尼布甲尼撒的梦
2 尼布甲尼撒在执政第二年做了梦，心里烦乱，无法入睡， 2 便派人召来术士、巫师、行法术的和占星家[a]，为他解梦。他们都来到王面前。 3 王对他们说：“我做了一个梦，心里烦乱，想知道梦的意思。” 4 占星家用亚兰话对王说：“愿王万岁！请将梦告诉仆人，仆人好解释梦的意思。” 5 王对占星家说：“我的旨意已定，你们若不能将梦和梦的意思告诉我，必被碎尸万段，你们的家必沦为废墟。 6 你们若能将梦和梦的意思告诉我，我必给你们礼物、赏赐和极大的尊荣。所以你们要将梦和梦的意思告诉我。” 7 他们再次对王说：“请王将梦告诉仆人，仆人好解释梦的意思。” 8 王说：“我敢肯定，你们是在拖延时间，因为你们知道我的旨意已定， 9 你们若不将梦告诉我，我必惩治你们。你们串通起来在我面前胡言乱语，期待情况会改变。现在将梦告诉我，我就相信你们能解梦。” 10 占星家说：“王所要求的，世上无人能做到，因为再伟大、再有权势的君王也没问过术士、巫师或占星家这样的事。 11 王问的事太难，除了不在人间居住的神明外，无人能为王解答。” 12 王大怒，下令处死巴比伦所有的智者。 13 于是，处死智者的谕旨发出，但以理和他的同伴都在被杀之列。
14 王的护卫长亚略奉命要处死巴比伦的智者，但以理机智、谨慎地应对。 15 他问王的护卫长亚略：“王的命令为何这样紧急？”亚略就把情况告诉他。 16 但以理便进宫求王宽限，以便为王解梦。 17 然后，他回到居所将这事告诉同伴哈拿尼雅、米沙利和亚撒利雅， 18 要同伴祈求天上的上帝施怜悯，显明这奥秘，以免他们和其他巴比伦的智者一起被杀。 19 这奥秘在夜间的异象中向但以理显明，他便颂赞天上的上帝， 20 说：
“上帝的名永永远远当受称颂，
因为智慧和能力都属于祂。
21 祂改变时令和季节，废王立王，

但以理解梦
24 于是，但以理去见王指派处死巴比伦智者的亚略，对他说：“不要处死巴比伦的智者，请带我去见王，我要为王解梦。” 25 亚略急忙带但以理去见王，对王说：“我在被掳的犹大人中找到一个能为王解梦的。” 26 王就问又名伯提沙撒的但以理：“你能将我做的梦和梦的意思告诉我吗？” 27 但以理回答说：“没有智者、术士、巫师或占星家可以解答王所问的奥秘， 28-30 但天上的上帝能揭开奥秘，祂已把将来要发生的事告诉了王。王啊，你在床上梦见了将来的事，揭开奥秘的上帝已把将来的事指示给你。上帝将王做的梦启示给我，并非因为我的智慧胜过其他人，而是要让王知道梦的意思和王的心事。以下是王在床上做的梦和脑中出现的异象。
31 “王啊，你梦见一个高大宏伟、极其明亮的塑像站在你面前，相貌可怕， 32 有纯金的头、银的胸和臂、铜的肚腹和大腿、 33 铁的小腿和半铁半泥的脚。 34 在你观看的时候，有一块非人手凿出的石头打在塑像半铁半泥的脚上，砸碎了脚。 35 铁、泥、铜、银、金随即粉碎，犹如夏天麦场上的糠秕，被风吹得无影无踪。但打碎这像的石头变成一座大山，充满整个大地。
36 “这就是梦的内容。现在我们要为王解梦。 37 王啊，你是万王之王，天上的上帝已将国度、权柄、能力和尊荣赐给你， 38 也将居住在各地的世人、走兽和飞禽都交在你手中，让你管理。你就是那金头。 39 在你之后，必有另一国兴起，不及你的国强大。之后是将要统治天下的第三个国，是铜的。 40 接着是坚如铁的第四国，能击垮、打碎列国，正如铁能击垮、打碎一切。 41 你看见半铁半陶泥的脚和脚趾，表示那将是一个分裂的国。正如你看见铁和泥混杂在一起，它必有铁一般的力量。 42 半铁半泥的脚趾表示那国必半强半弱。 43 你看见铁和泥混杂在一起，这表示那国的民族彼此混杂通婚，却不能团结，正如铁和泥无法混合。 44 在以上列王统治的时候，天上的上帝必设立一国——永不灭亡、外族无法夺其政权。这国将击垮、消灭列国，并且永远长存。 45 你看见那块非人手从山中凿出的石头打碎铁、铜、泥、银和金。伟大的上帝已把将来的事告诉了王。这梦是真实的，解释是可靠的。”

11 王 所 问 的 事 甚 难 。 除 了 不 与 世 人 同 居 的 神 明 ， 没 有 人 在 王 面 前 能 说 出 来 。
12 因 此 ， 王 气 忿 忿 地 大 发 烈 怒 ， 吩 咐 灭 绝 巴 比 伦 所 有 的 哲 士 。

16 但 以 理 遂 进 去 求 王 宽 限 ， 就 可 以 将 梦 的 讲 解 告 诉 王 。
17 但 以 理 回 到 他 的 居 所 ， 将 这 事 告 诉 他 的 同 伴 哈 拿 尼 雅 、 米 沙 利 、 亚 撒 利 雅 ，
18 要 他 们 祈 求 天 上 的 神 施 怜 悯 ， 将 这 奥 秘 的 事 指 明 ， 免 得 但 以 理 和 他 的 同 伴 与 巴 比 伦 其 馀 的 哲 士 一 同 灭 亡 。
19 这 奥 秘 的 事 就 在 夜 间 异 象 中 给 但 以 理 显 明 ， 但 以 理 便 称 颂 天 上 的 神 。
20 但 以 理 说 ： 神 的 名 是 应 当 称 颂 的 ！ 从 亘 古 直 到 永 远 ， 因 为 智 慧 能 力 都 属 乎 他 。
21 他 改 变 时 候 、 日 期 ， 废 王 ， 立 王 ， 将 智 慧 赐 与 智 慧 人 ， 将 知 识 赐 与 聪 明 人 。
22 他 显 明 深 奥 隐 秘 的 事 ， 知 道 暗 中 所 有 的 ， 光 明 也 与 他 同 居 。
23 我 列 祖 的 神 啊 ， 我 感 谢 你 ， 赞 美 你 ， 因 你 将 智 慧 才 能 赐 给 我 ， 允 准 我 们 所 求 的 ， 把 王 的 事 给 我 们 指 明 。
24 於 是 ， 但 以 理 进 去 见 亚 略 ， 就 是 王 所 派 灭 绝 巴 比 伦 哲 士 的 ， 对 他 说 ： 不 要 灭 绝 巴 比 伦 的 哲 士 ， 求 你 领 我 到 王 面 前 ， 我 要 将 梦 的 讲 解 告 诉 王 。
25 亚 略 就 急 忙 将 但 以 理 领 到 王 面 前 ， 对 王 说 ： 我 在 被 掳 的 犹 大 人 中 遇 见 一 人 ， 他 能 将 梦 的 讲 解 告 诉 王 。
26 王 问 称 为 伯 提 沙 撒 的 但 以 理 说 ： 你 能 将 我 所 做 的 梦 和 梦 的 讲 解 告 诉 我 麽 ？
27 但 以 理 在 王 面 前 回 答 说 ： 王 所 问 的 那 奥 秘 事 ， 哲 士 、 用 法 术 的 、 术 士 、 观 兆 的 都 不 能 告 诉 王 ；
28 只 有 一 位 在 天 上 的 神 能 显 明 奥 秘 的 事 。 他 已 将 日 後 必 有 的 事 指 示 尼 布 甲 尼 撒 王 。 你 的 梦 和 你 在 床 上 脑 中 的 异 象 是 这 样 ：
29 王 啊 ， 你 在 床 上 想 到 後 来 的 事 ， 那 显 明 奥 秘 事 的 主 把 将 来 必 有 的 事 指 示 你 。
30 至 於 那 奥 秘 的 事 显 明 给 我 ， 并 非 因 我 的 智 慧 胜 过 一 切 活 人 ， 乃 为 使 王 知 道 梦 的 讲 解 和 心 里 的 思 念 。
31 王 啊 ， 你 梦 见 一 个 大 像 ， 这 像 甚 高 ， 极 其 光 耀 ， 站 在 你 面 前 ， 形 状 甚 是 可 怕 。
32 这 像 的 头 是 精 金 的 ， 胸 膛 和 膀 臂 是 银 的 ， 肚 腹 和 腰 是 铜 的 ，
33 腿 是 铁 的 ， 脚 是 半 铁 半 泥 的 。
34 你 观 看 ， 见 有 一 块 非 人 手 凿 出 来 的 石 头 打 在 这 像 半 铁 半 泥 的 脚 上 ， 把 脚 砸 碎 ；
35 於 是 金 、 银 、 铜 、 铁 、 泥 都 一 同 砸 得 粉 碎 ， 成 如 夏 天 禾 场 上 的 糠 秕 ， 被 风 吹 散 ， 无 处 可 寻 。 打 碎 这 像 的 石 头 变 成 一 座 大 山 ， 充 满 天 下 。
36 这 就 是 那 梦 。 我 们 在 王 面 前 要 讲 解 那 梦 。
37 王 啊 ， 你 是 诸 王 之 王 。 天 上 的 神 已 将 国 度 、 权 柄 、 能 力 、 尊 荣 都 赐 给 你 。
38 凡 世 人 所 住 之 地 的 走 兽 ， 并 天 空 的 飞 鸟 ， 他 都 交 付 你 手 ， 使 你 掌 管 这 一 切 。 你 就 是 那 金 头 。
39 在 你 以 後 必 另 兴 一 国 ， 不 及 於 你 ； 又 有 第 三 国 ， 就 是 铜 的 ， 必 掌 管 天 下 。
40 第 四 国 ， 必 坚 壮 如 铁 ， 铁 能 打 碎 克 制 百 物 ， 又 能 压 碎 一 切 ， 那 国 也 必 打 碎 压 制 列 国 。

World English Bible
2 In the second year of the reign of Nebuchadnezzar, Nebuchadnezzar dreamed dreams; and his spirit was troubled, and his sleep went from him. 2 Then the king commanded that the magicians, the enchanters, the sorcerers, and the Chaldeans be called to tell the king his dreams. So they came in and stood before the king. 3 The king said to them, “I have dreamed a dream, and my spirit is troubled to know the dream.”
4 Then the Chaldeans spoke to the king in the Syrian language, “O king, live forever! Tell your servants the dream, and we will show the interpretation.”
5 The king answered the Chaldeans, “The thing has gone from me. If you don’t make known to me the dream and its interpretation, you will be cut in pieces, and your houses will be made a dunghill. 6 But if you show the dream and its interpretation, you will receive from me gifts, rewards, and great honor. Therefore show me the dream and its interpretation.”
7 They answered the second time and said, “Let the king tell his servants the dream, and we will show the interpretation.”
8 The king answered, “I know of a certainty that you are trying to gain time, because you see the thing has gone from me. 9 But if you don’t make known to me the dream, there is but one law for you; for you have prepared lying and corrupt words to speak before me, until the situation changes. Therefore tell me the dream, and I will know that you can show me its interpretation.”
10 The Chaldeans answered the king and said, “There is not a man on the earth who can show the king’s matter, because no king, lord, or ruler has asked such a thing of any magician, enchanter, or Chaldean. 11 It is a rare thing that the king requires, and there is no other who can show it before the king except the gods, whose dwelling is not with flesh.”
12 Because of this, the king was angry and very furious, and commanded that all the wise men of Babylon be destroyed. 13 So the decree went out, and the wise men were to be slain. They sought Daniel and his companions to be slain.
14 Then Daniel returned answer with counsel and prudence to Arioch the captain of the king’s guard, who had gone out to kill the wise men of Babylon. 15 He answered Arioch the king’s captain, “Why is the decree so urgent from the king?” Then Arioch made the thing known to Daniel. 16 Daniel went in, and desired of the king that he would appoint him a time, and he would show the king the interpretation.
17 Then Daniel went to his house and made the thing known to Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah, his companions: 18 that they would desire mercies of the God of heaven concerning this secret, that Daniel and his companions would not perish with the rest of the wise men of Babylon. 19 Then the secret was revealed to Daniel in a vision of the night. Then Daniel blessed the God of heaven. 20 Daniel answered,
“Blessed be the name of God forever and ever;
for wisdom and might are his.
21 He changes the times and the seasons.
He removes kings and sets up kings.
He gives wisdom to the wise,
and knowledge to those who have understanding.
22 He reveals the deep and secret things.
He knows what is in the darkness,
and the light dwells with him.
23 I thank you and praise you,
O God of my fathers,
who have given me wisdom and might,
and have now made known to me what we desired of you;
for you have made known to us the king’s matter.”
24 Therefore Daniel went in to Arioch, whom the king had appointed to destroy the wise men of Babylon. He went and said this to him: “Don’t destroy the wise men of Babylon. Bring me in before the king, and I will show to the king the interpretation.”
25 Then Arioch brought in Daniel before the king in haste, and said this to him: “I have found a man of the children of the captivity of Judah who will make known to the king the interpretation.”
26 The king answered Daniel, whose name was Belteshazzar, “Are you able to make known to me the dream which I have seen, and its interpretation?”
27 Daniel answered before the king, and said, “The secret which the king has demanded can’t be shown to the king by wise men, enchanters, magicians, or soothsayers; 28 but there is a God in heaven who reveals secrets, and he has made known to King Nebuchadnezzar what will be in the latter days. Your dream and the visions of your head on your bed are these:
29 “As for you, O king, your thoughts came on your bed, what should happen hereafter; and he who reveals secrets has made known to you what will happen. 30 But as for me, this secret is not revealed to me for any wisdom that I have more than any living, but to the intent that the interpretation may be made known to the king, and that you may know the thoughts of your heart.
31 “You, O king, saw, and behold,[a] a great image. This image, which was mighty, and whose brightness was excellent, stood before you; and its appearance was terrifying. 32 As for this image, its head was of fine gold, its chest and its arms of silver, its belly and its thighs of bronze, 33 its legs of iron, its feet part of iron and part of clay. 34 You saw until a stone was cut out without hands, which struck the image on its feet that were of iron and clay, and broke them in pieces. 35 Then the iron, the clay, the bronze, the silver, and the gold were broken in pieces together, and became like the chaff of the summer threshing floors. The wind carried them away, so that no place was found for them. The stone that struck the image became a great mountain and filled the whole earth.
36 “This is the dream; and we will tell its interpretation before the king. 37 You, O king, are king of kings, to whom the God of heaven has given the kingdom, the power, the strength, and the glory. 38 Wherever the children of men dwell, he has given the animals of the field and the birds of the sky into your hand, and has made you rule over them all. You are the head of gold.
39 “After you, another kingdom will arise that is inferior to you; and another third kingdom of bronze, which will rule over all the earth. 40 The fourth kingdom will be strong as iron, because iron breaks in pieces and subdues all things; and as iron that crushes all these, it will break in pieces and crush. 41 Whereas you saw the feet and toes, part of potters’ clay and part of iron, it will be a divided kingdom; but there will be in it of the strength of the iron, because you saw the iron mixed with miry clay. 42 As the toes of the feet were part of iron, and part of clay, so the kingdom will be partly strong and partly brittle. 43 Whereas you saw the iron mixed with miry clay, they will mingle themselves with the seed of men; but they won’t cling to one another, even as iron does not mix with clay.
44 “In the days of those kings the God of heaven will set up a kingdom which will never be destroyed, nor will its sovereignty be left to another people; but it will break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it will stand forever. 45 Because you saw that a stone was cut out of the mountain without hands, and that it broke in pieces the iron, the bronze, the clay, the silver, and the gold, the great God has made known to the king what will happen hereafter. The dream is certain, and its interpretation sure.”
46 Then King Nebuchadnezzar fell on his face, worshiped Daniel, and commanded that they should offer an offering and sweet odors to him. 47 The king answered to Daniel, and said, “Of a truth your God is the God of gods, and the Lord of kings, and a revealer of secrets, since you have been able to reveal this secret.”
48 Then the king made Daniel great and gave him many great gifts, and made him rule over the whole province of Babylon and to be chief governor over all the wise men of Babylon. 49 Daniel requested of the king, and he appointed Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego over the affairs of the province of Babylon, but Daniel was in the king’s gate.
