12 哈曼又說：「以斯帖王后預備宴席，除了我之外不許別人隨王赴席。明日王后又請我隨王赴席。 13 只是每當我看見猶太人末底改坐在朝門，這一切對我就都毫無意義了。」 14 他的妻子細利斯和他所有的朋友對他說：「叫人做一個五十肘高的木架，早晨求王把末底改掛在其上，然後你可以歡歡喜喜隨王赴席。」哈曼認為這話很好，就叫人做了木架。

12 “And that’s not all,” Haman added. “I’m the only person(A) Queen Esther invited to accompany the king to the banquet she gave. And she has invited me along with the king tomorrow. 13 But all this gives me no satisfaction as long as I see that Jew Mordecai sitting at the king’s gate.(B)”
14 His wife Zeresh and all his friends said to him, “Have a pole set up, reaching to a height of fifty cubits,[a](C) and ask the king in the morning to have Mordecai impaled(D) on it. Then go with the king to the banquet and enjoy yourself.” This suggestion delighted Haman, and he had the pole set up.
