ਇਸਤੀਫ਼ਾਨ ਦਾ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼
7 ਸਰਦਾਰ ਜਾਜਕ ਨੇ ਇਸਤੀਫ਼ਾਨ ਨੂੰ ਪੁੱਛਿਆ, “ਕੀ ਇਹ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਸੱਚ ਹਨ?” 2 ਇਸਤੀਫ਼ਾਨ ਨੇ ਜਵਾਬ ਦਿੱਤਾ, “ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਯਹੂਦੀ ਪਿਤਰੋ ਅਤੇ ਭਰਾਵੋ ਸੁਣੋ। ਸਾਡੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਅਬਰਾਹਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਹਾਰਾਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੱਸਣ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਜਦ ਉਹ ਮਸੋਪੋਤਾਮਿਯਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੀ, ਤਾਂ ਇੱਕ ਮਹਿਮਾਮਈ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਵਿਖਲਾਈ ਦਿੱਤਾ। 3 ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਅਬਰਾਹਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ, ‘ਤੂੰ ਆਪਣਾ ਦੇਸ਼ ਅਤੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਦੇਸ਼ ਨੂੰ ਚੱਲਿਆ ਜਾ ਜੋ ਮੈਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਵਿਖਾਵਾਂਗਾ।’ [a]
4 “ਇਸ ਲਈ ਅਬਰਾਹਾਮ ਕਲਦੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਦੇਸ਼ ਚੋਂ ਨਿਕਲ ਕੇ ਹਾਰਾਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਾ ਵਸਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਅਬਰਾਹਾਮ ਦੇ ਪਿਉ ਦੇ ਮਰਨ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਇਸ ਜਗ਼੍ਹਾ ਭੇਜਿਆ ਜਿੱਥੇ ਹੁਣ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹੋ। 5 ਪਰ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਅਬਰਾਹਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਜ਼ਮੀਨ ਨਾ ਦਿੱਤੀ, ਇੱਕ ਫ਼ੁੱਟ ਤੱਕ ਦੀ ਵੀ ਥਾਂ ਨਾ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਪਰ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨਾਲ ਵਾਅਦਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਇਹ ਧਰਤੀ ਉਸੇ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਪਿੱਛੋਂ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਅੰਸ਼ ਨੂੰ ਦੇਵਾਂਗਾ ਭਾਵੇਂ ਅਜੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਕੋਈ ਬੱਚਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੀ।
6 “ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ ਕਿ ‘ਤੇਰੀ ਔਲਾਦ ਕਿਸੇ ਹੋਰ ਦੇਸ਼ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਹੇਗੀ। ਉਹ ਉਸ ਜਗ਼੍ਹਾ ਤੇ ਅਜਨਬੀਆਂ ਵਾਂਗ ਰਹਿਣਗੇ। ਉੱਥੋਂ ਦੇ ਲੋਕ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣਾ ਗੁਲਾਮ ਬਣਾ ਕੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਬੁਰਾ ਸਲੂਕ ਕਰਣਗੇ। ਅਜਿਹਾ ਚਾਰ ਸੌ ਸਾਲ ਤੱਕ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਰਹੇਗਾ। 7 ਪਰ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ, ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਕੌਮ ਨੂੰ, ਜਿਸਦੇ ਉਹ ਗੁਲਾਮ ਹੋਣਗੇ, ਸਜ਼ਾ ਦੇਵਾਂਗਾ।’ [b] ‘ਫ਼ੇਰ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਹੋਣ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਉਹ ਉੱਥੋਂ ਨਿਕਲ ਆਉਣਗੇ। ਤਦ ਤੇਰੇ ਲੋਕ ਇੱਥੇ ਆਉਣਗੇ ਅਤੇ ਇਸ ਜਗ਼੍ਹਾ ਮੇਰੀ ਉਪਾਸਨਾ ਕਰਨਗੇ।’ [c]
8 “ਅਤੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਇੱਕ ਕਰਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਤੇ ਉਸ ਕਰਾਰ ਦਾ ਨਿਸ਼ਾਨ ਸੁੰਨਤ ਸੀ। ਇਸ ਲਈ ਜਦੋਂ ਅਬਰਾਹਾਮ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਮੁੰਡਾ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋਇਆ, ਅੱਠਵੇਂ ਦਿਨ ਹੀ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਮੁੰਡੇ ਦੀ ਸੁੰਨਤ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤੀ। ਅਬਰਾਹਾਮ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਦਾ ਨਾਂ ਇਸਹਾਕ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਗਿਆ। ਇਸਹਾਕ ਨੇ ਵੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਯਾਕੂਬ ਦੀ ਸੁੰਨਤ ਕਰਵਾਈ ਅਤੇ ਯਾਕੂਬ ਨੇ ਵੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਪੁੱਤਰਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਉਵੇਂ ਹੀ ਕੀਤਾ। ਅੱਗੇ ਜਾਕੇ ਇਹ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਸਾਡੇ ਬਾਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਵੰਸ਼ਾਂ ਦੇ ਪੂਰਵਜ਼ ਬਣੇ।
9 “ਪਰ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਪੂਰਵਜ਼ਾਂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਛੋਟੇ ਭਰਾ ਯੂਸੁਫ਼ ਨੂੰ ਈਰਖਾ ਕਾਰਣ ਮਿਸਰ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਕੋਲ ਇੱਕ ਦਾਸ ਵਾਂਗ ਵੇਚ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਪਰ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਯੂਸੁਫ਼ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਸੀ। 10 ਯੂਸੁਫ਼ ਨੂੰ ਉੱਥੇ ਬੜੀਆਂ ਮੁਸੀਬਤਾਂ ਆਈਆਂ, ਪਰ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਭ ਮੁਸੀਬਤਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਬਚਾਇਆ। ਉਸ ਵਕਤ, ਫ਼ਿਰਊਨ ਮਿਸਰ ਤੇ ਰਾਜ ਕਰਦਾ ਸੀ। ਫ਼ਿਰਊਨ ਯੂਸੁਫ਼ ਦੀ ਉਸ ਸਿਆਣਪ ਕਾਰਣ, ਜੋ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਬਖਸ਼ੀ ਸੀ, ਉਸ ਦੀ ਇੱਜ਼ਤ ਕਰਦਾ ਸੀ। ਫ਼ਿਰਊਨ ਨੇ ਯੂਸੁਫ਼ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਸਰ ਦੇ ਰਾਜਪਾਲ ਦਾ ਅਹੁਦਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਹਿਲਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਚੀਜ਼ਾਂ ਦੀ ਜਿੰਮੇਵਾਰੀ ਦੇ ਦਿੱਤੀ। 11 ਪਰ ਫ਼ਿਰ ਸਾਰੇ ਮਿਸਰ ਅਤੇ ਕਨਾਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਾਲ ਪਿਆ, ਜ਼ਮੀਨ ਇੰਨੀ ਸੁੱਕ ਗਈ ਕਿ ਅਨਾਜ ਨਾ ਉੱਗ ਸੱਕਿਆ। ਨਤੀਜਾ, ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬਹੁਤ ਕਸ਼ਟ ਝੱਲਣੇ ਪਏ। ਸਾਡੇ ਪਿਉ-ਦਾਦਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਉੱਥੇ ਖਾਣ ਨੂੰ ਕੁਝ ਨਾ ਲੱਭਿਆ।
12 “ਪਰ ਯਾਕੂਬ ਨੇ ਸੁਣਿਆ ਕਿ ਮਿਸਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਨਾਜ ਇਕੱਠਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਲਈ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਸਾਡੇ ਪਿਉ ਦਾਦਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਉੱਥੇ ਭੇਜਿਆ। ਮਿਸਰ ਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਪਹਿਲੀ ਯਾਤਰਾ ਸੀ। 13 ਤਦ ਫ਼ਿਰ ਉਹ ਉੱਥੇ ਦੂਜੀ ਵਾਰ ਫ਼ਿਰ ਗਏ। ਇਸ ਵਾਰ, ਯੂਸੁਫ਼ ਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਭਰਾਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣਾ ਅਸਲੀ ਪਰੀਚੇ ਪ੍ਰਗਟਾਇਆ। ਤਾਂ ਫ਼ਿਰਊਨ ਨੂੰ ਯੂਸੁਫ਼ ਦੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਬਾਰੇ ਮਾਲੂਮ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ। 14 ਤਦ ਯੂਸੁਫ਼ ਨੇ ਕੁਝ ਆਦਮੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਿਉ ਯਾਕੂਬ ਨੂੰ ਅਤੇ ਰਿਸ਼ਤੇਦਾਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ, ਮਿਸਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਿਉਂਤਾ ਦੇਣ ਲਈ ਭੇਜਿਆ ਜੋ ਕਿ ਗਿਣਤੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੁੱਲ ਪੰਝੱਤਰ ਜੀਅ ਸਨ। 15 ਤਦ ਯਾਕੂਬ ਮਿਸਰ ਨੂੰ ਗਿਆ। ਯਾਕੂਬ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਡੇ ਦਾਦੇ-ਪੜਦਾਦੇ ਫ਼ਿਰ ਮਰਨ ਤੱਕ ਉੱਥੇ ਹੀ ਰਹੇ। 16 ਬਾਅਦ ਵਿੱਚ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਰੀਰ ਸ਼ਕਮ ਨੂੰ ਲਿਜਾਏ ਗਏ ਅਤੇ ਕਬਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਾ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਗਏ। ਇਹ ਉਹੀ ਕਬਰ ਸੀ ਜਿਹੜੀਆਂ ਅਬਰਾਹਾਮ ਨੇ ਸ਼ਕਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਹਮੋਰ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਚਾਂਦੀ ਦੇਕੇ ਮੁਲ ਖਰੀਦੀ ਸੀ।
17 “ਮਿਸਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਯਹੂਦੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਗਿਣਤੀ ਵੱਧ ਗਈ। ਜਦੋਂ ਉਹ ਕਰਾਰ ਪੂਰਾ ਹੋਣ ਦਾ ਵੇਲਾ ਨੇੜੇ ਆਇਆ, ਜਿਸਦਾ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਅਬਰਾਹਾਮ ਨਾਲ ਵਚਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ। ਮਿਸਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਾਡੇ ਲੋਕ ਤੇਜ਼ ਰਫ਼ਤਾਰ ਨਾਲ ਵੱਧ ਗਏ। 18 ਫ਼ੇਰ ਮਿਸਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਇੱਕ ਦੂਜਾ ਰਾਜਾ ਸ਼ਾਸਨ ਕਰਨ ਲੱਗ ਪਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਰਾਜੇ ਨੂੰ ਯੂਸੁਫ਼ ਬਾਰੇ ਕੁਝ ਵੀ ਪਤਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੀ। 19 ਇਸ ਰਾਜੇ ਨੇ ਸਾਡੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਗੁਮਰਾਹ ਕੀਤਾ ਤੇ ਸਾਡੇ ਪੂਰਵਜ਼ਾਂ ਤੇ ਜ਼ੁਲਮ ਕੀਤੇ। ਉਸ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਬੱਚਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਬਾਹਰ ਸੁੱਟਕੇ ਮਾਰੇ ਜਾਣ ਲਈ ਮਜ਼ਬੂਰ ਕੀਤਾ।
20 “ਇਸੇ ਸਮੇਂ ਮੂਸਾ ਜਨਮਿਆ ਸੀ। ਉਹ ਬੜਾ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਬਾਲਕ ਸੀ। ਤਿੰਨ ਮਹੀਨਿਆਂ ਤੱਕ ਉਸਦੀ ਦੇਖ ਭਾਲ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਿਓ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਹੋਈ ਸੀ। 21 ਜਦੋਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਬਾਹਰ ਛੱਡ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਗਿਆ, ਤਾਂ ਫ਼ਿਰਊਨ ਦੀ ਧੀ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਗੋਦ ਲਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਵਾਂਗ ਪਾਲਿਆ ਪੋਸਿਆ। 22 ਮੂਸਾ ਮਿਸਰੀਆਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਵਿਦਿਆਵਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਿਖਿਅਤ ਸੀ। ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਬਚਨਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਕਰਨੀਆਂ ਕਾਰਣ ਬੜਾ ਸ਼ਕਤੀਸ਼ਾਲੀ ਅਤੇ ਸਮਰਥ ਸਿਧ ਹੋਇਆ।
23 “ਜਦੋਂ ਮੂਸਾ ਚਾਲੀਆਂ ਸਾਲਾਂ ਦੀ ਉਮਰ ਦੇ ਆਸ ਪਾਸ ਸੀ, ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਯਹੂਦੀ ਭਰਾਵਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਭੇਂਟ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਸੋਚੀ। 24 ਜਦੋਂ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਇੱਕ ਮਿਸਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਇੱਕ ਯਹੂਦੀ ਨਾਲ ਬੁਰਾ ਵਿਹਾਰ ਕਰਦੇ ਵੇਖਿਆ, ਉਸ ਨੇ ਯਹੂਦੀ ਦਾ ਪੱਖ ਲਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਮਿਸਰੀ ਨੂੰ, ਯਹੂਦੀ ਨਾਲ ਕੀਤੀ ਇਸ ਕਰਨੀ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਸਜ਼ਾ ਦਿੱਤੀ। ਮੂਸਾ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਇੰਨੀ ਜ਼ੋਰ ਦੀ ਠੋਕਰ ਮਾਰੀ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਮਰ ਗਿਆ। 25 ਮੂਸਾ ਨੇ ਸੋਚਿਆ ਕਿ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਯਹੂਦੀ ਭਰਾ ਸਮਝ ਜਾਣ ਕਿ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬਚਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਉਸਦਾ ਇਸਤੇਮਾਲ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ, ਪਰ ਉਹ ਨਾ ਸਮਝੇ।
26 “ਅਗਲੇ ਦਿਨ, ਮੂਸਾ ਨੇ ਦੋ ਯਹੂਦੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਲੜਦਿਆਂ ਵੇਖਿਆ, ਉਸ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੁਲਾਹ ਕਰਵਾਉਣੀ ਚਾਹੀ ਤੇ ਆਖਿਆ, ‘ਹੇ ਮਨੁੱਖੋ। ਤੁਸੀਂ ਭਰਾ-ਭਰਾ ਹੋ। ਤਾਂ ਫ਼ਿਰ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਕਿਉਂ ਇੱਕ ਦੂਜੇ ਨੂੰ ਨੁਕਸਾਨ ਪਹੁੰਚਾ ਰਹੇ ਹੋ?’ 27 ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਦੂਜੇ ਨੂੰ ਨੁਕਸਾਨ ਪਹੁੰਚਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਮੂਸਾ ਨੂੰ ਧੱਕਾ ਦੇਕੇ ਆਖਿਆ, ‘ਤੈਨੂੰ ਕਿਸ ਨੇ ਸਾਡੇ ਉੱਪਰ ਹਾਕਮ ਅਤੇ ਨਿਆਂਈ ਬਣਾਇਆ ਹੈ? 28 ਕੀ ਤੂੰ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਇੰਝ ਹੀ ਮਾਰਨਾ ਚਾਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਕੱਲ ਇੱਕ ਮਿਸਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰਿਆ ਸੀ?’ [d] 29 ਜਦੋਂ ਮੂਸਾ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਕਹਿੰਦੇ ਸੁਣਿਆ ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਮਿਸਰ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ ਮਿਦਯਾਨ ਦੇਸ਼ ਵਿੱਚ ਚੱਲਾ ਗਿਆ। ਉੱਥੇ ਉਹ ਅਜਨਬੀ ਸੀ। ਜਦੋਂ ਮੂਸਾ ਮਿਦਯਾਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੀ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਦੋ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋਏ।
30 “ਚਾਲੀਆਂ ਸਾਲਾਂ ਬਾਅਦ, ਮੂਸਾ ਸਿਨਾਈ ਦੇ ਪਹਾੜ ਦੇ ਨੇੜੇ ਇੱਕ ਉਜਾੜ ਵਿੱਚ ਗਿਆ। ਉੱਥੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਇੱਕ ਦੂਤ ਅੱਗ ਦੀ ਲਾਟ ਵਿੱਚਕਾਰ ਬੱਲਦੀ ਝਾੜੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਪ੍ਰਗਟ ਹੋਇਆ। 31 ਜਦੋਂ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਵੇਖਿਆ ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਹੈਰਾਨ ਰਹਿ ਗਿਆ। ਜਦੋਂ ਉਹ ਚੰਗੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਵੇਖਣ ਲਈ ਨੇੜੇ ਗਿਆ, ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਇੱਕ ਅਵਾਜ਼ ਸੁਣੀ, ਇਹ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਅਵਾਜ਼ ਸੀ। 32 ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, ‘ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਪਿਓ ਦਾਦਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਹਾਂ। ਅਬਰਾਹਾਮ ਦਾ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ, ਇਸਹਾਕ ਦਾ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ, ਅਤੇ ਯਾਕੂਬ ਦਾ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ।’ [e] ਮੂਸਾ ਡਰ ਨਾਲ ਕੰਬਦਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਉੱਪਰ ਤੱਕਣ ਦਾ ਹੌਂਸਲਾ ਨਾ ਕਰ ਸੱਕਿਆ।
33 “ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ, ‘ਆਪਣੇ ਪੈਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਜੁੱਤੀ ਲਾਹ, ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਜਿਸ ਥਾਂ ਉੱਪਰ ਤੂੰ ਖੜ੍ਹਾ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਇੱਕ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਧਰਤੀ ਹੈ। 34 ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਕਸ਼ਟਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਬਹੁਤ ਸੁਚੇਤ ਹਾਂ। ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬੜਾ ਕੁਰਲਾਉਂਦਿਆਂ ਹੋਇਆਂ ਸੁਣਿਆ ਹੈ। ਇਸੇ ਲਈ ਮੈਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬਚਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਉੱਤਰਿਆ ਹਾਂ। ਹੁਣ, ਮੂਸਾ, ਮੈਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਵਾਪਸ ਮਿਸਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਭੇਜਾਂਗਾ।’ [f]
35 “ਇਹ ਉਹੀ ਮੂਸਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਇਸਰਾਏਲੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਆਖਦਿਆਂ ਨਾਮੰਜ਼ੂਰ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਸਾਡਾ ਹਾਕਮ ਅਤੇ ਮੁਨਸਫ਼ ਕਿਸਨੇ ਬਣਾਇਆ ਹੈ? [g] ਉਹ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਹਾਕਮ ਅਤੇ ਛੁਟਕਾਰਾ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੋਣ ਲਈ ਭੇਜਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ। ਪਰੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਇੱਕ ਦੂਤ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਭੇਜਿਆ ਜੋ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਮੱਚਦੀ ਝਾੜੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਪ੍ਰਗਟਿਆ ਸੀ। 36 ਉਹੀ ਹੈ ਜਿਸਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਸਰ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਹਰ ਕੱਢਿਆ ਸੀ। ਉਸ ਨੇ ਸ਼ਕਤੀਸ਼ਾਲੀ ਕਰਤੱਬ ਅਤੇ ਕਰਿਸ਼ਮੇ ਮਿਸਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਤੇ ਲਾਲ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਤੇ ਉਜਾੜ ਵਿੱਚ ਚਾਲ੍ਹੀ ਸਾਲ ਤੱਕ ਕੀਤੇ।
37 “ਇਹ ਉਹੀ ਮੂਸਾ ਸੀ ਜਿਸਨੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ ਸੀ ‘ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਭਰਾਵਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਹੀ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਲਈ ਮੇਰੇ ਵਰਗਾ ਇੱਕ ਨਬੀ ਖੜ੍ਹਾ ਕਰੇਗਾ।’ [h] 38 ਇਹ ਉਹੀ ਮੂਸਾ ਸੀ ਜੋ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਸੀ ਜੋ ਉਜਾੜ ਵਿੱਚ ਇਕੱਠੇ ਹੋਏ ਸਨ। ਉਹ ਉਸ ਦੂਤ ਨਾਲ ਸੀ ਜੋ ਉਸ ਨਾਲ ਉਜਾੜ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੀਨਈ ਦੇ ਪਹਾੜ ਉੱਪਰ ਬੋਲਿਆ ਸੀ। ਉਹ ਸਾਡੇ ਪਿਉ ਦਾਦਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਸੀ। ਮੂਸਾ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇ ਹੁਕਮ ਮਿਲੇ ਭਈ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਸੌਂਪ ਦੇਵੇ।
39 “ਪਰ ਸਾਡੇ ਪੁਰਖਿਆਂ ਨੇ ਉਸਦੀ ਪਾਲਾਣਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਨਾਮੰਜ਼ੂਰ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਉਹ ਦੋਬਾਰਾ ਮਿਸਰ ਵਾਪਿਸ ਜਾਣਾ ਚਾਹੁੰਦੇ ਸਨ। 40 ਸਾਡੇ ਪਿਤਰਾਂ ਨੇ ਹਾਰੂਨ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, ‘ਮੂਸਾ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਮਿਸਰ ਦੇਸ਼ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਕੱਢ ਲਿਆਇਆ ਹੈ, ਪਰ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਤਾ ਕਿ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਕੀ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਲਈ ਸਾਡੇ ਲਈ ਕੋਈ ਅਜਿਹੇ ਦੇਵਤੇ ਬਣਾ ਜੋ ਸਾਡੇ ਅੱਗੇ-ਅੱਗੇ ਚੱਲ ਕੇ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਰਾਹ ਦੱਸਣ।’ [i] 41 ਤਦ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਇੱਕ ਵਛੜੇ ਦੀ ਮੂਰਤ ਬਣਾਈ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਮੂਰਤ ਦਾ ਬਲੀਦਾਨ ਚੜ੍ਹਾਇਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਹੱਥਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਅਜਿਹੀ ਮੂਰਤ ਬਣਾਕੇ ਬੜੇ ਖੁਸ਼ ਸਨ। 42 ਪਰ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਵਿਰੋਧ ਕੀਤਾ। ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਅਕਾਸ਼ ਵਿੱਚਲੇ ਝੂਠੇ ਦੇਵਤਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਸੈਨਾ ਦੀ ਉਪਾਸਨਾ ਕਰਨ ਤੋਂ ਰੋਕਣਾ ਛੱਡ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਜਿਵੇਂ ਕਿ ਨਬੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਪੋਥੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਆਖਦਾ,
‘ਹੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਲੋਕੋ, ਕੀ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਜਾੜ ਵਿੱਚ ਮੇਰੇ ਲਈ ਚਾਲ੍ਹੀਆਂ ਸਾਲਾਂ ਵਾਸਤੇ
ਬਲੀਆਂ ਜਾਂ ਭੇਟਾਵਾਂ ਲਿਆਏ।
43 ਤੁਸੀਂ ਮੋਲੋਕ ਦੇ ਤੰਬੂ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਦੇਵੇਤੇ ਰਿਫ਼ਾਨ ਦੇ
ਸਿਤਾਰੇ ਦੇ ਬਿੰਬ ਨੂੰ ਚੁੱਕਿਆ ਸੀ।
ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਹ ਮੂਰਤਾਂ ਪੂਜਣ ਲਈ ਬਣਾਈਆਂ ਸਨ,
ਇਸ ਲਈ ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਬੇਬੀਲੋਨ ਤੋਂ ਪਰ੍ਹੇ ਭੇਜ ਦੇਵਾਂਗਾ।’ (A)
44 “ਉਜਾੜ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਤੰਬੂ ਸਾਡੇ ਪਿਉ ਦਾਦਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਪੁਰਖਿਆਂ ਕੋਲ ਸੀ। ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਮੂਸਾ ਨੂੰ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਕਿਵੇਂ ਬਨਾਉਣਾ ਹੈ। ਉਸ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਬਿਲਕੁਲ ਉਸੇ ਨਮੂਨੇ ਦਾ ਬਣਾਇਆ ਜੋ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਖਾਇਆ ਸੀ। 45 ਬਾਅਦ ਵਿੱਚ ਯਹੋਸ਼ੁਆ ਨੇ ਦੂਜੇ ਰਾਜਾਂ ਦੀ ਜ਼ਮੀਨ ਤੇ ਕਬਜ਼ਾ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਸਾਡੇ ਪੁਰਖਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਅੱਗੇ ਲਾਇਆ। ਸਾਡੇ ਲੋਕ ਉੱਥੇ ਗਏ ਅਤੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਉੱਥੋਂ ਦੂਜੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬਾਹਰ ਕੱਢਿਆ। ਜਦੋਂ ਸਾਡੇ ਲੋਕ ਇਸ ਨਵੀਂ ਧਰਤੀ ਤੇ ਗਏ, ਤਾਂ ਇਹੋ ਤੰਬੂ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਾਲ ਲੈ ਗਏ। ਸਾਡੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਤੰਬੂ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਿਤਰਾਂ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਸੀ, ਅਤੇ ਇਹ ਦਾਉਦ ਦੇ ਸਮੇਂ ਤੱਕ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕੋਲ ਸੀ। 46 ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦਾਊਦ ਉੱਪਰ ਬੜਾ ਖੁਸ਼ ਸੀ। ਦਾਊਦ ਨੇ ਯਾਕੂਬ ਦੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਤੋਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਇੱਕ ਮੰਦਰ ਬਨਾਉਣ ਦੀ ਆਗਿਆ ਮੰਗੀ। 47 ਪਰ ਉਹ ਸੁਲੇਮਾਨ ਹੀ ਸੀ ਜਿਸਨੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਲਈ ਘਰ ਬਣਾਇਆ।
48 “ਪਰ ਅੱਤ ਮਹਾਨ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਦੇ ਹੱਥਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਬਣਾਈਆਂ ਹੋਈਆਂ ਇਮਾਰਤਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ। ਇਹੀ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਨਬੀ ਆਖਦੇ ਹਨ:
49 ‘ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ ਸਵਰਗ ਮੇਰਾ ਸਿੰਘਾਸਣ ਹੈ।
ਧਰਤੀ ਮੇਰੇ ਪੈਰ ਰੱਖਣ ਦੀ ਚੌਂਕੀ ਹੈ।
ਮੇਰੇ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਕਿਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਘਰ ਬਣਾਵੋਂਗੇ?
ਮੈਂ ਆਰਾਮ ਕਿੱਥੇ ਕਰ ਸੱਕਦਾ ਹਾਂ?
50 ਕੀ ਮੈਂ ਉਹੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਹਾਂ ਜਿਸਨੇ ਇਹ ਸਭ ਚੀਜ਼ਾਂ ਬਣਾਈਆਂ।’” (B)
51 ਤਦ ਇਸਤੀਫ਼ਾਨ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਹੇ ਹਠੀ ਯਹੂਦੀ ਆਗੂਓ। ਹੇ ਮਨ ਅਤੇ ਕੰਨ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਸੁੰਨ ਲੋਕੋ। ਤੁਸੀਂ ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਆਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਵਿਰੋਧ ਕੀਤਾ। ਤੁਸੀਂ ਵੀ ਉਵੇਂ ਹੀ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਹੋ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਪੁਰਖਿਆਂ ਨੇ ਕੀਤਾ। 52 ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਪੁਰਖਿਆਂ ਨੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਨਬੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਜਦੋਂ ਉਹ ਆਏ, ਦੰਡ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਸਗੋਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਬੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਹੀ ਕਿਹਾ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਇੱਕ ਧਰਮੀ ਆਵੇਗਾ ਪਰ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਪੁਰਖਿਆਂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਅਤੇ ਹੁਣ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਸ ਧਰਮੀ ਪੁਰੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਧੋਖਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ। 53 ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਹ ਲੋਕ ਹੋ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮੂਸਾ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਰ੍ਹਾ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੋਈ। ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਸ਼ਰ੍ਹਾ ਦੂਤਾਂ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਪਰ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਸਦੀ ਪਾਲਣਾ ਨਾ ਕਰ ਸੱਕੇ।”
ਇਸਤੀਫ਼ਾਨ ਦਾ ਮਾਰਿਆ ਜਾਣਾ
54 ਯਹੂਦੀ ਆਗੂਆਂ ਨੇ ਇਸਤੀਫ਼ਾਨ ਨੂੰ ਅਜਿਹੇ ਬਚਨ ਕਰਦੇ ਸੁਣਿਆ ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਬੜੇ ਕਰੋਧ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਏ। ਉਹ ਇੰਨੇ ਕਰੋਧ ਵਿੱਚ ਆ ਗਏ ਕਿ ਇਸਤੀਫ਼ਾਨ ਉੱਪਰ ਮਾਰੇ ਗੁੱਸੇ ਦੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਦੰਦ ਕਚੀਚਣ ਲੱਗ ਪਏ। 55 ਪਰ ਇਸਤੀਫ਼ਾਨ ਨੇ, ਜੋ ਕਿ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਆਤਮਾ ਨਾਲ ਭਰਪੂਰ ਸੀ, ਉੱਪਰ ਅਸਮਾਨ ਚ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੀ ਮਹਿਮਾ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਸੱਜੇ ਪਾਸੇ ਖੜ੍ਹਾ ਵੇਖਿਆ। 56 ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਵੇਖ, ਮੈਂ ਆਕਾਸ਼ ਨੂੰ ਖੁਲ੍ਹਾ ਵੇਖਿਆ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਮੈਂ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਸੱਜੇ ਹੱਥ ਵੱਲ ਖੜ੍ਹਾ ਵੇਖ ਰਿਹਾ ਹਾਂ।”
57 ਤਾਂ ਸਾਰੇ ਯਹੂਦੀ ਆਗੂਆਂ ਨੇ ਉੱਚੀ ਆਵਾਜ਼ ਵਿੱਚ ਸ਼ੋਰ ਮਚਾਇਆ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਕੰਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਹੱਥਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਬੰਦ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ। ਉਹ ਸਾਰੇ ਇਕੱਠੇ ਹੋਕੇ ਇਸਤੀਫ਼ਾਨ ਵੱਲ ਭੱਜ ਪਏ। 58 ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਸ਼ਹਿਰੋਂ ਬਾਹਰ ਕੱਢ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਪੱਥਰ ਮਾਰੇ। ਅਤੇ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਇਸਤੀਫ਼ਾਨ ਦੇ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਗਵਾਹੀ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਸੀ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਵਸਤਰ ਇੱਕ ਸੋਲੂਸ ਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਜੁਆਨ ਦੇ ਪੈਰਾਂ ਕੋਲ ਲਾਹ ਕੇ ਰੱਖ ਦਿੱਤੇ। 59 ਜਦੋਂ ਇਸਤੀਫ਼ਾਨ ਤੇ ਪੱਥਰਾਵ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ, ਉਸ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਆਖਦਿਆਂ ਹੋਇਆਂ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਾਰਥਨਾ ਕੀਤੀ, “ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਯਿਸੂ ਮੇਰੇ ਆਤਮਾ ਨੂੰ ਸਵੀਕਾਰ ਕਰ ਲੈ।” 60 ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਗੋਡੇ ਟੇਕ ਕੇ ਉੱਚੀ ਬੋਲਿਆ, “ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ। ਇਹ ਪਾਪ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਜੁੰਮੇ ਨਾ ਲਾਵੀ।” ਇਹ ਆਖਣ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਉਹ ਮਰ ਗਿਆ।

7 Y el sumo sacerdote dijo: ¿Es esto así?
2 Y él dijo: Escuchadme, hermanos y padres(A). El Dios de gloria(B) apareció a nuestro padre Abraham cuando estaba en Mesopotamia, antes que habitara en Harán(C), 3 y le dijo: «Sal de tu tierra y de tu parentela, y ve a la tierra que yo te mostraré(D)». 4 Entonces él salió de la tierra de los caldeos y se radicó en Harán(E). Y de allí, después de la muerte de su padre, Dios lo trasladó a esta tierra en la cual ahora vosotros habitáis(F). 5 No le dio en ella heredad, ni siquiera la medida de la planta del pie, y sin embargo, aunque no tenía hijo, prometió que se la daría en posesión a Él y a su descendencia después de Él(G). 6 Y Dios dijo así: «(H)Que sus descendientes serían extranjeros en una tierra extraña, y que serían esclavizados y maltratados[a] por cuatrocientos años. 7 Pero yo mismo juzgaré a cualquier nación de la cual sean esclavos» —dijo Dios— «y después de eso saldrán y me servirán[b] en este lugar(I)». 8 Y Dios le dio el pacto[c] de la circuncisión(J); y así Abraham vino a ser el padre de Isaac, y lo circuncidó al octavo día(K); e Isaac vino a ser el padre de Jacob(L), y Jacob de los doce patriarcas(M).
9 Y los patriarcas tuvieron envidia de José y lo vendieron para Egipto(N). Pero Dios estaba con él, 10 y lo rescató de todas sus aflicciones, y le dio gracia(O) y sabiduría delante de Faraón, rey de Egipto, y este lo puso por gobernador sobre Egipto y sobre toda su casa.

2 And he said, (A)“Brethren and fathers, listen: The (B)God of glory appeared to our father Abraham when he was in Mesopotamia, before he dwelt in (C)Haran, 3 and said to him, (D)‘Get out of your country and from your relatives, and come to a land that I will show you.’ 4 Then (E)he came out of the land of the Chaldeans and dwelt in Haran. And from there, when his father was (F)dead, He moved him to this land in which you now dwell. 5 And God gave him no inheritance in it, not even enough to set his foot on.
