38 耶和华对我说： 2 “人子啊，你要面向玛各地区的歌革，就是米设和土巴的首领，说预言斥责他， 3 告诉他，主耶和华这样说，‘米设和土巴的首领歌革啊，我要与你为敌。 4 我要把你调转过来，用钩子钩住你的腮，把你和你那些全副武装、拿着大小盾牌、挥动刀剑的军队、马匹和骑兵都拖出来。 5 你的军队中有拿着盾牌、戴着头盔的波斯人、古实人和弗人， 6 还有歌篾的军队和从遥远的北方来的陀迦玛军队。许多国家的军队都与你在一起。
7 “‘你和你的联军都要预备好，你要做他们的统帅。 8 再过多日，你必被征召出战。在以后的岁月，你将去攻打一片从战争中恢复的土地，以色列久已荒凉的山上有从各国招聚来的百姓。他们从列国中被领回来，如今都在那里安然居住。 9 你和你的军队以及各国的联军一起上来，如暴风来临，又如密云覆盖大地。’
10 “‘主耶和华说，“那时你必心起歹念，筹划恶谋。 11 你必说，我要攻打那没有围墙和城门保护的乡村，毁灭那毫无戒备、安然居住的百姓。 12 我要抢掠他们的财物，下手攻击那曾是废墟的城邑和从各国归来的百姓。他们住在世界的中心，牲畜货物甚多。 13 示巴人、底但人以及他施的客商和首领都必问，你是来抢掠吗？你聚集军队是来抢夺金银财宝，掳掠牲畜和货物吗？”’
14 “人子啊，你要发预言告诉歌革，主耶和华这样说，‘到那天，当我的以色列子民安然居住的时候，难道你会不知道吗？ 15 你召集各国联军，组成庞大的军队，骑着马从遥远的北方来。 16 歌革啊，你必如密云一样遮天蔽日，前来攻击我的以色列子民。将来，我要领你来攻击我的土地，我要在列国面前借着你彰显我的圣洁，使他们认识我。’
17 “主耶和华说，‘歌革啊，我从前借我的仆人——以色列的先知所预言的那位就是你，那时他们预言我要领你上来攻击以色列。 18 当歌革上来攻击以色列的时候，我必发烈怒。这是主耶和华说的。 19 我要在义愤和烈怒中宣告，那天在以色列必有大地震。 20 海里的鱼，空中的鸟，田野的走兽，地上的一切动物和人类都要在我面前战栗。山岭必倒塌，悬崖必崩裂，墙垣必坍塌。 21 我要在我的山岭上叫刀剑攻击歌革人，使他们自相残杀。这是主耶和华说的。 22 我要用瘟疫、杀戮、暴雨、冰雹、烈火和硫磺惩罚他们和他们的联军。 23 我要彰显我的权能和圣洁，使各国的人都认识我。这样他们就知道我是耶和华。’

38 La parole de l'Éternel me fut adressée, en ces mots:
2 Fils de l'homme, tourne ta face vers Gog, au pays de Magog, Vers le prince de Rosch, de Méschec et de Tubal, Et prophétise contre lui!
3 Tu diras: Ainsi parle le Seigneur, l'Éternel: Voici, j'en veux à toi, Gog, Prince de Rosch, de Méschec et de Tubal!
4 Je t'entraînerai, et je mettrai une boucle à tes mâchoires; Je te ferai sortir, toi et toute ton armée, Chevaux et cavaliers, Tous vêtus magnifiquement, Troupe nombreuse portant le grand et le petit bouclier, Tous maniant l'épée;
5 Et avec eux ceux de Perse, d'Éthiopie et de Puth, Tous portant le bouclier et le casque;
6 Gomer et toutes ses troupes, La maison de Togarma, A l'extrémité du septentrion, Et toutes ses troupes, Peuples nombreux qui sont avec toi.
7 Prépare-toi, tiens-toi prêt, Toi, et toute ta multitude assemblée autour de toi! Sois leur chef!
8 Après bien des jours, tu seras à leur tête; Dans la suite des années, tu marcheras contre le pays Dont les habitants, échappés à l'épée, Auront été rassemblés d'entre plusieurs peuples Sur les montagnes d'Israël longtemps désertes; Retirés du milieu des peuples, Ils seront tous en sécurité dans leurs demeures.
9 Tu monteras, tu t'avanceras comme une tempête, Tu seras comme une nuée qui va couvrir le pays, Toi et toutes tes troupes, et les nombreux peuples avec toi.
10 Ainsi parle le Seigneur, l'Éternel: En ce jour-là, des pensées s'élèveront dans ton coeur, Et tu formeras de mauvais desseins.
11 Tu diras: Je monterai contre un pays ouvert, Je fondrai sur des hommes tranquilles, En sécurité dans leurs demeures, Tous dans des habitations sans murailles, Et n'ayant ni verrous ni portes;
12 J'irai faire du butin et me livrer au pillage, Porter la main sur des ruines maintenant habitées, Sur un peuple recueilli du milieu des nations, Ayant des troupeaux et des propriétés, Et occupant les lieux élevés du pays.
13 Séba et Dedan, les marchands de Tarsis, Et tous leurs lionceaux, te diront: Viens-tu pour faire du butin? Est-ce pour piller que tu as rassemblé ta multitude, Pour emporter de l'argent et de l'or, Pour prendre des troupeaux et des biens, Pour faire un grand butin?
14 C'est pourquoi prophétise, fils de l'homme, et dis à Gog: Ainsi parle le Seigneur, l'Éternel: Oui, le jour où mon peuple d'Israël vivra en sécurité, Tu le sauras.
15 Alors tu partiras de ton pays, des extrémités du septentrion, Toi et de nombreux peuples avec toi, Tous montés sur des chevaux, Une grande multitude, une armée puissante.
16 Tu t'avanceras contre mon peuple d'Israël, Comme une nuée qui va couvrir le pays. Dans la suite des jours, je te ferai marcher contre mon pays, Afin que les nations me connaissent, Quand je serai sanctifié par toi sous leurs yeux, ô Gog!
17 Ainsi parle le Seigneur, l'Éternel: Est-ce toi de qui j'ai parlé jadis Par mes serviteurs les prophètes d'Israël, Qui ont prophétisé alors, pendant des années, Que je t'amènerais contre eux?
18 En ce jour-là, le jour où Gog marchera contre la terre d'Israël, Dit le Seigneur, l'Éternel, La fureur me montera dans les narines.
19 Je le déclare, dans ma jalousie et dans le feu de ma colère, En ce jour-là, il y aura un grand tumulte Dans le pays d'Israël.
20 Les poissons de la mer et les oiseaux du ciel trembleront devant moi, Et les bêtes des champs et tous les reptiles qui rampent sur la terre, Et tous les hommes qui sont à la surface de la terre; Les montagnes seront renversées, Les parois des rochers s'écrouleront, Et toutes les murailles tomberont par terre.
21 J'appellerai l'épée contre lui sur toutes mes montagnes, Dit le Seigneur, l'Éternel; L'épée de chacun se tournera contre son frère.
22 J'exercerai mes jugements contre lui par la peste et par le sang, Par une pluie violente et par des pierres de grêle; Je ferai pleuvoir le feu et le soufre sur lui et sur ses troupes, Et sur les peuples nombreux qui seront avec lui.
23 Je manifesterai ma grandeur et ma sainteté, Je me ferai connaître aux yeux de la multitude des nations, Et elles sauront que je suis l'Éternel.

38 2 He prophesieth that Gog and Magog shall fight with great power against the people of God. 21 Their destruction.
1 And the word of the Lord came unto me, saying,
2 Son of men, set thy face against [a]Gog, and against the land of Magog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal, and prophesy against him,
3 And say, Thus saith the Lord God, Behold, I come against thee, O Gog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal.
4 And I will destroy thee, and put hooks in thy jaws, and I will bring thee forth and all thine host, both horses and horsemen, all clothed with all sorts of armor, even a great multitude with bucklers and shields, all [b]handling swords.
5 They of [c]Paras, of Cush, and Put with them, even all they that bear shield and helmet.
6 [d]Gomer and all his bands, and the house of Togarmah of the North quarters, and all his bands, and much people with thee.
7 Prepare thyself, and make thee [e]ready, both thou, and all thy multitude that are assembled unto thee, and be thou their safeguard.
8 After many days thou shalt be visited: for in the latter years thou shalt come into the land that hath been destroyed with the sword, and is gathered out of many people upon the mountains of Israel, which have long lain waste: yet [f]they have been brought out of the people, and they shall dwell all safe.
9 Thou shalt ascend and come up like a tempest, and shalt be like a cloud to cover the land, both thou, and all thy bands, and many people with thee.
10 Thus saith the Lord God, Even at the same time shall many things come into thy mind, and thou shalt think [g]evil thoughts.
11 And thou shalt say, I will go up to the land that hath no walled towers: [h]I will go to them that are at rest and dwell in safety, which dwell all without walls, and have neither bars nor gates,
12 Thinking to spoil the prey, and to take a booty, to turn thine hand upon the desolate places that are now inhabited, and upon the people that are gathered out of the nations which have gotten cattle, and goods, and dwell in the midst of the land.
13 Sheba and Dedan, and the merchants of Tarshish with all the lions thereof shall say unto thee, [i]Art thou come to spoil the prey? hast thou gathered thy multitude to take a booty? to carry away silver and gold, to take away cattle and goods, and to spoil a great prey?
14 Therefore, son of man, prophesy, and say unto Gog, Thus saith the Lord God, In that day, when my people of Israel [j]dwelleth safe shalt thou not know it,
15 And come from thy place out of the North parts, thou and much people with thee? all shall ride upon horses, even a great multitude and a mighty army.
16 And thou shalt come up against my people of Israel, as a cloud to cover the land, thou shalt be in the [k]latter days, and I will bring thee upon my land, that the heathen may know me, when I [l]shall be sanctified in thee, O Gog, before their eyes.
17 Thus saith the Lord God, Art not thou he, of whom I have spoken in old time, [m]by the hand of my servants the Prophets of Israel which prophesied in those days and years, that I would bring thee upon them?
18 At the same time also when Gog shall come against the land of Israel, saith the Lord God, my wrath shall arise in mine anger.
19 For in mine indignation, and in the fire of my wrath have I spoken it: surely at that time there shall be a great shaking in the land of Israel,
20 So that the fishes of the Sea, and the fowls of the heaven, and the beasts of the field, and all that move and creep upon the earth, and all the men that are upon the earth, shall tremble at my presence, and the mountains shall be overthrown, and the [n]stairs shall fall, and every wall shall fall to the ground.
21 For I will call for a sword against him [o]throughout all my mountains, saith the Lord God: every man’s sword shall be against his brother.
22 And I will plead against him with pestilence, and with blood, and I will cause to rain upon him and upon his bands, and upon the great people that are with him, a sore rain, and hailstones, fire, and brimstone.
23 Thus will I be (A)magnified, and sanctified, and known in the eyes of many nations, and they shall know, that I am the Lord.

- Ezekiel 38:2 Which was a people that came of Magog the son of Japheth, Gen. 10:2. Magog also here signifieth a certain country so that by these two countries which had the government of Greece and Italy, he meaneth the principal enemies of the Church, Rev. 20:8.
- Ezekiel 38:4 He showeth that the enemies should bend themselves against the Church, but it should be to their own destruction.
- Ezekiel 38:5 The Persians, Ethiopians and men of Africa.
- Ezekiel 38:6 Gomer was Japheth’s son, and Togarmah the son of Gomer, and are thought to be they that inhabit Asia Minor.
- Ezekiel 38:7 Signifying, that all the people of the world should assemble themselves against the Church and Christ their head.
- Ezekiel 38:8 Or, it: meaning, the land of Israel.
- Ezekiel 38:10 That is, to molest and destroy the Church.
- Ezekiel 38:11 Meaning, Israel, which had now been destroyed, and was not yet built again: declaring hereby the simplicity of the godly, who seek not so much to fortify themselves by outward force, as to depend on the providence and goodness of God.
- Ezekiel 38:13 One enemy shall envy another because everyone shall think to have the spoil of the Church.
- Ezekiel 38:14 Shalt not thou spy thine occasions to come against my Church when they suspect nothing?
- Ezekiel 38:16 Meaning, in the last age, and from the coming of Christ unto the end of the world.
- Ezekiel 38:16 Signifying, that God will be sanctified by maintaining his Church, and destroying his enemies, as Ezek. 36:23 and 37:28.
- Ezekiel 38:17 Hereby he declareth that none affliction can come to the Church, whereof they have not been advertised aforetime, to teach them to endure all things with more patience, when they know that God hath so ordained.
- Ezekiel 38:20 All means whereby man should think to save himself, shall fail, the affliction in those days shall be so great, and the enemies’ destruction shall be so terrible.
- Ezekiel 38:21 Against the people of Gog and Magog.
