Psalm 106
King James Version
106 Praise ye the Lord. O give thanks unto the Lord; for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever.
2 Who can utter the mighty acts of the Lord? who can shew forth all his praise?
3 Blessed are they that keep judgment, and he that doeth righteousness at all times.
4 Remember me, O Lord, with the favour that thou bearest unto thy people: O visit me with thy salvation;
5 That I may see the good of thy chosen, that I may rejoice in the gladness of thy nation, that I may glory with thine inheritance.
6 We have sinned with our fathers, we have committed iniquity, we have done wickedly.
7 Our fathers understood not thy wonders in Egypt; they remembered not the multitude of thy mercies; but provoked him at the sea, even at the Red sea.
8 Nevertheless he saved them for his name's sake, that he might make his mighty power to be known.
9 He rebuked the Red sea also, and it was dried up: so he led them through the depths, as through the wilderness.
10 And he saved them from the hand of him that hated them, and redeemed them from the hand of the enemy.
11 And the waters covered their enemies: there was not one of them left.
12 Then believed they his words; they sang his praise.
13 They soon forgat his works; they waited not for his counsel:
14 But lusted exceedingly in the wilderness, and tempted God in the desert.
15 And he gave them their request; but sent leanness into their soul.
16 They envied Moses also in the camp, and Aaron the saint of the Lord.
17 The earth opened and swallowed up Dathan and covered the company of Abiram.
18 And a fire was kindled in their company; the flame burned up the wicked.
19 They made a calf in Horeb, and worshipped the molten image.
20 Thus they changed their glory into the similitude of an ox that eateth grass.
21 They forgat God their saviour, which had done great things in Egypt;
22 Wondrous works in the land of Ham, and terrible things by the Red sea.
23 Therefore he said that he would destroy them, had not Moses his chosen stood before him in the breach, to turn away his wrath, lest he should destroy them.
24 Yea, they despised the pleasant land, they believed not his word:
25 But murmured in their tents, and hearkened not unto the voice of the Lord.
26 Therefore he lifted up his hand against them, to overthrow them in the wilderness:
27 To overthrow their seed also among the nations, and to scatter them in the lands.
28 They joined themselves also unto Baalpeor, and ate the sacrifices of the dead.
29 Thus they provoked him to anger with their inventions: and the plague brake in upon them.
30 Then stood up Phinehas, and executed judgment: and so the plague was stayed.
31 And that was counted unto him for righteousness unto all generations for evermore.
32 They angered him also at the waters of strife, so that it went ill with Moses for their sakes:
33 Because they provoked his spirit, so that he spake unadvisedly with his lips.
34 They did not destroy the nations, concerning whom the Lord commanded them:
35 But were mingled among the heathen, and learned their works.
36 And they served their idols: which were a snare unto them.
37 Yea, they sacrificed their sons and their daughters unto devils,
38 And shed innocent blood, even the blood of their sons and of their daughters, whom they sacrificed unto the idols of Canaan: and the land was polluted with blood.
39 Thus were they defiled with their own works, and went a whoring with their own inventions.
40 Therefore was the wrath of the Lord kindled against his people, insomuch that he abhorred his own inheritance.
41 And he gave them into the hand of the heathen; and they that hated them ruled over them.
42 Their enemies also oppressed them, and they were brought into subjection under their hand.
43 Many times did he deliver them; but they provoked him with their counsel, and were brought low for their iniquity.
44 Nevertheless he regarded their affliction, when he heard their cry:
45 And he remembered for them his covenant, and repented according to the multitude of his mercies.
46 He made them also to be pitied of all those that carried them captives.
47 Save us, O Lord our God, and gather us from among the heathen, to give thanks unto thy holy name, and to triumph in thy praise.
48 Blessed be the Lord God of Israel from everlasting to everlasting: and let all the people say, Amen. Praise ye the Lord.

Joy in Forgiveness of Israel’s Sins
106 Praise[a] the Lord!
(A)Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good!
For His mercy endures forever.
2 Who can [b]utter the mighty acts of the Lord?
Who can declare all His praise?
3 Blessed are those who keep justice,
And [c]he who (B)does righteousness at (C)all times!
4 (D)Remember me, O Lord, with the favor You have toward Your people.
Oh, visit me with Your salvation,
5 That I may see the benefit of Your chosen ones,
That I may rejoice in the gladness of Your nation,
That I may glory with [d]Your inheritance.
6 (E)We have sinned with our fathers,
We have committed iniquity,
We have done wickedly.
7 Our fathers in Egypt did not understand Your wonders;
They did not remember the multitude of Your mercies,
(F)But rebelled by the sea—the Red Sea.

And to scatter them in the lands.

To triumph in Your praise.

From everlasting to everlasting!

106 Halleluja!
Prisa Herren, för han är god.
Hans nåd varar i evighet.
2 Vem kan räkna upp Herrens väldiga gärningar,
förkunna allt hans lov?
3 Lyckliga är de som bevarar det som är rätt
och alltid gör det rättfärdiga.
4 Tänk på mig, Herre,
när du visar välvilja mot ditt folk!
Kom till min hjälp med din räddning!
5 Låt mig få se det goda hos dina utvalda
och dela ditt folks glädje,
prisa dig tillsammans med dem
som är din egendom.
6 Vi har syndat liksom våra fäder,
vi har handlat fel och gjort det onda.
7 Våra fäder i Egypten förstod inte Herrens under.
De glömde hans nådegärningar
och gjorde uppror vid Sävhavet.
8 Ändå räddade han dem för sitt namns skull
för att göra sin makt känd.
9 Han riktade sin befallning mot Sävhavet, och det blev torrt.
Han ledde dem genom djupen som genom en öken.
10 Han räddade dem från dem som hatade dem
och befriade dem från deras fiender.
11 Vattnet täckte deras fiender.
Inte en enda en av dem undkom.
12 Då trodde de hans ord
och lovade honom med sin sång.
13 Men snart glömde de allt han gjort.
De väntade inte på hans råd.
14 De greps av begär i öknen
och utmanade Gud i ödemarken.
15 Då gav han dem vad de begärde,
men han sände också förödande sjukdomar över dem.[a]
16 De blev avundsjuka på Mose och Aron,
som var helgade åt Herren.
17 Jorden öppnade sig och svalde Datan,
begravde Avirams hop.
18 Eld flammade upp bland deras anhängare,
lågorna uppslukade de onda.
19 De gjorde en kalv vid Horeb
och tillbad en gjuten avgud.
20 De bytte ut sin härlighet
mot en avbild av en tjur som äter gräs.
21 De glömde Gud, sin räddare,
som gjort så stora ting i Egypten,
22 mirakel i Hams land
och märkliga gärningar vid Sävhavet.
23 Därför bestämde han sig för att förgöra dem.
Men Mose, hans utvalde, ställde sig framför honom
för att hålla tillbaka hans vrede,
så att han inte skulle förinta dem.
24 Sedan föraktade de det underbara landet,
och de trodde inte på hans ord.
25 De gnällde i sina tält,
och de ville inte lyssna till Herren.
26 Därför lyfte han sin hand och svor
att han skulle döda dem i öknen,
27 och att deras barn skulle skingras bland främmande folk
och spridas ut till andra länder.
28 De förenade sig med Baal-Pegor,
och de åt offer som offrats till livlösa avgudar.[b]
29 Genom sina gärningar retade de Herren till vrede,
så att en plåga bröt ut bland dem.
30 Men Pinechas grep in och kom emellan,
så att plågan upphörde.
31 För detta räknades han som rättfärdig
från generation till generation, för evigt.
32 Vid Merivas vatten förargade de Herren igen
och ställde till bekymmer för Mose.
33 De var upproriska mot hans ande, så
att han[c] talade utan att tänka efter.
34 De förgjorde inte heller folken,
som Herren hade sagt till dem,
35 utan beblandade sig med främmande folk
och tog efter deras seder och bruk.
36 De tillbad deras avgudar,
och detta blev en fälla för dem.
37 De offrade sina söner och döttrar
till demoner.
38 De utgöt oskyldigt blod, sina söners och döttrars,
som de offrade åt Kanaans avgudar,
och landet blev vanhelgat genom dessas blod.
39 De vanhelgade sig själva genom sina handlingar
och agerade i otrohet.
40 Herrens vrede upptändes mot hans folk,
och han avskydde sin arvedel.
41 Han överlämnade dem åt främmande folk,
och de som hatade dem fick härska över dem.
42 Deras fiender förtryckte dem,
och de fick underkasta sig deras makt.
43 Gång på gång befriade han dem,
men de fortsatte att göra uppror,
och de sjönk allt djupare i sin synd.
44 Ändå såg han till dem i deras nöd
när han hörde deras rop.
45 Han kom ihåg sitt förbund med dem
och var mild i sin stora nåd.
46 Han lät dem finna förbarmande
hos dem som höll dem fångna.
47 Rädda oss, Herre, vår Gud!
Samla oss från dessa folk,
så att vi får prisa ditt heliga namn
och tacka och lova dig.
48 Lovad vare Herren, Israels Gud, från evighet till evighet!
Och allt folket ska säga: ”Amen!”
