Esther 7
Tree of Life Version
Esther Intercedes for Her People
7 So the king and Haman came to dine with Queen Esther, 2 and as they were drinking wine on the second day, the king asked Esther again, “Whatever you request, even as much as half of the kingdom, it will be given to you.”
3 So Queen Esther answered, “If I have found favor in the eyes of the king, and if it pleases the king, grant me my life—this is my petition. And spare the life of my people—this is my request! 4 For we have been sold, I and my people, for destruction, slaughter and annihilation. If we had simply been sold as male and female slaves, I would have remained silent, for such distress would not be worth disturbing the king.”
5 King Ahasuerus responded to Queen Esther, “Who is he? Where is the man that presumed to do this?”
6 Esther replied, “The man—the adversary and foe—is this wicked Haman!”
Then Haman was terrified before the king and queen. 7 Enraged, the king got up from the banquet of wine and withdrew to the palace garden. But Haman stayed behind to plead with Queen Esther for his life, for he realized that the king had determined a catastrophic end for him.
8 When the king returned from the palace garden to the banquet hall, Haman was falling on the same couch where Esther was. The king exclaimed, “Will he also assault the queen while she is with me in the palace?”
As soon as these words came out of the king’s mouth, they covered Haman’s face. 9 Harbonah, one of the eunuchs attending the king, said, “Look, a gallows fifty cubits high is standing next to Haman’s house. Haman himself made it for Mordecai, who spoke good on behalf of the king!”[a]
The king said, “Hang him on it!” 10 So they hanged Haman on the gallows that he had prepared for Mordecai. Then the king’s rage subsided.

Haman Is Hanged
7 So the king and Haman went in to eat with Queen Esther. 2 They were drinking wine. And the king said to Esther on this second day also, “What are you asking for? I will give it to you. What is it you want? I will give you as much as half of my kingdom.”
3 Then Queen Esther answered, “My king, I hope you are pleased with me. If it pleases you, let me live. This is what I ask. And let my people live, too. This is what I want. 4 I ask this because my people and I have been sold to be destroyed. We are to be killed and completely wiped out. If we had been sold as male and female slaves, I would have kept quiet. That would not be enough of a problem to bother the king.”
5 Then King Xerxes asked Queen Esther, “Who is he? Where is he? Who has done such a thing?”
6 Esther said, “A man who is against us! Our enemy is this wicked Haman!”
Then Haman was filled with terror before the king and queen. 7 The king was very angry. He got up, left his wine and went out into the palace garden. But Haman stayed inside to beg Queen Esther to save his life. He could see that the king had already decided to kill him.
8 The king came back from the palace garden to the banquet hall. And he saw Haman falling on the couch where Esther was lying. The king said, “Will he even attack the queen while I am in the house?”
As soon as the king said that, servants came in and covered Haman’s face. 9 Harbona was one of the eunuchs there serving the king. He said, “Look, a platform for hanging people stands near Haman’s house. It is 75 feet high. This is the one Haman had prepared for Mordecai, who gave the warning that saved the king.”
The king said, “Hang Haman on it!” 10 So they hanged Haman on the platform he had prepared for Mordecai. Then the king was not so angry anymore.
Estè 7
Haitian Creole Version
7 ¶ Wa a te al nan fèt larenn Estè a ankò ansanm ak Aman.
2 Pandan yo t'ap bwè diven, wa a mande Estè, tankou premye jou a: -Di m' sa ou vle, m'ap ba ou li. Ou te mèt mande m' mwatye nan peyi a, m'ap ba ou li!
3 Estè reponn li: -Si wa a kontan avè m', si se plezi li pou li ban mwen sa m' vle a, tanpri, sove lavi m' ansanm ak lavi pèp mwen an. Se sa ase mwen mande ou.
4 Paske yo vann nou, mwen menm ansanm ak tout pèp mwen an, pou yo ka masakre nou, touye nou, disparèt nou nèt. Men, moun ki pa vle wè nou an p'ap janm ka ranplase pèt l'ap fè ou fè a.
5 Wa Asyeris mande larenn Estè: -Ki moun ki penmèt li gen lide fè bagay konsa? Kote moun lan?
6 Estè reponn li: -Moun ki pa vle wè nou an, moun k'ap pèsekite nou an, se Aman, mechan sa a! Aman dekare, li pran tranble devan wa a ak larenn lan.
7 ¶ Wa a leve bò tab la byen move, li soti deyò al nan jaden palè a. Aman te konnen wa a tapral pini l' pou sa l' fè a. Li rete pou l' mande larenn lan fè pa l'.
8 Aman te fèk panche kò l' sou divan Estè a pou mande l' padon lè wa a tounen antre soti nan jaden an. Lè wa a wè sa, li di: -Koulye a, apa nonm lan soti pou li fè kadejak sou larenn Estè, l'a devan je m', nan mitan lakay mwen an! Wa a poko fin pale, nèg konfyans yo gen tan kouvri tèt Aman.
Poto a gen swasannkenz pye wotè. Wa a bay lòd pou yo pann Aman ladan l'.
