但以理决心不用王膳
8 但以理决心不让御用的佳肴美酒玷污自己，所以求太监长帮助他，使他不用玷污自己。 9 于是 神使但以理在太监长面前得着恩惠和同情。 10 只是太监长对但以理说：“我惧怕我主我王，他已指定了你们应用的饮食；如果他见到你们的面色比你们同岁的年轻人憔悴难看，你们就使我的头在王面前保不住了。”

New International Version
8 But Daniel resolved not to defile(A) himself with the royal food and wine, and he asked the chief official for permission not to defile himself this way. 9 Now God had caused the official to show favor(B) and compassion(C) to Daniel, 10 but the official told Daniel, “I am afraid of my lord the king, who has assigned your[a] food and drink.(D) Why should he see you looking worse than the other young men your age? The king would then have my head because of you.”
