ஆலயத்திற்குப் போகும்போது பாடும் பாடல்
129 என் வாழ்க்கை முழுவதும் எனக்குப் பகைவர்கள் பலர் இருந்தனர்.
இஸ்ரவேலே, அந்தப் பகைவர்களைப்பற்றிச் சொல்.
2 என் வாழ்க்கை முழுவதும் எனக்குப் பகைவர்கள் பலர் இருந்தனர்.
ஆனால் அவர்கள் என்னை மேற்கொள்ளவில்லை.
3 என் முதுகில் ஆழமான காயங்கள் ஏற்படும்வரை அவர்கள் என்னை அடித்தார்கள்.
எனக்கு நீளமான, ஆழமான காயங்கள் ஏற்பட்டன.
4 ஆனால் நல்லவராகிய கர்த்தர் கயிறுகளை அறுத்துக்
கொடியோரிடமிருந்து என்னை விடுவித்தார்.
5 சீயோனை வெறுத்த ஜனங்கள் தோற்கடிக்கப்பட்டார்கள்.
அவர்கள் போரிடுவதை நிறுத்தி, ஓடிப்போய்விட்டார்கள்.
6 அவர்கள் கூரையின் மேலுள்ள புல்லைப் போன்றவர்கள்.
வளரும் முன்னே அப்புல் வாடிப்போகும்.
7 ஒரு வேலையாளுக்கு ஒரு கை நிரம்ப அந்த புல் கிடைக்காது.
ஒரு குவியல் தானியமும் கிடைப்பதில்லை.
8 அவர்களருகே நடக்கும் ஜனங்கள், “கர்த்தர் உங்களை ஆசீர்வதிக்கட்டும்” என்று கூறமாட்டார்கள்.
ஜனங்கள், “கர்த்தருடைய நாமத்தில் நாங்கள் உங்களை ஆசீர்வதிக்கிறோம்” என்று அவர்களிடம் வாழ்த்துக் கூறமாட்டார்கள்.

Psalm 129
A song of ascents.
1 “They have greatly oppressed(A) me from my youth,”(B)
let Israel say;(C)
2 “they have greatly oppressed me from my youth,
but they have not gained the victory(D) over me.
3 Plowmen have plowed my back
and made their furrows long.
4 But the Lord is righteous;(E)
he has cut me free(F) from the cords of the wicked.”(G)
5 May all who hate Zion(H)
be turned back in shame.(I)
6 May they be like grass on the roof,(J)
which withers(K) before it can grow;
7 a reaper cannot fill his hands with it,(L)
nor one who gathers fill his arms.
8 May those who pass by not say to them,
“The blessing of the Lord be on you;
we bless you(M) in the name of the Lord.”
