葡萄树的比喻
15 耶和华对我说： 2 “人子啊，葡萄木比林中其他木材更好吗？ 3 葡萄木有什么用呢？能用它制造挂钩挂东西吗？ 4 它只能用来当柴烧。如果火已经烧了它的两头，中间也烧黑了，它还有什么用呢？ 5 它完好无损的时候，尚且不能用来制造工具，被火烧后岂不更没用了吗？ 6 所以，主耶和华说，我怎样把林中的葡萄树丢在火中当柴烧，也必照样丢弃耶路撒冷的居民。 7 我必严惩他们。他们纵然火里逃生，仍要被火烧灭。我严惩他们的时候，他们便知道我是耶和华。 8 我必使他们的土地荒凉，因为他们对我不忠。这是主耶和华说的。”

Modern English Version
Jerusalem as a Useless Vine
15 And the word of the Lord came to me, saying: 2 Son of man, how is the wood of the vine tree better than any wood of a branch which is among the trees of the forest? 3 Can wood be taken from it to do any work, or can men take a peg of it to hang any vessel on it? 4 If it has been cast into the fire for fuel and the fire has devoured both ends of it and the middle of it is burned, is it useful for any work? 5 When it was whole, it was not made into anything. How much less is it useful for any work when the fire has devoured it and it is burned!
6 Therefore thus says the Lord God: As the wood of the vine tree among the trees of the forest, which I have given to the fire for fuel, so I will give the inhabitants of Jerusalem. 7 I will set My face against them. Though they go out from one fire, yet the fire shall devour them. Then you shall know that I am the Lord when I set My face against them. 8 I will make the land desolate, because they have committed a trespass, says the Lord God.

15 Mi fu rivolta questa parola del Signore: 2 «Figlio dell'uomo, che pregi ha il legno della vite di fronte a tutti gli altri legni della foresta?
3 Si adopera forse quel legno per farne un oggetto?
Ci si fa forse un piolo per attaccarci qualcosa?
4 Ecco, lo si getta sul fuoco a bruciare,
il fuoco ne divora i due capi
e anche il centro è bruciacchiato.
Potrà essere utile a qualche lavoro?
5 Anche quand'era intatto,
non serviva a niente:
ora, dopo che il fuoco lo ha divorato,
l'ha bruciato,
ci si ricaverà forse qualcosa?
6 Perciò così dice il Signore Dio:
Come il legno della vite
fra i legnami della foresta
io l'ho messo sul fuoco a bruciare,
così tratterò gli abitanti di Gerusalemme.
7 Volgerò contro di loro la faccia.
Da un fuoco sono scampati,
ma un fuoco li divorerà!
Allora saprete che io sono il Signore
quando volgerò contro di loro la faccia
8 e renderò il paese deserto,
poiché sono stati infedeli»,
dice il Signore Dio.
