3 祂对我说：“人子啊，你要把得到的吃下去，要吃下这书卷，然后去向以色列人传讲。” 2 我张开口，祂就给我吃那书卷， 3 对我说：“吃下我赐你的这书卷，让它充满你的肚腹。”我便吃了，书卷在我嘴里甘甜如蜜。
4 祂又对我说：“人子啊，现在你要到以色列人那里，把我的话传给他们。 5 你不是奉命去语言不通的民族那里，而是到以色列人当中。 6 我不是派你到那些语言陌生、难懂、你听不明白的民族中。我若果真派你到他们那里，他们一定会听你的话。 7 然而以色列人却不肯听从你，因为他们顽固不化，不肯听从我。 8 不过，我要使你的脸像他们的脸一样硬，使你的额像他们的额一样硬。 9 我要使你的额比火石更硬，如同金刚石。他们虽然是一群叛逆的人，你不要害怕，也不要因为他们的脸色而惊慌。” 10 祂又说：“人子啊，你要留心听我说的一切话，牢记在心。 11 你要到你那些被掳的同胞那里，不论他们听不听，你都要向他们宣告，‘主耶和华这样说。’”
12 那时，灵把我举起，我听见后面有隆隆的声音说：“耶和华的荣耀在祂的居所当受称颂！” 13 我听见活物的翅膀相碰的声音，以及他们旁边的轮子发出的隆隆声。 14 灵把我举起带走了。我心里苦闷，充满愤怒，耶和华大能的手在我身上。 15 我来到住在提勒·亚毕的被掳的人中，在迦巴鲁河边。我感到无比震惊，在他们中间坐了七天。
告诫以色列人
16 过了七天，耶和华对我说： 17 “人子啊，我立你做以色列人的守望者，你要把我告诫他们的话告诉他们。 18 当我说某个恶人必灭亡时，如果你不告诫他，劝告他痛改前非，挽救他的性命，他必死在自己的罪中，而我要追究你的责任。 19 如果你已经告诫他，他还是不肯离开自己的邪恶和罪行，他必死在罪恶之中，而你必免于罪责。 20 如果一个义人偏离正道、犯罪作恶，我会使他跌倒，他必死亡。如果你不告诫他，他必死在罪恶之中，他以前的义行也不会被记念，而我要追究你的责任。 21 如果你告诫他不要犯罪，他听了你的告诫不再犯罪，他必保住性命，你也必免于罪责。”
22 在那里，耶和华的手按在我身上，对我说：“你起来前往平原，我要在那里对你说话。” 23 我到了平原，看见耶和华的荣耀停在那里，那荣耀和我在迦巴鲁河边所见的一样，我就俯伏在地。 24 这时灵进入我里面，使我站立起来。耶和华对我说：“你要把自己关在房子里。 25 人子啊，他们必把你捆绑起来，使你不能到百姓当中。 26 同时，我要使你的舌头紧贴上膛，使你不能开口责备他们，因为他们是一群叛逆的人。 27 但当我对你说话的时候，我必开启你的口，你要向他们宣告，‘主耶和华这样说。’肯听的就让他听，不肯听的就由他不听，因为他们是一群叛逆的人。”

3 And he said to me, “Son of man, eat what is before you, eat this scroll; then go and speak to the people of Israel.” 2 So I opened my mouth, and he gave me the scroll to eat.
3 Then he said to me, “Son of man, eat this scroll I am giving you and fill your stomach with it.” So I ate(A) it, and it tasted as sweet as honey(B) in my mouth.
4 He then said to me: “Son of man, go now to the people of Israel and speak my words to them.(C) 5 You are not being sent to a people of obscure speech and strange language,(D) but to the people of Israel— 6 not to many peoples of obscure speech and strange language, whose words you cannot understand. Surely if I had sent you to them, they would have listened to you.(E) 7 But the people of Israel are not willing to listen(F) to you because they are not willing to listen to me, for all the Israelites are hardened and obstinate.(G) 8 But I will make you as unyielding and hardened as they are.(H) 9 I will make your forehead(I) like the hardest stone, harder than flint.(J) Do not be afraid of them or terrified by them, though they are a rebellious people.(K)”
10 And he said to me, “Son of man, listen carefully and take to heart(L) all the words I speak to you. 11 Go(M) now to your people in exile and speak to them. Say to them, ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says,’(N) whether they listen or fail to listen.(O)”
12 Then the Spirit lifted me up,(P) and I heard behind me a loud rumbling sound as the glory of the Lord rose from the place where it was standing.[a] 13 It was the sound of the wings of the living creatures(Q) brushing against each other and the sound of the wheels beside them, a loud rumbling sound.(R) 14 The Spirit(S) then lifted me up(T) and took me away, and I went in bitterness and in the anger of my spirit, with the strong hand of the Lord(U) on me. 15 I came to the exiles who lived at Tel Aviv near the Kebar River.(V) And there, where they were living, I sat among them for seven days(W)—deeply distressed.
Ezekiel’s Task as Watchman
16 At the end of seven days the word of the Lord came to me:(X) 17 “Son of man, I have made you a watchman(Y) for the people of Israel; so hear the word I speak and give them warning from me.(Z) 18 When I say to a wicked person, ‘You will surely die,(AA)’ and you do not warn them or speak out to dissuade them from their evil ways in order to save their life, that wicked person will die for[b] their sin, and I will hold you accountable for their blood.(AB) 19 But if you do warn the wicked person and they do not turn(AC) from their wickedness(AD) or from their evil ways, they will die(AE) for their sin; but you will have saved yourself.(AF)
20 “Again, when a righteous person turns(AG) from their righteousness and does evil, and I put a stumbling block(AH) before them, they will die. Since you did not warn them, they will die for their sin. The righteous things that person did will not be remembered, and I will hold you accountable for their blood.(AI) 21 But if you do warn the righteous person not to sin and they do not sin, they will surely live because they took warning, and you will have saved yourself.(AJ)”
22 The hand of the Lord(AK) was on me there, and he said to me, “Get up and go(AL) out to the plain,(AM) and there I will speak to you.” 23 So I got up and went out to the plain. And the glory of the Lord was standing there, like the glory I had seen by the Kebar River,(AN) and I fell facedown.(AO)
24 Then the Spirit came into me and raised me(AP) to my feet. He spoke to me and said: “Go, shut yourself inside your house.(AQ) 25 And you, son of man, they will tie with ropes; you will be bound so that you cannot go out among the people.(AR) 26 I will make your tongue stick to the roof(AS) of your mouth so that you will be silent and unable to rebuke them, for they are a rebellious people.(AT) 27 But when I speak to you, I will open your mouth and you shall say to them, ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says.’(AU) Whoever will listen let them listen, and whoever will refuse let them refuse; for they are a rebellious people.(AV)

The Responsibility of the Prophet
3 Moreover He said to me, “Son of man, eat what you find; (A)eat this scroll, and go, speak to the house of Israel.” 2 So I opened my mouth, and He caused me to eat that scroll.
3 And He said to me, “Son of man, feed your belly, and fill your stomach with this scroll that I give you.” So I (B)ate, and it was in my mouth (C)like honey in sweetness.
4 Then He said to me: “Son of man, go to the house of Israel and speak with My words to them. 5 For you are not sent to a people of unfamiliar speech and of hard language, but to the house of Israel, 6 not to many people of unfamiliar speech and of hard language, whose words you cannot understand. Surely, (D)had I sent you to them, they would have listened to you. 7 But the house of Israel will not listen to you, (E)because they will not listen to Me; (F)for all the house of Israel are [a]impudent and hard-hearted. 8 Behold, I have made your face strong against their faces, and your forehead strong against their foreheads. 9 (G)Like adamant stone, harder than flint, I have made your forehead; (H)do not be afraid of them, nor be dismayed at their looks, though they are a rebellious house.”
10 Moreover He said to me: “Son of man, receive into your heart all My words that I speak to you, and hear with your ears. 11 And go, get to the captives, to the children of your people, and speak to them and tell them, (I)‘Thus says the Lord God,’ whether they hear, or whether they refuse.”
12 Then (J)the Spirit lifted me up, and I heard behind me a great thunderous voice: “Blessed is the (K)glory of the Lord from His place!” 13 I also heard the (L)noise of the wings of the living creatures that touched one another, and the noise of the wheels beside them, and a great thunderous noise. 14 So the Spirit lifted me up and took me away, and I went in bitterness, in the [b]heat of my spirit; but (M)the hand of the Lord was strong upon me. 15 Then I came to the captives at Tel Abib, who dwelt by the River Chebar; and (N)I sat where they sat, and remained there astonished among them seven days.
Ezekiel Is a Watchman
16 Now it (O)came to pass at the end of seven days that the word of the Lord came to me, saying, 17 (P)“Son of man, I have made you (Q)a watchman for the house of Israel; therefore hear a word from My mouth, and give them (R)warning from Me: 18 When I say to the wicked, ‘You shall surely die,’ and you give him no warning, nor speak to warn the wicked from his wicked way, to save his life, that same wicked man (S)shall die in his iniquity; but his blood I will require at your hand. 19 Yet, if you warn the wicked, and he does not turn from his wickedness, nor from his wicked way, he shall die in his iniquity; (T)but you have delivered your soul.
20 “Again, when a (U)righteous man turns from his righteousness and commits iniquity, and I lay a stumbling block before him, he shall die; because you did not give him warning, he shall die in his sin, and his righteousness which he has done shall not be remembered; but his blood I will require at your hand. 21 Nevertheless if you warn the righteous man that the righteous should not sin, and he does not sin, he shall surely live because he took warning; also you will have delivered your soul.”
22 (V)Then the hand of the Lord was upon me there, and He said to me, “Arise, go out (W)into the plain, and there I shall talk with you.”
23 So I arose and went out into the plain, and behold, (X)the glory of the Lord stood there, like the glory which I (Y)saw by the River Chebar; (Z)and I fell on my face. 24 Then (AA)the Spirit entered me and set me on my feet, and spoke with me and said to me: “Go, shut yourself inside your house. 25 And you, O son of man, surely (AB)they will put ropes on you and bind you with them, so that you cannot go out among them. 26 (AC)I will make your tongue cling to the roof of your mouth, so that you shall be mute and (AD)not be [c]one to rebuke them, (AE)for they are a rebellious house. 27 (AF)But when I speak with you, I will open your mouth, and you shall say to them, (AG)‘Thus says the Lord God.’ He who hears, let him hear; and he who refuses, let him refuse; for they are a rebellious house.

— Hijo de hombre, come este libro enrollado y vete a hablar a los israelitas.
2 Yo abrí la boca y me hizo comer el libro. 3 Después me dijo:
— Hijo de hombre, alimenta tu vientre y llena tus entrañas con este libro enrollado que te doy.
Yo lo comí y me supo dulce como la miel. 4 A continuación me dijo:
— Hijo de hombre, vete sin falta a los israelitas y transmíteles mis palabras. 5 Pues no te envío a gente que habla de forma extraña o que tiene una pronunciación rara, sino al pueblo de Israel. 6 No te envío a diversos pueblos que hablan de forma extraña o que tienen una pronunciación rara, cuya lengua nunca has oído; aunque estoy seguro de que si te enviara a ellos, te harían caso. 7 Pero Israel no querrá escucharte porque no está dispuesto a escucharme a mí, pues todos los israelitas son obstinados y testarudos. 8 Así que voy a hacerte tan persistente y obstinado como ellos. 9 Hago tu cabeza más dura que la piedra, así que no temas ni les tengas miedo. Ya sabes que son gente rebelde.
10 Después me dijo:
— Hijo de hombre, escucha con atención y retén en la memoria todas las palabras que voy a decirte. 11 Luego vete sin falta adonde están los desterrados, tus compatriotas, y se las transmites. Les dirás: “Esto dice el Señor Dios”, te escuchen o no te escuchen.
12 A continuación me arrebató el espíritu y escuché a mis espaldas el ruido de un gran terremoto, al tiempo que se elevaba la gloria del Señor del lugar donde estaba. 13 Era el ruido causado por las alas de los seres vivientes, al golpear una contra otra, el chirrido de las ruedas al rozar y el estruendo de un gran terremoto. 14 El espíritu me arrebató y me transportó; yo me dejé llevar enardecido, mientras el Señor dejaba sentir la fuerza de su mano sobre mí. 15 Así llegué a Tel Abib, donde estaban instalados los desterrados a orillas del río Quebar; y me quedé con ellos, aturdido, durante siete días.
I.— ORÁCULOS CONTRA JERUSALÉN Y SUS HABITANTES (3,16—24,27)
Ezequiel, centinela de Israel
16 Cuando pasaron los siete días, el Señor me dirigió la palabra:
17 — Hijo de hombre, te convierto en vigía de Israel. Cuando me oigas hablar, les darás la alarma de mi parte. 18 Si yo dicto sentencia de muerte contra el malvado y tú no lo pones sobre aviso instándolo a que abandone su mala conducta, para que pueda así seguir con vida, el malvado morirá por su culpa, pero a ti te pediré cuentas de su vida. 19 En cambio, si pones sobre aviso al malvado pero no se convierte de su mala conducta, él morirá por su culpa, pero tú habrás salvado tu vida. 20 Si una persona honrada se desvía de su honradez y comete algo malo, haré que tropiece y morirá; como tú no le has puesto en guardia, morirá por su pecado y su honradez no será tenida en cuenta, pero a ti te pediré cuentas de su vida. 21 Pero si pones sobre aviso al honrado diciéndole que no peque, y en efecto no peca, vivirá por haber sido puesto sobre aviso, y además tú habrás salvado tu vida.
El profeta privado de la palabra
22 Sentí sobre mí la mano del Señor, que me dijo:
— Vete de inmediato a la llanura, que voy a hablarte allí.
23 Me puse inmediatamente en marcha hacia la llanura, y allí estaba la gloria del Señor (era la gloria que había visto a orillas del río Quebar). Al verla, caí rostro en tierra. 24 El espíritu penetró en mí y me puso de pie; a continuación me habló así:
— Vete y enciérrate en tu casa. 25 Ten en cuenta que usarán cuerdas para atarte, y que no podrás soltarte. 26 Voy a pegarte la lengua al paladar, y quedarás mudo; así no podrás recriminarles nada (ya sabes que son gente rebelde). 27 Cuando yo te hable, abriré tu boca para que les anuncies: “Esto dice el Señor Dios”; el que quiera escuchar, que escuche; y el que no quiera, que no escuche. Ya te he dicho que son gente rebelde.
