daily sacrifice(T) from the Lord, and his sanctuary was thrown down.(U) 12 Because of rebellion, the Lord’s people[a] and the daily sacrifice were given over to it. It prospered in everything it did, and truth was thrown to the ground.(V)

13 Then I heard a holy one(W) speaking, and another holy one said to him, “How long will it take for the vision to be fulfilled(X)—the vision concerning the daily sacrifice, the rebellion that causes desolation, the surrender of the sanctuary and the trampling underfoot(Y) of the Lord’s people?”

14 He said to me, “It will take 2,300 evenings and mornings; then the sanctuary will be reconsecrated.”(Z)

The Interpretation of the Vision

15 While I, Daniel, was watching the vision(AA) and trying to understand it, there before me stood one who looked like a man.(AB) 16 And I heard a man’s voice from the Ulai(AC) calling, “Gabriel,(AD) tell this man the meaning of the vision.”(AE)

17 As he came near the place where I was standing, I was terrified and fell prostrate.(AF) “Son of man,”[b] he said to me, “understand that the vision concerns the time of the end.”(AG)

18 While he was speaking to me, I was in a deep sleep, with my face to the ground.(AH) Then he touched me and raised me to my feet.(AI)

19 He said: “I am going to tell you what will happen later in the time of wrath,(AJ) because the vision concerns the appointed time(AK) of the end.[c](AL) 20 The two-horned ram that you saw represents the kings of Media and Persia.(AM) 21 The shaggy goat is the king of Greece,(AN) and the large horn between its eyes is the first king.(AO) 22 The four horns that replaced the one that was broken off represent four kingdoms that will emerge from his nation but will not have the same power.

23 “In the latter part of their reign, when rebels have become completely wicked, a fierce-looking king, a master of intrigue, will arise. 24 He will become very strong, but not by his own power. He will cause astounding devastation and will succeed in whatever he does. He will destroy those who are mighty, the holy people.(AP) 25 He will cause deceit(AQ) to prosper, and he will consider himself superior. When they feel secure, he will destroy many and take his stand against the Prince of princes.(AR) Yet he will be destroyed, but not by human power.(AS)

26 “The vision of the evenings and mornings that has been given you is true,(AT) but seal(AU) up the vision, for it concerns the distant future.”(AV)

27 I, Daniel, was worn out. I lay exhausted(AW) for several days. Then I got up and went about the king’s business.(AX) I was appalled(AY) by the vision; it was beyond understanding.

In the third year of the reign of king Belshazzar a vision appeared unto me, even unto me Daniel, after that which appeared unto me at the first.

And I saw in a vision; and it came to pass, when I saw, that I was at Shushan in the palace, which is in the province of Elam; and I saw in a vision, and I was by the river of Ulai.

Then I lifted up mine eyes, and saw, and, behold, there stood before the river a ram which had two horns: and the two horns were high; but one was higher than the other, and the higher came up last.

I saw the ram pushing westward, and northward, and southward; so that no beasts might stand before him, neither was there any that could deliver out of his hand; but he did according to his will, and became great.

And as I was considering, behold, an he goat came from the west on the face of the whole earth, and touched not the ground: and the goat had a notable horn between his eyes.

And he came to the ram that had two horns, which I had seen standing before the river, and ran unto him in the fury of his power.

And I saw him come close unto the ram, and he was moved with choler against him, and smote the ram, and brake his two horns: and there was no power in the ram to stand before him, but he cast him down to the ground, and stamped upon him: and there was none that could deliver the ram out of his hand.

Therefore the he goat waxed very great: and when he was strong, the great horn was broken; and for it came up four notable ones toward the four winds of heaven.

And out of one of them came forth a little horn, which waxed exceeding great, toward the south, and toward the east, and toward the pleasant land.

10 And it waxed great, even to the host of heaven; and it cast down some of the host and of the stars to the ground, and stamped upon them.

11 Yea, he magnified himself even to the prince of the host, and by him the daily sacrifice was taken away, and the place of the sanctuary was cast down.

12 And an host was given him against the daily sacrifice by reason of transgression, and it cast down the truth to the ground; and it practised, and prospered.

13 Then I heard one saint speaking, and another saint said unto that certain saint which spake, How long shall be the vision concerning the daily sacrifice, and the transgression of desolation, to give both the sanctuary and the host to be trodden under foot?

14 And he said unto me, Unto two thousand and three hundred days; then shall the sanctuary be cleansed.

15 And it came to pass, when I, even I Daniel, had seen the vision, and sought for the meaning, then, behold, there stood before me as the appearance of a man.

16 And I heard a man's voice between the banks of Ulai, which called, and said, Gabriel, make this man to understand the vision.

17 So he came near where I stood: and when he came, I was afraid, and fell upon my face: but he said unto me, Understand, O son of man: for at the time of the end shall be the vision.

18 Now as he was speaking with me, I was in a deep sleep on my face toward the ground: but he touched me, and set me upright.

19 And he said, Behold, I will make thee know what shall be in the last end of the indignation: for at the time appointed the end shall be.

20 The ram which thou sawest having two horns are the kings of Media and Persia.

21 And the rough goat is the king of Grecia: and the great horn that is between his eyes is the first king.

22 Now that being broken, whereas four stood up for it, four kingdoms shall stand up out of the nation, but not in his power.

23 And in the latter time of their kingdom, when the transgressors are come to the full, a king of fierce countenance, and understanding dark sentences, shall stand up.

24 And his power shall be mighty, but not by his own power: and he shall destroy wonderfully, and shall prosper, and practise, and shall destroy the mighty and the holy people.

25 And through his policy also he shall cause craft to prosper in his hand; and he shall magnify himself in his heart, and by peace shall destroy many: he shall also stand up against the Prince of princes; but he shall be broken without hand.

26 And the vision of the evening and the morning which was told is true: wherefore shut thou up the vision; for it shall be for many days.

27 And I Daniel fainted, and was sick certain days; afterward I rose up, and did the king's business; and I was astonished at the vision, but none understood it.

Visión del carnero y del macho cabrío

En el año tercero del reinado del rey Belsasar me apareció una visión a mí, Daniel, después de aquella que me había aparecido antes. Vi en visión; y cuando la vi, yo estaba en Susa, que es la capital del reino en la provincia de Elam; vi, pues, en visión, estando junto al río Ulai. Alcé los ojos y miré, y he aquí un carnero que estaba delante del río, y tenía dos cuernos; y aunque los cuernos eran altos, uno era más alto que el otro; y el más alto creció después. Vi que el carnero hería con los cuernos al poniente, al norte y al sur, y que ninguna bestia podía parar delante de él, ni había quien escapase de su poder; y hacía conforme a su voluntad, y se engrandecía.

Mientras yo consideraba esto, he aquí un macho cabrío venía del lado del poniente sobre la faz de toda la tierra, sin tocar tierra; y aquel macho cabrío tenía un cuerno notable entre sus ojos. Y vino hasta el carnero de dos cuernos, que yo había visto en la ribera del río, y corrió contra él con la furia de su fuerza. Y lo vi que llegó junto al carnero, y se levantó contra él y lo hirió, y le quebró sus dos cuernos, y el carnero no tenía fuerzas para pararse delante de él; lo derribó, por tanto, en tierra, y lo pisoteó, y no hubo quien librase al carnero de su poder. Y el macho cabrío se engrandeció sobremanera; pero estando en su mayor fuerza, aquel gran cuerno fue quebrado, y en su lugar salieron otros cuatro cuernos notables hacia los cuatro vientos del cielo.

Y de uno de ellos salió un cuerno pequeño, que creció mucho al sur, y al oriente, y hacia la tierra gloriosa. 10 Y se engrandeció hasta el ejército del cielo; y parte del ejército y de las estrellas echó por tierra,(A) y las pisoteó. 11 Aun se engrandeció contra el príncipe de los ejércitos, y por él fue quitado el continuo sacrificio, y el lugar de su santuario fue echado por tierra. 12 Y a causa de la prevaricación le fue entregado el ejército junto con el continuo sacrificio; y echó por tierra la verdad, e hizo cuanto quiso, y prosperó. 13 Entonces oí a un santo que hablaba; y otro de los santos preguntó a aquel que hablaba: ¿Hasta cuándo durará la visión del continuo sacrificio, y la prevaricación asoladora entregando el santuario y el ejército para ser pisoteados? 14 Y él dijo: Hasta dos mil trescientas tardes y mañanas; luego el santuario será purificado.

15 Y aconteció que mientras yo Daniel consideraba la visión y procuraba comprenderla, he aquí se puso delante de mí uno con apariencia de hombre. 16 Y oí una voz de hombre entre las riberas del Ulai, que gritó y dijo: Gabriel,(B) enseña a este la visión. 17 Vino luego cerca de donde yo estaba; y con su venida me asombré, y me postré sobre mi rostro. Pero él me dijo: Entiende, hijo de hombre, porque la visión es para el tiempo del fin.

18 Mientras él hablaba conmigo, caí dormido en tierra sobre mi rostro; y él me tocó, y me hizo estar en pie. 19 Y dijo: He aquí yo te enseñaré lo que ha de venir al fin de la ira; porque eso es para el tiempo del fin. 20 En cuanto al carnero que viste, que tenía dos cuernos, estos son los reyes de Media y de Persia. 21 El macho cabrío es el rey de Grecia, y el cuerno grande que tenía entre sus ojos es el rey primero. 22 Y en cuanto al cuerno que fue quebrado, y sucedieron cuatro en su lugar, significa que cuatro reinos se levantarán de esa nación, aunque no con la fuerza de él. 23 Y al fin del reinado de estos, cuando los transgresores lleguen al colmo, se levantará un rey altivo de rostro y entendido en enigmas. 24 Y su poder se fortalecerá, mas no con fuerza propia; y causará grandes ruinas, y prosperará, y hará arbitrariamente, y destruirá a los fuertes y al pueblo de los santos. 25 Con su sagacidad hará prosperar el engaño en su mano; y en su corazón se engrandecerá, y sin aviso destruirá a muchos; y se levantará contra el Príncipe de los príncipes, pero será quebrantado, aunque no por mano humana. 26 La visión de las tardes y mañanas que se ha referido es verdadera; y tú guarda la visión, porque es para muchos días.

27 Y yo Daniel quedé quebrantado, y estuve enfermo algunos días, y cuando convalecí, atendí los negocios del rey; pero estaba espantado a causa de la visión, y no la entendía.

A vision of a battle between a ram and a goat: 20 The understanding of the vision.

In the third year of the reign of king Belshazzar, a vision appeared unto me, even unto me Daniel, [a]after that which appeared unto me at the first.

Therefore the goat waxed exceeding great, and when he was at the strongest, his great [i]horn was broken: and for it came up four that [j]appeared toward the four winds of the heaven.

And out of one of them came forth a [k]little horn, which waxed very great toward the [l]South, and toward the [m]East, and toward the [n]pleasant land.

10 Yea, it grew up unto the [o]host of heaven, and it cast down some of the host, and of the stars to the ground, and trode upon them,

11 And extolled himself against the [p]prince of the host, from whom the [q]daily sacrifice was taken away, and the place of his Sanctuary was cast down.

12 And [r]a time shall be given him over the daily sacrifice for the iniquity: and it shall [s]cast down the truth to the ground, and thus shall it do, and prosper.

13 Then I heard one of the [t]Saints speaking, and one of the Saints spake unto a certain one, saying, How long shall endure the vision of the daily sacrifice, and the iniquity of the [u]desolation to tread both the Sanctuary and the [v]army underfoot?

14 And [w]he answered me, Unto the [x]evening and the morning, two thousand and three hundred: then shall the Sanctuary be cleansed.

15 ¶ Now when I Daniel had seen the vision, and sought for the meaning, behold, there stood before me [y]like the similitude of a man.

16 And I heard a man’s voice between the banks of Ulai, which called, and said, Gabriel, [z]make this man to understand the vision.

17 So he came where I stood: and when he came, I was afraid, and fell upon my face: but he said unto me, Understand, O son of man: for [aa]in the last time shall be the vision.

18 Now as he was speaking unto me, I being asleep fell on my face to the ground: but he touched me, and set me up in my place.

19 And he said, Behold, I will show thee what shall be in the last [ab]wrath: for in the end of the time appointed it shall come.

20 The ram which thou sawest having two horns, are the Kings of the Medes and Persians.

21 And the goat is the King of Greece, and the great horn that is between his eyes, is the first king.

22 And that that is broken, and four stood up for it, are four kingdoms, which shall stand up [ac]of that nation, but not [ad]in his strength.

23 And in the end of their kingdom, when the rebellious shall be consumed, a King of [ae]fierce countenance, and understanding dark sentences, shall stand up.

24 And his power shall be mighty, but not [af]in his strength: and he shall destroy wonderfully, and shall prosper, and practice, and shall destroy the [ag]mighty, and the holy people.

25 And through his [ah]policy also he shall cause craft to prosper in his hand, and he shall extol himself in his heart, and by [ai]peace shall destroy many: he shall also stand up against the [aj]prince of princes, but he shall be broken down [ak]without hand.

26 And the vision of the [al]evening and the morning, which is declared, is true: therefore seal thou up the vision, for it shall be after many days.

27 And I Daniel was stricken and sick [am]certain days: but when I rose up, I did the king’s business, and I was astonished at the vision, but none understood it.
