1 第三十年四月五日，我正在迦巴魯河邊的時候，天開了，我就看見 神的異象；那時，我是在被擄的人中間。 2 （當天是約雅斤王被擄後第五年四月五日。 3 在迦勒底人的地方，迦巴魯河邊，耶和華的話確實臨到布西的兒子以西結祭司。耶和華的手在那裡臨到他身上。）
四個活物
4 我觀望，看見有狂風從北方颳來，並有一塊閃耀著火燄的很大的雲，雲的周圍有光芒，在雲中的火燄裡，好像有發光的金屬。 5 在火中又有四個活物的形狀，牠們的樣子是這樣：牠們都有人的形狀。 6 牠們各有四個臉孔、四個翅膀。 7 牠們的腿是直的，腳掌像牛犢的蹄，都很燦爛，像擦亮了的銅。 8 在牠們四邊的翅膀下都有人的手。牠們四個活物的臉孔和翅膀是這樣的： 9 牠們的翅膀互相接觸，走動的時候，不必轉身，都是朝著臉孔的方向行走。 10 至於牠們臉孔的形狀，四個活物都各有一個人的臉孔，在右邊各有一個獅子的臉孔，在左邊各有一個牛的臉孔，此外各有一個鷹的臉孔； 11 牠們的臉孔就是這樣。牠們向上展開翅膀，各自用兩個翅膀互相接觸，用兩個翅膀遮蔽身體。 12 牠們都是朝著臉孔的方向行走。靈往哪裡去，牠們就往哪裡去。牠們走動的時候，都不必轉身。 13 至於四個活物的形狀，樣子像燒著的火炭，又像火把。火在四活物中間到處閃耀。這火很明亮，有閃電從火中發出。 14 四個活物往來奔走，好像閃電。
四個輪子
15 我觀看那些活物的時候，看見四個活物的旁邊都有一個觸地的輪子。 16 四個輪子的樣子與構造都是一個形狀，它們好像閃耀的水蒼玉，又好像輪子套著輪子。 17 輪子可以向四方移動，移動的時候，不必轉向。 18 輪輞很高，十分可畏，四個輪輞都布滿了眼睛。 19 活物走動的時候，牠們旁邊的輪子也隨著移動。活物從地上升起的時候，輪子也隨著升起。 20 靈往哪裡去，活物就往哪裡去，輪子也隨著牠們升起，因為活物的靈是在輪子裡面。 21 活物走動，輪子也隨著移動；活物站著不動，輪子也不動；活物從地上升起，輪子也隨著升起，因為活物的靈是在輪子裡面。
22 在活物的頭頂上面，有穹蒼的形狀，好像閃耀的水晶，十分可畏，在活物的頭頂上面張開。 23 在穹蒼下面，活物的翅膀伸直張開，互相接觸；各自用兩個翅膀遮蔽身體。 24 活物走動的時候，我聽見牠們翅膀的響聲，像洪水的聲音，也像全能者的聲音，又像軍隊喧嚷的聲音。牠們站著不動的時候，翅膀就垂下來。 25 有聲音從牠們頭頂上面的穹蒼發出來；牠們站著不動的時候，翅膀就垂下來。
耶和華的榮光
26 在牠們頭頂的穹蒼上面，有寶座的形狀，好像藍寶石的樣子。在寶座的形象上面，有一個樣子像人的形象。 27 我看見在那仿佛是他腰部以上，好像閃耀的金屬，又好像有火四面包圍。在那仿佛是他腰部以下，我又看見好像有火，光芒環繞著他。 28 下雨的日子，雲中彩虹的樣子怎樣，環繞他的光芒的樣子也怎樣。這就是耶和華榮耀的形狀的樣子。我一看見，就俯伏在地上，跟著聽見有說話的聲音。

1 Now it came to pass in the thirtieth year, in the fourth month, in the fifth day of the month, while I was among those of the Golus by the Nahar Kevar, that Shomayim was opened, and I saw mar’ot Elohim.
2 In the fifth day of the month, which was the fifth year of the Golus of HaMelech Yoyakhin [593 B.C.E.},
3 The Devar Hashem came expressly unto Yechezkel the kohen, ben Buzi, in Eretz Kasdim (Chaldeans) by the Nahar Kevar; and the Yad Hashem was there upon him.
4 And I looked, and, hinei, a ruach se’arah came out of the tzafon, an anan gadol, and flashing fire, with brilliant light all about it, and out of the midst thereof something gleaming, shining out of the midst of the eish.
5 Also out of the midst thereof came the demut (likeness) of four Chayos. And this was their appearance: they had the demut adam.
6 And every one had arba’ah panim, and every one had arba kenafayim.
7 And their regalim were regel yesharah; and the sole of their feet was like the sole of a regel egel; and they gleamed like the shining of burnished nechoshet.
8 And they had the hands of an adam under their kenafayim on their four sides; and they four had their panim and their kenafayim.
9 Their kenafayim were joined one to another; they turned not as they went; they went every one face forward.
10 As for the demut of their panim, they four had the face of an adam, and the face of an aryeh, on the right side; and they four had the face of a shor on the left side; they four also had the face of a nesher.
11 Thus were their panim; and their kenafayim were stretched upward; two wings of every one were joined one to another, and two covered their geviyot.
12 And they went every one face forward; whither the Ruach was to go, they went; and they turned not when they went.
13 As for the demut of the Chayos, their appearance was like coals of eish burning, and like the appearance of lapidim (torches); it spread back and forth among the Chayos; and the eish was brilliant, and out of the eish went forth barak (lightning).
14 And the Chayos ran and returned as the appearance of bazak (a flash of lightning).
15 Now as I beheld the Chayos, hinei there was one Ofan ba’aretz etzel the Chayos, with its four panim.
16 The appearance of the Ofanim and their making was like unto the color of tarshish; and they four had one demut; and their appearance and their making was as it were an Ofan within an Ofan.
17 Arba’at (four) sidedly they went; and they turned not as they went.
18 As for their rims, they were so high that they were dreadful; and their rims were mele’ot einayim saviv (full of eyes round about) the four of them.
19 And when the Chayos went, the Ofanim went beside them; and when the Chayos were lifted up from ha’aretz, the Ofanim were lifted up.
20 Whithersoever the Ruach was to go, they went, thither was the Ruach to go; and the Ofanim were lifted facing them; for Ruach HaChayah was in the Ofanim.
21 When those went, these went; and when those stood still, these stood still; and when those were lifted up from ha’aretz, the Ofanim were lifted up facing them; for the Ruach HaChayah was in the Ofanim.
22 And the demut of the raki’a upon the rashei HaChayah was as the color of terrible ice crystal, spread out upward above their rashim.
23 And under the raki’a were their kenafayim stretched out, the one toward the other; every one had two, which covered on this side, and every one had two, which covered on that side, their geviyot.
24 And when they went, I heard the kol of their kenafayim, like the kol of mayim rabbim, as the Kol Shaddai, the voice of a tumult, as the sound of a machaneh; when they stood still, they let down their kenafayim.
25 And there was a kol (voice) from the raki’a that was over their rosh, when they stood still, and had let down their kenafayim.
26 And above the raki’a that was over their rosh was the demut kisse, as the appearance of a precious stone, a sapphire; and upon the demut hakisse was the demut like the appearance of adam above upon it.
27 And I saw something gleaming, shining out like the appearance of eish; inside it all around, from the appearance of his loins even upward, and from the appearance of his loins even downward, I saw something like the appearance of eish, and it had radiance all around.
28 As the appearance of the keshet (rainbow) that is in the anan in yom hageshem, so was the appearance of the radiance all around. This was the appearance of the demut Kavod Hashem. And when I saw it, I fell upon my face, and I heard a voice of one that spoke.

1 En el año treinta, al quinto día del mes cuarto, estando yo entre los desterrados junto al río Quebar, los cielos se abrieron y contemplé visiones de Dios(A).
2 (En aquel día cinco del mes, en el año quinto del destierro del rey Joaquín(B), 3 la palabra del Señor fue dirigida al sacerdote Ezequiel(C), hijo de Buzi, en la tierra de los caldeos(D) junto al río Quebar, y allí vino sobre él la mano del Señor(E)).
4 Mientras miraba, vi que venía del norte un viento huracanado, una gran nube con fuego fulgurante(F) y un resplandor a su alrededor. En su centro había algo como un metal refulgente en medio del fuego(G). 5 También en su centro vi figuras semejantes a cuatro seres vivientes(H). Y este era su aspecto: tenían forma humana(I). 6 Cada uno de ellos tenía cuatro caras y cuatro alas(J). 7 Sus piernas eran rectas, y la planta de sus pies era como la planta de la pezuña del ternero, y brillaban como bronce bruñido(K). 8 Bajo sus alas, a sus cuatro lados(L), tenían manos humanas. Los cuatro tenían caras y alas(M). 9 Sus alas se tocaban una a la otra y sus caras no se volvían cuando andaban(N). Cada uno iba de frente hacia adelante(O).
10 La forma de sus caras era como la cara de un hombre(P); los cuatro tenían cara de león a la derecha y cara de toro a la izquierda; y los cuatro tenían cara de águila(Q). 11 Así eran sus caras. Sus alas se extendían por encima; con dos se tocaban entre sí y con dos cubrían su cuerpo(R). 12 Cada uno iba de frente hacia adelante; adondequiera que iba el espíritu, iban ellos, sin volverse cuando andaban(S). 13 En medio de los seres vivientes había algo que parecía carbones encendidos en llamas, eran como antorchas que se lanzaban de un lado a otro entre los seres vivientes. El fuego resplandecía, y del fuego salían rayos(T). 14 Y los seres vivientes corrían de un lado a otro(U) como el fulgor[a] del relámpago(V).
15 (W)Miré a los seres vivientes, y vi que había una rueda en la tierra junto a cada uno de los seres vivientes de cuatro caras. 16 El aspecto de las ruedas y su hechura era como el brillo del crisólito[b](X), y las cuatro tenían la misma forma; su aspecto y su hechura eran como si una rueda estuviera dentro de la otra rueda(Y). 17 Cuando andaban, se movían en las cuatro direcciones, sin volverse cuando andaban(Z). 18 Sus aros eran altos e imponentes, y los aros de las cuatro ruedas estaban llenos de ojos alrededor(AA). 19 Cuando los seres vivientes andaban, las ruedas se movían con ellos. Y cuando los seres vivientes se levantaban de la tierra, las ruedas también se levantaban(AB). 20 Adondequiera que iba el espíritu, iban ellos en esa dirección[c]. Y las ruedas se levantaban junto con ellos(AC); porque el espíritu de los seres vivientes estaba en las ruedas. 21 Cuando los seres andaban, andaban ellas, y cuando ellos se detenían, se detenían ellas. Y cuando ellos se levantaban de la tierra, las ruedas se levantaban junto con ellos, porque el espíritu de los seres vivientes estaba en las ruedas(AD).
22 Sobre las cabezas de los seres vivientes había algo semejante a un firmamento con el brillo deslumbrante de un cristal, extendido por encima de sus cabezas(AE). 23 Debajo del firmamento sus alas se extendían derechas, la una hacia la otra; cada uno tenía dos que cubrían sus cuerpos(AF) por un lado y por el otro. 24 Y oí el ruido de sus alas cuando andaban, como el estruendo de muchas aguas(AG), como la voz del Todopoderoso[d](AH), un ruido de tumulto como el ruido de un campamento militar(AI). Cada vez que se detenían, bajaban sus alas. 25 También hubo un ruido por encima del firmamento que había sobre sus cabezas(AJ). Cada vez que se detenían, bajaban sus alas.
26 Sobre el firmamento que estaba por encima de sus cabezas(AK) había algo semejante a un trono(AL), de aspecto como de piedra de zafiro(AM); y en lo que se asemejaba a un trono, sobre él, en lo más alto, había una figura con apariencia de hombre(AN). 27 Entonces observé que en lo que parecían Sus lomos y hacia arriba, había algo como metal refulgente que lucía como fuego dentro de ella en derredor, y en lo que parecían Sus lomos y hacia abajo vi algo como fuego, y un resplandor a Su alrededor(AO). 28 Como el aspecto del arco iris que aparece en las nubes en un día lluvioso, así era el aspecto del resplandor en derredor(AP). Tal era el aspecto de la semejanza de la gloria del Señor(AQ). Cuando lo vi, caí rostro en tierra y oí una voz que hablaba(AR).

1 In the thirtieth year on the fifth day of the fourth month, as I was among the exiles by the river Chebar, the heavens opened, and I saw visions of God. 2 In the fifth day of the month, which was the fifth year of King Jehoiachin’s captivity, 3 the word of Adonai came to Ezekiel the kohen, son of Buzi, in the land of the Chaldeans by the river Chebar. (The hand of Adonai was upon him there.)
Vision of Supernatural Beings
4 I looked, and behold, a storm wind came from the north, a great cloud with flashing fire and brightness all around it, and something like a glowing alloy[a] out of the fire. 5 From within it came the likeness of four living creatures. This was their appearance: they had a likeness of a human, 6 but each one had four faces and each one of them had four wings. 7 Their legs were straight and the soles of their feet were like the hoof of a calf. They sparkled like the color of burnished bronze. 8 They had human hands under their wings on their four sides. The four of them had faces and wings: 9 their wings touched one another; they did not turn when they moved; each could move in the direction of any of its faces. 10 As for the form of their faces, each had a human face, the four had the face of a lion on the right side, the four had the face of an ox on the left side and the four had the face of an eagle. 11 Such were their faces. Their wings were spread out above. Each creature had two wings touching the wing of another, while another two were covering their bodies. 12 Now each being could move in the direction of any of its faces; wherever the Ruach would go, they went, without turning as they went.
13 As for the form of the living creatures, their appearance was like burning coals of fire, resembling torches moving between the living creatures. There was brightness to the fire, and lightning went forth from the fire. 14 The living creatures were running back and forth like flashes of lightning. 15 As I looked at the living creatures, behold, one wheel was on the ground next to each of the four-faced creatures. 16 The appearance and structure of the wheels was like the gleaming of beryl. The four had the same likeness, their appearance and their structure seemed to be a wheel within a wheel.
17 When they went, they went in any of their four directions without pivoting as they went. 18 Their rims were high and awesome—all four rims were full of eyes all around. 19 When the living creatures went, the wheels went beside them. When the living creatures rose from the earth, the wheels rose. 20 Wherever the Ruach wanted to go, they went, in the direction the Ruach wanted to go. The wheels rose along with them, for the spirit of the living creatures was in the wheels. 21 Whenever the creatures went, the wheels went. When the creatures stood still, these wheels stood still. When the creatures rose from the earth, the wheels rose with them, for the spirit of the living creatures was in the wheels.
22 Now over the heads of the living creatures there was something like an expanse, shining like the color of ice, stretched forth over their heads. 23 Under the expanse, their wings were stretched out straight, one toward the other. Each had another pair covering its body.
24 When they moved, I could hear the sound of their wings like the sound of rushing waters, like the voice of Shaddai, a noise of tumult like the noise of an army. Whenever they stood still, they let down their wings. 25 There came a voice from above the expanse over their heads. Whenever they stood still, they let down their wings.
26 Above the expanse over their heads was something like a throne, resembling a sapphire stone. Above the shape of the throne was a figure of human appearance. 27 From what appeared as his waist upward, I saw a glowing metal, looking like a fire encased in a frame. From what was like his waist down, I saw the appearance of fire radiating around him. 28 Like the appearance of the rainbow[b] in the cloud on a rainy day, so was the appearance of the radiance. It was the appearance of the likeness of the glory of Adonai. I saw it, fell upon my face, and heard the voice of the One who was speaking.
