ฮานันยาห์ผู้พยากรณ์เท็จ
28 ในเดือนที่ห้าปีเดียวกันนั้น ซึ่งเป็นปีที่สี่ของรัชกาลกษัตริย์เศเดคียาห์แห่งยูดาห์ ผู้พยากรณ์ฮานันยาห์บุตรอัสซูร์ซึ่งมาจากกิเบโอน กล่าวกับข้าพเจ้าในพระนิเวศขององค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าต่อหน้าบรรดาปุโรหิตและประชากรทั้งปวงว่า 2 “พระยาห์เวห์ผู้ทรงฤทธิ์ พระเจ้าแห่งอิสราเอลตรัสว่า ‘เราจะหักแอกของกษัตริย์บาบิโลน 3 เราจะนำภาชนะต่างๆ ซึ่งกษัตริย์เนบูคัดเนสซาร์แห่งบาบิโลนริบจากพระนิเวศขององค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าไปไว้ที่บาบิโลนนั้นกลับคืนมาที่นี่ภายในสองปี 4 และเราจะนำเยโฮยาคีนโอรสของกษัตริย์เยโฮยาคิมแห่งยูดาห์ กับบรรดาเชลยจากยูดาห์ซึ่งไปยังบาบิโลนนั้นกลับมาที่นี่อีก เพราะเราจะทำลายแอกของกษัตริย์บาบิโลน’ องค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าประกาศดังนั้น”
5 แล้วผู้เผยพระวจนะเยเรมีย์กล่าวกับฮานันยาห์ต่อหน้าปุโรหิตและประชากรทั้งปวงซึ่งยืนอยู่ในพระนิเวศขององค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้า 6 เขากล่าวว่า “อาเมน! ขอองค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าทรงทำเช่นนั้นเถิด! ขอองค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าทรงโปรดให้เป็นไปตามคำพยากรณ์ของท่าน ที่พระองค์จะทรงนำภาชนะประจำพระวิหารขององค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้า และเชลยทั้งปวงจากบาบิโลนคืนสู่แผ่นดินนี้ 7 แต่ขอจงฟังสิ่งที่ข้าพเจ้าต้องกล่าวให้ท่านและประชาชนทั้งปวงได้ยินคือ 8 ตั้งแต่กาลก่อนบรรดาผู้เผยพระวจนะก่อนหน้าท่านและข้าพเจ้าได้พยากรณ์ถึงสงคราม ภัยพิบัติ และโรคระบาด ซึ่งจะเกิดขึ้นในหลายประเทศและอาณาจักรที่ยิ่งใหญ่ทั้งหลาย 9 แต่ผู้เผยพระวจนะซึ่งพยากรณ์ถึงสันติภาพนั้นจะได้รับการยอมรับว่าเป็นผู้ที่องค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าทรงใช้มาจริงๆ ก็ต่อเมื่อคำพยากรณ์ของเขาเป็นจริง”
10 แล้วผู้เผยพระวจนะฮานันยาห์ จึงปลดแอกจากคอของผู้เผยพระวจนะเยเรมีย์แล้วหักทิ้งเสีย 11 แล้วกล่าวต่อหน้าประชาชนทั้งปวงว่า “องค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าตรัสว่า ‘ในทำนองเดียวกัน เราจะทำลายแอกของกษัตริย์เนบูคัดเนสซาร์แห่งบาบิโลนออกจากคอของบรรดาประชาชาติภายในสองปี’ ” ถึงตอนนี้ผู้เผยพระวจนะเยเรมีย์ก็เดินจากไป
12 ไม่นานหลังจากที่ผู้เผยพระวจนะฮานันยาห์ได้ทำลายแอกจากคอของผู้เผยพระวจนะเยเรมีย์ พระดำรัสขององค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าก็มาถึงเยเรมีย์ว่า 13 “จงไปบอกฮานันยาห์ว่า ‘องค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าตรัสดังนี้ว่า เจ้าหักแอกไม้ออก แต่เจ้าจะได้แอกเหล็กแทน 14 พระยาห์เวห์ผู้ทรงฤทธิ์ พระเจ้าแห่งอิสราเอลตรัสดังนี้ว่า เราจะวางแอกเหล็กบนคอของประชาชาติเหล่านี้ และให้พวกเขาปรนนิบัติรับใช้กษัตริย์เนบูคัดเนสซาร์แห่งบาบิโลน และพวกเขาจะรับใช้เนบูคัดเนสซาร์ แม้แต่สัตว์ป่า เราก็จะทำให้สยบต่อเนบูคัดเนสซาร์ด้วยเช่นกัน’ ”
15 แล้วผู้เผยพระวจนะเยเรมีย์กล่าวแก่ผู้เผยพระวจนะฮานันยาห์ว่า “ฮานันยาห์ จงฟัง! องค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าไม่ได้ใช้ท่านมา แต่ท่านก็ยังโน้มน้าวชนชาตินี้ให้เชื่อคำโกหกพกลม 16 ฉะนั้นองค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าตรัสว่า ‘เราจะกำจัดเจ้าไปจากพื้นโลก เจ้าจะตายในปีนี้ เพราะเจ้าได้สอนให้กบฏต่อองค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้า’ ”
17 ในเดือนที่เจ็ดของปีนั้นเองผู้เผยพระวจนะฮานันยาห์ก็สิ้นชีวิต

5 หลังจากนั้นเยเรมียาห์ผู้พูดแทนพระเจ้าก็พูดกับฮานันยาห์ผู้พูดแทนพระเจ้า ต่อหน้าพวกนักบวช และทุกคนที่ยืนอยู่ในวิหารของพระยาห์เวห์ 6 เยเรมียาห์ผู้พูดแทนพระเจ้าพูดว่า “อาเมน ขอให้เป็นอย่างนั้น ขอให้พระยาห์เวห์ทำเหมือนกับที่ท่านพูดเถอะ ขอให้พระยาห์เวห์ทำให้คำทำนายของท่านเป็นจริง ขอให้พระองค์นำภาชนะที่ใช้ในวิหารของพระองค์ รวมทั้งคนเหล่านั้นทั้งหมดที่ถูกกวาดต้อนไปบาบิโลนกลับมาที่นี่ด้วยเถิด
7 แต่ให้ฟังสิ่งที่ผมกำลังจะพูดกับท่านและกับทุกๆคน 8 เท่าที่ใครต่อใครจำได้ พวกผู้พูดแทนพระเจ้าที่มีชีวิตอยู่ก่อนหน้าผมและท่าน ล้วนแต่พยากรณ์ต่อต้านแผ่นดินทั้งหลายและอาณาจักรที่ยิ่งใหญ่ต่างๆว่า จะเกิดสงคราม ความอดอยากและโรคภัยไข้เจ็บกันทั้งนั้น 9 แต่สำหรับผู้พูดแทนพระเจ้าที่พยากรณ์ว่าจะเกิดความสงบสุขขึ้นนั้น จะต้องคอยให้เรื่องนั้นมันเกิดขึ้นจริงตามที่เขาพูดเสียก่อน คนถึงจะได้รู้ว่าพระยาห์เวห์เป็นผู้ที่ส่งผู้พูดแทนพระเจ้าคนนั้นมาจริงๆ”
10 แล้วฮานันยาห์ผู้พูดแทนพระเจ้า ก็เอาแอกไม้จากคอของเยเรมียาห์ผู้พูดแทนพระเจ้ามาหัก 11 และเขาก็พูดต่อหน้าทุกคนที่นั่นว่า พระยาห์เวห์พูดว่า “เราจะหักแอกของเนบูคัดเนสซาร์ กษัตริย์แห่งบาบิโลน ที่วางไว้บนคอของชนชาติต่างๆให้หมดไปภายในสองปีนี้ เหมือนที่เราได้หักแอกอันนี้” แล้วเยเรมียาห์ก็ไปตามทางของท่าน
12 หลังจากที่ฮานันยาห์ผู้พูดแทนพระเจ้า ได้หักแอกจากคอของเยเรมียาห์ผู้พูดแทนพระเจ้าแล้ว พระคำของพระยาห์เวห์ก็มีมาถึงเยเรมียาห์ว่า 13 “ไปบอกกับฮานันยาห์ว่า พระยาห์เวห์พูดว่า ‘เจ้าหักแอกไม้นั้นแล้วก็จริง แต่เจ้าได้สร้างแอกเหล็กขึ้นมาแทน’” 14 ที่ผมพูดอย่างนี้ก็เพราะพระยาห์เวห์ผู้มีฤทธิ์ทั้งสิ้น พระเจ้าแห่งอิสราเอลพูดว่า “เราได้ใส่แอกเหล็กไว้บนคอของชนชาติเหล่านี้ทั้งหมด เพื่อทำให้พวกมันรับใช้กษัตริย์เนบูคัดเนสซาร์แห่งบาบิโลน และพวกมันก็จะเป็นทาสรับใช้เขา นอกจากนั้นแล้ว เรายังได้มอบพวกสัตว์ป่าให้กับเขาด้วย”
15 แล้วเยเรมียาห์ผู้พูดแทนพระเจ้าก็พูดกับฮานันยาห์ผู้พูดแทนพระเจ้าว่า “ฟังนะ ฮานันยาห์ พระยาห์เวห์ไม่ได้ส่งเจ้ามา แถมเจ้ายังทำให้คนพวกนี้หลงเชื่อในสิ่งที่ผิดๆเสียอีก 16 ดังนั้น พระยาห์เวห์จึงพูดว่าอย่างนี้ ‘เราจะขับไล่เจ้าออกไปจากแผ่นดินนี้ เจ้าจะต้องตายในปีนี้ เพราะเจ้าได้พูดขัดกับพระยาห์เวห์’”
17 แล้วฮานันยาห์ผู้พูดแทนพระเจ้าก็ตายในเดือนที่เจ็ดของปีนั้น

The False Prophet Hananiah
28 In the fifth month of that same year, the fourth year, early in the reign of Zedekiah(A) king of Judah, the prophet Hananiah son of Azzur, who was from Gibeon,(B) said to me in the house of the Lord in the presence of the priests and all the people: 2 “This is what the Lord Almighty, the God of Israel, says: ‘I will break the yoke(C) of the king of Babylon. 3 Within two years I will bring back to this place all the articles(D) of the Lord’s house that Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon removed from here and took to Babylon. 4 I will also bring back to this place Jehoiachin[a](E) son of Jehoiakim king of Judah and all the other exiles from Judah who went to Babylon,’ declares the Lord, ‘for I will break the yoke of the king of Babylon.’”(F)
5 Then the prophet Jeremiah replied to the prophet Hananiah before the priests and all the people who were standing in the house of the Lord. 6 He said, “Amen! May the Lord do so! May the Lord fulfill the words you have prophesied by bringing the articles of the Lord’s house and all the exiles back to this place from Babylon.(G) 7 Nevertheless, listen to what I have to say in your hearing and in the hearing of all the people: 8 From early times the prophets who preceded you and me have prophesied war, disaster and plague(H) against many countries and great kingdoms. 9 But the prophet who prophesies peace will be recognized as one truly sent by the Lord only if his prediction comes true.(I)”
10 Then the prophet Hananiah took the yoke(J) off the neck of the prophet Jeremiah and broke it, 11 and he said(K) before all the people, “This is what the Lord says: ‘In the same way I will break the yoke of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon off the neck of all the nations within two years.’” At this, the prophet Jeremiah went on his way.
12 After the prophet Hananiah had broken the yoke off the neck of the prophet Jeremiah, the word of the Lord came to Jeremiah: 13 “Go and tell Hananiah, ‘This is what the Lord says: You have broken a wooden yoke, but in its place you will get a yoke of iron. 14 This is what the Lord Almighty, the God of Israel, says: I will put an iron yoke(L) on the necks of all these nations to make them serve(M) Nebuchadnezzar(N) king of Babylon, and they will serve him. I will even give him control over the wild animals.(O)’”
15 Then the prophet Jeremiah said to Hananiah the prophet, “Listen, Hananiah! The Lord has not sent(P) you, yet you have persuaded this nation to trust in lies.(Q) 16 Therefore this is what the Lord says: ‘I am about to remove you from the face of the earth.(R) This very year you are going to die,(S) because you have preached rebellion(T) against the Lord.’”
17 In the seventh month of that same year, Hananiah the prophet died.(U)

2 Thus speaketh the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel, saying, I have broken the yoke of the king of Babylon.
3 Within two full years will I bring again into this place all the vessels of the Lord's house, that Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon took away from this place, and carried them to Babylon:
4 And I will bring again to this place Jeconiah the son of Jehoiakim king of Judah, with all the captives of Judah, that went into Babylon, saith the Lord: for I will break the yoke of the king of Babylon.
5 Then the prophet Jeremiah said unto the prophet Hananiah in the presence of the priests, and in the presence of all the people that stood in the house of the Lord,
6 Even the prophet Jeremiah said, Amen: the Lord do so: the Lord perform thy words which thou hast prophesied, to bring again the vessels of the Lord's house, and all that is carried away captive, from Babylon into this place.
7 Nevertheless hear thou now this word that I speak in thine ears, and in the ears of all the people;
8 The prophets that have been before me and before thee of old prophesied both against many countries, and against great kingdoms, of war, and of evil, and of pestilence.
9 The prophet which prophesieth of peace, when the word of the prophet shall come to pass, then shall the prophet be known, that the Lord hath truly sent him.
10 Then Hananiah the prophet took the yoke from off the prophet Jeremiah's neck, and brake it.
11 And Hananiah spake in the presence of all the people, saying, Thus saith the Lord; Even so will I break the yoke of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon from the neck of all nations within the space of two full years. And the prophet Jeremiah went his way.
12 Then the word of the Lord came unto Jeremiah the prophet, after that Hananiah the prophet had broken the yoke from off the neck of the prophet Jeremiah, saying,
13 Go and tell Hananiah, saying, Thus saith the Lord; Thou hast broken the yokes of wood; but thou shalt make for them yokes of iron.
14 For thus saith the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel; I have put a yoke of iron upon the neck of all these nations, that they may serve Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon; and they shall serve him: and I have given him the beasts of the field also.
15 Then said the prophet Jeremiah unto Hananiah the prophet, Hear now, Hananiah; The Lord hath not sent thee; but thou makest this people to trust in a lie.
16 Therefore thus saith the Lord; Behold, I will cast thee from off the face of the earth: this year thou shalt die, because thou hast taught rebellion against the Lord.
17 So Hananiah the prophet died the same year in the seventh month.
