³壓傷的蘆葦，祂不折斷；
將殘的燈火，祂不吹滅。
祂必信實地帶來正義。
⁴祂不灰心也不沮喪，
直到祂在地上設立正義。
四海都渴望祂的訓誨。」

⁵創造諸天、鋪展穹蒼、
設立大地和地上的一切、
賜給世人生命氣息和靈性的耶和華上帝說：

Isaiah 42:3-5

³He will not break a bruised reed,
and He will not put out a smoldering wick;
He will faithfully bring justice.
⁴He will not grow weak or be discouraged
until He has established justice on earth.
The islands will wait for His instruction.”^(A)

⁵This is what God, Yahweh, says—
who created the heavens and stretched them out,^(B)
who spread out the earth and what comes from it,^(C)
who gives breath to the people on it
and life^[a] to those who walk on it^(D)—
