ਲੇਵੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਜਾਜਕਾਂ ਲਈ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ
21 ਲੇਵੀ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ-ਸਮੂਹ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਾਸਕ, ਜਾਜਕ ਅਲਆਜ਼ਾਰ, ਨੂਨ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਯਹੋਸ਼ੁਆ ਅਤੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਹੋਰਨਾ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ-ਸਮੂਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਆਗੂਆਂ ਕੋਲ ਗੱਲ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਗਏ। 2 ਇਹ ਗੱਲ ਕਨਾਨ ਦੀ ਧਰਤੀ ਉੱਤੇ ਸ਼ੀਲੋਹ ਕਸਬੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਾਪਰੀ। ਲੇਵੀ ਹਾਕਮਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਮੂਸਾ ਨੂੰ ਇੱਕ ਆਦੇਸ਼ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਸੀ। ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਦੇਸ਼ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਕਸਬੇ ਦੇਵੋਂਗੇ। ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਦੇਸ਼ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਸਾਡੇ ਜਾਨਵਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਖੇਤ ਦੇਵੋਂਗੇ।” 3 ਇਸ ਲਈ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਇਸ ਆਦੇਸ਼ ਨੂੰ ਮੰਨਿਆ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਲੇਵੀ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਕਸਬੇ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਜਾਨਵਰਾਂ ਲਈ ਆਲੇ-ਦੁਆਲੇ ਦੇ ਖੇਤ ਦਿੱਤੇ:
4 ਕਹਾਥ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਵਾਲੇ ਲੇਵੀ ਦੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ-ਸਮੂਹ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਜਾਜਕ ਹਾਰੂਨ ਦੇ ਉੱਤਰਾਧਿਕਾਰੀ ਸਨ। ਕਹਾਥ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਦੇ ਇੱਕ ਹਿੱਸੇ ਨੂੰ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਇਲਾਕਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ 13 ਕਸਬੇ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਗਏ, ਜਿਹੜੇ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ, ਸ਼ਿਮਓਨ ਅਤੇ ਬਿਨਯਾਮੀਨ ਦੀ ਮਾਲਕੀ ਹੇਠਾਂ ਸਨ।
5 ਹੋਰਨਾ ਕਹਾਥ ਪਰਿਵਾਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਦਸ ਕਸਬੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਇਲਾਕਿਆਂ ਅੰਦਰ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਗਏ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਅਫ਼ਰਾਈਮ, ਦਾਨ ਅਤੇ ਅੱਧੇ ਮਨੱਸ਼ਹ ਦੀ ਮਾਲਕੀ ਹੇਠਾਂ ਸਨ।
6 ਗੇਰਸ਼ੋਨ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ 13 ਕਸਬੇ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਗਏ। ਇਹ ਕਸਬੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਇਲਾਕਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਨ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਯਿੱਸਾਕਾਰ, ਆਸ਼ੇਰ, ਨਫ਼ਤਾਲੀ ਅਤੇ ਬਾਸ਼ਾਨ ਵਿੱਚਲੇ ਅੱਧੇ ਮਨੱਸ਼ਹ ਦੀ ਮਾਲਕੀ ਹੇਠਾਂ ਸਨ।
7 ਮਰਾਰੀ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬਾਰਾਂ ਕਸਬੇ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਗਏ। ਇਹ ਬਾਰਾਂ ਕਸਬੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਇਲਾਕਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਉਂਦੇ ਸਨ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਰਊਬੇਨ, ਗਾਦ ਅਤੇ ਜ਼ਬੂਲੁਨ ਦੀ ਮਾਲਕੀ ਹੇਠਾਂ ਸਨ।
8 ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਲੇਵੀ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ, ਜਿਵੇਂ ਕਿ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਮੂਸਾ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ ਸੀ, ਇਹ ਕਸਬੇ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਆਲੇ-ਦੁਆਲੇ ਦੇ ਖੇਤ ਦੇ ਦਿੱਤੇ।
9 ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਸਬਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ, ਜਿਹੜੇ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਅਤੇ ਸ਼ਿਮਓਨ ਦੀ ਮਾਲਕੀ ਹੇਠਲੇ ਇਲਾਕਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਨ, ਇਹ ਹਨ। 10 ਕਸਬਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਚੋਣ ਕਰਨ ਦਾ ਪਹਿਲਾ ਹੱਕ ਕਹਾਥ ਪਰਿਆਰ ਦੇ ਲੇਵੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਗਿਆ। 11 ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਰਯਥ ਅਰਬਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ (ਇਹ ਹਬਰੋਨ ਹੈ। ਇਸਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਅਰਬਾ ਨਾਮ ਦੇ ਆਦਮੀ ਉੱਤੇ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ। ਅਰਬਾ ਅਨੋਕ ਦਾ ਪਿਉ ਸੀ।) ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਜਾਨਵਰਾਂ ਲਈ ਕਸਬੇ ਦੇ ਨਜ਼ਦੀਕ ਕੁਝ ਧਰਤੀ ਵੀ ਦੇ ਦਿੱਤੀ। 12 ਪਰ ਕਿਰਯਥ ਅਰਬਾ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਦੇ ਆਲੇ-ਦੁਆਲੇ ਦੇ ਛੋਟੇ ਕਸਬੇ ਅਤੇ ਖੇਤ ਯਫ਼ੁੰਨਾਹ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਕਾਲੇਬ ਦੀ ਮਾਲਕੀ ਹੇਠਾਂ ਸਨ। 13 ਇਸ ਲਈ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਹਾਰੂਨ ਦੇ ਉੱਤਰਾਧਿਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਹਬਰੋਨ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਦੇ ਦਿੱਤਾ। (ਹਬਰੋਨ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਅਤ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਸੀ।) ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਹਾਰੂਨ ਦੇ ਉੱਤਰਾਧਿਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਲਬਾਨੋਨ, 14 ਯੱਤਿਰ, ਅਸ਼ਤਮੋਆ, 15 ਹੋਲੋਨ, ਦਬਿਰ, ਹੋਲੋਨ, ਦਬਿਰ, 16 ਆਇਨ, ਯੁੱਤਾਹ ਅਤੇ ਬੈਤ ਸ਼ਮਸ਼ ਦੇ ਕਸਬੇ ਵੀ ਦਿੱਤੇ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਜਾਨਵਰਾਂ ਲਈ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਸਬਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਨੇੜੇ ਦੀ ਕੁਝ ਧਰਤੀ ਵੀ ਦੇ ਦਿੱਤੀ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਮੂਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਨੌਂ ਕਸਬੇ ਦਿੱਤੇ।
17 ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਹਾਰੂਨ ਦੇ ਉੱਤਰਾਧਿਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਹ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਵੀ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਬਿਨਯਾਮੀਨ ਦੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ-ਸਮੂਹ ਦੀ ਮਾਲਕੀ ਹੇਠਾਂ ਸਨ ਇਹ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਸਨ ਗਿਬਓਨ, ਗਬਾ, 18 ਅਨਾਥੋਥ ਅਤੇ ਅਲਮੋਨ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਚਾਰ ਕਸਬੇ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਜਾਨਵਰਾਂ ਲਈ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਸਬਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਨੇੜੇ ਦੀ ਕੁਝ ਧਰਤੀ ਦਿੱਤੀ। 19 ਕੁੱਲ ਮਿਲਾ ਕੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਜਾਜਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ 13 ਕਸਬੇ ਦਿੱਤੇ। (ਸਾਰੇ ਜਾਜਕ ਹਾਰੂਨ ਦੀ ਸੰਤਾਨ ਸਨ।) ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਹਰੇਕ ਕਸਬੇ ਦੇ ਨੇੜੇ ਦੀ ਕੁਝ ਧਰਤੀ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਜਾਨਵਰਾਂ ਲਈ ਦਿੱਤੀ।
20 ਕਹਾਥ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਦੇ ਹੋਰਨਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਹ ਕਸਬੇ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਗਏ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਅਫ਼ਰਾਈਮ ਦੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ-ਸਮੂਹ ਦੀ ਮਾਲਕੀ ਹੇਠਲੇ ਇਲਾਕਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਨ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਕਸਬੇ ਮਿਲੇ: 21 ਅਫ਼ਰਾਈਮ ਦੇ ਪਹਾੜੀ ਪ੍ਰਦੇਸ਼ ਦਾ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਸ਼ਕਮ। (ਸ਼ਕਮ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਅਤ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਸੀ।) ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਗਜ਼ਰ, 22 ਕਿਬਸੈਮ ਅਤੇ ਬੈਤ ਹੋਰੋਨ ਵੀ ਮਿਲੇ। ਕੁੱਲ ਮਿਲਾ ਕੇ ਅਫ਼ਰਾਈਮ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਚਾਰ ਕਸਬੇ, ਹਰੇਕ ਕਸਬੇ ਦੇ ਆਲੇ-ਦੁਆਲੇ ਦੀ ਕੁਝ ਧਰਤੀ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਜਾਨਵਰਾਂ ਲਈ ਦਿੱਤੀ।
23 ਦਾਨ ਦੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ-ਸਮੂਹ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਅਲਤਕੇਹ ਗਿਬਥੋਨ, 24 ਅੱਯਾਲੋਨ ਅਤੇ ਗਥ ਰਿੰਮੋਨ ਦਿੱਤੇ। ਕੁੱਲ ਮਿਲਾ ਕੇ ਦਾਨ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਚਾਰ ਕਸਬੇ ਅਤੇ ਹਰੇਕ ਕਸਬੇ ਦੇ ਆਲੇ-ਦੁਆਲੇ ਦੀ ਧਰਤੀ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਜਾਨਵਰਾਂ ਲਈ ਦਿੱਤੀ।
25 ਮਨੱਸ਼ਹ ਦੇ ਅੱਧੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ-ਸਮੂਹ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਤਾਨਾਕ ਅਤੇ ਗਥ ਰਿੰਮੋਨ ਦਿੱਤੇ। ਕੁੱਲ ਮਿਲਾ ਕੇ ਇਸ ਅੱਧੇ ਮਨੱਸ਼ਹ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਦੋ ਕਸਬੇ ਅਤੇ ਹਰੇਕ ਕਸਬੇ ਦੇ ਆਲੇ-ਦੁਆਲੇ ਦੀ ਕੁਝ ਧਰਤੀ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਜਾਨਵਰਾਂ ਲਈ ਦਿੱਤੀ।
26 ਕੁੱਲ ਮਿਲਾ ਕੇ, ਕਹਾਥ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਦੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਦਸ ਕਸਬੇ ਅਤੇ ਹਰੇਕ ਕਸਬੇ ਦੇ ਆਲੇ-ਦੁਆਲੇ ਦੀ ਕੁਝ ਧਰਤੀ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਜਾਨਵਰਾਂ ਲਈ ਮਿਲੀ। 27 ਗੇਰਸ਼ੋਨ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਵੀ ਲੇਵੀ ਦੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ-ਸਮੂਹ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਸੀ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਕਸਬੇ ਮਿਲੇ:
ਮਨੱਸ਼ਹ ਦੇ ਅੱਧੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ-ਸਮੂਹ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬਾਸ਼ਾਨ ਵਿੱਚਲਾ ਗੋਲਨ ਦਿੱਤਾ। (ਗੋਲਨ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਅਤ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਸੀ।) ਮਨੱਸ਼ਹ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬਅਸ਼ਤਰਾਹ ਵੀ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਕੁੱਲ ਮਿਲਾ ਕੇ ਇਸ ਅੱਧੇ ਮਨੱਸ਼ਹ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਦੋ ਕਸਬੇ ਅਤੇ ਹਰੇਕ ਦੇ ਆਲੇ-ਦੁਆਲੇ ਦੀ ਕੁਝ ਧਰਤੀ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਜਾਨਵਰਾਂ ਲਈ ਦਿੱਤੀ।
28 ਯਿੱਸਾਕਾਰ ਦੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ-ਸਮੂਹ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਸ਼ਯੋਨ, ਦਾਬਰਥ, 29 ਯਰਮੂਥ ਅਤੇ ਏਨ ਗੱਨੀਮ ਦਿੱਤੇ। ਕੁੱਲ ਮਿਲਾ ਕੇ ਯਿੱਸਾਕਾਰ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਚਾਰ ਕਸਬੇ ਅਤੇ ਹਰੇਕ ਕਸਬੇ ਦੇ ਆਲੇ-ਦੁਆਲੇ ਦੀ ਕੁਝ ਧਰਤੀ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਜਾਨਵਰਾਂ ਲਈ ਦਿੱਤੀ।
30 ਆਸ਼ੇਰ ਦੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ-ਸਮੂਹ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਸ਼ਾਲ, ਅਬਦੋਨ, 31 ਹਲਕਾਥ ਅਤੇ ਰਹੋਬ ਦਿੱਤੇ। ਕੁੱਲ ਮਿਲਾ ਕੇ ਆਸ਼ੇਰ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਚਾਰ ਕਸਬੇ ਅਤੇ ਹਰੇਕ ਕਸਬੇ ਦੇ ਆਲੇ-ਦੁਆਲੇ ਦੀ ਕੁਝ ਧਰਤੀ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਜਾਨਵਰਾਂ ਲਈ ਦਿੱਤੀ।
32 ਨਫ਼ਤਾਲੀ ਦੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ-ਸਮੂਹ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਗਲੀਲ ਵਿੱਚਲਾ ਕਦਸ਼ ਦਿੱਤਾ। (ਕਦਸ਼ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਅਤ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਸੀ।) ਨਫ਼ਤਾਲੀ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਹੱਮੋਥ ਦੌਰ ਅਤੇ ਕਰਤਾਨ ਵੀ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਕੁੱਲ ਮਿਲਾ ਕੇ ਨਫ਼ਤਾਲੀ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਤਿੰਨ ਕਸਬੇ ਅਤੇ ਹਰੇਕ ਕਸਬੇ ਦੇ ਆਲੇ-ਦੁਆਲੇ ਦੀ ਕੁਝ ਧਰਤੀ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਜਾਨਵਰਾਂ ਲਈ ਦਿੱਤੀ।
33 ਕੁੱਲ ਮਿਲਾ ਕੇ ਗੇਰਸ਼ੋਨ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਨੂੰ 13 ਕਸਬੇ ਅਤੇ ਹਰੇਕ ਕਸਬੇ ਦੇ ਆਲੇ-ਦੁਆਲੇ ਦੀ ਕੁਝ ਧਰਤੀ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਜਾਨਵਰਾਂ ਲਈ ਮਿਲੀ।
34 ਦੂਸਰਾ ਲੇਵੀ-ਸਮੂਹ ਮਰਾਰੀ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਸੀ। ਮਰਾਰੀ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਕਸਬੇ ਮਿਲੇ: ਜ਼ਬੂਲੁਨ ਦੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ-ਸਮੂਹ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਯਾਕਨਾਮ, ਕਾਰਤਾਹ, 35 ਦਿਮਨਾਹ ਅਤੇ ਨਹਲਾਲ ਦਿੱਤੇ। ਕੁੱਲ ਮਿਲਾ ਕੇ ਜ਼ਬੂਲੁਨ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਚਾਰ ਕਸਬੇ ਅਤੇ ਹਰੇਕ ਕਸਬੇ ਦੇ ਆਲੇ-ਦੁਆਲੇ ਦੀ ਕੁਝ ਧਰਤੀ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਜਾਨਵਰਾਂ ਲਈ ਦਿੱਤੀ। 36 ਰਊਬੇਨ ਦੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ-ਸਮੂਹ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬਸਰ, ਯਾਹਸਾਹ, 37 ਕੇਦੋਮੋਥ ਅਤੇ ਮੇਪਅਬ ਦਿੱਤੇ। ਕੁੱਲ ਮਿਲਾ ਕੇ ਰਊਬੇਨ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਚਾਰ ਕਸਬੇ ਅਤੇ ਹਰੇਕ ਕਸਬੇ ਦੇ ਆਲੇ-ਦੁਆਲੇ ਦੀ ਕੁਝ ਧਰਤੀ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਜਾਨਵਰਾਂ ਲਈ ਦਿੱਤੀ। 38 ਗਾਦ ਦੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ-ਸਮੂਹ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਗਿਲਆਦ ਵਿੱਚਲਾ ਰਾਮੋਥ ਦਿੱਤਾ। (ਰਾਮੋਥ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਅਤ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਸੀ।) ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਹਨਇਮ, 39 ਹਸ਼ਬੋਨ ਅਤੇ ਯਆਜ਼ੇਰ ਵੀ ਦਿੱਤੇ। ਕੁੱਲ ਮਿਲਾ ਕੇ ਗਾਦ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਚਾਰ ਕਸਬੇ ਅਤੇ ਹਰੇਕ ਕਸਬੇ ਦੇ ਆਲੇ-ਦੁਆਲੇ ਦੀ ਕੁਝ ਧਰਤੀ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਜਾਨਵਰਾਂ ਲਈ ਦਿੱਤੀ।
40 ਕੁੱਲ ਮਿਲਾ ਕੇ ਲੇਵੀ ਦੇ ਆਖਰੀ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਮਰਾਰੀ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਨੂੰ 12 ਕਸਬੇ ਮਿਲੇ।
41 ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਲੇਵੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਕੁੱਲ 48 ਕਸਬੇ ਅਤੇ ਹਰੇਕ ਕਸਬੇ ਦੇ ਆਲੇ-ਦੁਆਲੇ ਦੀ ਕੁਝ ਧਰਤੀ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਜਾਨਵਰਾਂ ਲਈ ਮਿਲੀ। ਇਹ ਸਾਰੇ ਕਸਬੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਇਲਾਕਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਨ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਹੋਰਨਾ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ-ਸਮੂਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਮਾਲਕੀ ਹੇਠਾਂ ਸਨ। 42 ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਹਰੇਕ ਕਸਬੇ ਕੋਲ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਜਾਨਵਰਾਂ ਲਈ ਕੁਝ ਧਰਤੀ ਸੀ। ਇਹ ਗੱਲ ਹਰੇਕ ਕਸਬੇ ਬਾਰੇ ਸਹੀ ਸੀ।
43 ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਇਕਰਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਨਿਭਾਇਆ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ। ਉਸ ਨੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਹ ਸਾਰੀ ਧਰਤੀ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਜਿਸਦਾ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਇਕਰਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ। ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਧਰਤੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕੀਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਸ ਗਏ। 44 ਅਤੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ, ਜਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਪੁਰਖਿਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਇਕਰਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਧਰਤੀ ਦੇ ਹਰ ਪਾਸੇ ਸ਼ਾਂਤੀ ਰੱਖਣ ਦੀ ਇਜਾਜ਼ਤ ਦੇ ਦਿੱਤੀ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਕਿਸੇ ਵੀ ਦੁਸ਼ਮਣ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਹਰਾਇਆ। ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਹਰ ਦੁਸ਼ਮਣ ਨੂੰ ਹਰਾਉਣ ਦੀ ਇਜਾਜ਼ਤ ਦਿੱਤੀ। 45 ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਉਹ ਹਰ ਇਕਰਾਰ ਨਿਭਾਇਆ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ। ਕੋਈ ਵੀ ਇਕਰਾਰ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੀ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਨਿਭਾਇਆ ਨਾ ਹੋਵੇ। ਹਰ ਇਕਰਾਰ ਸੱਚਾ ਸਾਬਤ ਹੋਇਆ।

21 (A)Entonces los jefes de las casas[a] de los levitas se acercaron al sacerdote Eleazar, a Josué, hijo de Nun, y a los jefes de las casas[b] de las tribus de los israelitas, 2 y les hablaron en Silo en la tierra de Canaán y les dijeron: «El Señor ordenó por medio[c] de Moisés que se nos dieran ciudades donde habitar, con sus tierras de pasto para nuestro ganado(B)».
3 Entonces los israelitas dieron de su heredad a los levitas estas ciudades con sus tierras de pasto, de acuerdo al mandato[d] del Señor(C). 4 Y la suerte cayó en[e] las familias de los coatitas. Y a los hijos del sacerdote Aarón, que eran de los levitas, les tocaron[f] en suerte trece ciudades de la tribu de Judá, de la tribu de Simeón[g] y de la tribu de Benjamín.
5 Al resto de los hijos de Coat les tocaron en suerte diez ciudades de las familias de la tribu de Efraín, de la tribu de Dan y de la media tribu de Manasés. 6 A los hijos de Gersón les tocaron en suerte trece ciudades de las familias de la tribu de Isacar, de la tribu de Aser, de la tribu de Neftalí y de la media tribu de Manasés en Basán.
7 A los hijos de Merari les tocaron, según sus familias, doce ciudades de la tribu de Rubén, de la tribu de Gad y de la tribu de Zabulón. 8 Los israelitas dieron por suerte a los levitas estas ciudades con sus tierras de pasto, como el Señor había ordenado por medio[h] de Moisés.
9 Les dieron estas ciudades que aquí se mencionan por nombre, de la tribu de los hijos de Judá y de la tribu de los hijos de Simeón(D). 10 Fueron para los hijos de Aarón, una de las familias de los coatitas, de los hijos de Leví, porque la suerte fue de ellos primero. 11 Les dieron Quiriat Arba, siendo Arba el padre de Anac, es decir, Hebrón(E), en la región montañosa de Judá, con las tierras de pasto alrededor(F). 12 Pero los campos de la ciudad y sus aldeas se los dieron a Caleb, hijo de Jefone, como propiedad suya.
13 Y a los hijos del sacerdote Aarón les dieron Hebrón(G), la ciudad de refugio para el que haya matado a alguien, con sus tierras de pasto, Libna con sus tierras de pasto(H), 14 Jatir(I) con sus tierras de pasto, Estemoa(J) con sus tierras de pasto, 15 Holón[i] con sus tierras de pasto, Debir(K) con sus tierras de pasto, 16 Aín[j] con sus tierras de pasto, Juta(L) con sus tierras de pasto y Bet Semes(M) con sus tierras de pasto; nueve ciudades de estas dos tribus.
17 De la tribu de Benjamín, Gabaón(N) con sus tierras de pasto, Geba(O) con sus tierras de pasto, 18 Anatot con sus tierras de pasto y Almón[k] con sus tierras de pasto; cuatro ciudades. 19 Todas las ciudades de los sacerdotes, hijos de Aarón, eran trece ciudades con sus tierras de pasto.

25 De la media tribu de Manasés, les dieron por suertes Taanac con sus tierras de pasto y Gat Rimón con sus tierras de pasto; dos ciudades. 26 Todas las ciudades con sus tierras de pasto para las familias del resto de los hijos de Coat fueron diez.
27 Para los hijos de Gersón, una de las familias de los levitas, de la media tribu de Manasés, les dieron Golán en Basán(R), la ciudad de refugio para el que haya matado a alguien, con sus tierras de pasto y Beestera con sus tierras de pasto; dos ciudades.
28 De la tribu de Isacar, les dieron Quisión con sus tierras de pasto, Daberat con sus tierras de pasto, 29 Jarmut con sus tierras de pasto y Enganim con sus tierras de pasto; cuatro ciudades.
30 De la tribu de Aser, les dieron Miseal con sus tierras de pasto, Abdón con sus tierras de pasto, 31 Helcat con sus tierras de pasto y Rehob con sus tierras de pasto; cuatro ciudades.
32 De la tribu de Neftalí, les dieron Cedes en Galilea(S), la ciudad de refugio para el que haya matado a alguien, con sus tierras de pasto, Hamot Dor con sus tierras de pasto y Cartán con sus tierras de pasto; tres ciudades. 33 Todas las ciudades de los gersonitas, conforme a sus familias, eran trece ciudades con sus tierras de pasto.
34 A las familias de los hijos de Merari, el resto de los levitas, les dieron de la tribu de Zabulón(T), Jocneam con sus tierras de pasto, Carta con sus tierras de pasto, 35 Dimna con sus tierras de pasto y Naalal con sus tierras de pasto; cuatro ciudades.
36 De la tribu de Rubén, les dieron Beser(U) con sus tierras de pasto, Jahaza con sus tierras de pasto, 37 Cademot con sus tierras de pasto y Mefaat con sus tierras de pasto; cuatro ciudades.
38 De la tribu de Gad, les dieron Ramot en Galaad(V), la ciudad de refugio para el que haya matado a alguien, con sus tierras de pasto, Mahanaim(W) con sus tierras de pasto, 39 Hesbón con sus tierras de pasto y Jazer con sus tierras de pasto; cuatro ciudades en total. 40 Todas estas fueron las ciudades de los hijos de Merari conforme a sus familias, el resto de las familias de los levitas y su suerte fue doce ciudades.
41 Todas las ciudades de los levitas en medio de la posesión de los israelitas fueron cuarenta y ocho ciudades con sus tierras de pasto(X). 42 Cada una de estas ciudades tenía sus tierras de pasto alrededor; así fue con todas estas ciudades.
43 De esa manera el Señor dio a Israel toda la tierra que había jurado dar a sus padres(Y), y la poseyeron y habitaron en ella(Z). 44 Y el Señor les dio reposo(AA) en derredor, conforme a todo lo que había jurado a sus padres. Ninguno de sus enemigos pudo hacerles frente(AB); el Señor entregó a todos sus enemigos en sus manos(AC). 45 No faltó ni una palabra de las buenas promesas[l] que el Señor había hecho[m] a la casa de Israel. Towns for the Levites(A)
21 Now the family heads of the Levites approached Eleazar the priest, Joshua son of Nun, and the heads of the other tribal families of Israel(B) 2 at Shiloh(C) in Canaan and said to them, “The Lord commanded through Moses that you give us towns(D) to live in, with pasturelands for our livestock.”(E) 3 So, as the Lord had commanded, the Israelites gave the Levites the following towns and pasturelands out of their own inheritance:
4 The first lot came out for the Kohathites,(F) according to their clans. The Levites who were descendants of Aaron the priest were allotted thirteen towns from the tribes of Judah, Simeon and Benjamin.(G) 5 The rest of Kohath’s descendants were allotted ten towns from the clans of the tribes of Ephraim, Dan and half of Manasseh.(H)
6 The descendants of Gershon(I) were allotted thirteen towns from the clans of the tribes of Issachar,(J) Asher,(K) Naphtali and the half-tribe of Manasseh in Bashan.
7 The descendants of Merari,(L) according to their clans, received twelve(M) towns from the tribes of Reuben, Gad and Zebulun.(N)
8 So the Israelites allotted to the Levites these towns and their pasturelands, as the Lord had commanded through Moses.
9 From the tribes of Judah and Simeon they allotted the following towns by name 10 (these towns were assigned to the descendants of Aaron who were from the Kohathite clans of the Levites, because the first lot fell to them):
11 They gave them Kiriath Arba(O) (that is, Hebron(P)), with its surrounding pastureland, in the hill country of Judah. (Arba was the forefather of Anak.) 12 But the fields and villages around the city they had given to Caleb son of Jephunneh as his possession.(Q)
13 So to the descendants of Aaron the priest they gave Hebron (a city of refuge(R) for one accused of murder), Libnah,(S) 14 Jattir,(T) Eshtemoa,(U) 15 Holon,(V) Debir,(W) 16 Ain,(X) Juttah(Y) and Beth Shemesh,(Z) together with their pasturelands—nine towns from these two tribes.
17 And from the tribe of Benjamin they gave them Gibeon,(AA) Geba,(AB) 18 Anathoth(AC) and Almon, together with their pasturelands—four towns.
19 The total number of towns(AD) for the priests, the descendants of Aaron, came to thirteen, together with their pasturelands.(AE)
20 The rest of the Kohathite clans of the Levites were allotted towns from the tribe of Ephraim:
21 In the hill country of Ephraim they were given Shechem(AF) (a city of refuge for one accused of murder) and Gezer,(AG) 22 Kibzaim and Beth Horon,(AH) together with their pasturelands—four towns.(AI)
23 Also from the tribe of Dan they received Eltekeh, Gibbethon,(AJ) 24 Aijalon(AK) and Gath Rimmon,(AL) together with their pasturelands—four towns.
25 From half the tribe of Manasseh they received Taanach(AM) and Gath Rimmon, together with their pasturelands—two towns.
26 All these ten towns and their pasturelands were given to the rest of the Kohathite clans.(AN)
27 The Levite clans of the Gershonites were given:
from the half-tribe of Manasseh,
Golan in Bashan(AO) (a city of refuge for one accused of murder(AP)) and Be Eshterah, together with their pasturelands—two towns;
28 from the tribe of Issachar,(AQ)
Kishion,(AR) Daberath,(AS) 29 Jarmuth(AT) and En Gannim,(AU) together with their pasturelands—four towns;
30 from the tribe of Asher,(AV)
32 from the tribe of Naphtali,
Kedesh(AZ) in Galilee (a city of refuge for one accused of murder(BA)), Hammoth Dor and Kartan, together with their pasturelands—three towns.
33 The total number of towns of the Gershonite(BB) clans came to thirteen, together with their pasturelands.
34 The Merarite clans (the rest of the Levites) were given:
from the tribe of Zebulun,(BC)
Jokneam,(BD) Kartah, 35 Dimnah and Nahalal,(BE) together with their pasturelands—four towns;
36 from the tribe of Reuben,
38 from the tribe of Gad,
Ramoth(BI) in Gilead(BJ) (a city of refuge for one accused of murder), Mahanaim,(BK) 39 Heshbon and Jazer,(BL) together with their pasturelands—four towns in all.
40 The total number of towns allotted to the Merarite clans, who were the rest of the Levites, came to twelve.(BM)
41 The towns of the Levites in the territory held by the Israelites were forty-eight in all, together with their pasturelands.(BN) 42 Each of these towns had pasturelands surrounding it; this was true for all these towns.
43 So the Lord gave Israel all the land he had sworn to give their ancestors,(BO) and they took possession(BP) of it and settled there.(BQ) 44 The Lord gave them rest(BR) on every side, just as he had sworn to their ancestors. Not one of their enemies(BS) withstood them; the Lord gave all their enemies(BT) into their hands.(BU) 45 Not one of all the Lord’s good promises(BV) to Israel failed; every one was fulfilled.
