11 從耶西的樹幹必生出一根嫩芽，
從他的根而出的枝條必結果子。
2 耶和華的靈必停留在他身上，
就是智慧的靈和聰明的靈，
謀略的靈和能力的靈，
知識的靈和敬畏耶和華的靈。
3 他必以敬畏耶和華為樂。
他不憑眼睛所見的施行審判，
也不憑耳朵所聽的斷定是非；
4 卻要以公義審判貧窮人，
以正直判斷地上的困苦人；
以口中的杖擊打世界，
以嘴裡的氣殺死惡人。
5 公義必作他腰間的帶子，
信實必作他脅下的帶子。
6 豺狼必與綿羊羔同住，
豹子要與山羊羔同臥，
牛犢、幼獅和肥畜必同群；
小孩子要牽引牠們。
7 牛必與母熊一同吃食，
牛犢必與小熊一起躺臥；
獅子就像牛一般吃草。
8 吃奶的嬰兒必在虺蛇的洞口玩耍，
斷奶的孩子必放他的手在毒蛇的穴上。
9 在我整個聖山上面，這一切都不行傷害或毀滅之事；
因為認識耶和華的知識要充滿大地，
好像海水覆蓋海洋一般。
預言被擄的人回歸
10 到那日，耶西的根必豎立起來，
作萬族的旗幟；
列國的人必尋求他，
他安息之所必大有榮耀。
11 到那日，
主必再用自己的手，
贖回他子民中的餘民，
就是從亞述、埃及、巴忒羅、古實、以攔、示拿和哈馬，
以及眾海島所剩下的。
12 他必向列國豎起旗幟，
召聚以色列被擄去的人，
又從地的四方
聚集分散了的猶大人。
13 以法蓮的嫉妒必消除，
那敵視猶大的必被剪除；
以法蓮必不再嫉妒猶大，
猶大也必不再敵視以法蓮。
14 他們要向西飛，撲在非利士人的山麓上，
一起擄掠東方人；
他們必把手伸到以東和摩押之上，
亞捫人必順服他們。
15 耶和華必使埃及的海灣乾涸；
他要用熱風在大河之上揮手，
他要擊打它，使它分成七道支流，
使人走過去也不會把鞋弄濕。
16 為著 神的餘民，
就是那些在亞述剩下歸回的，
必有一條大路給他們歸回，
正如以色列人從埃及地上來的日子一樣。

11 Un rameau poussera ╵sur le tronc d’Isaï[a],
un rejeton naîtra ╵de ses racines, ╵et portera du fruit[b].
2 L’Esprit de l’Eternel ╵reposera sur lui,
et cet Esprit lui donnera ╵le discernement, la sagesse,
le conseil et la force ;
il lui fera connaître ╵et craindre l’Eternel.
3 Il sera tout empreint ╵de la crainte de l’Eternel.
Il ne jugera pas ╵d’après les apparences,
et n’arbitrera pas ╵d’après des ouï-dire.
4 Il jugera les pauvres ╵avec justice,
et il arbitrera ╵selon le droit
en faveur des malheureux du pays.
Il frappera la terre ╵de sa parole ╵comme avec un bâton ;
le souffle de sa bouche ╵abattra le méchant[c].
5 Il aura la justice ╵pour ceinture à ses reins
et la fidélité ╵pour ceinture à ses hanches.
6 Le loup vivra avec l’agneau,
la panthère reposera ╵aux côtés du chevreau.
Le veau et le lionceau ╵et le bœuf à l’engrais ╵seront[d] ensemble,
et un petit enfant ╵les conduira[e].
7 Les vaches et les ourses ╵brouteront côte à côte,
et leurs petits ╵auront un même gîte.
Le lion et le bœuf ╵se nourriront de paille.
8 Le nourrisson ╵s’ébattra sans danger ╵près du nid du cobra,
et le tout jeune enfant ╵pourra mettre la main ╵dans l’antre du serpent.
9 On ne commettra plus ╵ni mal ni destruction
sur toute l’étendue ╵de ma montagne sainte.
Car la terre sera remplie ╵de la connaissance de l’Eternel
comme les eaux recouvrent ╵le fond des mers[f].
10 Il adviendra ╵en ce jour-là ╵que le descendant d’Isaï[g]
se dressera ╵comme un étendard pour les peuples,
et tous les peuples étrangers ╵se tourneront vers lui.
Et son lieu de repos ╵resplendira de gloire[h].
11 En ce jour-là, ╵le Seigneur étendra sa main ╵une seconde fois[i]
pour libérer le reste de son peuple
qui aura subsisté en Assyrie ╵et en Egypte,
à Patros et en Ethiopie,
à Elam, en Babylonie, ╵et à Hamath[j],
ainsi que dans les îles ╵et les régions côtières.
12 Il dressera son étendard ╵en direction des peuples étrangers ;
quant aux exilés d’Israël, ╵il les rassemblera,
et les dispersés de Juda, ╵il les regroupera
des quatre coins du monde.
13 Ce jour-là cessera ╵la rivalité d’Ephraïm,
et les ennemis de Juda ╵disparaîtront.
D’une part, Ephraïm ╵n’enviera plus Juda,
et d’autre part, Juda ╵ne sera plus ╵l’ennemi d’Ephraïm.
14 De concert, ils fondront sur les collines ╵des Philistins à l’ouest,
et pilleront ╵les peuples de l’Orient[k].
Ils s’en prendront ╵à Edom et Moab,
et domineront sur les Ammonites[l].
15 Et l’Eternel asséchera
le golfe de la mer d’Egypte[m],
il lèvera sa main ╵pour menacer l’Euphrate,
et, par son souffle impétueux,
il brisera ce fleuve ╵en sept rivières
que l’on pourra passer ╵sans ôter ses sandales.
16 Et il y aura une route ╵pour ceux de son peuple qui resteront,
et qui demeureront encore ╵en Assyrie,
comme il y eut jadis ╵une route pour Israël
quand il sortit d’Egypte.

11 And there shall come forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse, and a Branch shall grow out of his roots:
2 And the spirit of the Lord shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the Lord;
3 And shall make him of quick understanding in the fear of the Lord: and he shall not judge after the sight of his eyes, neither reprove after the hearing of his ears:
4 But with righteousness shall he judge the poor, and reprove with equity for the meek of the earth: and he shall smite the earth: with the rod of his mouth, and with the breath of his lips shall he slay the wicked.
5 And righteousness shall be the girdle of his loins, and faithfulness the girdle of his reins.
6 The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid; and the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and a little child shall lead them.
7 And the cow and the bear shall feed; their young ones shall lie down together: and the lion shall eat straw like the ox.
8 And the sucking child shall play on the hole of the asp, and the weaned child shall put his hand on the cockatrice' den.
9 They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain: for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the Lord, as the waters cover the sea.
10 And in that day there shall be a root of Jesse, which shall stand for an ensign of the people; to it shall the Gentiles seek: and his rest shall be glorious.
11 And it shall come to pass in that day, that the Lord shall set his hand again the second time to recover the remnant of his people, which shall be left, from Assyria, and from Egypt, and from Pathros, and from Cush, and from Elam, and from Shinar, and from Hamath, and from the islands of the sea.
12 And he shall set up an ensign for the nations, and shall assemble the outcasts of Israel, and gather together the dispersed of Judah from the four corners of the earth.
13 The envy also of Ephraim shall depart, and the adversaries of Judah shall be cut off: Ephraim shall not envy Judah, and Judah shall not vex Ephraim.
14 But they shall fly upon the shoulders of the Philistines toward the west; they shall spoil them of the east together: they shall lay their hand upon Edom and Moab; and the children of Ammon shall obey them.
15 And the Lord shall utterly destroy the tongue of the Egyptian sea; and with his mighty wind shall he shake his hand over the river, and shall smite it in the seven streams, and make men go over dryshod.
16 And there shall be an highway for the remnant of his people, which shall be left, from Assyria; like as it was to Israel in the day that he came up out of the land of Egypt.
