以西結的異象
1 第三十年四月五日，我正在迦巴魯河畔被擄的人當中，忽然天開了，我看見了上帝的異象。 2 那是約雅斤王被擄第五年的四月五日， 3 就在迦勒底人境內的迦巴魯河畔，耶和華的話特別傳給了布西的兒子以西結祭司，耶和華的能力[a]降在他身上。
4 在異象中，我看見一陣狂風從北方颳來，隨後有一大朵雲閃耀著火光，四周環繞著燦爛的光芒，火的中心像發光的金屬。 5 火中有四個像人形的活物， 6 每個活物有四張不同的面孔和四個翅膀。 7 他們的腿是直的，腳如同牛犢的蹄，都亮如磨光的銅。 8 四面的翅膀下都有人的手，四個活物都有臉和翅膀， 9 翅膀彼此相連。他們移動時不必轉身，各朝前面移動。 10 四個活物的面孔是這樣的：正面是人的臉，右面是獅子的臉，左面是牛的臉，後面是鷹的臉。 11 他們的翅膀向上展開，每個活物的一對翅膀與其他活物的翅膀相連，另外一對翅膀遮蔽身體。 12 耶和華的靈往哪裡去，他們也往哪裡去，移動時不用轉身。 13 四個活物的形像如燃燒的火炭，又像火把。活物之間有火上下移動，發出耀眼的閃電。 14 這些活物像閃電一樣往來飛馳。
15 當我觀看這些活物的時候，發現每個活物旁邊的地上都有一個輪子。 16 四個輪子的形狀和結構都一樣，好像輪套輪，如同閃耀的綠寶石。 17 他們可以向四面移動，移動時輪子不必轉向。 18 輪圈高而可畏，周圍佈滿了眼睛。 19 活物行走，輪子也在旁邊行走；活物上升，輪子也上升。 20 靈往哪裡去，活物也往哪裡去，輪子也跟著往哪裡去，因為活物的靈在輪子裡。 21 活物行走，輪子也行走；活物站立不動，輪子也站立不動；活物上升，輪子也跟著上升，因為活物的靈在輪子裡。
22 活物的頭上好像鋪展著茫茫的穹蒼，如同頂著耀眼的水晶。 23 穹蒼下四個活物伸展翅膀，彼此相對，各用兩個翅膀遮蔽身體。 24 他們移動時，翅膀發出的響聲如洪濤之聲，既像全能者的聲音，又像軍隊的呐喊。活物站住的時候，便將翅膀垂下。 25 他們站立垂下翅膀時，有聲音從他們頭頂的穹蒼之上傳來。
26 在他們頭頂的穹蒼之上彷彿有藍寶石的寶座，有一位形狀像人的高高坐在寶座上。 27 我看到祂的腰部以上好像燒紅發亮的金屬，好像有火四面環繞。腰部以下如同火焰。祂周圍有耀眼的光輝， 28 彷彿雨天雲中的彩虹。
這是耶和華榮耀的形像。我一看見，便俯伏在地，隨後聽見有說話的聲音。

Ezekiel’s Vision of Living Creatures
1 It was the thirtieth year, on the fifth day of the fourth month [C of Ezekiel’s life, or of Nabopolassar’s reign, or since King Josiah’s reforms]. I was by the Kebar ·River [Canal; C a branch of the Euphrates River south of Babylon] among the ·people who had been carried away as captives [exiles]. The ·sky [heavens] opened, and I saw visions of God.
2 It was the fifth day of the month of the fifth year that King Jehoiachin had been ·a prisoner [in exile/captivity; C 593 bc; 2 Kin. 24:12, 15]. 3 The ·Lord spoke his word [L word of the Lord came] to Ezekiel son of Buzi in the land of the Babylonians by the Kebar ·River [Canal; 1:1]. There ·he felt the power of the Lord [L the hand of the Lord was on him].
4 When I looked, I saw a ·stormy wind [windstorm] coming from the north [C storms often represent the presence of God; Jer. 23:19]. There was a great cloud with ·a bright light [or lightning flashing] around it and ·fire flashing out of [or brightness all around] it. Something that looked like glowing ·metal [or amber] was in the center of the fire. 5 Inside ·the cloud [or the fire; L its midst] was what looked like four living creatures [Rev. 4:6–8], who ·were shaped like [had the appearance of] humans, 6 but each of them had four faces and four wings. 7 Their legs were straight. Their feet were like a calf’s hoofs and ·sparkled [gleamed] like ·polished [burnished] bronze [Rev. 1:15]. 8 The living creatures had human hands under their wings on their four sides. All four of them had faces and wings, 9 and their wings touched each other. The living creatures did not turn when they moved, but each went straight ahead.
10 Their faces looked like this: Each living creature had ·a human face [or the face of a man] and the face of a lion on the right side and the face of an ox on the left side. And each one also had the face of an eagle. 11 That was what their faces looked like. Their wings were spread out above. Each had two wings that touched one of the other living creatures and two wings that covered its body. 12 Each went straight ahead. Wherever the ·spirit [or wind] would go, the living creatures would also go, without turning. 13 The living creatures looked like burning coals of fire or like torches. Fire went back and forth among the living creatures. It was ·bright [radiant], and lightning flashed from it. 14 The living creatures ·ran [darted] back and forth like ·bolts [flashes] of lightning.
15 Now as I looked at the living creatures, I saw a wheel on the ground by each of the living creatures with its four faces. 16 The wheels and ·the way they were made [their construction/structure] ·were like this [had this appearance]: They looked like sparkling ·chrysolite [or topaz; or beryl]. All four of them looked the same, like one wheel ·crossways inside [L in the middle of] another wheel. 17 When they moved, they went in any one of the four directions, without turning as they went. 18 The rims of the wheels were high and ·frightening [or awesome] and were full of eyes all around.
19 When the living creatures moved, the wheels moved beside them. When the living creatures ·were lifted up [rose] from the ground, the wheels also ·were lifted up [rose]. 20 Wherever the ·spirit [or wind] would go, the living creatures would go. And the wheels ·were lifted up [rose] beside them, because the spirit of the living creatures was in the wheels. 21 When the living creatures moved, the wheels moved. When the living creatures stopped, the wheels stopped. And when the living creatures ·were lifted [rose] from the ground, the wheels ·were lifted [rose] beside them, because the spirit of the living creatures was in the wheels.
22 Now, ·over [stretched over] the heads of the living creatures was something like a ·dome [vault; expanse; or platform; Gen. 1:2] that sparkled like ·ice [crystal] and was ·frightening [or awesome]. 23 And under the ·dome [vault; expanse; or platform] the wings of the living creatures were stretched out straight toward one another. Each living creature also had two wings covering its body. 24 I heard the sound of their wings, like the ·roaring sound of the sea [L sound of many waters], as they moved. It was like the voice of ·God Almighty [L the Almighty], a ·roaring sound [tumult] like a noisy army. When the living creatures stopped, they lowered their wings.
25 A voice came from above the ·dome [vault; expanse; or platform] over the heads of the living creatures. When the living creatures stopped, they lowered their wings. 26 Now above the ·dome [vault; expanse; or platform] there was something that looked like a throne. It looked like ·a sapphire gem [or lapis lazuli]. And on the throne high above was a ·shape [form; figure] like a ·human [man]. 27 Then I noticed that from the waist up the shape looked like glowing ·metal [or amber] with fire inside. From the waist down it looked like fire, and a bright light was all around. 28 The surrounding ·glow [radiance; brightness] looked like the rainbow in the clouds on a rainy day. ·It seemed to look like [L This was the appearance of the likeness of] the glory of the Lord [C his manifest presence]. So when I saw it, I ·bowed [fell] facedown on the ground and heard a voice speaking.

4 Vi que del norte venía un fuerte viento de tormenta como una nube encendida con relámpagos por todos lados con una luz ámbar resplandeciente como fuego en su interior. 5 En medio del fuego había algo parecido a cuatro seres vivientes que se veían así: 6 tenían aspecto humano, pero cada uno tenía cuatro caras y cuatro alas. 7 Sus piernas eran rectas y sus pies parecían pezuñas de terneros resplandecientes como bronce bruñido. 8 En los cuatro costados, debajo de las alas, tenían manos humanas. Los cuatro seres vivientes tenían caras y alas, y el ala de uno apenas tocaba el ala de otro. 9 Al avanzar no se volvían, sino que caminaban hacia adelante. 10 La cara de cada uno de ellos tenía el siguiente aspecto: de frente, tenían cara de humano; a la derecha, cara de león; a la izquierda, cara de toro; y por detrás, cara de águila. 11 ¡Y qué caras! Tanto las caras como las alas se desplegaban hacia arriba. 12 Los seres iban a donde fuera el espíritu, sin tener que dar vuelta, yendo en sentido de cualquier cara. 13 Parecían carbones encendidos, como antorchas moviéndose entre ellos. El fuego resplandecía y despedía relámpagos. 14 Con la rapidez de un rayo, los seres vivientes se desplazaban de un lado a otro.
15 Mientras veía a los seres vivientes, noté que una rueda tocaba el suelo junto a cada uno de ellos. 16 Las ruedas estaban colocadas de manera que parecía haber una rueda dentro de la otra. Eran luminosas como el topacio. 17 Las cuatro ruedas podían avanzar en cualquier dirección sin tener que volverse. 18 Estaban cubiertas de joyas majestuosas e impresionantes. 19 Cuando los seres vivientes se movían, las ruedas de su lado también se movían, y cuando los seres vivientes volaban, las ruedas también volaban junto con ellos. 20 Los seres vivientes iban adonde el espíritu los llevaba y las ruedas se elevaban con ellos porque el espíritu de los seres vivientes estaba en las ruedas. 21 Cuando los seres vivientes se movían, las ruedas también se movían. Cuando se detenían, las ruedas también se detenían. Cuando volaban, las ruedas también volaban porque el espíritu de los seres vivientes estaba en las ruedas.
22 Sobre las cabezas de los seres vivientes se extendía algo como una plataforma[b] cristalina. Era impresionante. 23 Debajo de la plataforma los cuatro seres vivientes tenían sus alas extendidas, con el ala de uno apenas tocando el ala de otro. Con las otras dos, cada uno se cubría el cuerpo. 24 Cuando los seres vivientes avanzaban, yo podía oír el ruido de sus alas. Era como el rugir de las aguas del mar, como la voz del Todopoderoso, como el ruido tumultuoso de un campo militar. Cuando se detenían, replegaban sus alas. 25 Luego, cuando estaban parados con sus alas replegadas, se escuchó una voz que venía de la bóveda que estaba sobre sus cabezas. 26 Encima de la plataforma había algo semejante a un trono de zafiro, y sobre lo que parecía ser un trono de zafiro había algo que parecía un ser humano. 27 De la cintura en adelante parecía tener un fuego dentro de algo que se veía como el ámbar, rodeado de un resplandor. De la cintura para abajo, vi algo como un fuego con un resplandor a su alrededor. 28 El resplandor se veía como el arco iris que aparece en las nubes después de la lluvia. Esta imagen era la gloria del SEÑOR. Tan pronto como tuve esta visión, me postré rostro en tierra y oí que una voz me hablaba.
